After the usual bickering of who should have the pen Mr dimor huffed and puffed but took it and got to GZ before me to do the signing duties.TFTC now off to Muzz Buzz
Bingo bango - wandered to that gum defying the odds to make a quick find. I figured I’d be doing some rock scrambling so his trusty treadles off the track and wandered over. After a big trip from homebase about 3500 km out east we are making our way south enroute to home via this inland route. TFTC and the FUN!
Stranded in Newman due to flooded roads. You can use the time to look for a few more doses. Thank you for the fun.
Travelling up north and arrived to Newman today. It's nice that weather is finally getting warmer. Great view, tftc!
We are spending a few weeks travelling to some of Western Australia's warmer regions and grabbing a couple of the LGAs that I need.
This is the only one I found this morning on my morning run. It certainly did defy the odds.
This was find number 2 for the day.

Well this one was scary enough for this senior cit. I think I might leave the others alone for the moment, maybe I will be younger next time...
Thanks jasenjanine.
Thanks jasenjanine.
Well thus one wasn’t as scary to get to . It’s a little windy today and cloudy . I think I brought the rain with me as I’ve just had a few drops land on me tftc
In Newman for two days. We were hoping to catch up with our younger son who works here but he is out on site at a camp for next few days. Headed up the hill to grab these finds - amazing views and weather just perfect today. Thanks Jasenjanine

Phenomenal view. From this height the spinifex below creates awesome patterns. TFTC
Found on a road trip with Team Outnabout taking in the Meeka races and places of interest along the way from Geraldton to Newman. TFTC
pug002 found it on 11/8/2018 on our trip north. Todays logs we have been putting 10th, we have lost a day somewhere Looks like another day of mountain goating. Yep Geo hubby said this old goat is finding the mountains too hard lol. TFTC jasenjanine
Pen died so didn’t get a date written. Luckily geo stamps where in the pocket. Removed some aaa batteries that have sprung a leak. TFTH SL cheers
Thanks for a magical view! Small cacherkid wasn’t keen on the edge and neither was this mumma but luckily geodad has the courage! No date because our own didn’t work but geostamps saved the day! TFTC SL
And another serious search to find this one!! More lovely views and mountain goat tripping! TFTC
Another mountain goat trek but a careful scan of the approaches showed a (fairly) safe way to get to GZ. Easier coming up, but! TNLNSL thanks (I think) for the cache, jasenjanine.
Day nine of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Today we travelled from Karijini National Park to the mining town of Newman via nothing at all apart from a few caches? There wasn't a real lot to see today. We were in a fair amount of pain today after getting a tad burnt lapping up the pools of Karijini yesterday with some German backpackers we had befriended!
We side tracked to come caches along the route which had some great views but weren't feeling game for the T3 plus caches so kept it simple. We cached around town in the heat which was very rough and ventured out to the dam, which was very nice, unfortunately we didn't see any of these famous black swans. We did find some lovely views around town from the various vantage points that the caches and their owners directed us too.
Thanks to the COs for a good days caching around Newman, we skipped a few of the harder ones to get to as we have a big couple of days ahead of us. Thanks
The trees growing out of rocks amazed me when I was living up here

Back in the Pilbara again. It's been a while and love getting up here again.
And it looks like another trip is in order with a few new caches since my last trip.
Parked up nearby and made my way to GZ, spotted what I thought would be the correct level, and made my way down for a quick find.
I can't wait to catch up with everyone again at
[WA GOES BIG 2017](https://coord.info/GC6TD11) in Rockingham, WA.
Perths big event is on again.
**See you there**.
jasenjanine - Kyzabra found your cache Defying the Odds . The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

With two of the caches on Radio Hill found, I made another stop on my way back down to come looking for this one. Unlike my adventures with Red Rock Fig, this cache was quick and easy...no wildlife and no pulling rocks onto myself. The cache was quickly found and the log signed.
Thanks jasenjanine for another interesting stroll.

After the cache at the Visitor Center we headed up this hill (driving of course). I lived in Newman many years ago so knew just how to get here. Nice to see the road bitumised . The cache was a quick find but was well concealed in it's hidey-hole. SL. Thanks to jasenjanine for the cache.
Start of day up the hill.over looking the light industrial area of town of newman.good shoes required for this one.phone in hand off i go .trail is rough with pilbara shale breaking of every where .had to leave phone up top.Gloves on. Two hands required.Time to search.found some flat ground .Found it.TFTC
Yep...had an attempt at this one in quickly fading light last night and decided to regroup and hit it today with the sun blazing! A nice quick easy find in the daylight! TFTC
Cache grabbed with Mortimer 57 during our fantastic 3 weeks trip in Western Australia. Thank you to all the owners for their great job. We had a lot of fun to do Geocaching in your country !
Greetings from France!
Greetings from France!
This cache has been found with Emjuma57 during our WA roadtrip in august 2016. 5360 km from Perth to Exmouth, Karijini, and back down.
We had a lot of fun geocaching in Australia!! Thanks a lot to the owners for placing those caches even in the most remote places!!
Geocaching allowed us to discover places impossible to find with a book guide!

Found this one a few weeks ago when I was picking up some supplies from town. After a short search, I came up with the goods.
Hi there jasenjanine.
We found your cache **"Defying the Odds"** at 2:07:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14289.
We are travelling from Darwin to Geraldton via the inland route - Newman, Meekatharra, Mount Magnet, etc & thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places.
After "Red Rock Fig", this one was easy.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Yep !! That is an amazing tree
Who says you need soil to grow stuff
This tree doesn't think so ...
... at least on the surface.
I'm sure the root system stretches far and wide into the nooks and crannies in the rock,
to lap up moisture and nutrients
TFTC.

Thanks for the cache. My non-caching buddy found this one after I'd been looking for it for about 15 minute. He was higher up than me. I looked in every nook and cranny but obviously not the right one. We are in Newman on a short work trip.
found this cache easy enough, thank you for the hide jasenjanine.
I had to come back and edit this, because I didn't realize that I was first to find even though I was first in the log, what am I dumb or something.
Thanks again for the cache
