The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]Big Grin

We started early this morning and headed out this way to pick up a few trads and a couple of puzzles that we had solved before leaving home. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747. Smile

quick find and the first in the series
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

This is our third Mega, and we have enjoyed them all. We had driven up a few days ago and camped over the border in NSW with our geodogs Mini Michi, Teeny Treek and Gypsy Girl. Our geomobile A'Tuin provided us with a place to sleep, and we had a wonderful position just metres from the Mighty Murray.

As planned, we met with Mr Sims_Family, who claimed his 7,000th find by attending this Mega. Congratulations Eddy. Neville_devil had also made the trip up, and we planned to complete the GPS Maze, the Gadget Cache Adventure Labs and the Ladder Series and see what else we could manage.

We were on the way back to our campsite and decided to stop by for this cache.

Thank you for this Traditional cache BettyBoo3747

#4993 With the day off decided to head out with the geohounds and do a lap of the empty Lake Mulwala for a looksee. En-route we nabbed this cache which showed us that the letterbox art series is distributed far and wide. A very neat bit of workmanship on the letterbox. The geohounds enjoyed a short walk and sniff in the search of the cache. Hide in great shape and returned to its safe snug hidey hole after signing log. TFTC BB.

In this case the chicken had gas first, not sure about the egg. Made a quick find nearby at GZ.

Day 3 in Rutherglen, and another big day. Firstly it was back out to the EASTER 2023 series to pick up from where we had left of yesterday when the light beat us. Again some of these were straightforward, while others took quite some searching before being finally found. In some locations the 'hairy panic'' made searching a bit complicated too.
A number of Letterboxes were also tackled on the way back for lunch.
After lunch we headed back to Wahgunyah and Corowa, this time by car, where we completed the Adventure Lab and a few multis, traditionals and another letterbox.
Another busy but successful day.

All logs signed as SKI Pair or RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair).

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache BettyBoo3747.

Well what a delightful day emerged from last night which had a little rain.
We decided to head to the Corowa and Wahgunyah area and find some caches along the way.
There was a little evidence of the overnight rain but most roads and tracks were generally dry and the sunshine appeared and in the end we had around 23 degrees with a gentle mild breeze.

We found a very interesting mixture of caches today and really enjoyed the various locations and hide.

Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for this hide, we did enjoy seeing the letterbox and we impressed with the shades!!
As to the question posed, we are not sure even after thinking about it for most of our lives.

25-Apr-21
Great reason to stop times two! I was wanting another cache today in NSW before we crossed the border into Victoria on our trip home from Dayboro. I loved the hiding spot and the bush around it, a nice short walk away from the highway. The other attraction, the letterbox, has had a few additions since the original photo was taken.

With the long weekend in Vic it meant more caching time so plans were mate with Omegaman1971 to head to North East Victoria, most of our effort was spent in Wangaratta with a trip to Beetchworth, out to Gtreta to do the NKH series and a small trip up to Cowra NSW, We had a great time finding caches, learning history, exploring the area and catching up with mates.

This is one of the caches we found on our travels.

Getting on in the day when I decided to get my fresh air quota And grateful there are caches on nearby country roads that I can grab without being disturbed. Even so, have doubled up my hand sanitising routine and hand moisturiser. You can explore without crowding and there’s still plenty to see out there

I didn’t spot the chook Letterbox but did make short work of the cache find Thx for placing this cache for me to find on my occasional soirées outdoors.

Murray River December 2018. I headed away with Fitzy_1965 for a weekend caching towards the Murray River near Corowa. We targeted a few series and as many DNFs from previous trips as possible. We did of course generate even more this time, but overall had a great time despite a sharp thunderstorm on Sunday morning.

Thanks.

17,197. Found during a caching weekend run down to the Murray River in the Corowa region with albida33.

After camping on the Murray last night we woke up to a huge thunderclap overhead and we then packed up in extreme record time as a red rain cell was about to hit us ! Just made it as a big dump of water hit the site. Oh well at least we made an early start to the days caching ! This was the next stop for the day. Another neat letterbox in the series, although it appears the egg is gone. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 !!
