Hi DOCSouthwestland
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

I'm afraid we have to add to the list of DNFs, we both spent a while searching high and low around the hint item, then spread our search, but nothing found.

Did not find the cache at the posted coords near the green sign within the time I allowed myself to find it.
Coords took us to a big green sign, but we searched high and low and found no cache, just beer bottles and rubbish on the ground.
Great cache. Well placed. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 1892
22156 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we went from Farnz Jozef Glacier to Greymouth and we had all day, so we made many stops. Allong the road we found many caches, but we also visited Ross, Hokitika and Shanty town. There caches brought us to special remarkable places.
After checkin, Greymouth around the hotel was visited.
Most caches were found quite quickly.

Today we had our second day in Fox/Franz Josef and again made a trip in and around the city, thus visiting many sightseeing highlights again. On this trip we searched, found and logged many caches, too. The weather was good, sunny, very warm, but a bit cloudy, and only sometimes there was some wind.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had better things to do than observing two geocachers.
Thanks to DOCSouthwestland for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Lake Wahapo. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

First visit to New Zealand, and what a way to see this beautiful country - a lap of the South Island by motorhome! We started in Christchurch and then drove through the hills of the Southern Alps to the west coast.
Finished the day's caching here on a wet evening. Cache was found easily even in the dark.
Thanks DOCSouthwestland.
Now onto our first NZ glacier!

Stood by the green sign to look for it. Almost gave up until we stepped off the track a little. TFTC
Found on our way to Franz Josef. Needed a pause and this cache gave us a reason to stop. Very interesting to find out about the vegetation here. Greetings from Kent, England.
I moved my snail shell down to Franz Joseph from Hokitika yesterday for a few days lapping up the Westland's wet sunshine. Today was a venture to the north. THERE IS CHEAPER DIESEL IN WHATAROA BY 18 CENTS/LITRE THAN IN FRANZ JOSEPH.
What a great view of the lake. A pity it was blowing a bit today.
No TB in the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

On our trip from the glaciers to Greymouth we found this cache on a nice lake. TFTC!
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, DOCSouthwestland.
Driving north on a magnificent day, on a bit of an adventure - stopping for a few caches along the way.
Great scenery, robust sandflies..... - even more robust here than at my last stop .

10:58:00 AM. On holidays from Australia and now touring the South Island. Found and signed log in the rain as has become the norm for us. Thanks DOCSouthwestland for the cache.
This took me a we while to find...not sure but it may have suffered from cache creep as I found it 17 or so meters from GZ on my Garmin GPS over head high...sure is a neat spot and the lake looked so tranquil today...thanks DOC great cache
This took a long time to find but very obvious when spotted. By my reckoning the cache is about 18m south east from coordinates. Views of lake and kaihikitia are worth the stop. Thanks for bringing us here DOC.

A quick stop during our drive from Franz Josef to Greymouth. ReCached spent a few minutes looking for the cache while keeping the hint in mind. He then went away a little further and there was the container. TFTC DOCSouthwestland!

On my way to Hokitika from Franz Josef after doing a heli-hike on the glacier (highly recommended). A quick find, TFTC.
I was out on a road trip from Queenstown to Hokitika and back again and stopped to look for this cache on my travels. Soon found this cache here, a nice outlook over the lake. TFTC!
After a day along the beach further north with long walks and a lot of inhaling the fresh salty air as well as visiting the pancake rocks, mmmmike and me started driving south to get to the glacier area. We stopped from time to time to stretch the legs or to have a look at interesting sites. Not too easy to figure out the nice and still existing boxes. Nearly turned out to be the perfect job for the co-driver, kept me busy. We ended with a nice collection of caches.
Very nice hide! mmmmike and me, we liked it a lot. And we took a Tui with us. After we met a Weka we start to get familiar with the birds and get to know some of the plants - where some boxes are hidden under or behind or in. Completely different from Ahorn, Platane, Eiche, Birke, Fichte, Buche, Fichte or Kirschlorbeer...
Thanks for caring for this cache!

In Australia we have entire states wheee caching was banned in national parks - here DOC hides them, provides nice places to stay... makes you thoroughly awesome tftc
Caching pal spotted from her vantage point as she was waiting for me to make the find! Left a pen and took tui sticker. Thanks and a neat forest to see back on the upswing!
First find today. Stopped by on the way to Fox Glacier and stood by the green sign for a while. Stared into the greenery for a while, but nothing popped up. Decided to change tack and try another angle, and ah... there it is. Nice big official looking cache. Signed in and proceeded onwards. TFTC!
Found on way from Fox to Lake Brunner. Spent a fair while looking, based off the clue exactly, but after widening our search a little the cache was found. Tftc
While doing a 2-week volunteer stint with DoC at Lake Mapourika I thought it a good move to track some of their 'caches down. Found it quickly, all in good condition.
On a road trip from Dunedin to Westport where some friends have rented a holiday home. Reasonably quick find.
Another day for exploring New Zealands South Island and while doing that we found some caches on the way south.
There were several caches on the track and we went to look for some.
Today was also the day that we did find some DOC caches and this was one of them.

T-Tech and I are touring South Island for 6 weeks
Bad weather put paid to our fly-over and land on Fox Glacier yesterday but we turned up early for another attempt this morning. We were only able to do the fly-over, which was pretty spectacular anyway [^] and afterwards we travelled onto Franz Josef Glacier. And again we picked up some caches along the way!
After our walk out to see the glacier, we journeyed on to Hokitika. We stopped for a coffee break here, and marvelled at the stamina of a couple of bike riders in the rain! I took the wander over to GZ and made the find. TFTC, DOCSouthwestland.

Over from Brisbane for a number of weeks "motorhoming" around the South Island with IolantheK [^]
Now on our way from Haast to North for a bit sticking to the coast, grabbing caches between views
Great spot to stop the van for a spot of lunch and a chat with some very wet bike riders

Day 4 Hokitiki - Lake Paringa
We ventured back into Hokitiki to find a couple more caches before heading into the glacier area.
Raining most of the morning so picked up a few where we didn't have to venture to far from the camper. A great drive down the coast, many good caches in wonderful locations.
Thanks for placing this cache DOCSouthwestland

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you DOCSouthwestlandfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Today is the fourth day micaparamedic and I are in New Zealand. It's near the end of an almost three month adventure. He arrived at my place in Washington State toward the end of July. From there we found some old caches in Oregon and then headed up north to The Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada for a few weeks.
We then attended the mega APE event in Washington, followed immediately by camping in Oregon a few days to see the total solar eclipse. After a few day trips close to home, we headed to Australia for almost a month doing many things on my bucket list such as walking around Uluru and seeing the Sydney Harbour. Now we're spending a time in New Zealand before once again going our separate ways. What a trip!
Today we are on the west coast enjoying some partly sunny weather. The tops of the mountains were at times hidden by clouds, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment as we traveled.
Thanks - we stopped here for two caches and took time to enjoy the Visitors Center.

Out 'egg'ploring South Westland on a beautiful hot sunny day. A nice hide that you can only see from the correct angle. Evidence of human waste below GZ so watch out. The TB listed is not in the cache. Thanks for the smilie
Interesting spot worth a stop if you are interested in wildlife especially botany. Nice quick find with hint. Tftc
On my way from Hokitika to Fox Glacier. Yesterday on my way from Nelson I've only found 2 caches, today I wanted to find a little more. Parked the car, went to find the cache and returned quickly afterwards. I love the idea of the DOC placing caches itself! Thanks for hiding!
on a fantastic journey around New Zealand in a Camper with 24 other couples from the Caravav Club in England. taking time out on our trip to collect a few caches thanks to you all for giving us the chance to find them.
Beautiful lake. Thank you very much for the cache. Like we say in the Czech Republic where I am from - Diky moc!
Today again a scenic route from Fox Glacier to Hokitita.
This was a beautiful, sunny day . I strolled over to ground zero and searched for a short time and found the container. The coords are right on the mark.
The cache is in good condition and the log paper is nice and dry. I took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log paper.
I carefully replaced the cache right back where we found it.
