After the floods of last week, I suspected this area of the trail would be well and truly under water. A walk from Springs road to the tunnel today revealed the damaged and devastation caused by the flood waters to this area. There was many trees down and the debris from the flood extended way beyond the banks of the river here and many metres into the surrounding parkland. After searching the area extensively, the cache container was found many metres away from GZ, but it will need to remain offline until I can fix the mechanism at GZ.
After heavy rains and flooding in the area this one needs to be taken offline for a little bit
Catching up with some late logs, therefore this unfortunately is going to be one of 'those logs'. I apologize in advance for the generic log, A combination of limited time and too many to log dictates that a generic log is best. I have enjoyed the hunt and being outdoors in this great country of ours, partaking in a pastime that I thoroughly enjoy. I usually head out by myself, but I thank those that have had the misfortune of my company in some of these ventures.
Thanks Glanville Girls for placing this cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1355. The easiest of all so far this afternoon. An entertaining afternoon, plenty of walking steps, and we're getting a greater appreciation of the Trail. Our thanks to Glanville Girls.
In the area today on a short trip managed to find a little time to check out a few caches, many thanks to Glanville Girls for the effort and placement of this cache. TNLNSL

Leaving Geelong and coming up through Anakie and then the Bungal State Forest and now up here to have a look and hopefully add another smiley to my tally.
All very quiet around here today even though the day has the sun shining and low winds but still a little cool.
Just standing and wondering and then I caught a glimpse of something out of place.

On what started as a cold wet day, Bogonghazy and I took the geodogs caching. On the way down the path we weren't able to locate this cache. We caught up with fellow cacher, Dazza1, who pointed us in the right direction after watching us stumble around and literally walking over, past and around the cache itself. How we missed this I don't know but got it eventually. Many thanks for this little challenge on what ending up being a lovely day.
Headed to Ballarat on this cold windy day with Leetalicious and the two geodogs for some much needed exercise for the lot of us. As there'd been a few added overnight, it certainly made it worthwhile for us to start at the Gong Gong Reservoir end, and work/walk our way towards town.
We'd searched for this one for ages, and decided to have another crack at it on our return to the car. Thankfully for us, we ran into Dazza1, who agreed to play the "hotter/colder" game if we helped him with one we'd found and he'd missed. Have no idea how we missed it, it's so obvious once you 'see' it
My thanks again to Glanville Girls for the exercise and this great series

So this challenge was happened upon by one of the girls, by accident! Another quite different cache but she had seen a similar one once before so was very pleased with herself. The cache and cover have come adrift so maybe could be repaired. SL TFT terrific C.
1:21:00 PM. The better half spotted this series on the GPS so off we headed. A great day for a walk. We looked and looked for this one on the way down but no luck. Decided on another look as we were passing again. We went round in circles and up and down. Way too much time lost here and I was ready to give it away and get back to watch the F1 race when I walked from a different direction. Spotted something we hadn't seen earlier and that was the cache. Boy were we glad to find the cache and sign the log. Don't know how we missed it for so long. A great series and a nice walk. Thanks Glanville Girls for placing this cache.
After attending the Leap Day Breakfast Event, I took the opportunity to do a bit of caching. I'd attempted this previously, but came up empty handed. This time I managed to locate the well camoed cache. Thanks Glanville Girls for the challenging hide.
Now that was a great spot to hide it, I'm so happy doing these. Thank you.

Stumbled across this one by fluke more of a lucky find than skill, tricky hide. TFTC
Find #2441. Found @ 18:25 with LouiseAnn, Annoying Tarbit and SteMicMitSar.
Today's plan was to travel to Ballarat for a nominated cache adventure. We had way too many caches on the list to actually achieve, but we gave it a go anyway.
We decided to do a subset of this series, and grab 2 - although SteMicMitSar had his treadly and decided to give the lot a crack.
This one took us a while to locate, and when it was found it was found by the person that had obscured the cache with his transportation - but I'm not going to name names.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Glanville Girls

*13/02/2016, Found @ 6:27 PM, Find # 5087.*
Today I headed across to Ballarat to continue my quest to find the caches that have been nominated for the 2015 Victorian caching awards as well as a few others that have good D/T combo's.
I joined forces again with Annoying Tarbit, LouiseAnn and Sir-J-Oz as they too where working on the same quest that I was.
The other 3 were just going to do this one but as I had my push bike in the car, I decided to get it out so that I could give the rest of the trail a go.
At this one we were all looking around here there and every where else for a while without any luck until I went back to my bike and for some reason had a look at something I had noticed, it just happened to be the cache.
I didn't park my bike on it but it was very close by.

I had a day planned in and around Ballarat focussed on caches nominated for the upcoming awards with Louise Ann, SirJ-Oz and SteMicMitSar. This one certainly had us guessing as it has done with a few others by the sound of it. We weren't helped by one member of the party placing his bike in a strategically limiting position. I walked by but only had eyes for the bike so missed the cache. Luckily Steve redeemed himself by making the find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Glanville Girls.

The call of dinner was approaching, so we decided to skip most of this series, and just headed to the cache that has been nominated as Best Traditional. Boy this was a tricky one, we all hunted extensively, but I blame SteMicMitSar for this one taking so long, as he had parked his bike on it. The only consolation being that at least he found it! We picked this cache up at 6:25pm.
Another day of picking up caches nominated for the upcoming Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. SirJ-Oz and I started the day off with a couple of caches before join forces to Annoying Tarbit and also SteMicMitSar for part of the day. We cached until late into the night and I made it home in the early hours. It was a big day, over 19000 steps, but it was worth it!!
Thanks for the cache Glanville Girls.

Starting out on a caching journey to Queensland with a side trip to Ballarat to pick up a fellow traveller I have used this opportunity to once again continue my quest to visit as many 2015 Victorian Geocache of the Year Award nominees as possible before the event on 27 February, find out more at the event page http://coord.info/GC679HV
Searched for a bit in all the obvious places and was about to give up when one last glace at something that looked out of place revealed the prize.
Note that the camouflaging device has come adrift from the container but container is still in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache Glanville Girls
Congratulations on another worthy nomination.

Suscoe was up in the Ballarat area today enjoying a delightful wander about.
It was a beaut Summer's day with some cloud cover and a gentle breeze to keep the temperature very mild indeed for this date of the year. In short it was the ideal day for a caching trip.
A few other folks on the trail now.
Not driven around the bend with this one but we could see how that might happen.
This is an impressive trail, we remember riding this once before and enjoying it.
Thanks to the Glanville Girls.

Right. That's better. After 2 dnf' sit was good to have the geoson make the find. Well camo'ed.
Congratulations!

No luck. Left 10ish this morning from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and stopped on the way near Gisbourne to the old Wombat Forest Stash cache. Still too early to check into accommodation in Sebastapol so decided to do the caches in this area as recommended by a local. Even got the kids bikes out although found some parts was a bit of a struggle.
Maybe the trickiest of these caches that I found. Trusted the GPS and was rewarded.
Nice one!
Nice one!
Or gps turned out to be spot on with this one, but our eyes were not. Receiving a hint from recently met Missy and friends allowed cache top be found...nice hide. Thanksâș tftc.
Found with Cherad while muggle pa took the geokids to the nearby playground. We knew this one was going to take a bit after having two previous attempts at it. It was only after PAF did we have any luck. And as in previous logs this one did prove to be a doozy. Well done Glanville girls. This one, like many of your others provided us with a challenge and is worthy of a fav point.
Finally we are able to get back to this area, after having to leave before finishing last time, and no luck last time we tried, as time was getting the better of us. This time, we had more time and were about to have a better search, finally it was in hand, signed and replaced, such a sneaky hide, definetly a favourite, Thanks Glanville Girls for the hunt.
Last cache of the day for us as we revisited this trail with LumpyJRB to collect some smileys that had eluded us the last time we visited. This time we just wandered up to the GZ and had it in hand within seconds... Makes you wonder how the heck we messed about for so long on our previous two attempts. I guess seeing it from a new angle helped things out. A neat and tricky hide. TFTF.
Trees wreaked havoc on our first pass, but with determination and perseverance was able to locate this tricky find on return to the car. Thanks!
TFTC. After being surrounded by muggles at the last two on this trail we came up the goods here. Excellent camo.
Found on a pleasant day to be out doing a few caches with Tommyh200. Tommyh200 made the find on this one, log signed and off to the next. TFTC
Found with The Drovers and Team Crackers while visiting the area. Another toughy for us. We persisted in the area of the coords and in they end they were fairly good given that tree cover. Another trick one!
We made plans to spend the weekend in Creswick with Alansee and The Drovers with the intention of picking up a few of the bike trail series and this one was definitely on the list.
We started at Birdwatching and were happy that we did as this way had the most downhill runs making for a fantastic ride for all of us.
We pulled up at this one and had to stop our searching several times whilst waiting for passing push bikes, joggers and even a couple pushing a pram.
Again we exhausted locations to look and resorted to the phone a friend option and even with quite good hint it still took us about ten minutes before we were able to locate the hide and add our names to the log.
Thanks for the hide another favourite point from us.

Day 2 camped at Creswick with Alansee and Team Crackers, we headed out to grab some caches.
We found a mixture of bike trails, walks and drive by's, which made a fun day.
Most caches were found after a short search, some a little trickier.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, Glanville Girls, for us and others to find.

A day off today with both kids (curriculum day) meant a walk along this lovely trail to try and find a few more caches. After missing this one on the walk in we attempted it on the way back out (after a play at the park and a phone call with a geo friend). Master 4 came up with the goods here. Again you have done a brilliant job on this trail. We will be back to tackle the last few
This one took me two visits to find, the camo is so well done that I was about to give up when I located the container
Thanks for placing, and a well deserved favorite added

A beautiful Spring Day called out for some cache finding.
We headed out to Gong Gong to do the Yarrowee Trail.
Living at the far end of this trail it was nice to walk this part today.
The hides here were all very unique and fun.
Thanks for the hide here Eddie's stick he had been carrying came in very handy here.

I was tired out after the walk though.

Aptly named, nearly drove me round the bend with jumpy GPS and nowhere else to look but... truly evil. Fav. TNLN TFTC Glanville Girls.

I was nearly driven round the bend looking for this one. I thought I'd found it at one stage when I removed something, but it wasn't to be. Maybe another time.
Yay! We found it..... Eventually!! After investigating a hole in a tree for far too long we pafd. Thank you for a very tricky cache!!
Out for a walk along this lovely part of the walking track on such a nice day. Thanks to the CO for a very tricky hide. Tftc
This one stumped me last visit but today with all hands on deck and a bit of scratching around, this cache was located, the log signed and replaced. Thanks Glanville Girls.
This one is a tricky hide but with a few people looking it was found, a favourite added.
Very fiendish hide this one, I can easily see why why there are 3 DNF logs. A great hide thanks.
Sorry after 20 minutes of going round the bend we couldn't spot it. And this was our second attempt.
Our second DNF for the day. We looked and looked and looked, went off to do more caches, came back and looked and looked and looked...... But no luck today. I just dont think I am seeing it from the right angle. Will bring the kids back another time to turn this frown upside down. Thanks for the hunt Glanville Girls.
I was heading to Ballarat for some kayak caching and as I approached the outer limits of Ballarat stopped to check for any new caches in the area and this new series popped up - and I was only 30 mins away. Running on a pretty tight schedule - I had just enough time to go for a nice walk. With the car parked I headed along the track, and I set a limit of ten minutes to search for each cache.
A DNF on this one today.
Thanks Glanville Girls and I'll be back.

Stopped on the way home for this. Took some searching. Nicely hidden.
Really pretty spot with the birds chirping and the sun setting. Plenty of jiggers too.
Look forward to completing the rest in the series.

I couldn't seem to find this one today however I did not spend too much time looking as I was tight for time. I will be back.
