#13860 Three days on the road from Sydney to Mudgee, with the main objective of finding and logging the TRLT-North. It was an enjoyable drive, across dirt roads and some beautiful scenery. Day 1 we camped overnight at Hill End and day 2 we pitched out tent in Mudgee. The caches were easily found so the focus was fully on the journey through our Mid Western region of NSW.After spending the night at Hill End, this was the first cache of the second day of our road trip.TFTC to all cache owners for maintaining this great series.
Stayed nearby overnight and grabbing anything along the way. Most hides where found after a short search. Loved the different containers and hides. Some great views to be had along the series. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
On a trip out west a quick find was made at GZ
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache joshwa27

Having cached the length of Sallys Flat Rd a few years back it was nice to come back and grab a few nearby that had been left unclaimed on our last visit. TFTC!
Found on our way home from Hill End, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to Joshwa27.
Found tyftc. Heading home from Bathurst trting to complete some of tge TRLT series. Sorry but will be generic logs today. Find #2356
With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.
Would be rude to just drive past a cache right? Right, so we didnt, we stopped and made the find
Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others

Day 2
With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild. Our intention was to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area.
We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure. Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.
Picked this one up along our journey as well.
Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 and thanks Rapidlywild for another great weekend away.

Day 3 in Mudgee and our last. Today was for picking up the middle sectioon of the TRLT series before moving on to Bathurst. A more enjoyable day as the wind had eased and this section of the road has been graded. A long day as we had to get to Sofala as this will be the end point from Bathurst.

Another great day on our one-year tripp around Australia. We love to travel in this country and we love to look for geocaches. This geocache has again shown us a place that we might not have visited without geocache.
Thank you for the geocache !
Greetings from Switzerland.

I stopped off at yet another cemetery I didn't know about (YACIDKA),
here in Sallys Flat
Not far to wander in to reach the obvious GZ
What was less obvious was the cache !! [:o]
After me first look,
I thought I was leaving with the DNF !!
Second look from a different angle proved otherwise

We couldn’t resist taking the short divert off TRLT to come and search for this one, which was soon found once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the nicely camouflaged cache at this peaceful location and greetings from Zimbabwe
Travelling from Bathurst to Mudgee and caching along the way. Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches and showing us around your region.

OCW frazerdaze and marj01. House sitting at White Rock for a week has provided an opportunity to do some geocaching runs around Bathurst - mainly TRLT series indispersed with a number of trads and puzzle caches. During the day we saw lovely scenery, lots of sheep and cattle, a few foxes and one deer in the forestry area. We even encountered fire persons doing a burn off which included two of the caches we were chasing. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches and adding to our enjoyment. For expediency all logs were signed OMF.
An interesting-looking church.
Missed the camo on my first look but noticed it the second time around.

This is a lovely little church. Thanks for bringing it to our attention and for the cache.
Nearly at my weekend destination but of course had time for another cache. Pulled into the side track at the last minute. As its taken me most of the day to go a whole hundred km's the weather is turning cold again so I'm replacing the layers I was able to take off earlier. I like these old cemetery's you find while caching. tftc joshwa27
Mudgee trip for The Road Less Traveled series. Day 3. Sofala to Mudgee via Hill End and lots more back roads. The main focus of this trip was more of the TRLT series, so it was good to get back to work on the main goal. One of many cemeteries I had the chance to visit and explore this weekend.
Thanks.

We are heading to Bright in Victoria, we dont have to be there til the end of the month. We are caching as we go, wherever it is safe for us to pull up with the van.
We arrived in Sofala this morning unhitched and after lunch went for a drive to Hill End, picking up caches on our return. Storm coming, we had better hurry up!
Quick find, tanks Joshwa27

Leaving Bathurst we headed for Sofala and did some caching along the way. Luckily we found places to pull of the road with the caravan and once in Sofala we were able to leave the caravan at the waterhole camp near town and cache more freely. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to Joshwa27 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Headed up with nissan 65 for another few days caching. Today we are heading towards Sofala and MudgeeThanks for the cache .
What a different church this was! We were thinking the cache would br one type, but it turned out to be another. TFTC Joshwa.
Was just contemplating how to wriggle under on my back (difficult for senior citizens) when I spotted the cache. TFTC

On the Road Less Traveled series (and surrounding countryside) with Steeba.
Sadly, despite our best efforts, we could not turn up anything here today.

14122. Found during a run through the Bathurst to Mudgee region this long weekend.
Having completed the southern part of TRLT series last month I had the northern part of the series on my radar for this long weekend - plus as many extras as there are along the way. Leaving home this morning I was caching before lunch on the outskirts of Bathurst heading north. All but two of today's caches were found and all were nicely hidden with good sized containers. This was the next find for the day. Quick find at GZ. Log signed, cache replaced, and I headed off to the next one.
Thanks to all the COs for their caches - it was a great run up through this area.

Found this one on a slight detour from TRLT. Love these caches found where there is history and stories of days gone by, the history of the people who brought life to these towns! Thank you Joshwa27!

Found with Brewmaker while on a two day adventure finding caches in The Road Less Travelled trail series and other nearby ones.
We started at Meadow Flat and then headed north (having previously headed south on another adventure) through Sunny Corner and Palmers Oakey before camping overnight at Wattle Flat. Then it was on to Sofala Sally's Flat, Pyramul and heading north towards Mudgee before we ran out of time. Will have to come back to finish the series. Most caches were easy to find and it was a very enjoyable drive along these country roads some beautiful scenery, historic places, native animals etc.

Found with MikeV1 on Day Two of our adventure out west. Over two days we managed to grab 100 finds while attempting part of TRLT series. We started at Meadow Flat and headed north passing through Sunny Corner, Dark Corner, Palmer's Oakey, Mt Horrible, Turon, Wattle Flat, Crudine, Sally's Flat, Sofala, Pyramul and Aaron's Pass, before detouring to Mudgee to refuel and then head back to Sydney. We had a great time taking the Brewmobile along these rarely used country roads, seeing some amazing scenery, old homesteads, cemeteries, plenty of wildlife and natural landforms along the way. Most of the hides were easy to find with good coords and hints. Thanks to all the COs for the time & effort that has gone onto placing these hides.

A clever find, took a little while to find but it did not foll us. This is a great day out caching and I am so pleased 3-Kings and I decided to come this way. Thanks to the COs for what must have been a lot of work putting these caches out. Great time had by all. TFTC
The WEEO and I had a great time caching all day and yacking as we went along. The WEEO and I thought we would get this one quickly, but it took us some time because we were looking for the wrong kind of container. Lucky the WEEO has sharp eyes. . TFTC
Had a Geo expedition today with the Geo Parents, from Windeyer to Hargraves via Hill End. Many finds and a good time had by all.
We spent the day with our son, IRON.BRAD, although it is geoDan who has a titanium prosthesis courtesy of a recent hip replacement. TFTC
Today was a very cold but sunny day, and we were heading to Sofala and Hill End. Lovely scenery and an enjoyable drive. This was one of a number of quick finds along the way, thanks Joshwa.
Up from Canberra on a solo geomission to Bathurst, Mudgee and surrounds The focus of the weekend was to attack as many of the TRLT series as I could as well as any others along the way!
I was surprised at the look of the church-I thought it was a house or a hall! lol But easy find at GZ [^]

Was not on my list today, but was too close not to deviate. A very bland looking church, but at least it had a funny dunny which I grabbed a pic of. Easy find, my young apprentice Crazy Ivan found this one for me.
Found at 11:19 AM GAFF5 in the company of Team Nurse Hayley.
We went to the obvious structure as soon as we arrived, but missed the container as we were thinking of something else. We then proceeded to look all over the place only to come back and check it again. This time Hayley was able to spot it.
A nice quite place.
Thanks *JOSHWA27*.

On a caching adventure to Mudgee with pprass we set out to see some country side and some interesting caches.
This place looked like it was abandoned not in use?
search around the building for this one as the GPS was going a little nutty but eventually the cache was located.

Day four of our five day geocaching trip from Brisbane to Canberra for Easter. Today we cached from Gulgong to Sofala, on the road not so often traveled, working for our 100-in-a-day challenge.
We are caching for 100 or more: that is our aim, so nice quick finds are the order of the day. So these logs will be rather generic - written up after the trip is well and truly over.
The country we traversed was wonderfully varied - a few Ks of sealed road but the majority was gravel - easily handled by our GeoFalcon, although we laughed several times at how the white dust (in sharp contrast to the usual brown and red of Queensland) made it look like a ghost car.
We crossed many causeways, traversed valleys and crossed mountain ridges. Scenery was magnificent. All in all we have only two DNFs in the total trail, so that was a bonus.
Would we recommend this trail? An unequivocal YES!
This one is not part of the actual trail, but we can;t just pass it by now, can we? Just a quick detour/walk to the cemetery where we found a tank - and a cache!
Found at 5.35pm on 23rd March 2016. TFTC.

Today was day 75 of our trip out of Sydney and we are getting very close to home now.
This was a very nice quick and easy cache to find but it was in a different kind of container to what we had thought it might be. After the log had been signed the cache was replaced where it had been found. Thank you for bringing us to this area and thank you for placing this cache fur us and others to find.

We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.
We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.
Day 1
We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.
Day 2
We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.
Day 3
We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.
Day 4
We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.
We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.
Thanks
Team sissifalke
