Hi bumandworker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

We were in Kaikoura for the weekend for a BDay party and decided to cache on the way home today. We found the hint item and a hidden stash of paua shells but no cache today
This was in the second place I looked - quite obvious that this is where it would be TFTC
One of our old haunts when diving! A bit easier to launch here than it used to be, courtesy of the quakes but still a rocky spot to launch a boat! TFTC
We've tried before to find this one and again sadly another DNF. However, it's been an interesting drive on the road. Familiar but not so familiar!! Great work to all the workers to get it back up and running again.
Hunted for ages and persistance paid off. Lotsa road works and slip clearing. Well done to the road workers. Tftc
Typical..Just as we stopped a Muggle pulled up behind us..While she was taking Photos we sealthly found the Cache..TFTH
No problem there even though it was a little chilly but a nice night for it TFTC B&W
After an impromptu night stay in Kaikoura, I spent today finding as many caches as I could and doing a bit of exploring, before continuing on to Christchurch. Finally on the drive south after spending most of the day around Kaikoura... Quick find... TFTC (3076)
A southerly has sprung up today but reasonably sheltered here.
+ a large marble, - nothing.

With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.

Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.
Heading home to Christchurch after a few days in Kaikoura. Found cache after a bit of scratching around. Fun to watch the Coastal Pacific passenger train passing. Tftc
A fairly quick find, after searching a little too close to the hint object. However the GPS did read zero at the cache, which doesn't happen too often. As it was a pleasant spot, we had our lunch here after finding the cache. TFTC
A quick find on the way south from Kaikoura this morning, picking up some of the caches that have been placed since I was last through here. Signed log, TFTC!
Phew, this was a real stinky place today, must be the seals imitating the freedom campers

I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Here we go: Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we will follow the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to bumandworker for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

After a 12 week holiday, mainly in the north of the North Is, we are returning to the South Is to resume a "normal" life. We arrived a bit later in Picton than expected, so had to limit the caching along the way, but still managed to find a dozen caches today.
It's been a while since we have found a B&W cache so good to get another under our belt today, and the first of a few. After leaving Seddon, we stopped just twice, and once for a coffee at The Store and the next time for a driver change, which is a long distance to travel without a cache! Good to have a wee leg stretch here and it didn't take long to track down the cache. TFTC.

#12088. The strong southerly we'd experienced further north seemed to have eased a little by the time we got here. The cache was soon found (good to pick up a few more b+w caches on a brief trip through b+w country). TFTC.
Second day of Chelzea and I doing a weekend cache run through Hanmer to Blenheim through Molesworth Station, an overnight camp and then return along the main highway back to ChCh. A pretty intense weekend with over 120 caches found that most seem to blend together so reluctantly cut and paste logging. Had a great time finding many wonderful caches in a fair few cool spots worthy of the visit. Very few DNF's but will note anything interesting or wrong with individual caches. Thanks to all the cache owners.
Search for ages where I thought it should be only to quickly find when I expanded the area.

On a mission to meet with the in-laws in kaikoura to give them some stuff that is too heavy to courier. So they are coming down from Blenheim to meet for lunch. Decided to stay over on Cheviot last night so we could get some caches on the way there and back.
Have often stopped her for a leg stretch in the past, so brings back memories - one in particular from when we moved south in 2001 and I was travelling with cat in car (out of cage cos that's what was quietest). That was an interesting trip, and interesting stop.
Spotted what could be a bit of petrified wood very close to GZ.
Thanks

Found while heading back to Picton on a beautiful warm sunny morning, collecting a few caches I didn't get when I came down a few days ago. *TFTC bumandworker, #8610*
This was one of the caches we found on our South Island homeward journey from Picton after 3 weeks touring around the North Island in our camper van. Our thanks to the many CO's for the many great caches and placements which diverted us to many great locations. Sorry for the generic log, but so many caches to log. Nice seaside stop. TFTC
While Ms M was out on the boat pulling up crayfish pots on the edge of this very reserve I stole an hour to make a few more finds.
I drove past this on the day it was published without knowing a new cache was here.
The locals aren't very impressed with the consultation process. They reckon it was all a done deal with the iwi and the commercial companies before it ever went public.
Interesting shape too. Like the letter "F". I gather the bit in the middle is part of the trench where the commercial guys like to fish!
I wonder if the fish know about it yet.

A quick 24 hour trip away has been planned over the last couple of weeks and Greymouth was supposed to be the destination. Weather forecasts however were not looking too flash so late in the week we changed the booking and decided a night in CHCH was on the cards and let mrs capperz see the change from her last visit 8 years ago, how time flies! On the road at about 6.30 so able to avoid any of the potential traffic snarl ups and see the coast line in its early morning glory, nice. Over the weekend a little bit of caching diversity, plenty of wonderful places visited and a FTF to boot! Really windy day on Friday followed by drizzly rain on the Saturday but the explorers will prevail and sights will be seen, caches will be found!
Day 2 of our visit and a slow trip North to get back home via a few places. Have changed drivers over to mrs capperz and I'm navigating us to a few last caches before we get to the yellow smiley faced map that is my locale
Think this one has suffered from a little cache creep as it's about 3 metres from the hint item. All good condition and replaced as found

Enjoying our drive down the coast, so many neat, small bays to discover. Found with debsnz
Spent some time here watching the waves hitting the rocks. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
My eldest son, husband and I headed off on a campervan holiday before Xmas. After staying at Gore Bay we headed for Kaikoura.
A great place to pull over the camper and find a cache.

No one else around pre Christmas so a good quick find. Cheers
The holiday season at last! Off to Auckland to see my folks. Caching all the way.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

After 2 DNF’s we were pleased to have an immediate find to show we had not completely lost our caching skills. Quiet here today which helped of course.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On our way to Greymouth, early stop to get a cache. Short search and there it was. Took TB. TFTC
Travelling home after a weekend in Kiakoura. Place a TB in the cache which we picked up from Dunedin. Hope it enjoys it's onward journey. TFTC

First find of the day on another trip south. It was so beautiful and warm here today - really like summer. TFTC #7514
Nice sized container here. The wind was blowing really hard, but I had to find just a couple more on the way to the campsite I had looked at for the night.

[green] On my way back to Blenheim from a long, tiring two weeks at Christchurch, centred on the Mega event there. A wonderful day, beautiful blue ocean and many thanks to all the cache owners from today and the last two weeks. I went up two belt grades, found over 750 caches this month, all except 20 of which were in the last two weeks! So many thanks to all the cache owners that have made this such an awesome trip.
Well, that was a surprisingly easy find! I think I fluked it!

Mega trip to NZ: day 3, alone with my beloved squib. We wanted to drive to Kaikoura and find some caches on our way. I noticed this cache did not have any logs in my GPS. I was a little bit excited, but quite sure someone must have found it. Indeed: but I was surprised to see Kissala's FTF. First two finders from Finland! Thanks for the fun and greetings from Finland.
Making our way North towards home after the Christchurch Mega with tmann421.
Lovely coastal views and views of the tunnels. A nice quick find for us here.

FTF @ 14:31 After leaving MEGA Christchurch we started to drive to Abel Tasman National Park along this eastern coastline. We noticed that here quite near Kaikoura there was this cache with no logs and so we marked this to our GPSRs and decided to stop here, though we thought that FTF has gone to somebody, who has came to MEGA or left out of it. The weather was very fine - the sun was shining and it was warm. When we stopped our car here, we noticed many seals nearby and so we took a couple of photos first. After that we started to look for this cache and quite soon it was in our hands. We turned over and over again the logbook, but still we saw to our surprise, that there were not anyones log before us. So this was our fifth FTF in NZ already for our trip. Thanks for this cache and also stop for the seals. Very many greetings from Finland.
