Had a wee look but could not find. There's half of a tree down close to where we thought it should have been

22-Jan-18
Spontainously after saying goodbye to my parents at the airpot, I decided to do this little Cache-trail.
I searched around 15 minutes, but I had no luck. So I decided to have a look at the last logs and found 2 more DNFs. I moved on and will have a look after a find Smile
I would recommend to do this Cache by bike, not like me by car.

Great little series this. We found all caches safe and in reasonably good shape while dodging trail bikes for the last few. Thanks the Wanglers. Random favourite points will be awarded
Today was the first day of a 5 day trip to Chch to catch up with family and friends. After an early start on the roads (about 5.20am) to beat the stop/go setups on the inland road south of Blenheim, we soon found ourselves in Nth Canterbury around lunchtime and with a good 4-5 hours to spare. Nothing for it then but to indulge in a bit of caching.
The targets included another canter (the third so far) around the Horses series, and a stab at the forks along the bank of the Waimakariri. And as the day progressed another goal presented itself - 51 caches for the day, a record for us and way more than we would dare to indulge in back home.
Thanks to all the COs for the caches, and apologies for the cut and paste of this log. Where we could maintain the logs we dipped into our ready supply of RITR paper to refresh them, but generally encountered few other issues.

Having the luxury of no worry about getting a park in town today, I took a leisurely morning drive/short strolls along the river to find some caches in the morning. I could not believe how high the water level was!! I started just before the sunset, and collected all along this section by 8:30am - what a great start to the day! And a great set of containers to be seen also! They gave me a smile for sure Smile TFTC!!!

15-Aug-17
Great hides and lots of smiles. GPS playing about a bit. TFTC Cool a fav.

30-Jan-17
Visiting here in Christchurch for a few weeks from Canada. Thought this looked like a fun area to do some caching but the entrance we picked to get to them was blocked so we are walking on a windy,29 degree day. The fork in the tree was not what we expected. Tftc sl

07-Dec-16
Had a great stroll along the river dreaming of a fondue woo hoo TFTC

06-Dec-16
Another really cute hide! No time to do the whole trail, but I must give this one a favourite point too. The grey heron was a bonus TFTC

03-Dec-16
My target today was to find 14 caches to bring my total finds for the 3rd Dec to a nice round 20, so the 11 remaining unfound caches in this series was on our hit list.
We took the lazy option and drove, as the road was plenty wide enough to park on the roadside and leave room for the passing traffic.
This was the first up, and a nice quick find for me while SW was changing into his shorts. TFTC.

03-Dec-16
#13419. We needed 10+ finds on the way back from Rangiora to get us up to 20 finds for Dec 3, and the remaining caches in this series fitted the bill perfectly. Troodles was on form for the first few. TFTC.

Something seems to have gone awry here and the cache needs maintenance. The fork was in place but the lid was missing and there was no log book.

28-Aug-16
Jess.daphne and I cached along this trail in our very early caching days. It was so much fun. Being newbies we missed a couple so we decided to come back and pick up the three strays. A quick find for us today and JD signed the log as JeJeBu. Tftc.

28-Aug-16
We had previously been out this way last November and we had missed a couple of caches so today we decided to finish off the series. We didn't get this one last time due to a number of muggles fishing nearby, but today the area was clear and we quickly made our find. We signed some logs as JeJeBu to save space. TFTC!

Yum fondue what a lovely cache thank for the cache. The Wangler's -Team- Haters. Cool

14-May-16
We fun-do'd it (area was dry & accessible)

13-May-16
...and rolling. NOT me, the river! It is so high today, and still apparently rising at about 1130, that all the trees along this stretch of the bank are wet feet in a fast-flowing Waimak.. The Fondue fork may well be under water. Could be worth CO check in a day or so after the water subsides and the mud dries a bit.

28-Apr-16
Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.

28-Apr-16
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.

Took some work to discover this one but a log review soon had me at the right spot. Tftc

05-Apr-16
Out for a walk along the Waimakariri, sunny day not a cloud in the sky and not a soul around. Quiet and peaceful, just right for geocaching. TFTC.

Gps out a bit. Look for raspberries.

31-Mar-16
This one took a while- gps had us all over- but we were determined not to have any DNF's. tftc

28-Mar-16
Had a few hours with the wee womble today while Mrs Womble was out, so we decided to head down this road to make a few finds. Didn't take long to find the cache. Thanks for the cache, and the series. Good to finally put a fork in it and say it is done.

12-Mar-16
7286. Out for a Saturday drive to pick up a few Waimakiriri River stones for an Easter activity at church, so decided to do this series while out there. Very busy in this area today - cars travelling too fast and creating dust storms. This was cache find number four of the fourteen in the series, and yet another nice easy one. Are they all going to be this easy? Rodney walked between caches if they were under 250 metres apart, while Iris drove the cachemobile. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.

06-Mar-16
Did not go for the series during the Mega and decided to leave it for another day. Today was the day and we had fun as it was not too hot. But the first three caches were challenging with all the motorbikes around. And of course there was the single DNF - hard to believe considering how easy these caches were. Thanks for placing them (and apology for the cut and paste of the log - but there was hardly anything special to mention for a particular cache).

27-Feb-16
Found. A bit of black berry starting to grow in front of cache. Be careful

27-Feb-16

23-Jan-16
A nice early start meant very few people about while we cruised down the road picking up these cool caches as we went. Had a smile on the face every time one was spotted. Found them all with most being easily spotted with only a couple here and there which took a little scratching around. Great wee series and glad to finally knock them all off.

The final run for the year, and what a year its been, A awesome Mega (my first) event, reaching 1000 finds, getting to know fellow geocaches more and have such a great time learning about this and that.
So the best thing I felt to do today was pile the kids into the car along with my mother, and do a trail.
I had eyed this one up and it looked good for the kids to keep them interested, for my mother to clock up some steps on her pedometer and for me to clock up some smiles. Sorry for the copy and pasting but its the same story for each find, all very clever and we had a laugh at each one. thanks for putting these out for us to find. I love our authentic 1970's fondu set...nom nom nom TFTC The Wranglers from Mr Cuddly Brick

30-Dec-15
Collected the complete set of cutlery.

29-Dec-15
Parked the campervan near the river for a nice breakfast. Went firstly for a walk and then took the bikes for a nice cycletrip. We were not hungry otherwise we could use the forks from our cycletrip Smile
A nice spot for doggies to go for a swim

26-Dec-15
One of a few caches found this afternoon near the Waimak. Made harder work of finding this one than we needed to. iPhone coords not especially helpful, possibly because of the trees. Got there in the end. #870. TFTC.

Took the most arduous route to the right tree but the cache was a quick find. TFTC.

29-Nov-15
Out for a drive with hubby, why not pick up a few caches on the way home! Although we did them by car I can see that biking would be a very nice option here. Loved the series, nothing like putting ordinary objects in unconventional settings! Some would call it modern art! TFTC Smile

22-Nov-15
TFTC. A lovely Sunday morning meant a speedy picnic pack and the prospect of caching along the Waimak TheWanglers and Team Gaters Fork Series was my target.
The cache was cute, more forky than I had imagined and I serious fon dueing it!!
Thanks TheWanagler and Team Gaters for placing the cache and creating the series for us to enjoy.

This was my second visit to Christchurch in as many weeks, a fortnight ago I flew down for the Mega event with my family in tow, this time I was down to attend a conference held at the school of Education. My wife generously agreed to allow me to stay an extra day (and night) to explore the city and do some Geocaching. I made the most of the opportunity and found just over a hundred caches during my visit. This was one of two power trails I did today. I enjoyed the novelty containers and really appreciate the time and effort that was put into providing this series. Forking Fun Fondue.

20-Nov-15
I don't usually like cut / paste / template logs but do make the odd exception for 'power trails' like this. After finishing my work commitments I had a couple of hours to spare before heading to the airport and home so I went and found a few caches. I was certainly amused and impressed by the theme and the appropriate hints. I might just be inspired to do something similar (on a much more humble scale) when I get home to Nelson. Anyway, the trail was great fun and I had just enough time to get to the end of it before I had to turn around and head to the airport. Thanks for the fun and TFTC, Biggles.

12-Nov-15
Couldn't be bothered with work and the boss is away so off I went, sneaky sneaky to find a few caches on my "break". I really love fondue, I had a massive bowl of cheese with bread, you really can't go wrong with cheese. Cheese cheese cheese cheese cheese cheese cheese.

08-Nov-15
Time to cache with my buddy Nosynel, we waited til the afternoon but twas a little Rainey still, and this bear does not have a rain coat, so delayed our start while I decided to go buy one with all the clearance sales on I should be good, well the decision maker that I am I ended not getting one, but alas the rain had stopped.....lol.

We got on the bikes here ad had skipped a few due to parking car, but we'll get them on the way back. Neat wee trail. Loved the bike track, Thanks so much for the trail.

08-Nov-15
This afternoon BBear44 and I went for a bike ride. I picked up BBear44 and we popped our bikes on the bike rack and headed out for the Waimakiri bike track.
There was a carpark quite near this geocache. After parking the car we took the bikes off the bike rack and got onto the track. Not far along we found this cache. Again it took a while as the co ordinates were not as bang on as usual.

07-Nov-15
Quick find.

After the picnic was invited out caching by La Vista - so joined them in the car, plus looking4thebroc, and MrDan!!
And upon arrival found a whole bunch of others there too already who we joined in with!!

Was pretty tired, but keen for some caching.
This one also I could see people already signing from the car, so I decided to rest with my eyes closed for a little bit...

TFTC!! Smile

Continuing the excellent end to the MEGA weekend, found as part of a convoy of local cachers after this afternoons picnic in the park. Joined by La Vista, karma reprint, Wombles B&T, Me&Pedro, looking4thebroc, Kiwi Moose and Sonia26642. Biggest convoy I've been in! Thanks guys! TFTC (2560)
