Day 26? Of my TA adventure..
First one of the day was a nice quick find tftc

Enjoying this walkway.Made our way slightly off the track and made a quick find here.Cache out in the open.A nice place to come.
Got it, nicely back in place now. Really enjoyed this wee walk this morning - I started at car park at Prices Rd & wandered across Puhinui Reserve to find two 'grotty' caches. I regularly go to Puhinui Reserve to run but have never ventured in this direction, enjoyed discovering a new area, path & scenery. TFTC & recent maintenance
I was in the area, so I stopped by to check on this cache. All was fine, but I replaced the cache with a new container and a waterproof log.
Surprising container given the rest of the series but quick easy find again! TFTC
Instead of looking at my phone I made an ass out of me by searching under the obvious. Duh! blonde moment as when I did look at my phone I was I was still 10m away so searched where I was suppose to and made a quick find.
Another nice and sunny day so I decided to make another little tour in the area.
I enjoyed the nice weather and my walk, happy that I could find all the Caches which I tried.
That is my first and only GROTTY so far which is another kind of container. Logbook is still the FTF logbook
Thanks for hiding!

We walked along the path then zeroed in on GZ. We were surprised to see the cache lying in the open here - that is not a normal GROTTY tube. Signed the log and re-hid the cache in a spot that matched the hint. TFTC.
cache number 3532 and day 114 of my current streak. A nice walk along the correct track. A couple of muggles were crossing the bridge when I arrived so after they left I started my search. Firstly looked in the obvious but this was wrong so trusted my GPS and there it was. Signed and returned. Thank you for the placement.
Out for a few caches in the company of kiwis69 after what turned out to having been a long trying week for the both of us but for very different reasons. So of course looking for the opportunity to grab some caches in the south Auckland area to try and make a bit of a hole in the place.
So we left home at 5.30am with great plans in mind and a chance to put the world to rights. Hitting South Auckland it was a chance to grab a few of the more urbanized caches before heading out to areas with not quite so many people about.
All in all we managed to locate 55 caches of a variety with only two DNF's for the day. We had a great day and loved the variety of caches we came across. Thank you to all the cache owners for the effort to both place and maintain these caches. Sorry for the mainly copied logs. It was just a case of sorting out the best parking spot then walking to GZ. Think we found the spot and kiwis69 found the cahe. A Quick find here. All logs signed KC to save space.

Headed up to AKL with C&D to grab some numbers &, more importantly, have some fun & a lotta laughs after a hard week. Signed as KC to save space. C&D had worked out a grotty cross-country direct route to get us to the nicer path. Another grotty, another smile. Had a lot of fun with these today, TFTC
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is five. This is the fifth for the day.
Cheers for the cache.

Looked at a likely GZ but when nothing was found, read back over some logs. Readjusted GZ to make a quick find. TFTC
Hmmmm. Spent quite some time "under" the structure to no avail...
Went and got another nearby cache ...when I returned I had a thought....and went straight to it !!!!!

On the road to pick up a few more caches in our quest to fill some dot days.
A quick find.

After escaping the puhinui reserve carpark as ot was getting locked I had a new mission to find some caches at night I was going to do the ones around the sewer ponds but I was scared of by the dodgy looking guys screaming abuse as I drove past decided to keep going and ended up here. I was a little happier as there was no one around.

Came back for another try on this one with success after last night's look in the obvious place did not bring any joy. TFTC
After going for the most obvious place and being wrong looked back at the gps and it took me right to it cheers
We walked a section along the creek in Puhunini Reserve, picking up a few caches along the way.
The weather was overcast but perfect for walking.
Thanks for placing this cache Agazo

After finishing up work in Manakau today, I decided to take the opportunity to find a few hides before heading home. I wasn't keen to re walk the whole trail here so came in via one of the open green spaces. After a walk along the grass I soon arrived at GZ. I followed the GPSr which took me straight to the hide. Nice to execute a super quick find. Now to take the bridge so I can access the hide on the other side of the water way. Cheers for the cache placement!
We had been out in this area once before but just not this far along. We had to make a call early, did we cross the stream or not. We opted for not and were rewarded with the two caches we were on the hunt for.
Out with the kids to give them some fresh air as they've been cooped up too long due to all the rain. Thought I bring them to this area to pick up a few caches. This was number 4 of the day and, like previous cachers, looked in the most obvious but incorrect place first. After double checking my GPS and heading to where it pointed me the cache was quickly found, TFTC!
We ignored gps and looked under most obvious object with no luck. Decided to follow gps and were soon on track and got the find quickly after that. TFTC
First time along this walkway with my hounds, and pleasant for the most part with a pool of really yucky stuff on the way here.
Can hear the airplanes going into reverse thrust very clearly.

A few hours spare this afternoon and i needed to get out for a walk. It was decided that i would head out this way and try and clean up a few grotty's. We'd been out here before for a few earlier caches but not quite as far as here. At GZ, we interpreted the hint a little wrong as we were about to give up, i decided to just follow the GPS and not rely on the hint. The cache was then quickly found, thank goodness for that! TFTC!
I was fooled here for a short while, but a rethink soon had me on track, or off it . Tftc
11.20am - Went down wrong side of stream, through paddocks of pumpkins, over a couple of fences then back onto walking track. Read description and hint and guessed this might be a sneaky hide, sure enough wasn't what I thought it was going to be. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a few caches earmarked to visit today before heading home...
In our very short Grotty experience, the cache locations have lived up to their name... but not this one. A pleasant walk and find... TFTC,

I thought this and I thought that, but eventually the cache was not there but there... over there... away from here, you should know what I mean!
Not under the structure I thought it would be hidden under. Had to search further afield to find the cache.
Found ... Mrs McMike2012 decided she'd go into work today for an hour or so to catch up on a couple of things ... I went for the ride & once there, went for a wander in the local neighbourhood, hoping to pick up on a few newish caches nearby ... this being the 2nd of 5 for the morning ... nice & quiet in the area, so was an easy find with no issues ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,131 for us.
Set out in the rain with lokky1 to get the new south Auckland caches! Quick find in the second spot we tried
Blinded by the local infrastructure for far to long , i finally believed my GPS and got the cache.
After seeing even more Grotty caches published recently, I thought it was about time a went out and tried to grab the series. All were in place and while there were a couple of locations that fitted the titles, they were well placed and easy finds. I enjoyed grabbing the series. Thanks.
Back out again this morning to find a few more GROTTY caches. I'd walked this path in the past to find some other caches. Nice to be back for another walk to find these two. As I approached GZ I resisted the temptation to check where my geo-instinct urged me to look first. Having already done a few of these GROTTY caches, I had another idea about where I should look and that's where the cache was. TFTC, Biggles.
Vistra and I decided to make an early morning of it and try and get some numbers around the airport, particularly some of the newer ones, hint is misleading but the coords are ok, quick find.

Having finished work for the year and being greeted with a nice fine day, yorkshirekiwi83 and I decided to head out and do a bit of caching around Manukau and Mangere. After continuing along the walkway we soon found the cache here, although not where we were expecting initially! TFTC!

Joined with HeMaLuDy, Purply, & Mrs Stik-A-Crane in a FTF attempt on Grotty 3. On our way in we passed this cache so logged it. Easy find. TFTC
Mrs HeMaLuDy got a message from Mrs Stik-A-Crane asking if she wanted to join forces for an attempt at the FTF on Grotty 3. So off went HeMaLuDy, Purply, Darthcacher1 & Mrs Stik-A-Crane. On our way in we passed this cache so logged it. Easy find. TFTC
Had just finished dinner and logging a cache that we had done on the way home when the notifications came through.
OOOO there's our cache released and THIS ONE. Knowing that our cache was closer to some of our Eastern competitors we thought that this would be left unguarded and easy for us to claim.
While driving to GZ Mrs NZT scoped out the best entry point using satellite images and guided Mr NZT to the best parking spot.
Headed out across the fields and got to GZ. Had already checked the clue and started searching the most obvious place without success. Rechecked the GPS and found we weren't looking in the correct area.
Relocated and found the container out in the open!!!!! DARN this seems ominous. Opened the container and were greeted with a BLANK log (PHEW).
Signed the log and returned the container to where we thought it should be hidden and log a found it note. Just as we hit submit we get a message from Stik-a-crane saying he can see us.
We search everywhere and in the distance he appears. Sorry we have already claimed the (FTF) we stayed and watched him find this one ndsign the log.

Had just got the junior cacher out of the spa, dried and dressed when the notification came through... Having FTF'd the last one in the series, I thought I'd have another go... Put a call through to my partner in crime Mr HeMaLuDy, but no answer, so off I race...arriving at a carparking space I see a familiar car... taking the GPS route (direct line) across the over grown grass and a little bush bashing, I come out onto a mowen grassed area and soon catch up with the car owners, NZTravellers, whom were heading back to the car after the find... a little too much hesitation for the FTF here tonight.
Great to catch up with NZT, hey even talked me into heading over to their newly published cache, not much convincing required.
A much nicer location than the first of the series.
TFTF.
