Found the hide, didn't find the cache.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

DNF but it wasn't a long search by any stretch. We'd walked along the beach and found one cache already, and Not Manly Jack was hungry, so I didn't really let the GPS settle on a location. I saw one hint item with no cache, but I'd guess there are others.
Found on a night walk with the smallest cachers and pyjamas full of sand... Didn't expect to after recent dnf, but we got lucky in the dark! TFTC!
Wondered if it was supposed to be lying loose...it could run away so I hitched it where I found it.
Tftc. A quick n easy find here today. Lovely arvo for a stroll along the beach.
Found it while in Coromandel with Aiden29 to complete There 'n Back trail between Tapu and Coroglen. We did 400km today.
Nice to meet new Geocaching Friends from Auckland right at GZ!

Had plans with Tramyard to head back to the Coromandel, this time to complete the There 'n Back trail between Tapu and Coroglen. It was an early morning start, leaving home at just after 5am to get coffee on the way to meet tramyard. A very successful day, with 65 caches found before arriving home exhausted at 11pm.
We were intending to head to Cook's Beach but we had taken a wrong turn at Coroglen and didn't realise until we were about 5km from Whitianga. Decided to continue on anyway and find the 4 new Geotour caches in the area and grab some lunch. Finally made our way to our original destination. Headed to start at the Ferry landing and make our way back towards Cook's Beach.
We spied some girls right by GZ using walkie talkies and decided it was safe to search for this cache as they were heading away from our location. Tramyard was signing the log when they returned and asked if we were geocachers. Yes we were. Ended up talking to them and inviting them to events are they were very much newbies. Asked where they were located and found out that they too were from West Auckland. What are the odds?!? We happened to be heading in opposite directions, so very likely we could have missed each other.

Tftc tricky search but got there in the end thanks to help from some fellow geocachers!
Exploring Cooks Beach today, on a lovely sunny Saturday. Nice spot here and quick find. SL. TFTC.
On a big mission to get a pile of caches so I can land my 7000th cache on either Mnt Ruapehu or Mnt Ngauruhoe on the 16th March! Hoping, weather permitting, that rustynz can join me for her 5000th cache as well on the same day. A bit of planning going into this I can tell ya!
I was watching some pretty woman trying to retrieve her lost doggie, but when I was less distracted, I was able to find the clever cache, I put my hand on it straight away, but could easily have been a mission from hell.

Today we walked the looptrack at Shakespeare Cliffs. After days of searching and finding trash-like caches, these caches were such a relieve; this makes geocaching fun! All caches where found easily, thanks to the owner(s) for hiding and maintaining them…

We took a trip to Whitianga and while hubby walked the track up to the shakepear lookout i went looking for a few more caches etc before meeting him up at the top. Then we went onto Flax mill beach and the ferry landing. I had never been on this ferry so we went across and walked around the shops for a short time and then caught the ferry back. A great day out and i hope i have not muddled too many caches. .
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at hahei.
Thank you for this cache to all the Cache owners and another smiley face.

Find number 4755. As I wandered over towards GZ I wondered on the hide. Thankfully I approached from the best direction and spotted the cache quickly. Signed and returned. Thank you for the placement.
It has been our first trip to New Zealand – great people and amazing sceneries. Geocaching has helped to discover New Zealand.
Thank you for the cache.

Spent a bit of time wondering why my brother couldn't see this one before realising it was a premium only cache. A nice and easy find. TFTC
School holiday trip to Auckland/Coromandel with the family. After a night in Auckland we came across to Hotwater beach Top10 for a couple nights. In the area visiting Cathedral Cove and Cooks Beach. Bit of a search netted the Bison loose on the ground.....can't be having a rampaging bison on the loose so after signing I hooked it shin height. Should be good. Cheers.
Long winter weekend stay at Cooks Beach. Once we had the right host geokid master4 found this one easily. Thanks Piggy!
Out with part of Team BOP having lots of fun on another road trip. The weather is good and I am enjoying remembering my holidays here about 30 years age. It has grown a bit but this area is much the same. No problems with this cache and enjoying the walkto work off our lunch of fish and chips. TFTC.
We'd assembled the team for another assault on the Coromandel today - my favourite part of the country. We didn't quite make it to Cooks Beach last time so we're here today to clean this place out. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers G-2, TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro... Another mission into Coromandel. The plan for today was to clear out Cooks Beach and Hahei...
A short stroll along the beach from our lunch spot... Another quick find for Team BOP. TFTC.

Today was a group assault on the Cooks and Hot Water Beach areas.
Along with Squirrel Nutcase. McJandal, NZ Flossy, Phillip Perry, TNXPRO and myself.
Left home just after 7am and our first stop was Waihi to collect 2 caches.
Opted to travel to Cooks Beach and work backwards home.
Never cached in this area but some of the group have.
Mixed bag of near drive bys, good walks and amazing scenery.
We also we had a couple of each caches to visit, in particular Cathedral Cove.
Lots of muggles today but guess there would be a lot more in the summer time.
Great day of caching
Good fish & chips at Cooks Beach for lunch and good Pizza at Waihi for dinner.
Thanks to the cache owners for caches we found today. SLTFTC

Off on another trip to the Coromandel with TeamBOP in perfect weather conditions.
We stopped at many great locations and had a lot of laughs along the way, which makes for a really enjoyable trip.
We have cached through Cooks Beach before but never found time for this one.
We made quick work of this cache in a great location.

Had some free time and what better way to spend it that with Mrs Dragon having a look at an area that we hardley ever get to investigate. After a pleasent trip over here and a chance to have some breakfast (on the journey over here) we started by collecting some caches at Cooks Beach and finished later in the day at Hot Water Beach as the two local Earthcaches were our objctive for the day before heading home.
With a bit of a stormy sky we signed the log along a beach that appeared prestine with locals walking in the wind.
Replaced the Log as it was full
Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot

Mr TW and I caught the ferry over from Whitianga and walked from the ferry drop off to the end of Cooks Beach and back again picking up all the caches along the way. Really enjoying this walk along here and was a nice quick find. Thanks
This morning, we had a great walk starting in Whitianga heading to Cooks Beach with nice trails and amazing views over the sea and the landscape.
On the way back this one was found quickly after a short side trip into the dunes; tftc

I had a preconception as to where the cache would be, but after exhausting those possibilities, I managed to spot the cache. The log full. TFTC.
Nachdem wir morgens in Hahei gepaddelt, nachmittags gebadet hatten, unternahmen wir einen abendlichen Spaziergang nicht nur um die Dosenstatistik aufzubessern. Tftc
This was a nice quick find not like the last one many thanks for bringing me here cheers
Easy find thanks to the clue. I've unsuccessfully tried to find this one before but was looking in the wrong tree, and perhaps not reading the clue. TFTC. #223
Good hide & cute container I also have used such a container.

Today some sightseeing and caching in Hahai and around.
This was a a beautiful, sunny day ... no rain - and mostly sunny !!
I strolled over to ground zero and searched for a short time . The coords are right on the mark.
The cache is in good condition and the log paper is nice and dry. I took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log paper.
I carefully replaced the cache right back where I found it and went to the beach for a walk.
*thanks to G--2 for your cache*

We went to NZ for six weeks and did some geocaching on the way
We started exploring in Christchurch. What an exciting city, we loved it! The ReStart Market, the food trucks, the people, awesome city! After CHCH we went south. Dunedin and the pinguins were great! We went to Stewart Island and even Ulva Island to see some birds and find a geocache down south. From there we went to the North. Doubtfulsound was beautiful and sunny, Lake Wanaka wonderful! Abel Tasmantrack is an awesome hike, i can recommend it to all geocachers. The North Island was also a succes. Rotorua and the Vulcano's, wow! Napier, Tongariro Crossing, Ohopi Beach, White Island, big Kauri trees, Cape Reinga, the Bay of Islands... it was all fantastic.
We did love travelling and camping in NZ.

We explore Coromandel. From Thames, drive via Coromandel to Whitianga and then Cooks Beach, Cathedrale Cave and Hot Water Beach. We had great views and fantastic scenery. We made hikes and puddled holes in the sand. And got us some nice cache.
Thanks to all the owners for the containers. Without the caches, we would never have found some nice place. Greetings from Germany the Moorhelmis

Quick find but also felt like I was searching through a freedom campers toilet. Freedom camping used to be so cool but I think it's time has been.
The iPhones were all over the place and the hint had us puzzled. Finally Mr S got his Garmin GPS out and went straight to it.
Thanks G--2.
Thanks G--2.
Missed finding this last trip. Back in area today hoping for a smiley & found it on the ground. So put back in obvious spot according to hint. TFTC
Searched at the coordinates, a little off putting with the location having been used as a toilet. Searched nearby with no luck also.
Queen's Birthday weekend in Whitianga. Some cycle mounted caching on a surprisingly mild Saturday. Took the ferry across, with cycles aboard and off we went.
We made a straightforward find on this one. Enjoying the views.
Cache in order; log signed, then re-hidden safely, just as found. That is, well jammed back where bison belong.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Holidays! - 25 days - around 5000 km by campervan! It was a great time with a lot of experience, im-pressions and some very nice geocaches. We went from Christchurch to Auckland and tried to find every day minimum one cache. Preferred old ones and rarely ones like virtual or webcams.
Awesome place with nice Geocache!
Thank you for the Geocache.

Our second dnf, only ( I hope)!because the heavens suddenly opened and we weren't prepared and there were 2guys sheltering in their pick up and they were watching us so we dashed back to the car and escaped.
Our agenda for the day was to visit Hot Water Beach, Hahei & Cathedral Cove and finally Cooks Beach. Despite our last cache find being just a few kms as the crow flies from our accommodation in Whitianga, we had a 30 minute drive to look forward to. A most enjoyable day in a scenic area, made even more enjoyable by the cache placements.
This was our second Cooks Beach piggy find. As it was a bison tube, I was initially looking for the wrong sort of hide. Luckily I looked in the right place and saw it, while StreetWalker was examining another botanical feature. TFTC.

Made this cache on our 4 weeks honeymoon through New Zealand. So many great places to see in this beautiful country.
On the 20th day of travelling with our campervan we drove from Hot Water Beach to Coromandel. Today we travelled together with Marathoni64 which are good friends from Germany who travel through New Zealand at the same time. After visiting Cathedral Cove we drove to Cooks Beach for some geocaching. Spontaneously we took the opportunity to take a bath. The water was fresh but felt good. This cache we found.

Heading up to Coromandel for a few different reasons so decided to leave a little earlier and make a full weekend of it get a few geocaches on the way.
Been wanting to do the caches along Cooks Beach for a while, but also seemed to find myself on the other side of the harbour in Whitianga instead. A nice hide! Took a few minutes hunting to locate, even though I picked up on the cryptic clue pretty quickly.
