#21399 @1415In Nelson for the Christmas holidays to catch up with family. Today my youngest son, my eldest grandson and I dropped by a few caches. This took a while to locate as we were searching a couple of metres away. Once found, it still took a minute or so to locate the log. TFTC.
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. The sheep were curious about us until we approached GZ and then they took off. We quickly grabbed the cache, added our ink to the log, and left the area so we wouldn't disturb them any longer than necessary. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
quick find for the cache, TFTC and the surprise container. Never knew the reservice not far away existed
I have been searching for this one for months, this was brilliant and very out of the box.
Thank you for the cache

Back over the hill to finish off this month's challenge. With a helpful hint from the CO, today was an actual find and signing of the log.
Over the hill today to pick up some highly favourited hides. And, despite the recent couple of days of heavy rain, it was a pleasant drive over and not a drop of rain as I geo-cycle-m-version 2-ed the 24km loop. This was not one of them. I found the hide, found the pen, but no sign of log paper.
Got there in the end. Thought I was going home empty handed for a while. No stock next door today.
I stopped here on my way past early on a damp Sunday morning -- with a surprising amount of traffic around. I was lucky and spotted the hide quickly but it too a while to first locate the log -- and then a bit longer to extract it. TFTC.
A fun way to end a pleasant afternoon out geocaching with the family. We knew we had it, but I admit, it did take more than a minute to figure out how to access the log. This spot is very busy during the week, but absolutely no muggles about late Saturday afternoon. TFTC
#11,364. I am geocaching around Nelson today before flying back to Wellington. Heading out towards Mapua direction for a challenge cache I ran out of time to sign yesterday. But picking up a few others along the way. We parked opposite and headed over to GZ. Well I completely missed spotting this on the first circuit but my friend has sharper eyes and saw it from behind. Fun gadget cache with different elements. But soon the logbook was revealed. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks gdguys for hiding it here.
I work over the road been eyeing this one up for a while few prickles around and no four legged friends in the padlock tftc
A lot quicker to find than we thought and we carefully found the log and signed. We had a quite if unhealthy picnic dinner at the Sandeman Reserve and found the cache there before giving this one a go. TFTC.
The original concept had been destroyed but now restored. Please read description that the log IS there, it's just a little different.
Enjoy

Not your usual gdguys cache, only because something was missing. Notified CO who will investigate. Quirky hide. TFTC.
I'm doing a sweep along the coast and made sure I got this one, too. Nice cache container. TFTC.
Not quite what I was expecting. One should always expect the unexpected. But yeah it makes sense when you think about it. TFTC
On a roll today!! Parked up and strolled over to a likely suspect! Ah haa, lookie here, yes the log is where i thought it to be! Another idea, so another fave from me. Found with downsouthinv

Found while cyclecaching. Clue says log IS there, the cache only contained a pen. I added a new page. TFTC.
On a 3 week geocaching trip with woolwood9.
*Very nice find for us here.*
SL **tm/ww NZ**, but may appear as a black smudge on the many wet logs or plastic log strips.
Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache!
Another day of rain
Cache an easy find in good condition.

Kids found this one easily enough but took us awhile to figure out how to get to the log. Almost gave up and then had a light bulb moment.
Located cache on a visit two days ago but no sign of log. After reading others logs and back today to up the finds for the day persevered (Im sure those sheep knew where it was) and located the log. nicely done. The log IS there. TFTC
Couldn't look for this yesterday because there were workers at GZ having their lunch break. So I came back today after lunch time and was rewarded with an empty spot and time to look for it.
Looked at some possible hiding places until trying to get further.
Yes, there it is. Log IS there - thanks for insisting.
Indeed, log was there only the pen wasn't working. I didn't replace it though.

What great time we are having today finding many "interesting caches"..thanks gdguys.I wasnt tricked by this as I have seen this type before...I will fill ypu in on the story one day ha ha
Getting a head in with a bike helmet on didn't quite fit! Very well executed cache once again. We have had experience with part of this type of cache hide when we were quite new to caching and didn't understand why there was no log. We know now! Thanks for the cache gdguys
Checked out and all good, only difference to the area were some new baaring muggles. Enjoy
Nice little find in the dark this morning. Had me thinking a bit then I released it’s a cache by gdguys so I released there will be a twist to it somewhere. Thanks for the cache
Taybeedragon and I are in Nelson taking some stress off a later trip to Christchurch to hunt for the elusive turtle. I thought this section of the cycle way might be a could place to find the dragon that hopefully will give us some tips to finding that turtle. Well, we found that dragon, but the turtle, as expected, is proving to be a problem. I don't think it is here in Nelson.
Yep, had to hug the tree for this one!

The Seagnoid, Toby and I are off to Nelson to hopefully find some hidden creatures along our way. Its an early start out of Blenheim just after 6am. Weather forecast is for rain this afternoon so the earlier the better. Its a bike ride along the estuary so Jack and Jill have come along for the ride. Have the Dragon bagged so now its the elusive Turtle. Will it be in Nelson?
The Seagnoid snagged this one while hugging this tree while I tagged it to be returned. I love trees and am sooo a Tree Hugger. Cheers

A quick cycle in the sunshine this morning and a cache to grab. Pondered for a bit then all was revealed. First to sign the new replacement log. Thanks for the cache.
Very cool first time I have come across one like this. Took me longer than I would like to admit.

Down in Nelson for a 10 day holiday and one of our annual big treks in the wilderness somewhere in NZ. It's true it is there.
A nice and quick find. I'm not sure how I missed it last time. Cheers.
Today was spent cruising around Nelson and environs. Weather was good till the rain started about 5!
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is nine but I just might go over that number.
I didn't quite have to do as the title suggested.
Cheers for the cache.

This wan on my to do list for ages, today hubby had to get something down the road from here to fix the boat motor, so I decided this is the perfect day, a quiet Saturday. I didn't hug the tree, more like a squeeze past, took a minute to figure out how to get to the log, nice and dry, signed and off we went again. Very clever. Tftc
Nice wee afternoon loop bike ride along the coast and back through railway trail with a good few caches along the way. We'd come across a similar hide in Welly so were quick to retrieve. TFTC
Last cache for the day for TregearP and me whilst out exploring. Another nicely done cache! All in good order, and thanks for the cache.
Away for a few days holiday during the school break. After a couple days in Westport and then Richmond for a couple days...a bit of a family catch up. Not much time for caching - family nitter natter and letting the wee dudes play with the cousins! Heading for home (CHCH) later this morning so popped out to fill the wagon with gas & find a couple caches since I didn't find any yesterday!
A few trucks and cars but all good. Soon spotted...then quickly found and signed the log. Nice one! Love the effort and creativity with your caches. Cheers!

Couldn't find this one last time we visited but co-ords were spot on and cache quickly located....another well designed cache, tftc
With the help from Paddle Chick I worked it ,this cache definitely deserves a favorite .Tftc gdguys
Nice concept and hide as usual guys. We were on the way back from Motueka to Blenheim when we popped in to make the find. TFTC.
This took a little longer to find the cache, but then had to put our thinking caps on to figure out where the log was. Could it be? Yes it was. Thanks again gdguys, we do enjoy your hides.
Back riding the Great Taste Cycle Trail after a two year absence. Found the hide quick enough but extracting the log took a little time. TFTC
We almost gave up on this one then we spotted something familiar. A little head scratch then the log was ready to be signed. Another great cache gdguys. Thank you.
so close to work but never got around to it till today was a bit worried on opening the cache but it soon gave up its secret another favourt from me
Sent Mr HG to look for this one, didn't want to dirty my clothes. Another good one. Cache is full now. TFTC
All quiet here tonight so no problems retrieving cache , after reading a few of the previous logs the log was signed ,,, very sneaky ,,well done Thanx4tc
After having been seriously impressed by other caches from these guys, we sought out some more to keep the 9 year old amused. Another good one here, with some new lambs in the next door paddock to admire at the same time.
Today we travelled from Richmond to Spring Creek with the main objective of doing some maintenance in Momorangi Bay (and hopefully) picking up a FTF in Linkwater. The weather was miserable - raining, spitting and constantly changing its mind to have a brief break but always cold and windy so we pick and chose our cache depending on the weather in the moment, sometimes not even getting out if the car for a PnG! Still fitted in a full days of caching with 46 finds - oh and yeah we did get that FTF!!
A nice quick find here aswell by Mums eagle eyes - watch out for the holly on the theighs. Cool connection with the 'cache container' and the title. Thanks for the cache

Another quick find, and very sneaky. After hubby handed me the hide, I opened it and first thought was quickly succeeded by I know where the log is. Sure enough there it was. Signed and resealed.
Well this one had me thinking found the cache container ok but where was the log book. Looked back on previous find then had an idea are there it was. Another good idea. TFTC.
Aaaagh!! It was in the hand all along! So, we went back today to complete the mission. Tftc.
We found what we thought to be the cache at the listed coordinates but, as in previous comments, there was no log to be signed. Container, yes - but perhaps this was not it. So, we'll try again another day.
Ah I was scratching my head for a bit, 1st tricky one like this for me. Great hide and great twist thanks!
Found this morning on a caching bike ride. I was sure I knew where the log was but just couldn't retrieve it and so phoned the CO who advised me I was focused on the wrong item, and what do you know, he was right. Clever cache and worth a Favourite.
This one had us guessing. Like the last finders, we thought something had gone missing. But close inspection finally revealed all and the log was duly signed and we carried on. The camo is worth a favourite. TFTC!!!
