We parked near the TH on Hammers Road and enjoyed the walk to GZ. There were several birds to be seen and heard as well as very nice bushland. Coords were very accurate which made for a quick find. TFTC celtical

In the area today with the doggo and picking up a few caches. Found as described and replaced as found.TFTC!

13-Feb-24
Bit too thick in there and coordinates were sending me off the rock edge, maybe next time Sad

Another quick find - after work. Aiming to get 777 before end of this month, TFTC

After a nearby FTF we headed over to an area we had a few still to find. A nice little walk around. This one too certainly took a bit to spot and we missed it on the first pass, read some logs, looked further and then came back to where we started and made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Could not find the cache around the given coordinates, even looked at other users logs and could not find. Not sure if it's on the top of the cave .

Nice one thank you, easy enough if you use common sense

After reading the logs of previous finders I found the cache about 12 meters away from the published coordinates. Logsheet is dry and cache in good condition.

Like others I looked fruitlessly then moved on for a quick find. I can only imagine what once was. Thanks celtical.

Before the Parramatta Lake Event I went on a 6 hour caching expedition with DiscoBob3 in a nearby series of reserves. We had a fair amount of rain but it didn't hold us back.

Looked for this one for a long time in the wrong spot. Once we stopped relying on GPS and more on geosense it was CIH. Unfortunately we didn't see the original but this was just a sturdy tube here today.

05-Dec-21
Out for a morning of geocaching with jennyfromthefarm, before the GNSW Christmas event in Lake Parramatta today.

After looking high and low for a while and nothing to be found, went a bit further down the path and bingo found what we were looking for. It is more a large tube now and not red as in the description, though based on the CO comment this is temporary.

Looks like he must have got all grown up & flown the coop. I've replaced him with something not as flighty for the time being until lock down lets me find a suitable replacement. Cache on!

06-Oct-21
A pretty good out caching. I spent an hour on this on top of the cave at the bottom on the track. Some obvious traffic areas but not my day.

I’ll have to ask for a hint

4/6 on the Pemulwuy Loop today

Nice tranquil little bush spot.
Quick find once I read the description and approached from the easy side. But did have a nice bush bash before realising!
Thanks for maintaining the cache

Thanks for the cache

Teamed up with marj01 for a days caching, our first outing in a while. The break from caching has sharpened marj01's senses as he was on fire today when it came to finding the hides. TFTC and have a FP for the bird.

Easy find once you get up! We had a good laugh!! TFTC!!

26-Apr-20
Was skeptical at first upon arriving at GZ - this cache hadn't been attempted for 9 months! But we soon made the find. Cache is in order and logbook dry, although a bit torn.

Too many people about today, but I think I know where it is. Will come back again!

25-Sep-19
A quick cache before heading off to work today.
After parking by the community centre i found my way down to the GZ.
Its a nice area however it might be a good spot for a small CITO.
With the help of the clue i was able to find the nesting site and feed the bird.
The cache is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

Up here from Canberra - Bringing my muggle friend here for her Mums 90th birthday party. Party is tomorrow, but we came to visit her Mum for a while when we got here today, and I was quite happy to come for a walk nearby and find a couple of Geocaches while the 2 of them had a Mother/daughter talk about a few things ... same as I had done early last year, last time I brought the same friend up to visit her Mum ... So this was a good chance to have another look for the one I couldn't find that time, and I also grabbed another that had not had enough time to come and look for then - hadn't realised I could get back into the village from here, so I had gone walking along the road, and along the other side of the river Smile
TFTC - this was the first one I came looking for, just down the back of the retirement village we were visiting at. My phone wanted me down when I was up and up when I was down... more than once -> some fun scrambling up and down through the lantanas and stuff before Geocaching logic finally kicked in and I searched in a more likely place... and I finally found it...
Managed the retrieve/sign/replace quietly but then couldn't resist making it make a noise Smile
... now I might have just enough time to dash over the other side of the river to turn that other sad blue face into a smiley Smile

Edit:
A: this was a fun cache to find on Geocaching Day Smile
B: I thought of a name - GEOrge ... LOL
(Not sure my Son would be impressed ... but in my defence - back when I named him George, Geocaching was not yet even a thing ... )

28-Jul-18
Not having read the description at first, I tried to approach GZ from the closest point. However, realised that I was on the wrong level and did not feel to climb to the right one, so I moved my point of attack to by the side of the Community Centre. Walked along the track down to GZ, with nobody else around. Tried a couple of different possible hiding places, before the cache and its guardian was discovered.

26-Apr-18
Took us a lot longer then it should have, cords seemed a bit out, TFTC

13-Mar-18
Located at 3:12pm. I do love this cache guardian. Always good for a chuckle I had been in Seven Hills since 6am for work training and was thirsting for a find after three days of not caching and thus scooted quickly to this one on my way home. Many thanks to Celtical. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!

11-Mar-18
I think I came here many years ago to find a cache in the same spot.

Lovely trail down from the road and not too messy considering that it is so suburban. Plenty of rustles in the bushes and bird calls.

Easy find after arriving at GZ, albeit with a bit of scrambling.

Thanks for the cache!

03-Jan-18
We found this on a pleasant walk in the cool morning drizzle. There’s something very familiar about GZ, I feel I’ve cached here before but perhaps it’s just a bad case of déjà vu. Anyway, the camo was soon found and, in removing it, I pierced the solitude, but only once Smile.

Nice one, thanks celtical.

03-Jan-18
It's an interesting walk to GZ from Hammers Road, quite agreeable despite the industrial detritus strewn about. It’s a fun container, which gave us a bit of a start when we grabbed it. SL TFTC

11-Oct-17
Parked at the suggested coordinates and then walked along the boardwalk to GZ. Once at GZ checked a few places and the cache was soon found. The log was signed and the cache was replaced as found. Thank you celtical for placing this cache in such a lovely area.

11-Oct-17
We decided to take the shorter walk along the track to go and look for this cache. It was a pleasant walk and GZ was soon within reach. The cache container was an unexpected surprise. Somehow we had thought it might be something different. We signed the log as required but the only thing that we found impossible to do was feed it quietly! It was a noisy character!
Thanks celtical for a fun cache and a surprising and unexpected container.

07-Oct-17
Read through previous logs and approached from both directions. There were too many possibilities and even after looking at clue I had no idea what or where I should look for. Checke obvious spots but still didn't find. Thanks for bringing me to this spot.

#4334- Out in this area doing a spot of caching with bikerbuddy.
As we headed down the walkway, it veered off to the left, so we weren't sure it was the right way in. The wooden walkway has had a tree fall on it and has partially collapsed, so it actually has a 'track closed' sign on it, but we hotfooted past it, seeing people on the track further down anyway. bikerbuddy remembered immediately the RAGGS cache that used to be here, in almost the same spot.
I am renown for using the word ' interesting', but this cache certainly was. We tried to keep it quiet so as not to attract the others on the track. Thanks

29-Sep-17
After finding our way between the pool and townhouses (there was a young lady sunbathing next to the pool, but I didn't notice) we soon found ourselves at this spot. I remembered it. It was the site of an old RAGS cache. I recently found another cache occupying the same site as an archived cache and reasoned it might be hidden in the same place. So the first assumption I made here was that I should check the old spot first. Sure enough, I found this rather ridiculous looking cache immediately.

And for those who haven't found this cache and think I'm being mean, I am not. This is a ridiculous looking cache and I'm sure the owner would be offended if I said it wasn't.

It sounds stupid too. Keep it quiet!

Thanks

After making good a DNF on 'TheSteps' I saw this nearby cache that has been placed by Celtical, whom I'd met only a week and a half ago at the International Caching Day Event. I hadn't realised they had caches in my local area.
Well.... I made this all harder than it should. I enters the track off Hammers Rd and thought I'd be clever and take a short cut. This move placed me on a higher level above the drop off that runs along this area, and had to make my way all the way to the community hall to get back on the track. I finally got myself to near GZ but my phone wanted me up at a higher level. Once there. It wanted me back down. I read back through some logs and got the gist. Third time was the charm, I homed in on a better GPS signal and soon had the very different cache in hand and signing duties were fulfilled. With the cache back in its hidey hole I followed the track back out to Hammers Rd.

Find: 450
2nd of 24 finds for today
0 DNFs for today
Cache:Is in good condition
Log/Logbook: Is in good condition

T4TC Celtical it was lovely to have met you.

18-Jul-17
Tftc. Pretty quick find, slightly left of where the gps wanted us.

12-Jun-17
I considered a fence hop and downhill bush bash from Bluegum then read the escription and decided on the path next to the community hall.

There was s half hearted attempt at a sign stating the track was closed. If I could see the damaged walkway and it's still easy enough to pass so I headed towards the cache.

I found the hungry guy in the first spot I checked.

I think he looks like a "Phil" if he doesn't have a name already

23-May-17
I followed the track from Hammers Road, not quite as nice as the other side of Toongabbie Creek but still alive with small birds of many species this morning.
It was an easier walk than I expected as google maps made it look like it was all steps but in fact it is almost completely flat.

When I reached a spot where the GPS suggested I leave the track I checked several places with no luck then checked the hint.
Hmm thinking outside the box I went for another area and immediately spotted something suspicious. On closer inspection I found him!

In my list of caches to look for today I had written this one down as Feed Me Quickly. He certainly looks like he needs a good feed!

Now I see its Feed Me Quietly, neither he nor I made a sound as I fed him my monika so all good.
He's back hiding in wait for the next cacher to come along and feed him.

Had a look around called up CO and last finder without any luck.

Suspect missing.

Parked up on the street and then down the ramp and stairs. A dead tree has fallen across the wooden walkway, breaking the railing and some of the walkway. Cache is still accessible via the stone path though, so all good.

I followed a trodden path in and soon made an interesting hide. haha, cool hide here Celtical.

Coordinates changed to:
S 33° 47.242 E 150° 59.049

Distance from original: 54.8 feet or 16.7 meters.

I could hear him whimpering from where I was standing, which makes me think there might have been something else cuddling up to him, be careful next person who goes looking.

This is why I love geocaching. I would have never found this beautiful piece of nature if it wasn't for this cache. Unfortunately finding the cache was a different story. Gps pointed to the wrong side of the road. After reading some logsi searched the right side but it still took a long time. Great hide. Master Q loved the unusual cache:)
Favorite point.

24-Jul-16
Parked a bit to the north in what may be a private estate though not signposted, given they seem to have their own recreation centre next to the walkway leading to the track. Like others GZ wanted me closer to the creek, but looking at the Terrain rating and using some geosense I quickly guessed where I probably needed to be and sure enough there it was. Nice and easy, a bit tricky rolling the log back up and I had to do it a bit tighter to make it fit. Thanks celtical.

My GPSr wanted me in the middle of the creek, but my paf wanted me elsewhere, and guess what? they were right!

After not being able to do the "Puzzle" cache upstream because of muggles I crossed the creek there and came to this one. Jordsau soon came upon me -he had seen me cross over and followed. He gave me an opinion on where this cache might be as the signal had us down by the creek. I checked out a few geotrails and sighted the cache from about 1m and at the right angle.

Another Alfyboy Adventure
So, I thought this would be a quick cache. I parked nearby and walked into the bush. It was thick everywhere, so I tried from further up the road, but nothing again. Then I decided to come back again and pushed my way through the dense bush. I got to around 18m from the cache...UNTIL...I came to a mighty drop of quite a few metres, 5 maybe. Ohh, can I get down there? I'll try over here! Ahh ok, I see a way down, climbing Alfyboy style. So I made like Jack and climbed down my beanstalk (Pics attached of where I came from) Wink

So then I started searching, but GZ was no where near where I could find anything. So I read some logs and moved my search and Voila made the find. I fed the creature and he stayed quiet for me. Then I noticed, where I stood before, the cache was directly below me...hahaha...So I managed to climb up and got back to the car OK. TFTC.

Found a couple of weeks ago but forgot to log it. The GPS had me scratching my head but geosenses were a more reliable source. TFTC!

05-Dec-15
After the Yooooou! cache walked across the road bridge and then turned right to take the track along the creek which started out as a 4WD trail then petered into a bike/walking track taking me through the old quarry which was very familiar from a previous cache by ruffasgutts4x4. A good walk on a warm afternoon and not a soul around on a Saturday afternoon. Got to GZ and managed to look in the right area straight away and make the find. Signed the log but was rewarded with a loud squawk when I put it back.

Thanks!

04-Dec-15
The gps was pointing one way while the hint sugested the other. With the help of my caching sense the cache was found without a sound. Though lots of lizards scurried away from the track as I walked down there.
Thanks for the cache.

03-Dec-15
Made the decision with snoopy to make this cache our find for the day and so I followed the directions of the cache owner to start from Hammers Rd so I waited for snoopy and dave to arrive. After a while I gave them a call as I thought they should have got to the trailhead by now and found out they had found a closer trailhead on Centenary so I drove on over to meet them. This was a much better way in. Got to GZ, I looked up, dave went up and his way was more successful SL #2333 on streak day #1246 TFTC

I had a spare 10mins after school drop off. Fortunately that's about how long this one took to walk in grab and run back out. He was very quiet as I signed the log but didn't want to be returned and left alone without much complaining. Hopefully a steady stream of visitors will keep him quiet and happy.
This site looked very familiar. I'm sure I've found another here in the past (a multi maybe?).

#2460 (1 of 3 today)

While I'm generally trying to keep some caches close to home in case of emergencies, I noticed three nearby caches were published the same night I got back from Adelaide.
Not going after the First2Find on them.

But today decided they would be a good triple grab - and there are still more that turned up recently that are closer to home.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Parked opposite the Community Centre in Centenary Avenue, and made my way down the steps to the trail and sporadic boardwalk.

Got to GZ and started looking on the wrong side of the trail. Realised pretty quickly that there were no sensible hides there. Checked recent logs. Ah, Right.

Refocussed my search and still couldn't spot anything. Finally I got myself into the right spot to espy something suss. Hmmm - CIH!

Interesting cache. Not a peep out of it until I sat down to complete signing duties and it went off. Went off a few more times - including on the replace.

Then back out and onto my next target.

Well, what a long walk, in which I started 30m to GZ but on the wrong side of the creek. Walked past a home with large boulders standing on there end, opposite a scout camp, small creek crossing again, through a small park and past the other two new releases. I can see the main road again! While holding my camel with supplies, I wondered how it can manage the boardwalk stairs.
I stumbled then awoke from my dream of sore feet and a long quest for geocaching riches.
Finally, onto Hammers Rd, oh there's my car, 400m to go.
Crossed that dreaded creek and used the fire trail which disappeared to a goat trail after 70m. Dam those grass spurs!
Again walked past the cache and used the wrong turn off to a false GZ, nothing here.
Made my way to a likely hide and CIH, first thoughts were of a particular Darrel Sommers show. Another fun hide, thanks "C"

1/12/15. 10:34 AM. Cache #3250. Streak day #527.
5th of 5 this morning - all new inside my 20km circle - Middle Cove, Strathfield & Northmead.
**FTF** #136

After finding "Froaderick Fronkensteen", I was only just over 300m from this cache, but I wasn't sure if it could be accessed by the same path because there looked like at least one water crossing involved. So I decided to head back to the car on Glenn Ave and drive around closer.

morry9 and JordsAU had found the 4 other caches on their midnight run, and I assumed this one had gone too, although they hadn't logged any online finds or DNFs at the time. So, you never know...

I tried to come in from Bluegum Circuit but could only get to within 12m before I was stopped at the top of a small cliff. Back to the car and then started again from Black Wattle Circuit. Now I had about an 800m walk ahead of me and it was getting hotter, but at least I had more confidence this way would get to the cache.

When I finally did get to GZ, I had a choice of several hiding spots to try at many different levels, but I ended up at the right place first time. Removed some camo and saw red (not pink?) and thought it was as good a time as any to make a little noise. Opened the attached cache and saw a blank log. Woohoo!

I was gobsmacked! I thought the boys must have packed it in after Fronkensteen at 1:30am. So I got one for December after all! TFTC.

I parked in Centenary Avenue and made my way down the path, ramp and boardwalk to the trail. Once approaching GZ a realised that the coordinates where showing the wrong side of the track and I began checking the obvious side. I quickly spores the camo, a parrot in a tree, and went to bring it down. Once under the camo I realised it was real and had moved!?! By now the GPS was showing yen metres back along the track, if still on the wrong side. So I checked a likely spot and soon had cache in hand. I couldn't keep him quiet though. I sounded like a squeaking canary!?!
