With some personal health challenges in recent years and growing kids with diverse sporting commitments, maintenance is not as achievable as it used to be. Indeed, my involvement in any form of geocaching in general is pretty limited at present, so I will create some space on the board on focus on ALs, which I dont need to maintain!

Couldn’t find it. Another day

14-Jun-22
Yes! After a fruitless search at number three came along here and found this one. Clever hint. TFTC

Afer a false start of being up on the high side, made our way down and located the entrance. TFTC

Another of the four that i could actually solve. And another logical puzzle. Found this one though. We were on the high road first pass, went and did the eath cache, cause its the day to get one, then grabbed this one on the way back.. Saw the hide from afar. So many large mozzies guarding the entrance. TFTC.

I did cheat
Enjoying a lovely walk past GZ with geokids and dog, commented to youngest cacher that looks like a great spot for a cache but there isn't one on the map. That didn't stop an instant search by the youngest.
How excited when a cache was found. Grabbed the name to find it's origin.
All good and dry had no pen with us but pic available if CO requests

What a beautiful lake we have here in Lake Macquarie, I originally started looking in the wrong area until I read the hint and instantly knew where I should be looking tftc

Today I set out to find 25+ caches with different D/T combinations, to qualify for "The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge" (https://coord.info/GC54RAX) ...

Notes on this cache: It's about time I got around to logging some more of the Garbageman's caches! Big Grin And indeed it was this gentleman with whom I originally attempted the challenge mentioned above. We didn't manage to qualify but it was a great day out!

At home now I have just learned a new word, and it's not "Balustrade" which had me wondering when I was first searching for the cache. The co-ords put me at a kind of mid level location. But like the dodgy bloke who sold us our first house there was a suggestion to go "lower, lower". Well it all worked out fine Smile . Soon I had spotted something suspicious and had the cache in hand. Log signed. I *really* would have loved to take the My Little Pony stamp roller, but had nothing to swap it with (Damn!) So instead I left a 20 cent 'ATO' coin, because ATO staff are cool. And what better than money to have the punters rolling in to one's cache? TFTC t_g! Hmmm, this "Bigger Boat #1" cache is not too far away ...

18-Jan-20
I was initially on the wrong level, but after realising my mistake (and accidentally disturbing two possums) I found the cache easily. TFTC!

A walk in Kosciusko National Park was planned many months ago for the first week of January, before the now infamous fires were but a spark. As Christmas came and went, and the fires grew worse, I was not aware that fires were also starting in Kosi National Park. A day before we were to fly out the park was closed for a few days due to nearby fires, so with the chance of still going, we headed to Sydney. We waited and waited for the warnings to clear, but sadly this was not to be, and in fact, it has gotten much worse and the closures continued. We were not going to Kosi . While this was an inconvenience for us, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much worse than us in this devastating event.

We decided to stay around Sydney and Newcastle for the week, and salvage as much as we could of our holiday. We had some great walks, cliff faces, beaches, swims and rocky crags. It was a fantastic time all around. Thanks to all the CO’s for the work they have put into these caches.

Logs were signed as The Bromance for Seffnjarah. CrookedPete, JeznDez and myself to save room in the logbooks.

07-Jan-20
Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) have enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches.

The first planned adventure for the brand new decade was a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.

Enroute to our adventure, Australia's bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the Kosciusko region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual, rare and interesting caches along the way.

Having stayed in Newcastle, the time had come to clean up some solved puzzles in the local geoart in the area including this series. Approached this one from the wrong elevation, but got there soon enough

Some logs were signed with individual names or initials if log space was an issue, others with "Bromance". Our groups brand new "Bromance" stamp also got used on some cache logs.

Thanks the garbage man

Pete

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Yesterday my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved. Sadly they didn't and the National Park was closed so it was time to turn tail and slowly head for home.

After spending the night in Newcastle, we headed out after breakfast to commence a full day of caching in the area including collecting a few solved puzzles in the area. Managed to attack this one from the wrong level to start with but soon adjusted our elevation and had the cache to hand. TFTC

Mega Day 3 - Headed out early after a yummy Scout-supplied Bacon & Egg Roll. Our aim was a loop of the lake targeting a selection of caches, including this Bigger Boat series. Next stop of the day. Parked nearby and walked to GZ for the find. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Thanks to all of the COs for their caches !!

A big day caching with friends today as we continued geocaching while being in the area for the MEGA. Many hours already invested with puzzle solving we were glad the finds were not too difficult to make. We signed the log MC Team to save space in the logbooks which will be taking a beating this weekend. Many thanks the_garbageman for these caches!! They are in great locations around the lake. Cheers!

I had worked out all the puzzles prior to leaving home 790 klm away and armed with the corrected
co ordinates it was time to complete this series. Used youngoldfella in most of the logs but used YOF in any log sheet that was small or micro to conserve space on the paper. The series was great fun and some hides were easy some where tricky and one you got set. Pick the tide for this done. Apologies for the boiler plate logs. TFTC the_garbageman

Oz Geo Muster weekend Easter 2018. Day 3. Today I headed out with Fitzy_1965 and Minnek for a lap around Lake Macquarie and lots of caching in the bright sunny heat of the central coast. This was the second series we took on today, and all the hides proved interesting and some a real challenge.

The ninth find of the day. This series was one solved before the mega event in an attempt to find all the caches in all the geoarts. We decided to give this series a crack before the event at lunch time and that turned out to be a good call. As we made our way around the lake, Loci612, buhfuhguh and I racked up the finds on this series. Each find had its own little challenge which made this series memorable and we were lucky enough to have found them all. TFTC the_garbageman!

Found with Freddo while attending the OzGeoMuster in Port Macquarie over the Easter weekend.
It was a fantastic four days filled with finds, fraternizing, Freddo and friends. Sorry for the generic logs as we found so many caches. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find.

Today was the first official day of the mega event and myself, Cankid and buhfuhguh woke up nice and early and were off by 7am. We had a pretty huge day planned which consisted of completing the "Bigger Boat" series, finding a few of the rare virtuals, attending the flash mob and then spending the rest of the afternoon doing the highly anticipated "OZGM" geoart.

We had a long and tiring day but by the end of it we managed to complete every single cache on our list and were thrilled by the results! Thanks to all the hiders and organisers! Cache specific log below.

*P.S* - Signed as **LBC** in the logbook. ( **L** oci612 , **B** uhfuhguh, **C** ankid)

Walked here from the last cache as there wouldn't be much parking on the corner and made a quick find which was nice! Thanks!

So finally, after 5 weeks of torture I have hit the mid semester break for Monash University. And luck for me that it coinsides the Geomuster this year, so after working hard over the holidays I was able to put some money aside for my 4th mega event. Arriving to Newcastle Airport late on the 30th I only had a couple days off before heading home on the tuesday morning. Meeting lots of familiar faces and meeting many new faces was a major part of my first mega out of my home state. Eitherway with lots of caches done this weekend and not enough time to write up detailed logs for all of them (mainly due to my 3 3000 word geology reports due after my week break). But eitherway thanks for the caches/ event I had an absolutely amazing weekend this weekend and cannot wait for my next trip to the beautiful NSW and especially the astounding Lake Macquarie area.

#4927 (5 of lots and lots today)

After registering at the Geomuster I had two days of caching. Too many to comment on individually - if I'm to retain my sanity. So here is the cut and paste version!
So many there were times we just assigned one person to do logging duties - those saved seconds really add up compared to passing the log around!

Day 1 was Puzzle Day. A few sets were nabbed and it's really useful to have a squad watching your back. The finds just fly by. Mind you, the facts a number of them were park and grabs helped up the numbers.

The first day also included an event near the Geomuster site - I suspect the Club didn't know what hit them once we arrived in great numbers. What any club members normally there thought...

Day 2 was Lab Cache / Traditional Day. Of course other cache types were in the mix including a Virtual. A lot of driving around getting the Lab Caches (can I say the chips in the establishment near the Flash Mob were very generous in quantity and quite tasty as well).
After a series of traditionals in the bush at Mt Hutton it was time for me to head home.

Thanks to **TARDIS0061**, **EverestHigh**, **Brewmaker**, **The Bebes**, **Team Merlin** and **phlhotos** for the finds this weekend.
Of course thanks also to the Geomuster Committee.

Top time had. I'll have to do this again some time.

Now having caught up with all of the crew we tried to find as many caches as we could in a 12 hours of daylight this one fitted into our plan of attack so pulled over to get this one. A solution for this one was made so it was included in areas we wanted to get too. Same as some of the others in the series

Found the cache. We all signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle series the garbageman

Solved early on in our quest to rearrange the lake geoart. And hopefully that's as close as we ever get to the inspiration of this cache, the blue ring occy.

A quick find by DiMorgan who we were travelling around the series with. One beautiful location after another, what a great series! TFTC the_garbageman.

Found at 1:10 PM GAFF? in the company of The Morris, DiMorgan, geono and today maccamob. We signed our name as "D3" in the log sheets - which is the area that we are staying at the showgrounds Smile
This cache took a lot of doing - went up and found a dead end, then went down and had to get our feet wet, but nothing. So after searching for 40 minutes it was time to call the CO and - yep - please replace Big Grin

We are now camped at Morisset for the Geo Muster at Easter with our interim caravan.
Today we joined in with 4 other teams to primarily tackle the We're gonna Need a Bigger Boat series before it gets crazy at Easter.
A group of us had worked on the puzzles - man some of these were mind benders but with some persistence they were all solved for the event.

All logs have been signed with the infamous camping spot team name of D3 + Maccamob.

Thanks to previous finders for identifying the damage to the cache. We've fired up the laminator this morning and made all the content labels, grabbed a new container, and replaced it in the same position. New container does not have a pen in it though, so please ensure you bring your own.

You will need to leave the main path to access this one - make sure you end up on the correct level - there's no need to bush bash or trample anything.

Solved ages ago but decided to do this one today for the souvenir as we were visiting my parents in Swansea. We left their place late so it was completely dark by the time we got to GZ and we had no torch, just the light on my phone. Read the clue but though it meant something else. After 30 minutes searching the bush in the dark and thinking this doesn't seem like 1.5 terrain, I Googled the clue and realised we were way off. Took another way and the cache was found. We left some swag. This was our first cache at night time and kids thought it was fun searching in the dark. TFTC.

Found on a lovely weekend staying up at Lake Macquarie. Worked these out several months ago but hadn't been back in the area until today. Nice quick find once we chose the right level.

I left this series a while before attempting to solve them. While sorting through some NSW puzzles these came up and got solved. This puzzle was solved pretty quickly.
After coming close for work I though I would finish the journey and find the cache today. Walked from number one. Started looking in the wrong spot and eventually found my way. Cache was found easily and my legs were getting super itchy.
Thanks for the walk, puzzle and nice sized cache!
