I am very appreciative that I am having a lovely day. I hope things have improved for Richard. A great hide. TFTC

#218 27/09/2024 @3:03pmQuick find for us and a beautiful days weather. Fortunately no bad day for us
A less than ideal day was while geocaching; not finding the cache and realising I had stepped in dog poo while looking up. People on the bus could not figure out where the aroma was from as I went back to the hotel. I had to sacrifice my toothbrush to clean my runners. All good at GZ. TFTC
TwoEms have had many bad days, but we tend to bury and forget themas if they were nuclear waste. When it feels like everything is conspiring against you, dare it to get any worse with a crying laugh; but sometimes its just the universes way of telling you to stop and take the time to be gentle with yourselflike have a date with a spoon and a tub of your favourite ice-cream or go find a geocache. However, after finding this one, we think Richard is rather fortunate and better to have a kind sibling box up his bad day in a nice location and gift him with lots of geo-hugs.A nicely camouflaged hide and a cool type of place. Its like stepping through an invisible veil and leaving the world behind for just a moment to find a tranquil space.Thank you for the cachebig hugs to anyone having a bad day.
Poor Richard. My day wasn't too bad, other than stopping on top of the bridge first before realising I had to drive all the way around to where GZ ACTUALLY is. And with the price of diesel these days, maybe I'm having a bad day now. Nah all good it was all in fun. We all have bad days but there are always plenty of good ones to make up for it. Thanks Kangadrew72.
Was in the area doing a delivery and needed to grab my 363rd daily streak cache. Nice quick find and three days left to 366! Tftc
Nothing bad happened to me today. I want to keep it that way. Exploring surrounding trails, getting my steps up!
Found the cache. Sans pen with me. There is another tricky brass thing nearby that is intriguing: David
First cache of the day. Lucky had my mate Sean with me with big muscles to get the cap off for me. TFTC!
Nice little cache. The resident Troll had a bad day with me fossicking around his front yard till I checked the map again and saw my mistake. TFTC.
Found with icw. When we arrived at GZ I said that can't be the cache, but it was! The log is full, but we managed to sign sideways in one of the margins. Tftc and a fav point from me.
Very clever hide - wouldn't normally have looked here, but lo and behold - there it was!
Cheeky find TFTC honestly one of my favourites. Had a friend come with, her first.
Out on our first 10km LD6 geocache search. Great spot along the side of the creek. TFTC
Well, perhaps two speeding fines in the mail for the same trip of no more than 10km, was my bad day.

I am a bit late logging this cache but I was out this way and needed my daily cache and walk. I noticed this cache on my GPSr and its title sounded intriguing because I have had a lot of bad days in my life. I parked in a street across the road and walked the short distance to GZ. Not many places to hide a cache at GZ so I found the cache after a brief search and signed the nearly full log at 4:30 pm. TNLN.
Thanks kangadrew72 for the cleverly camo'd cache. It was an interesting spot to see and hear the traffic above whizzing down the Greensborough Highway.
My most memorable "bad day" was 7 February 2009, when I was caught up in the Black Saturday bushfires. We were staying at a B & B in Steels Creek not far from where we were going to see Simply Red perform at Yering Station Winery. By the time the owners of the B & B realised how fast the fire was moving it was too late to leave. Luckily there were 7 of us so we hosed the place down....until the pumps stopped working (they melted in the heat) when we got buckets of water from the swimming pool....and we made sure the horses and pets were safe. I saw my life flash before my eyes while we bunkered down inside the B & B and waited for the fire to pass over it, which it did. We were all traumatized but very lucky unlike many others in the region and we saved the B & B, the animals and ourselves.

TFTC. It is hard to think of a bad day in the glorious sunshine this afternoon. Perhaps an obvious one is the day Dan Andrews EXTENDED our hard lockdown #2. That was a depressing day. But - all worth it now.
Overall life has been pretty good for me.
Sure, there have been setbacks and problems, but nothing we couldn't overcome..
I try to focus on the positive and forget the bad things.

Ha, ha. I guess our bad day was thinking that the cache was on the highway overhead and looking up there first! But seriously, this was an ingenious cache that we would have missed if it weren't for Eagle-Eyes Amon. TFTC and hope that everything is going better by now for Richard.
Out to enjoy the sunshine within my 25kms. Was a great day to walk in some parks that have been out of my reach for a long time.
I don’t have a sad day to compare although I am currently not working owing to covid. On a positive note I fluked this find immediately upon arrival. I just happened to look in the right spot and thought, wait a minute.... bingo!
Thanks kangadrew72 for placing the hide!

This was the second of two while on today's lunchtime escape in these glorious conditions. Following a short stroll to GZ from the nearby playground parking area, I was soon signing the log at 13:35. Nice little opportunistic hide.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks kangadrew72.

After a disappointing DNF not far away, I was very happy to get a smiley here. So it wasn't such a bad day after all!
Hey Richard, I’m guessing that bad day you had is now just a blip in an awesome life.
My day was saddened by hearing about the passing of a client who has had a long battle with cancer. Makes you realize that life is short and you should treat each day as a blessing. Even the bad ones! TFTC

Searched around for a bit, there was a lot of families passing by so it was hard to look without feeling like I was doing something weird
I finally got this one. I’ve been working around the corner for over a year and just haven’t been able to make it happen til today. Oh it feels good turning this into a smilie.

Easy find. Bad day? Mate and i supposes to be staying home while the parents out. Took the motorbike into town. It rained. Then the headlight blew but didn't realise until the cop pulled us over. I was on my L's so got done for that as well. Told to leave bike and go home. Wheeled it for 2 k's then took the back roads home in pitch black. Jumping off whenever a car came. To top it off the parents got home just before we got in the drive so had to sleep on the lawn until we could sneak in in the morning and pretend we had been inside all along. Tftc.
05/11/2019 15:09 2 of 5. I decided to spend track day out and about. Missed this one first look around. Had a proper think and got it 2nd time. TFTC kangadrew72 TNLN SL

Always a bit worried after a DNF, but this was a quick find.
Very impressive structure!

A nice quick find was made here by OHC after we worked out the best place to park. Thanks for the cache.
Found @16:48 on my way home from my own bad day at work. Nothing like a geocache to improve a rotten mood though. TFTC!
Youth. I blame the parents. And the teachers. You see, I'd decided on a level to approach this cache from and found the container where it should, but without a lid or log. Then, turning around I saw: 1. a spraycan (CITO kids CITO), 2. the lid (ditto), and 3. the log, with some poorly formed signatures on it (shame teachers shame). I put everything back where it should be (although come to think of it I didn't CITO the spraycan) but I'm not confident it will stay there. Did this muggling make it a bad day or did finding the muggled cache make it good? Hmmm, thanks anyway kangadrew
Great hide and a lovely walk on a beautiful winter’s day. Hope things are going well for your brother now. Thanks for the cache.
Hope Richard is having a better time of it. I’ve had a great day exploring the local area for caches. Thanks
I feel sorry for poor Richard because I have had a few days like this myself. This is a clever spot for a cache and a lovely walk as well.
Found while walking the Plenty River trail. This is a great walking/cycling area alongside the river. The cache was in good condition and is a clever hide. SL TFTC
Cleaning up the map in the Plenty Gorge area saw Gunks and myself picking up a few drivebys as well as about 6kms of walking amongst the roos. TFTC
Headed out tonight with Trailstevo for stomp around plenty gorge and surrounding. Plenty of roos about tonight and heard a Soiuthern Boobook but other than that it was quiet on the wildlife front. Always good to get out a put a few smileys on the map. TFTC
It was 6 years ago today... on Fathers Day... that I went out and found my first cache. I remember it as being warm and sunny... quite unlike today which was cold and threatening showers in the afternoon... not a great day but nowhere near as bad as Richard's.
Although I was certain I had chosen the right level, my GPS had me standing *in the middle of nowhere* with no possibility of a cache. With my confidence slightly dented I expand my search circle... and eventually found what I was after.
Thanks **kangadrew72** for the cache... and although I have had all the same troubles as Richard, they were all on separate days and years apart... which was very much a blessing!

The fourth find of the day. I saw a challenge cache come out in Canberra that I was so close to qualifying for. I had 99 out of the 110 required counties for the challenge. So of course I had to throw in a couple of caches around the highway that would net me a county or two. In the end, it turned out well as we avoided the peak hour traffic coming into Melbourne! This one was a nice quick find. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC kangadrew72!
I was out for a run and took the chance to find this cache. It was nicely hidden in an appropriate spot. TFTC!

With another day off to keep my annual leave days low so as to be given bonus holidays I headed out on the bike in the perfect overcast weather so no sun screen was required. I had never been over this area of the city and was keen to check out this bushland and it's surrounds. Much steeper than I expected in some locations but some cool caches were found. It was awesome on Monday with virtually no muggles where ever I went compared to sometimes on the weekends when it is crazy.
Cache found nice and quickly underneath a pretty serious sized bridge!
Thanks kangadrew72 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I came by here on a run with my siblings. We stopped and searched but couldn't find it straightaway. We checked the green mailbox with no success. We checked a few trees. Then we expanded the search area. Slipscache said I think I found it, and indeed a cache was found. I read about Richard's bad day and that sounded really tough. I had one when I was getting super excited about going for a bike ride to the city with my dad on a Sunday. We checked the bikes and the tyres had a problem. That took a while to fix. Then we checked the brakes and there was a problem. The chain ended up a little twisted (due to my meddling). Story is we didn't ride that day. My encouragement is how the next morning comes and it's a new day and you have new energy to take on the day and new mercies. Thanks for the cache!
Not to be too much of a debbie downer but one of my baddest days was the day of my mum's funeral. It was definitely one of loss and sadness but I caught up with relatives that I hadn't seen for many years and it was a release for her in a way from the awful disease Parkinson that she had suffered with for many years. I know she is in my memories so I haven't fully lost her. With all that happened that day, my partner and I were running on adrenaline and as we usually do we played trivia at our local hotel. Somehow we won, so another positive in a bad day.
Being an England cricket fan in Australia has major draw backs every time the Ashes are played here...on the plus side the England legs have been fulfilling since 2005.

I have had the odd bad day in my time. We were on holidays at Mt Buffalo. Staying in our caravan at Porepunkah. Any way geo-wife was not feeling well on one of the days, So I had permission to go caching up in the hills for the day. "Dunne this Cache" was the mission. Before I left the caravan I left all my keys with my wife. I only needed the remote for the geo-mobile. Anyway had a great day, The cache was and still is one of my favorites, Stunning views, and a great walk to GZ. Anyway I got back to the car, opened it up with the remote and then realised I had put the Club steering lock on the steering wheel. And yes the key for that is back down the mountain with the wife. No mobile reception. This is a bad day. Anyway after a walk to phone reception, and getting hold of RACV and getting an ear full from you know who. The key arrived. I still got the cache and the memories.. Happy Days.
Thanks **Kangadrew72**

so a bad day i had the other week. I asked my boss if we could have a meeting to discus a proposed pay rise he laughed and said we can have the meeting but you probably wont be happy with the outcome. Found with lid in tact TFTC kangadrew72
After visiting the dentist we had to wait 1 hour before we could eat we decided that we would take dad who happens to be called Richard a coffee.being that we were close by and an appropriately named cache we soon had the cache in hand.
Parked some distance away and walked back for an easy find. I suspect that there once was a lid on this but there certainly is no longer - nor that I could see anywhere.
We were in the area and happened to be looking for a cache or two.
Anyways, we found your cache, but it appears the lid is missing.
Amazed that it has survived without a cover of some sort.
Something you might want to look into.

Thank you kangadrew72, a great spot for the cache, I found it ok I was out on my bike going into the city when I stopped for this one. Does it have a top or has it been lost.

In this case it was Richard's good day, as I managed three caches after work to break my record for a month. (Only 30, but with a family that's a good effort). I cross this bridge most days and have always been aware that must be a gorge below. It's quite high, for a tiny creek below. Awesome view to be under it, so thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.
About a year ago I had just started a job I really loved and was really excited about, and all the people were really nice and I'd just interviewed for a house nearby with some friends of a friend, and everything was really great.
Then.
I got a text message saying I didn't get the house. Not that they picked someone else over me. They just didn't want to live with me.
Then.
I got a call telling me to come to hr. Where I got fired. And escorted from the building
So now, having nothing else to lose, I figure I may as well sneak back in and ask out the awesome person that has been being friendly. They said they totally would... But they were married.
So that day sucked.
But!
Now I'm working a much better job, with heaps of flexibility and travel. I'm dating an amazing person that is even cooler than I ever imagined, and I live with a really good friend in a lovely house.
So horrible days suck, but things work out.
Thanks for the cache, hope you get more good stories <3

Out with xambo4u, we parked nearby and walked to GZ where we quickly found the clever cache. Thanks kangadrew72
Out for the day with Echidna44 to clear out a couple in the area. Where do you park, that bus stop looks good as the cars wizz by. It was only a short walk and a edgy way down. Made a find very quickly but to get it out. Nibble fingers are called for and then the leatherman.. Cant say that I have had that bad a day but last week needed a cache fix. First three were DNF's the police made me move on, a had walked out with all dead batteries for the gps so I was relying on my phone a ipad. Got to my 1st find for the day and it was a nano. I dropped it on its return to hidng place. Looked on the nature strip for a hour for it and then had to drive home to get a replacement for it. The day did not improve much but I did not have a car crash or anything like that and so far no speeding fine has come in the mail.
Excellent hide in what was already there.
Thanks kangadrew72 good one to start our day

I found this one while trying to find a way across the river. I'd taken myself too far north and while walking back down to the Booyan Cres bridge I felt an overwhelmingly compulsion to again overshoot and investigate this dot on the map. It was found fairly swiftly in the sort of location I'd been kinda sorta anticipating during the final approach. On the matter of bad days, I don't really have them. I figure that any day during which you aren't, say, suffering from acute bacterial meningitis or being held as a political prisoner, is actually a pretty good day!!! Thanks kangadrew72!

A lovely afternoon for a walk, and there are enough newish hides near the Plenty River to make a decent loop of it.
It might have been a bad day for Richard, but it's meant a smiley as part of a fine winter's day for yours truly. The most entertaining part was the shortcut I used to get to the level I expected the cache to be at. Nice cache placement.
Thanks, kangadrew72

A stop on the bike to grab this one. We wondered if it was up on the bridge or down. We got that part right, so it was a good day for us. Sorry to hear it such as bad day for your brother. We have never had a bad day like you have described. Yes we have had a speeding fine, a little bit of sickness but never together. We always try to think that there must be someone else worse off when we have bad days.
Nice somber cache, to remember and think that there are people out there sometimes worse off than you. Cheers for the cache.

From my home this was the closest unfound cache so with some spare time and my trusty treadly, off I went. Luckily I know the quick way down from the Ring road trail to GZ. I enjoyed the find. Clever use of the location and will give it a favourite point.
Most days are good days but I have had a few bad days - family deaths, marriage breakup, getting fired, unfound caches, etc etc, but life goes on. I hope Richard is on the up and up.

So many bad days but they are all in the past so I'm not going to dwell on them.
Only bad thing about doing this cache is the rain decided to start just as I arrived. Oh well, keeping on the positive note we are in need of rain and little things like that would never stop me getting a cache
Thanks for bringing me here.
