I was not confident to climb the rock today so I am leaving it for another day. There was no water in the Waterhole but I did feel about 3 spots of rain on my head.
Finally redemption!Came here a few years ago and was definitely not at the right elevation! Lots of water at that time too!TNLNSLTFTC
Attempted a few years ago but there was too much water to get around, but at last we have come back to find it! Found with PSGV1. Amazing view and love a bit of rock climbing. TFTC
Found while having a look around the area today, headed from the village to Paralana Springs and back. Stopped here for a look around and this cache. Once at the right elevation it was a quick find, signed log and left as found. All is good here, thanks. Find #7002 on 12 Jul 2024.TFTC The Arkaroo!
Took a bit of searching but eagle eye daughter. Interesting coming back down though. Thanks Brian
We found this cache as part of a fantastic 3 week camping trip including the Simpson Desert, Coober Pedy, Farina, and Arkaroola.
We travelled with 11 other family members and five vehicles in all and had the most amazing adventure.
We had several pairs of eyes on fit legs searching for this one with one very likely place according to the hint but couldn’t uncover the treasure.
Many thanks for the hide anyway The Arkaroo

Another day in the great Frog'n'cat adventure of '22... continuing around Arkaroola and the Gammons. (Vulkathunha)
There were many scenic photos. 4wd low was engaged but not too much lol .
We did look for boxes in the bush of course !!! Priorities...
And this was one we found [^] at least the frog hopped ahead and made quick work of it ahead of us all.!!! We also met up with some 4wd folk at the waterhole below and gave them a quick lesson on finding stuff with satelites
Thank you The Arkaroo for placing and maintaining this cache on our outback geo-travel map

Up in the donga, searching, spotting and signing cache logs with Purrfect Di, Jack, and the Froghoppin Duo, using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*Logs are composed and published with love using GSAK of course.*

Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Watch out for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Now that there are no real restrictions - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

Today's track was exploring through to the radioactive hot springs with Mattycat and Perfect Di, this little waterhole was a nce stop to stretch the legs, the water level was quite low making for a easy access to the short climb, cache was soon in hand, nice views from here

This was an interesting find as we made our way towards Arkaroola Springs today .
The water level was incredibly low, but we could see a way around it and a logical 'path' up to GZ [8].
Quickly located . TNLNSL.
Thanks The Arkaroo + RockSandra.

After a bit of a late start we set out for the hot springs visited caches along the route, stopping here to admire the striking rock wall and waterhole.
This one completed a D/T loop so that was a bonus.
Thanks The Arkaroo & RockSandra for placing and maintaining this cache

Found with SpidermonkeysMum on our adventure around the outback. Liked this spot so much we came back for lunch. I pointed out the likely hiding spot after SMM had read through the logs. Once again I was spot on. Thanks for bringing us here, twice!!
We stopped for lunch at Stubbs, after a walk to the gorge nearby. This waterhole was pretty small and green, but we found some nice shade on a warm day.

Yay. Found it. Another fun adventure, many thanks for the hide.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Our first real container at Arkaroola and it was a beauty of a climb. It’s about our limit but after reading through the logs (very handy) we decided it might be doable but were prepared to also turn back. Stubbs was our first viewing of water! Apparently there were more opportunities down the way but we were so happy here we returned for lunch. Took some great photos, but they are spoilers so just a selfie with SeaEagle2
GeoVenture Mega Event at Millicent, still looking forward to it!! A new date has been proposed for October 2021 now.

We stopped at the water hole and took a few photos. Brad tried to decide which of the ledges was the correct one. The biggest looked the most likely except there was no way to get up to it without getting into dangerous terrain. The GPSr hunted around but eventually settled pointing to an area much further left. An area which would no require climbing. Steep but walkable.
So up Brad went. To a ledge which made sense. But now the GPSr was pointing further north and reading 17 metres away. It was not safe to go further so Brad turned to give up and come back down.
And noticed a rock in a hole at chest height. With a cache behind it!
We’ll take it.
Thanks The Arkaroo

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Seven cachers set off in Four 4WD vehicles using satellites to search for caches in and around Arkaroola and the Gammon Ranges. [^] The Six day Arkaroola Odyssey had begun.
Day 5: We visit a few mines!
Not much water left today. Made for easy access to the start the short climb up to the gallery. The cache was quickly located. Another great location for a cache.
***Thanks The Arkaroo for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

We have headed north for some serious 4WD in Arkaroola and the Gammons. Today is Friday and we are on the bull dust ridden road/track/trail/rock filled creek bed at Stubbs water hole. Plenty of water here. Interesting rock face. Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Found on a fun 4WD trip in this spectacular landscape. Thanks for the cache.
Found during a caching trip to Arkaroola and the Vulkathunna-Gammon Ranges National Park in the northern Flinders Ranges. Really enjoyed the spectacular landscapes, the 4WD tracks, and the walking and rock-climbing in the quest for some challenging caches in a remote region of the State. Thanks for the cache The Arkaroo + RockSandra!
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Today, camped at Arkaroola, and went for a 4wd round the hills. Not many traditional caches here that are suitable for a couple of slightly older cachers, so it is earthcache day today.
Oh, but here is a traditional nearby, we might just take a look. When we arrived, I did not want Mr D to tackle this, but he persevered. A path tag was his reward. No wading required today. The waterhole is totally dry. Fave point for the location. Thanks The Arkaroo etc

I'm back at Arkaroola for the 2nd time and took a Muggle Eric along with me whom loved this type of caching. We didn't bring a pen pr my stamp so left a Barramundi Card.
Cheers from The Barramundi's

Luckily the water hole was dry which helped as we went in different directions initially due to arrows pointing in different directions. Eventually gz was honed in on and the cache was found. TFTC
A beauty.
With sat lock a little dodgy, we checked the hint and proceeded to the GZ vicinity. There is really only one spot it is going to be so just go there.
So pretty with a little water in the bottom. We droned the spot which was even more spectacular from above. Pic attached.
Found during an epic trip to 3 of SA state's corners - Haddon, Cameron and MacCabe. There was dust, eagles, a flat, video and lots of photography, mud and mostly more dust. An event in Innamincka broke up the dust and quenched the thirst.
Thanks to The Arkaroo and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [:o)]

Found at 12:10 with Olga during a week looking around the Flinders Ranges, and whilst walking the Bararranna Gorge Walk. After we finished the walk, we drove back here to have lunch.
The waterhole is totally dry. Not even the wallabies were hanging around here. We did see quite a few back along the gorge a few hundred metres, but there was no water there either.
The climb down was far easier than what I made of the climb up

I accidentally (really, I promise) sent the geo-goat Kids up the wrong track to the very top of the cliff before realising that it was actually only 6 or so metres high and further towards the (dry) waterhole. So I was able to find it myself whilst the geo-goat kids made their descent. Cool spot! TFTC!
found it with jacknor while doing the echo back track. the waterhole was bone dry today. quick find.
found with sir_spectre while we where camping at arkaroola. sir_spectre wanted to go " rock " 4x4 driving around all the trails up here and cache as we passed them. sir_spectre forgot the tb to drop, so made me go back to the car and get it. So i got to climb up here twice.
Found on a visit to Arkaroola while showing an interstate friend around. I enjoyed this cache - not as difficult as some others in the area in terms of height exposure. The water level is the lowest I've seen here over the years, but its still a fantastic spot for a look around. Thanks The Arkaroo + RockSandra for the cache.
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
A nice little stop on the drive into Arkaroola. Would love to come back when there has been some more rain. TFTC
We spent a while looking for this one, turns out we were too high. After a long dark and diminishing light although we thought we identified where it would be we decided it best not to try again. So this was a DNF for us, next time we will get it.
Beautiful serene location and an easy climb to collect the cache. Thanks for bringing us to s gorgeous spot
We drove past this spot on our last trip here and it's good to see there is a cache here now. A quick scramble and the cache was in hand. TFTC
What a beautiful area. I spotted what the squirrel missed and we were soon headed back to camp for the evening. TFTC
Such a shame to see an important part of this ecosystem so dry and ridden with weeds. This place really need some rain! A simple bouldering exercise turned out to be a cliff scaling, hair raising climb up to the top of the waterhole! From here, there were some simply stunning views! Once on top, i was shocked to see that some desperate farmer had made the trek up to the top (presumably a different way) to erect a fence!! Spotting the Geodad over the other side of the valley (also on a big rock) he told be theat there was no easy way down from his view. Knowing that going down the way I came up wasn't really the safest option, I found a goat/wallaby route down. Once back the waterhole, I spent some time looking for the cache, but eventually realised that the only potential hidey holes were around the corner! TFTC!!!!
Fifth cache found on our long weekend trip from roxby downs to arkaroola (thanks protestors for the extra time off). I climbed by most of the way but hubby went the rest of the way. Might be an idea to advise people to BYO pen as hubby had to climb up twice. TFT !
*FTF* @ 4:37 pm
We were given the opportunity to get away over the Easter break for an extended long weekend. Arkaroola has been a location we have always wanted visit and explore! So we left the city behind us and headed north :c) finding geocaches along our travels!!
The track out to Stubbs was in good condition. We wanted to explore further from here, but were unsure if we would have enough time this trip. Another beautiful location :cD Although there was no water in the waterhole!! After a short climb, we soon had the cache in hand and a virgin logbook to sign :cD Thanks for bringing us here Arkaroo... TFTC and the adventure!!
