Flooding in the area over recent months has caused damage to this hide with half of it being washed away.
After extensive searching, half of this cache was eventually found right where it should be, but it was covered with lots of debris that had washed through the area with the floods in late 2022. This gave us momentum to continue our search for the other half that contained the logbook, convinced it couldn't be that far away, but sadly we couldn't find it today.
We didn't attempt this one today. There was a loud creaking in the area. A large tree is leaning on another and that is the only thing stopping it toppling over. There was only a slight breeze, but the creaking noise had us a little nervous about venturing deeper in to search for the cache. We will definably be back another time to look for our DNFs and DNA (didn't not attempt such as this one) and to do more of this beautiful trail. Thanks Glanville Girls.
In the area to attend an event this afternoon. The creek is certainly flowing.
Nice hide.
Thanks Glanville Girls all good here

On a short road trip to Ballarat today to attend my 2nd ever CITO event for June. I made a few stops before getting there and ended up collecting quite a few adventure lab locations in town before heading to the CITO where there was quite a good turnout because although it was cool there was zero wind and the sun popped out as well so it was perfect.
After doing the adventure lab I continued on this trail and as I arrived at this one it was in 2 pieces, all fixed up now though. Nicely constructed. A favourite from me.
Thanks Glanville Girls for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC

Walked the trail today to do welfare check on all the caches. Replaced the log on this one.
Cute find, however log is saturated! Added a new tiny scrap of paper (usually I have a notebook on me but not today ️) so needs maintenance. Last find on this trail for today I think, keen to come back soon! TFTC!
Tricky find but the clue sort of helped. Needs maintenance as the log is shot to pieces with wetness.
So after being up this way 2 weeks ago for the grand opening / launch of the brand spanking new Ballarat Geo Tour and managing to get FTF’s on all 4 of the ones I did, I noticed a few events on this weekend up this way and so being a long weekend I booked myself into a motel for 3 nights to hopefully finish it off and to attend the events on up here.
Left Melbourne after work and headed up the Western Fwy boy that Fwy can get busy and be very slow.
Turned off just after Ballan and took the back roads in instead.
A good nights sleep and up early to make a start on the BGT caches around the lake and then any others I come across.
A very chilly morning but the sun has come out and now time for a walk so I can warm up.
After find the tour cache on the Goldfields track I decided to follow the Yarrowee Creek trail to try and find a couple of them and one thing led to another and I ended up finding them all along here and ended up at Gong Gong Reservoir reserve.
This was the fifth one and this one needs some TLC as I found the original outer cache container in 2 different spots with no inner container.
Placed them back together and sat it where I thought it belonged.
Thanks Glanville Girls TFTC.

Found it! Cache is very very wet. Can not write on log.
Put a new piece of paper in it but really needs attention.
Also think it may have fallen from its original spot

Seems to have been done recent cutting down of trees in the location. Unable to find
Decided to head here for a walk and a bonus of the hunt for caches. What a beautiful area for a walk but man is it busy. Almost got skittled twice by people on bikes
This one had me stumped for a bit but eventually I found the clever well constructed cache. Yep log is wet but managed to sign it. Tftc

Another fun weekend assault on Victorian caches with Trigger_Fish where many caches were found, many miles were covered in the geomobile and some miles were walked.
Another quick find along the trail, thanks Glanville Girls.

I am in Ballarat for the day from Melbourne. Made a special trip over here just to do some of the lovely trails.
Great camera on this one. This trial is a lot busier than I expected it to be. Quite a few muggles. TFTC Glanville girls

Making the most of the Boxing Day public holiday we headed up to Ballarat via Stieglitz and Moorabool Falls to seek out some unfound caches that have been taunting us for a long while now on our map!
The Yarrowee Creek Trail series has certainly been our nemesis since it was published as only one half of the team is able to ride a bike. As it turned out today however we decided for the fit team member to walk one half of the trail and get a start on this series on this very warm afternoon. Starting from the Gong Gong car park, he made his way to Springs road enjoying the walk through the tree lined trail which helped to cool him down at times. Each cache was found in their hidden locations making for a successful run today.
Another well constructed hide, blending in perfectly with its surroundings that was well hidden. Once Mr Triton looked in the correct spot he knew exactly what type of hide he was in for
Thanks Glanville Girls for the well constructed cache series.

Another search that took a little longer than anticipated, but we got there. Shouldn't have read the hint, which actually prolonged the hunt a little bit. Another nice Glanville Girls construction! Signed log, and on we went. TFTC

Using the clue, we inspected everything closely resembling said hint. Widened the search and found the cleverly hidden cache over near the fence.

Took a while to find this, stood upright for next finder, was a bit closer to the fence than GPS indicated. Nice hide though.

Wow a clever hide! Found by the 2nd smallest geokid. Log is very wet, managed to wring enough water out of it to sign but might need some maintainance. TFTC
Found on 2nd attempt with niece took ages but found at night. Coords kept jumping. Didnt sign log, log is soaked and didnt have a spare. Tftc
Clever hide, wasn’t sure at first whether it would be the cache but picked it up anyway and it fell into my hand. TFTC
Towards the end of the day we decided to walk a section of the Yarrowee Creek Trail. It was a very pleasant walk in a lovely area. Despite reasonably accurate coordinates, it took a few minutes of hunting before we located this well designed and presented cache. Unfortunately water had got inside the container and the logbook was wet, mouldy and totally unusable. We cleaned out the container and left a temporary replacement logbook but a waterproof container is required. Thanks Glanville Girls for another good hide.
In Ballarat for a reunion.
I went for a drive to find some caches and this was one of them I found.
The logbook is very wet and hard to sign.

I arrived in Ballarat early for the two events, so decided to make a start on the Yarrowee Creek Trail. This was another nice and quick find. The log book is rather wet, but there was nothing I could do about it. I was still able to write in it thanks to my PowerTank pen.
Thanks for the cache, Glanville Girls.

Up this way for a canon collective event photographing birds or prey this morning. Wow what an awersome experience! Thought we would go for a walk this afternoon and grab some caches before driving back to Melbourne. Thanks for placing this cache, our second quickest find of the day.
With the warm April weather I set off exploring the Yarrowee Creek Trail with plenty of different and creative hides along the way. This is a good piece of camo that works well in this location.
Thanks to Glanville Girls for placing this cache.

Spent some time looking to no avail so continued on my way ..... stopped again on the way back and "bingo" ....... another very clever hide. TFTC
#14162. Rob suggested a ride on this trail this morning before we left town and headed home. A nice short, quick collection of caches and a bike ride too. Well not exactly. It took us over 2 hours to do just 16 finds. Almost every one entailed quite a search before the hide was located. Not sure that 1.5D is correct in most cases along this trail.
I see this cache was placed in 2015. Things have certainly changed since then with a very flash new house with very stylish back deck facing right this way. We felt very obvious searching here but all seemed quiet at the house so we persevered and Rob eventually located the hide. Might call it logged rather than stumped these days.
Thanks Glanville Girls

Our last day in Ballarat, BettyBoo3747 and I decided to go and try the caches along the Yarrowee Creek. A lovely ride although parts were not as flat as advertised
I'm also not sure that they as low a difficulty as shown, but, as we found the lot, maybe they are!
A nice collection of creative hides and a great ride.
The hide is a bit damaged, but still intact. The log was a bit damp, but still writable.
Luckily no muggle problems today, although that house is now very close.
Thanks, Robmc.

The muggles were not kind to me here [:o]
On me first ride past someone was mowing the vast lawn on t'other side of the fence !!
When I came back past a couple of hours later,
a muggle kid was playing on t'other side of the fence
I did manage to poke a couple of likely hiding places,
but missed the cache find

DAB and I had planned to go out yesterday but with the weather not looking nice we pulled the pin on that idea and came up with a new idea to take us into Ballarat on this nice Sunday morning. We left early after waking up in darkness due to daylight savings but had a great, fun morning out. We found this one quickly as it was opened. Nice idea that we have seen a few times before. Stamped and returned as found.

With a CITO to attend this morning, I teamed up with Na'wal for an early morning caching run. We left Geelong in the dark, arriving in the Ballarat area at first light. We found a great mix of caches this morning, containing a great mix of varied D/T. Thanks again to all of the CO's for their efforts.
Wow, a nice bit of work has gone into this. Luckily I had seen this type before. TFTC Glanville Girls

Find #1429 for me. Found with jtnsilo on a trip from Bendigo. This was a quick find for us here today. While we were there, some muggles walking along the track noticed us and probably wondered what we were up to. We tried to be as discreet as possible, but it's not always easy when you deviate away from the main path. Thanks for the yet another clever cache placed along this trail Glanville Girls!
gound @1440 with Claybol on a regular trip to Ballarat. Thanks for the cache placement all good at GZ.
Back for another look today. Took the hint a bit too literally the first time which hampered my search a bit, but today i found this cleverly constructed hide after only a few minutes searching a bit more outside the box.
Thx for another great cache Glanvillegirls.

*The Northern section of the Yarrowee River Trail, offered everything for a great bike ride - a variety of scenery, birds, a fairly level trail and of course caches.* After admitting defeat at Water Watch, it was a relief to pick up a cleverly camouflaged cache here.
Thanks Glanville Girls for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Nice cache this one. Little bit of bush bashing required but fun none the less. Found with emma_sunshine96. Signed as SS00
Had to do a bit of mild bush bashing, whilst being careful not to destroy the flora. But a really fun cache!!! thank you!!! Found with ShortStop (logged as SS00).
Up from the south to have a look about and collect a few caches at the same time.
Thanks Glanville Girls for this cache. Found it retrieved it signed it and replaced it.

A quick and easy find as we cache our way through the area with mcsee&petal today. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
After the floods of last week, I suspected this area of the trail would be well and truly under water. A walk from Springs road to the tunnel and beyond today revealed the damaged and devastation caused by the flood waters to this area. There were many trees down and the debris from the flood extended way beyond the banks of the river here and many metres into the surrounding parkland. Miraculously this one managed to survive the flood waters and was found washed further downstream. It's now back at GZ. All good to go again.
After heavy rains and flooding in the area this one needs to be taken offline for a little bit
Catching up with some late logs, therefore this unfortunately is going to be one of 'those logs'. I apologize in advance for the generic log, A combination of limited time and too many to log dictates that a generic log is best. I have enjoyed the hunt and being outdoors in this great country of ours, partaking in a pastime that I thoroughly enjoy. I usually head out by myself, but I thank those that have had the misfortune of my company in some of these ventures.
Thanks Glanville Girls for placing this cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1140. Happily, we found this cache quickly and easily. Our last for our morning in Ballarat as we head for home again. Our thanks to Glanville Girls.
Leaving Geelong and coming up through Anakie and then the Bungal State Forest and now up here to have a look and hopefully add another smiley to my tally.
All very quiet around here today even though the day has the sun shining and low winds but still a little cool.
Back near to where I parked the White Beast and this was one of a few quick finds.

Out for a wet weather walk along the trail and stopped to grab this one. Nice hide.
On what started as a cold wet day, Bogonghazy and I took the geodogs caching. Located this one fairly quickly. Many thanks for this cute little one in such a beautiful park on what turned out to be a lovely day.
Headed to Ballarat on this cold windy day with Leetalicious and the two geodogs for some much needed exercise for the lot of us. As there'd been a few added overnight, it certainly made it worthwhile for us to start at the Gong Gong Reservoir end, and work/walk our way towards town.
No-one about at the house, and great coords again made this a simple find. Terrific construction too, love the work put into this one, adding to the faves.
My thanks again to Glanville Girls for the exercise and this great series
