We are on a ten-day road trip from Sydney around the Central West. In Orange and had a lovely afternoon in the autumn sunshine. Mrs Gaztek solved the puzzle before we left home but unfortunately found nothing at GZ. CO might like to check the location. Never mind, nice to learn a bit more about Banjo. Cheers Gaztek

Thought we had this one in the bag as we use ChatGPT to solve all the Google questions. That was a premature excitement. Coordinates didnt match anywhere near where we thought wed be. The south 15 and East 38 has thrown me. Ive got no idea what that means. Thanks for the wonderful history lesson however.

Reperio 18:43Having seen that this one had been replaced and previously found, I headed out today in between bouts of rain, and found that the area was pretty much deserted. After a brief poke around in a few places, we managed to find the cache. Gratias Joshwa27As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Despite a hint from the CO, I was not able to find the cache. Not sure if the garden has been redone; the mulch looked fairly new.

Staying at Orange for 2 nights camped at the showgrounds.
Our 2nd day we decided on a trip to Borenore Karst what a delightful cave which normally you would have to pay to visit. Found a few other caches on our way out of town.
We returned into town to find some other caches we had DNF before or new here since our last visit.

We had searched for thi cache on a previous visit without success, today wit the permission from the CO we have replaced this cache. It was good reading about Banjo's early history.
FP for the loaction

Thankyou Joshwa27 for placing this cache.

Took a while to get the coordinates. Got there in the end! Thanks for the history!

19-Dec-21
Solved ages ago, got the new coordinates too, just no cache.... just a baby bird on the ground under a nest, which we carefully replaced for mummy bird..... rain and muggles provided no assistance to our search at all! Our 3rd DNF in 4 hunts, time to go for a bite to eat, then switching to trigs for the afternoon.....

Like other logs we have also just completed the orienteering and picked this one up whilst the kids played in the nearby park. TFTC

What does a geocaching orienteerer do with a free morning? Goes geocaching of course. The Duntryleague series was the first of the chosen caches and it was an enjoyable walk with a variety of hides to keep the mind ticking over.

Muggles were sitting right next to the cache on my first visit. Second time I found the cache easily.

Thanks for the puzzle and cache Joshwa27.

There once was a man, whiskers silver and grey.
He’d often be heard saying, let’s go this way.
It’s a shortcut he’d profess.
It never was, I confess.
But he found what he was looking for this day!
Inspired by BP himself ??
Thanks confirming the numbers and handy hint Joshwa27 Very happy to have found your hide here. Tftc!

Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
On my adventure returning to the Midwest district after a 50 year absence. today is the proper school reunion so be fun to catch up with all my old mates, and hopefully have a few smileys to the collection.

Not a very successful afternoon . No joy here either.

Visiting Orange on a short break to catch up with friends and do a little birdwatching. So of course thought I should do a few geocaches as well. Where better to start than Joshwa27's history series and this Banjo history.

#5,742

Final cache in Orange. We followed the GPS originally, then realised we couldn't access GZ location that way. So we turned around and went back a block, and found the access road to the carpark.

We walked cross-country to get the cache, then walked back to the cottage and used the footpath to get back to the car. We looked through the windows of the cottage, but it is only open Mon-Fri.

Namaste

My second visit but this time with some coords I prepared earlier. Had a decision to make bearing in mind it was a stinky hot day. Found a safe parking spot about 30m.
Container a bit buried but recognised the familiar shape.
Thanks for the cache

Boxing Day and while the family slept and enjoyed Christmas DVDs I headed out to get a few caches before meeting up at the park.
Had to abandon a couple out at Banjo Paterson way as I was short of time but arrived at the park here before everyone else so had the time to look for this one - and I needed it. GZ was correct as I had the green light (the history of was always fun to get it right first time - didn’t happen too often as I normally mucked up the maths). Hint was obvious and do I started looking (and was pretty confident what I was looking for). Felt very exposed at location and it appears a load of mulch had been deposited. Despite the possibility of snakes I excavated quite deeply and eventually had the find. Quickly signed and family arrived.
Did quite a few in this series but not certain I will get many more - will need to come back - TFTC *JOSHWA28*

3rd DNF tonight. Well 2nd really, the cache I tried was cut off by water.

Bad correct coords. Tried hint. No luck tonight.

Heading to the Queensland Muster in Barcaldine with plans to catch up with family and fellow cachers in NSW first we headed up through some uncharted areas seeking out presolved puzzles and any other caches that took our fancy.
Our last cache in Orange before heading to Bathhurst for the night but by no means the least. A great icon to remember a legendary Australian.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle with a great destination,

Had a wander around the cottage and garden before veering off to get this one. I didn’t get a green tick from the geochecker so I knew I was close but not correct. The hint helped me narrow it down and quickly had CIH. TFTC. And a favourite point for the puzzle and hiding location ( and the history here).

nice hide among the rocks. Big rocks & small!!

Having worked out the answers to the puzzle some time ago, it was good to find this after a bit of a search. Actually it was one of our first time cachers in the group who came up with the goods. We took the opportunity to visit the Cottage and were very impressed by its excellent condition. Thanks for bringing us here Joshwa.

11262. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.

After dinner we headed out for just a couple more caches - lol. Pre-solved this puzzle so once at GZ it was a pretty quick find. Log signed, cache returned and we were off to the next one.

Thanks again Joshwa27 !!

A weekend trip up through this area with SpecimenX, AngelG27 and fitzy_1965 to grab a few caches up around these parts. Of course, this meant a few more in the neat History of series. Had a lot of fun researching the info and learning a little about the area. Once at GZ, the cache was found after a short search.

Thanks Joshwa27……still a great little series.

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.

69th for the day at night-time (74th for the trip). After a long day caching, we decided to grab only a couple in the evening after a good feed at the Royal Hotel. Another case where the puzzle was solved beforehand and the find was quick and easy. Thanks Joshwa27!
