There were no muggles around when we arrived, do it was easy enough to search. It took a bit of scrambling around before the container was spotted, but we got there eventually. Thanks for setting this up
Heading south with rattll, en route to GeoToroa at Dunedin. Today, started at Paparoa Point, north of Kaikoura, aiming for... somewhere in North Canterbury, tbc. Our sole confirmed target for the day is GCEB9, at Glentui. The oldest letterbox hybrid in NZ, and coincidentally a Jasmer spot that we both need. Everything else collected today is a bonus, so we're stopping as the whim takes us.Paused in Cheviot for a search in the park. Found pretty quickly. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
One very happy Itchyfeet2020 as she had not found this cache on a previous visit. And so 7 days after returning home from a five month trip to the UK and Europe, I am off on another trip. This time its within New Zealand as Itchyfeet2020 and I are on our mega road trip to Dunedin. We are focussing on particular caches for various challenges, as well as having a great lot of fun and seeing the scenery in our wonderful land. -LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!!On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in Rotorua, New Zealand with a special Block Party event. Join us to celebrate 25 years of this amazing game, and that the very first geocache hidden outside of the United States, 25 years ago, was hidden here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this event, so check out the "[GCAKR25](https://coord.info/GCAKR25) 25 Years of Geocaching NZ! event page, the [event website](http://25years.geocache.nz/) for more details, join the [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/924894455969387) group, and sign up to the [email list](http://25years.geocache.nz/?p=4) to get updates...If you intend to come, please make sure you get your "Will Attend" log onto the page as soon as you can in order to assist with planning the first ever Block Party in New Zealand.-
NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega - Oct 24. I was also keen to get a multi everyday so it is now the Mega Multi Roadtrip. Today is Day 1 of our trip from Wellington to Christchurch. This cache was one on our journey. We pulled in here and I recognised it immediately as where Mum and I came forca wander on a break at Xmas. We didn't find it, then so nice to do so today. Thank you, bumandworker. Mum is a lions member so nice to get this one today. It's nice to have a trip where, alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day, and the caches are calling...
A nice trip to Cheviot today.A quick find once at gz.At the moment a stormtrooper is keeping the log company.
We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. A nice little park and playground which were empty today. Once at gz we made a quick find where the GPS pointed. TftcWe stopped to read the sign about this park - Interesting history relating to this this park
Lovely wee park & grab & had a stroll around the block..T.F.T.C & room for Swag
A classic B&W container and hide. Not in the corner and not under ground. My 3rd attempt here. Cheers
Time limit on looking here and so i did not locate this cache . my fault i think !

Quick search in the area indicated by the GPS, search around a bit more, then dug a little deeper and came up with the cache. TFTC

A revisit on the way back from a family get-together nearby. On my last visit, I waited in the shelter while a muggle talked very loudly on his cell phone while standing about a meter away from GZ, after 20 minutes of waiting he had not moved on so I did. No problems this time, nobody about; TFTC
Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 1 - Christchurch to Picton. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. This was the first cache I came to today. It took a bit of a search and good bit of poking and prodding before I got my hands on the cache but it's definitely there and in good condition. TFTC, Biggles.
Thanks for more hinting Connoronner .
Found on deserted Sunday afternoon.
Added a spare paper for logs. Needs a new book.

Yes! We found this one too, on our way. Just a nice spot! Thanks for placing and maintaining!
Being a b&w hide I thought this might pose some difficulty but after checking some other logs and rooting around for a bit I managed to find it. Log is getting full.
Just happened to stop here with the family while travelling north. Cache was quickly spotted. Thanks for the cache
First day of the school holidays. Stopped close by for a lunch stop. Then came here for a play and maybe turn this frown to a smiley face. No luck for us today.
Stopped again to sign the log, here on the 28/11/19 (3 years ago)
How the world has changed! thanks again for the hide

There was a guy on his phone at GZ, waited 20 minutes for him to move on but he wasn't helping.
We sure times this right no one here or cars going past. Nice easy find and happily signed log. Thanks for this cache bumandworker.
Convenient place to stop for lunch. Just as i finished the girl playing on the slide left so quick look and got it. Continue my trip home.
The car which is electric needed a top up and the granddaughter needed a top up as well so we stopped at Cheviot and this was a quick find
The Lions guys were having a big clean up an tidy of the area... couldnt find it with the working going on.
TFTF that’s some serious leaf and rubbish, not the nicest smelling rubbish either
A quick find with angelic_kiwi. Have stopped here a few times in the past so good to finally have a chance to look for the cache. tftc
Luckily there was no one around this area today as we don't carry any children around with us to give us an excuse to be in a playground. Anyway, container eventually found and log signed off. tftc
Stopped for dinner on the way north, and only about 50m to here. That's a serious pile of leaves, and a well-tucked hide. TFTC.
25 October 2021 16:31. GSEL tried for this whilst I was getting the information for the multi nearby, but was 'muggled out'. Fortunately they had left when we returned about 15 mins later, and we were able to search unimpeded. GSEL has the honours for spotting this one, TFTC.
#10198. Day 6 of the South Island road trip around the top of the South Island (Canterbury and Westland) with Infoferret. This trip was planned to replace the Labour weekend Auckland Mega adventure. We have stayed overnight in Murchison and today are heading to Christchurch. The weather has improved in the morning and by time we reached Canterbury it was like a hot summers day.
I had waited near this playground for 20 mins for muggles to leave but they didn't so gave up. We went and found two other caches and when we got back the offenders were climbing into cars and departing. So we now had the place to ourselves. I followed the GPS to a suitable spot. Searched for a bit. Nothing. Thought it has to be there so rumaged a lot more in the leaf litter and at last felt the cache. Yes. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks bumandworker for hiding the cache here.

Stopped to get this cache but there were little muggles having fun, so thought time for some hot chips & wait with Juju54 to collect - TFTC
Found with Campmotherandken after meeting up in Cheviot. Had to wait for some muggles to move on so wandered up and bought some hot chips, sat at the picnic table & ate then waiting for them to leave. Raced in and made the find! TFTC
Down South for a few days for a wedding and all the stuff that goes along with it, hiccup, burp etc. Today it was an early morning run by myself through Cheviot. Nice and quiet here, and still dark so I had time to let the GPS settle and then a couple of minutes of shuffling leaves and there it was.
Found with NZDi. It is Waitangi Weekend and NZDi decides she wants to spend a few days in Christchurch to do some retail therapy. A couple of our grandchildren have birthdays coming up and she can't find anything suitable in the local stores in Blenheim and is hoping the big city has a better selection. The plan is to travel south on Friday caching along SH 1, do the shopping on Saturday morning and cache out at the McLeans Island MTB park in the afternoon, then head home on Sunday with a detour to cache the K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path between Kaiapoi and Rangiora (I guess that is what K2R stands for). Throughout the weekend we dated and signed our logs in full, as KM + ND or a combination of both depending on the room available on the sheet/book.
Today is day one of the trip and having pretty much cached out SH 1 between Blenheim and Kaikoura, our aim is to attempt to do the same between Kaikoura and Christchurch. This is our fifteenth cache of the day in our attempt to convert SH 1 between Blenheim and Christchurch from a trail of green into a trail of yellow. We stopped here because we had ended up on the tail of a long line of vehicles and did this traditional and got the information on the two nearby multis in the hope of solving them at our leisure then making them a traditional some time in the future. The park was unused which was fortunate as this definitely wasn't a QEF PnG and took a while to ferret out. we are not surprised it has a fair proportion of DNFs.

Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located, now to the next one!*

The last of the holiday away, a good spot to let the kids have a break and let off some energy while I found the cache. Cheers
On my way to Christchurch this morning.
Thankfully the play park was empty this morning so I ventured in for a scramble amongst the leaves and there it was.

(# 6010). Day 3 of my South Island odyssey. Today is getting caches from Kaikoura to Christchurch. Woke up to a fine frosty morning with views of the snow capped ranges. An uneventful trip down. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Yay! Finally get to turn this frown upside down! I've been hunting on & off for this 1 for ages...back again for another try and a clearing in the leaf litter gave me success! Having been worried it might've been harder given it's last find appeared to be November I see there's a bunch of folk who've found it this year but may not have logged it yet?? Anyway, my name is now on it and I'm happy!
TFTC, and the great hunt involved!

Second find on my South Island adventure! Getting out of the big smoke for a few weeks, road tripping around and hopefully picking up a few caches along the way.
Having observed the directions in the description half an hour or so earlier when I drove past, I was glad to see the park empty on my second visit, and had the cache in hand quickly. TFTC!

The coordinates are very good but it took some fossicking in the leaf litter to find this one. Found on a lovely warm early evening here in Cheviot. Thanks b&w.
A lovely day to visit this area. We waited till some campervan muggles had departed, then went in and it didn't take too long to find it
Yeah, nice to get this one found. had to wait for muggles to leave the park before finding this
thanks
thanks
On our way to Kaikoura for a work related activity, I took the chance to look for a cache at the playground whilst my work colleagues were having a coffee nearby. I looked quite fast at all the obvious spots, but couldn't find anything. We didn't search extensively, so it could be there! Thanks for taking us to this little playground.
Found on a road trip from Christchurch to Picton. Stopped to grab info for the nearby multi then wandered over to the empty playground. TFTC
We are stopping here for lunch, as we travel from South to North. There is a ferry to catch, so our time is limited.
As to the cache it is all quiet at GZ, no one is in the park. It took quiet a while to find surprisingly. It was when looking at a picture that I could see what kind of container I was looking for, and not long after that I had found the cache.
Thanks for the hide bumandworker

Had time to kill while charging our hired BMWi electric vehicle at the chargenet station nearby, so was v grateful to have an excuse to relax here via way of a stroll to your cache for the 15 mins we needed to wait. Have power now, will travel! TFTC SL + wee plastic tiki
Been wanting to get this one for ages, but it’s always the weekend or school holidays when I pass through so the playground is always in use. Had to stop for petrol today, and bingo! No muggle kids about! Tftc
2nd to find today. First recon had be abandoned due to muggles. Area free when returned after a bite to eat nearby but took a bit as GPS just turned on and was all over the place. Like others concerned as recent work near GZ. Located after a while just before a muggle came back to retreive the childs shoes left at the top of the slide. TFTC
