I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi Kev the OrienteerThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
Went for a 5-6 km cycle ride on the rail trail from Middlemarch to collect a few caches. Unfortunately this wasn’t one of them. Had a reasonably good look but couldn’t find anything. I might keep tabs on this one to see if anyone does manage to find it in the near future.
A nice quick find. Second place I looked. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Ranfurly to Lawrence today, With some biking and some walking too. Another glorious day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We found this one tucked under a rock over by the fence.
We have replaced it to match the clue and GZ on my GPS
all is good inside
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Nothing at hint location but saw something in the ditch. Obviously fell out. Completely frozen as wet so left on the fence to thaw and dry and will pick up on the way back.
We stopped for this one on the way out, but there were about 10 muggles resting, so we left it for the return trip. Nice bit of history inside. Thanks.
On a trip south from Tauranga. Nice to collect smiles along the way. Cycling the OTR. Apologies for some previous logs where I forgot to change my log template. Enjoying the fab scenery around these parts. Met up with Dee+ME to cycle with as our muggle hubbies we’re more interested in other things lol.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

The plan was hatched a while ago to get these caches - now that I have an e-bike I can keep up with the biker in the family! . A little cool today but with all the jumping on and off our bikes we kept ourselves warm enough. 13 caches in all, then a nice lunch at the kissing gate. TFTC.
A short stop on the last day of the Rail Trail. A nice way to keep the kids entertained! TFTC
Today finished cycling the central otago rail trail an awesome experience. With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC
Nice day on the rail trail. Collected trackable tag GSQWBY, but Tamati was not connected.
Yah really pleased to be riding Middlemarch to Ranfurly part of the rail trail today. Stopped in Middlemarch last night and meeting up with family for Easter at Naseby.
Glad to be able to pick up caches along the way

A quick find between cyclists and also a good place to stop for lunch in the sun. Left TB.
windy on this section today. clear views of the rock and pillar range. spectacular. tftc
On the bikes now to collect up the caches along this section of the rail trail. Most were easy enough to find, so we made good progress. As we were later in the afternoon, most of the riders heading towards us had already finished up for the day. Cache all good here. tftc
Found with Cympul. We had no clues. First finders since March 2020. Pretty chuffed
Had the most wonderful trip completing the rail trail. Thanks so much for popping these caches along the way - so enjoyable
Couldn't get reception here but fossicked around following the hint. Other riders approaching so have up.
Hi everyone,
All my caches will be temporarily disabled until the current crisis is over.

Our last day on the trail heading from Hyde to Middlemarch. Quick find here and we were heading back along the trail.
.Im off on peddle power with my trusty steed Jill along the Middlemarch Ride the Rail Trail. As we often do on cycle trails we play The Seagnoid snags and I follow up and tag while he goes ahead to snag the next one. By the time I reached here he had this one done and dusted. Cheers. A group of cyclists had stopped here for a rest. Thanks for the cache page history..
Tuesday 23 April - Outrum, Taieri Gorge, Middlemarch and Sutton today. With Jack and Jill along for bike ride at Middlemarch, in the mix.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Thanks for the nice history of the rail station here. Sorely lacking at others around. Bit of a cycle tour stopped for a rest and a drink. but I found the cache while they were busy chatting and not watching. The cache wasn't where it belonged, by the way, just tossed under the ramp looking like a bit of rubbish. By the time I had signed the log and taybeedragon had arrived some had moved on and I was able to return it according to the hint.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Spent the day cycling from Ranfurly back to Middlemarch and finding caches on the way. Tucked away
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
While in the Dunedin area we were mostly searching for the old caches that fill a gap on our date placed grid and some Challenge caches that fill a gap on our D/T grid.
As we ended up in Middlemarch we decided to go for a ride and check out a little bit of the rail trail. We did not see any one else on bikes, maybe the riders had all got to their destination by that time.
It was getting late evening by the time we were here and we were completely amazed at how many bikes were around, gosh the rail trail must be a saviour for these wee towns.
The cache was a quick find, the log was signed and returned as we had found it.
Thank you for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

Out and about on an other caching trip to get to 3000 finds before the end of the year. This was an easy park and grab and on to the next one. TFTC
Next stop on the bike ride. An easy find this time. Such a lot of activity - the railway was certainly a vital link.
A good cache for the Otago rail trail. Couldn’t reach the cache so had to go underneath the bench to get it.
A picturesque spot (aren't they all, round here?), and interesting to read of the station's history...we will certainly be back! Cheers Kev!
Doing this via memory so hopefully have the right cache. Cache was lying relatively out in open. Signed log and hid as best as possible. TFTC
By this stage of my caching adventures on the rail trail I had a pretty good idea of what the cache would look like, but this was unlike the others (i.e. bigger) and thus couldn't be hidden in the same way. I initially tried to find using sight, but it ended up being found only when I was pretty much next to it and used my hands - tftc!
I was down on my knees when the rest of our contingent arrived. Comments about building inspectors started the rounds. Thanks for the cache KevtheOrienteer
Muggles about but they were not looking. In NZ to do the Otago Rail Trail. TFTC, and greetings from Melbourne.
Lovely day for a ride down this part of the rail trail - quite well populated with caches too!
In Middlemarch on a caching weekend with BCD. After visiting Sutton Salt Lake it was time to find a few more in the area before heading home. Nice quick find here. TFTC
Out for a ride on the Rail Trail and doing some cache maintenance along the way.
All good.

Last minute road trip to middlemarch with kjr.
Always good when you get two finds in the same place I remember the original nice quick find tftc

rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging
This was when we were in the South Island, doing the Otago cycle rail trail.
Sorry for the generic logs. But thank you to all the CO for the hides and the maintenance on all your caches.

Riding the Otago Rail trail with rebel98 and muggles from Hyde to Middlemarch, our last day.
Oh the horror, the horror, lost my pen, and for some reason Monyhans hut and South Log Creek did not load to the GPS. Being time pressured was unable to to cycle back, as we have a train to catch.
Thankfully had a black colouring pencil to sign the logs. So it was a bit of a squeeze and reach to get to the cache, but I found another smiley
Thanks for the hide.

Off for a late afternoon warm-up ride with friends along the rail trail before we set off tomorrow. This was a chance to collect a few caches and not get left behind while geocaching the next day. Quite a grovel and reach for this one. Thanks Kev from another orienteer.
Dog enjoyed a good run along the rail trail having been confined to the van while I was orienteering near Sutton and again while I visited a few of the salt lake caches. TCTC
The wide expanse of the Strath Taieri district is a wonderful backdrop to this old railway station. Some close inspection might be required to find this cache.
Seeing that I was staying in Middlemarch for a few days it would be rude of me not to do a few on the Rail Trail and this was the sixth for this afternoon. I biked to Rock and Pillars and back again, a return trip of 27km.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Took advantage of the long weekend and good weather to head to The Strath Taieri for some caching and camping. Hoping to get to #50

Found on the ground (again), probably caused by the wind, replaced with a rock each side but probably still not too secure. Nice container though.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Day 5 biking the rail trail. Cold, wet, not tempted to put too much time in searching caches in wet and cold places.... But this one was easy enough. TFTC!

While we were down here getting our very first Second to Find we decided to potter back along Ngapuna Road and collect a couple more caches
Mr remembers stopping here on the rail car while travelling back and forth to school in Dunedin
This was another where a more agile grandchild would have been a help but we managed
I LOVE the containers !

We had an absolutely lovely summer day on the rail trail. Stopped for a snack at Ngapuna and were happy to find a cache there as well! Cheers from Sweden! Tftc
