Another one down in these series, still a lot to go i think. Quick find. Found with Mogni. Today the aim was to do the OTD series - November and as many of the solved jigidi puzzles in the ghostly tales series as we passed on the way there or back. Any other caches we stamped on route were a bonus. For a change all the containers were in good shape and all had plenty of logbook space expect one that got replaced. The flies are out in flocks, not one or two at a time. No snakes were sighted but dozens of lizards were seen and a couple of kangaroos. Only 1 DNF for the day.

Once upon a time this would have been interesting to see, the cache was easily found and hopefully doesn’t go with the grader

Today I set out for the full day to the Murray
plains since the flooding has occurred and the main aim to find the new fireman helmet at Sedan. A total of 95 caches found for the day.

Thanks for the cache

Day 18 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.

Our last day together on this trip, we headed even further afield from Loxton. fitzy_1965, albida33 & I signed as MAF or FAM to save room.

Mannum was our target, along with two OTD series, some oldies and some nice D/T’s.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 19. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 13. For our last day of caching together, we had to look quite a far way off from Loxton. we ended up heading all the way to Mannum to visit two OTD series. Along the way there were several other aches to be found and importantly an Canberra Lab cache as well. Caching was with Fitzy_195, MinnieK and albida33 and logs were signed as F.A.M. or similar, It turned into quite a long late drive home but we have had a great few weeks caching during and after the Rutherglen event and I cannot wait to do it all again on even more South Australian cache series

Thanks for the cache earthlight

31,724. Found with minniek and albida33 (signing either as FAM or MAF to save room and just for fun) during another great day of caching in South Australia).

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 18. Today we headed out early to get two of the On This Day series (November and March) plus the usual cherry-picking around Mannum and Palmer, before finishing up some Trads around Loxton that we have driven past far too many times ! We got to do the ferry ride at Swan Reach twice again which we always enjoy Wink This was the next find of the day, and it was a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

Thanks earthlight !!

Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.

Back in SA for harvest work. Spending a few days in Mannum. With the extreme weather of yesterday we werent sure we could access all of the caches that were our target for the day! We had no need to go on the main road but noted the detours in place and the ferry was surely busy! Surprised

A part of our day took in November of OTD series and it was possibly the hardest of the whole series that we have completed. Im sure the grey day and the constant drizzle did not help. But smilies all around on completion. Razz

I was pulled over on the side of the road, and two women traveling in the opposite direction stopped to ask if I was ok, and then immediately realized what I was up to. They are occasional geocachers themselves. We had a great chat.

Good ol Earthlight: dependable, reliable. I’ve just had a torrid time with a new cache further north, so this offering was a welcome return to form, thank you.

Checked on this today ........ it had definately gone ...... in fact most of the roadside verge had also gone with the widening of the road.
Have replaced it under a SPOR (suspicious pile of rocks) in the vegetation next to the road. Did not put it down the bank as the fenceline is currently down so there is likely to be activity when this is replaced.
The cache is a 200ml. black painted systema with a logbook, stashnote, pencil and half a dozen small polished rocks.
.......................................................................................................... if this goes again it might be worth moving it 150m. towards the river ... still in sight of the ruin.

Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, and with jesswrigley wanting a rest day at home, I decided to head up to the hills to do a couple of OTD series that hadn't been found for some time. These were the March OTD series, followed by the November OTD series, just around Mannum.
In addition, I stopped off at various locations to run along the trails and in reservations/parks to do some fitness. I enjoyed the journey out and about, and made stops in Charleston, around Tungkillo, Palmer, and Mannum. Mannum was a great little spot next to the river, and keen to return in the future to explore around here further.
It was a cloudy, coolish day that helped provide solo motivation at jumping in/out of the car so frequently.

Another geocache in this *Touch of the Past* series, with some nice ruins nearby. This was a quick find, with the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks earthlight for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We thought this was going to be a little back road but with the quantities of vehicles that passed us we assume it goes somewhere busy
We are often impressed at how much of some of these old homes are still standing after so many years. We cant imagine some of the homes built today lasting so long. Lovely views from this road looking down to the river, there is so much water in it at the moment the bird life is wo wonderful to watch.
The isolation of these places makes us wonder how they survived when something went wrong, how far to a doctor, or help with an out of control fire. They were built of tough stuff our pioneers.
Thanks earthlight for placing and maintaining this cache. Found it signed it and replaced it safe and sound as found TNLN

While camping on the Murray River we did a tour today with ilook4geo. What a wild day!! The winds were gale force and there was rain as well, so we only managed to find a few caches when conditions eased a little. We did the usual duties for each cache and then raced back to the shelter of the vehicle. A nice quick and easy find was made here. Thanks go to earthlight for making this contribution to the caching game.

This weekend we were supposed to be in Naracoorte and Robe, but my boss decided to come to Adelaide instead, so that scuppered that plan. I had hoped to finish the Popes series on the way home from Robe to finish the Cache Carnival and get the last souvenir, so had to hatch an alternate plan.
Decided to take advantage of the 'extra' hour on Sunday and head into the hills to seek some numbers and pick up a few others that had been burning a hole in my phone.
Had a great day out, had several dnfs (probably just me) and continued frustrations with cachly, seriously considering a gps now. The weather was superb for caching, it was a beaut of a day. Ended up with 69 finds, including 4 multis which made for an excellent day out. The scenery was spectacular and other than a few kangas and sheep didn't see much in the way of wildlife.
This cache was added to the list to find to break up the journey home. Found quickly, admired another old ramshackle and continued on my way. TFTC Earthlight

Day 4 of our SA trip had us leaving our camping spot in Palmer nice and early and heading towards Murray Bridge [^]. Of course there were many power trails collected including the geo art Smile

I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here Big Grin. I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area Smile. We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome Big Grin

A massive thanks here to earthlight for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!

jinta29 found your cache Touch Of The Past #10 today. This is my find #7340 and find #76 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again earthlight for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

Found by Mary & David at 1256. These are the caches we love. What had the family lived in before this substantial building, made from local stones, and with very large chimneys? Dis they have a happy life here? How many children were born and died? We hope they had some good times and were proud of their time here. Our thanks to earthlight.

TFTC - love the old ruin close by.

My Grandfather use to stay at this house occasionally. He drove sheep across from the highlands the other side of the river, across the river and up this hill to a farm close by. Before the locks went in the river there were many areas that stocks were drove from one side to the other.
