After the huge day yesterday (200 caches) was hoping for a sleep in and then a few more caches before heading home. Didnt get the first but did get the second (another 51). Glorious weather again and some beautiful country traversed.I solved this puzzle this morning while having coffee. Like all this series there is one answer I struggled with and took a lot of guesses to get the checker to give me the green light (I was going too low). Thankfully the hide was a simple one and I grabbed quickly and then on to the next.TFTC Joshwa27
We are on a ten-day road trip from Sydney around the Central West. Travelling from Cowra to Goulburn today. We solved this puzzle about interesting Boorowa yesterday and visited old St Patricks this morning. A chilly, quiet place at HZ before a stop for morning tea at the Superb Cafe with the superb parrot on its awning. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
Reperio 19:54The youngest and I left Orange this afternoon to come and tackle some of the caches in and around the Yass area this weekend, and we managed to fit in a few finds before we made camp for the night. With the majority of finds being from power trails or shorter series, we had a great time picking them off one by one. This one was one of the extra caches found along the way. Out caching north of Yass today. This puzzle has been on the solved list for quite some time, and it was quickly located at GZ. Regrettably the log is wet and tricky to sign, however we have a pic as proof of find if required.
Thanks.
Thanks.
**Today:**
Myself and sebass19 decided to head out to the "Hilltops" LGA to find some Sausages, Turtles, Frogs and a sleuth of other caches! We did a maintenance run for DSD's caches whilst we were at it too, tying up a few loose ends and making sure they were in good nick!
Ended up with 50 finds for the day, rare to get that many for a 'local' day out, although we did rack up a fair distance from home!
**This Cache:**
Thanks to sebass19 for solving the majority of this puzzle in the car as we drove between Rye Park & Boorowa! A couple digits we needed to ammend / fix up, but they were either very significant or very insignificant, so we had the spot narrowed down to a very small radius. Upon arrival there was one large tree, and the cache was quickly located at the base of it! Still didn't get a green light on the checker, but that's ok!

Out with GreyHams on a mostly nice sunny day. With the recent rain there was plenty of water lying about, the little car got, well... just a 'little' muddy! Thankfully though we stayed dry and clean enough! Wow, it was a long day that saw us cover a lot of distance, climb a few hills, and collect a lot of good quality caches along the way. Generally, most caches were found in good condition, all at the coordinates and dry although a few have not held up to the rain and were in poor or very wet condition.
Thanks for your cache that led to a good day out!

We had solved this ne some time ago, so it was good to arrive in town and find the cache.
Today we decide to take another loop out from Harden via Galong to Boorowra. It was still bitterly cold with the wind adding to the chill factor, but thankfully only a few short but light rain showers.
We enjoyed the rolling hills and speculated as to what crops had been planted.
A mixture of traditional, a number of letterboxes and a couple of multis all finishing with a Lab in Boorowra..
A few DNFs but mostly straightforward finds.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Joshwa27.

I'm leaving the new Mrs Mister JD at home while I go to care for my aged Mum in Brisbane for a couple of weeks while my brother visits his grandkids in Sydney. I'm looking forward to seeing
mum but sad to be leaving my wife at home. I'm taking four days for the trip because
I want to find caches, and long trips are way in my past due to my crook back. Caching is ideal as I can stop and start practically as I like. Today's leg is home to Dubbo. I got off to a late start, and found the traffic out of Canberra was horrendous, so I took a back road just out of town, and finished up doing part of a power trail before I got to Yass. I really enjoyed that road, but took too long and found only a few more on the rest of the day. I did stop quite a few times for my back and to give Sophie GeoSchnauzer a bit of a run. Sophie is a bit sad, we have just lost her lifetime companion, Oscar GeoSchnauzer at the ripe old age of fifteen and a half.
I've solved quite a lot of your history series, and had lots of fun and a little frustration doing it. It will be harder to find them all, as I don't get out as often as I used to. However, a little astute route planning will get me there eventually. Four today is a record for me, I have only ever founf one in a day before.
I liked this location, and the detour to get here.
Find no 16 of 19 today. Thanks, Joshwa27

On the way to Eugowra from Canberra for the NSW orienteering champs. Dropped by here for a quick find. TFTC.
Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache Joshwa27!
Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.
Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.
The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some interesting caches along the way.
I have quite enjoyed the opportunity to complete some of the caches in this history series and its nice to see a few mystery caches scattered around the countryside.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle and the cache.

Enjoyed researching this one. Found very easily due to perfect coordinates and the cache visible from my car as I pulled up. Sitting half visible to your average muggle, I returned it to its location with some additional light cover.
I was not able to work out the History caches in Orange, so I was surprised to see the green tick from the checker for this one. Good spot for a cache.
After belatedly realising that today is a 'leap day', I decided to set out on a caching expedition.
Leaving Yass a bit after 3pm, I headed to Bookham, across to Galong and then to Boorrowa before arriving back home in Yass at 6:30. A nice drive with 15/15 caches found.
Final cache for the day. I had done the research on this mystery cache a few weeks ago. I had trouble with finding any information on one particular question, but answers to other questions narrowed down the missing value, reducing the search area to a tolerable level. Happily it was in the first location I checked (quite exposed actually, I re-hid with additional natural camouflage).

Last minute opportunity arose for a trip to Parkes to assist with an SES course this weekend and being a five-hour journey, it was sensible to take a break from driving every so often. What a coincidence there also seems to be a cache at appropriate intervals and I had solves for a few more in the “History of” series I wouldn’t normally be heading past. So many headstones for a small town cemetery, it looked like a city skyline!

With a day off and time to spare before the next thing I have on, I decided on doing the caching trail that goes: Temora, Young, Murringo, Boorowa, Yass and back home through Harden. This trail and picking up some new thongs from ‘Rivers’ lead to a great day out. I started the day with the new tree climb in Young which has been on the list for quite some time and then picked up some trigpoints which has been on my to-do-list for quite some time. After this I went to ‘Rivers’ and then headed out to my next stop which was the mystery cache in Murringo. Next were the caches in Boorowa, Yass for lunch and then head home via Harden. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for placing the caches I found and for the enjoyment they brought me today.

Day 2 of our Canberra roadtrip. We're driving from Orange into Canberra in the rain. On my way from Canberra to Grenfell and had this puzzle solved last time I visited but didn't come to Boorowa though. Very quite at GZ when I arrived and a quick find as well. With coords presolved, nibletricecakes and I came out for a drive to this lovely area. Mindful of muggles nearby, parked car to hide cache searching. Quickly came up with the find.
With a bit of deducing and searching, our group worked out the likely co-ords. The puzzle checker said we were incorrect, but we thought to try it anyway.

ACTchil and I worked on this puzzle leading up to this little geocaching camping trip with 4 as 1 and the geohounds, the only thing was that the geocheck sum kept coming up as incorrect. On Sunday night Charlie_Bear and I decided to give it another go and we go some help from Susan, we double checked my answers from before and there were a couple different however still no luck with geocheck sum, so we emailed CO to see if we were close. We got up this morning and I couldn't check my messages so we decided just to go to the final coords that we worked out. We got to gz and yep we found the obvious hint, had a look, saw a dead ferret and walked away from the smell. I thought I would throw the ferret away from the tree anyway. There were a couple of men setting up for a funeral so we decided to go over and ask when the does the cemetery backdate to and they were from a funeral directors in Young but suggested to look at some older graves over the back to get some clues. We walked around and our answer for this clue fitted and then we looked up and there was ACTchil waving at us, he saw that ferret was gone and went back in and found it so yippee another puzzled solved and found. On our way home my internet came up and there was an email from CO with his response, thanks for getting back to us glad we gave it a go and thanks for bringing us to this little spot.
The cache and log are in good condition. A long line of funeral cars drove slowly through Boorowa. I am pleased we avoided getting mixed up in that. TFTC Joshwa27.
On a quiet weekend I decided go for a drive in the country. I mostly spent the day driving from Goulburn to Blayney. I managed to see many great spots along the way before spending the night at Blayney. On Monday I headed home with only a few cache stops along the way.
Thanks.

In Boorowa for the CMCA motorhome rally, so I had done the research befire arriving. This was a lovely way to learn a little of the history of this pleasant but rather wet place. Today I had the chance to collect this one which was easily found Thanks Joshwa27
Found on a trip to Parkes. Absolutely freezing today so it was good that it was a quick find. TFTC
On a run with LuckyL10n up around these parts to grab a few of these neat History of caches. Had a lot of fun researching the info and learning a little about the area. Once at GZ, the cache was found after a short search.
Thanks Joshwa27……great little series.

#4629 - 08:00; This was the first of thirteen finds in the History of..... series today on a day run from Canberra to Carcoar with Sol de lune. Found ourselves in what would become familiar surroundings as the day progressed, and once we were at GZ and nice quick find was had. TFTC Joshwa27
As we were approaching GZ the batteries in our GPS went flat but we had enough information to be able to locate the cache anyway. It was a typical hide in a familiar sort of position, so no problems were presented. The log soon had our name on it and we were on our way. Thank you Joshwa27 for another cache in the History of ......... series which is taking us to places we have never been before.
Heading to Orange for a few days, I set my sights on solving a few of these history puzzles that lay along our route. This was an easy find on a convenient side road, and then we continued on our way on a lovely sunny winter day. Thanks Joshwa27.
10861. Found with AngelG27 and specimenX ("SAFi" in most of the logs) on a day run up Cowra way.
With the bad weather down the coast postponing a planned run that way, a quick rethink had us planning this run instead. A early start had the three of us hit the Highway before 7.30 and not too long after we started our caching spree. Awesome run, with quite a few of the "History of..." puzzles solved and (all but one) collected, as well as 5 First To Finds making a great caching day with my new [I'm not allowed to call them Caching Wenches ] invasion buddies.
This was the first find for the day, and in a sign of things to come specimenX made a quick find. Cache retrieved, signed, and returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks JOSHWA27 !! First of many for today !

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company! We signed with the acronym SAFi ("i" for invasion ).
This one was the first cab off the rank and it was an easy find for us at this spot. Great work on these "History Of..." puzzles-I love country towns so it's a great way to learn about their history
Thanks for the hide, *JOSHWA27*

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs.
1st cache of the day and a quick find by SpecimenX. This was the warm up cache, and we found quite a few more like this one. We enjoyed working out these history caches - we felt like we knew something about the town before we arrived! TFTC Joshwa27!

I did some homework last night as we were travelling through Boorowa today. So after researching and coming up with the correct answer it was just a matter of locating the cache. As I carefully had a look on one side of the tree a rabbit broke cover on the other side giving me a fright, and geo-wife a laugh. I enjoyed reading the history of this town. We TNLN thanks.
TFTC out with mgrocks & mcrunbecks & jwstorming we all predict it is 38 metres way past its coordinates
Lunch at the local pub to sort the cache out, travelled to the GZ and found this one by a wide search of the area a good 15 m away. TFTC *JOSHWA27*
Found with geo buddies who did most of the research. Very interesting cache. TFTC.
