Found by The Empire + HAs we continued along the southern road, the landscape opened up to breathtaking views of the Murray River far below. The road wound along the cliffs, and from our vantage point, the river shimmered in the sunlight, snaking its way through the valley like a ribbon of silver. The sheer limestone cliffs stood tall and weathered, their pale, rugged faces dropping steeply down to the waters edge.Every so often, the trees would part, offering uninterrupted views of the river, framed by the ochre-toned cliffs that added a striking contrast to the lush green vegetation along the banks. The cliffs, carved by millennia of river flow, revealed layers of history in their sediment, reminding us of how the Murray has shaped this land over time. Thanks for the cache crane2.-M

Day 2 of a few days in Renmark checking out the sights and collecting as many hides as I can with a totally uninterested other half.

Most caches were easily found, others not so and a few had gone AWOL. A few needed some maintenance by the owners. Those have had NM logs placed on them.

Thank you for the cache crane2, found 6/04/2022, 9:19:16 AM

A nice stop on our journey across the country from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! TFTC!

08-Feb-21
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled around the Murray Riverlands, visiting Loxton, Paringa, and Renmark. We started the day from Berri, travelling south and finding a few miscellaneous geocaches. Once at Loxton, we completed the *Historical Loxton* Adventure Lab, found a few geocaches along the river, and then had lunch in town. We then drove towards Paringa, and took a walk around Murtho and Headings Cliffs. We then proceeded back through Renmark, and finished off our evening with a walk at Wilabalangaloo and completing the Berri *A River Contemplation* Adventure Lab.

A rather interesting historical plaque. I read this geocache description first, rather than plaque, and noted that the town was dissolved in 1900, not 1990! Hence, the Murtho village only lasted six years from 1894-1900. It feels similar to the recently dissolved town of Mintabie between Coober Pedy and the NT/SA border. In terms of the geocache, it was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks crane2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Based in Mildura with fellow geocaching -buddies Suscoe, today we headed westward and crossed that infamous border WinkWink and enjoyed a day of caching around Renmark and Berri. What a fascinating snippet of history.

Thanks 'crane2' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.
