I had an opportunity to go to the South Island and take a week off work and do some caching while Mrs Yeetrees had to go to the ANZEG Conference 2018 which was being held in Nelson.

Day 7: Nelson to Blenheim. Today was he day that we decided that we would make our way to Blenheim and stay the night there before making our way to Picton on Saturday to catch the Ferry back home. We decided that we would pick up a few caches along the way if the chance allowed but we wouldn't get to carried away.

After finding GC5N1T0 - Lee's trees. Nos 3, 4 & 5 (Marlborough), this was the next cache that we had on our list to find, we made our way to this cache as we near GZ. Mrs Yeetrees parked close to GZ, and it was an easy walk from here.

Arriving at GZ, with my invisibility clock (HiVis) on, it was great as no one took any attention as to what I was doing. I checked the hint and soon realised where the cache was going to be, took a second to spot it and then I soon had it in hand.

Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks 1cat lover.nz for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13660). Replaced the cache back as found, now it is time to call it a day on caching and to go back to our accommodation and cook and have dinner.

We came over for the weekend to round up some mythical Hidden Creatures. With a successful trip down the Awatere Valley yesterday we had well and truly achieved our Hidden Creatures goal and made it passed the Dragon already. Today was a residential/town day which can take longer to navigate but we only needed 20 more to reach the World Turtle and we finished the day with almost double that. We could see that the cache was clearly missing so we replaced it with an un-camouflaged pill container and logbook. We hope you dont mind. Thanks for your effort in placing this cache for everyone elses enjoyment. Smile

Always galling when other say 'easy find' but I say 'humph!'

Poked around in places the the hint suggested, even foraged through the leaf-litter like an over-sized hedgehog, but nothing found.

#4345. I was over in Blenheim today for a meeting and allowed enough time after the meeting to pick up a few local caches before heading home. The weather was a stunning Marlborough winter day which always helps with cache hunting. I have done a fair few bus shelter caches over the past 3 years but I think seven in a day is a record. Also got to enjoy the delights of power boxes, bridge barrier magnetics and vineyard signs. All up a fun day scooping a bunch of fairly easy caches to boost the August tally. Thanks to the cache owners for making the time and effort to put these out for our caching pleasure. Quick find although had to walk past it at first as a series of muggles entered the footpath. Schools out I guess. Thanks 1cat lover.nz

06-Aug-17
The container was just sitting out on the footpath. I tucked it back around where it should be. All good.

I headed to Blenheim today in order to find a cache or two which had 10+_ favourite points in order to earn a new souvenir. After that mission was accomplished I had time to go and find a few more caches. No problems here. I found the cache in the second place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.

29-May-16
Our initial plan was to head to Golden Bay today but weather complications decided us against it so off to Blenheim once again.
After a DNF here 3 weeks ago and noting it had been found since, we returned to have another hunt. Our GPS still led us to the same spot but then we noticed something slightly out of place in another so a quick search turned up the cache.
Thank you 1catlover.nz.

29-May-16
After posting a DNF here recently, then a find logged it asked for a revisit. The TomTom got us at the other end of the alley this time but we reached GZ soon enough. Without the GPS I thought I start where I thought we looked before and take it from there. It was an instant find. Later I realised we searched a different spot on our first attempt and we just didn't widen the area enough. Thank you 1cat lover.nz

Out and about with Kiwimykl this afternoon adding a few local caches to my tally. KM has most of the ones targeted today which should have been to my advantage, however I didin't need his assistance for this QEF PnG as the cache was out in the open. After signing the log I made sure it was tucked back behind.

Find #490 for the BAMMJams - after Christmas lunch, we took the mini-BammJams to find a couple of caches on our way home -this one was close to Christmas lunch, so got our first smiley for the day. TFTC - somehow I came out without a single pen, so had to sign with a whiteboard market, whoops!!

We got this one right. If you approach this cache from the right direction you get all the guidance you need. TFTH Smile.

Another car pulled up directly behind us and when that happens you can't help wonder if they are here on a cache finding mission too . In this case they headed off in a different direction leaving us to the quick find. TFTC #7721

[green] Today I decided to cycle out to Seddon a find a couple of caches out there. Totally forgetting that I am on call and being an hour or two away from work is unacceptable. Anyway, I got the speed wobbles at 60k/h. Managed to slow to about 50 before I came off the bike. A passing Samaritan (although he probably was not a keeper of the Torah) stopped, scraped me off the road, turned around and drove back to Blenheim, dropping me and my bike at the hospital. No broken bones, but lots of skin missing, lots of inside on the outside. Helmut is in pieces, backpack is destroyed. And now I am covered in little white patches.
So anyway, I didn't get the caches I was after. Both legs still work, put one arm is temporarily out of action, so no driving or cycling. So I called DieselDebbie, and asked if she could help me out with today's requirements. Yes! Yay! So here we are, me with one arm in a sling. Nice easy find, thanks 1 cat lover! I love caches in these shortcuts! Big Grin

A Saturday trip into the Sounds for a day out and lucky old Kenepuru was the choice. Although nightowl19 hasn't been too well the last couple of days she should be O K for the trip. . . . . . . wrong. A bit of travel sickness from all those windy roads with twists and turns resulted in a stop for a clear out before we headed onwards. Not a massive caching day today but tuna sandwiches, cups of tea (of course) four cache and some new places visited, bargain.
Back in town now and dropped off nightowl with a friend to go to the fireworks tonight. Missed out on this one yesterday, was on aircraft marshalling duties so couldn't chase along with those boys
Q E F here, might benefit from a little move to the corner

{FTF} with GH6710 @ 11.46am. I had a couple of meetings followed by an important phone call this morning, so i could not monitor the incoming emails which I heard coming in on my mobile. Just as I was finishing the phone call GH6710 entered the office and asked if I could give him a lift into town so that he could pick up his geomobile which had its windscreen replaced... 'Oh, and there is a new cache on the way' he added. Not wanting to leave a fellow geocacher in the lurch, I was only too keen to help out.

Not having had time to check out the email i let him do the navigating and it was not long before we were approaching GZ. Exiting the car for a short walk up an alleyway, GH6710 bent down and picked up the cache which was almost in plain view. We signed th log and replaced it as found, however I'm not sure how long it will last, as it was pretty exposed. There are a couple of nearby hiding places that would not require a change in coordinates to effect, maybe one of these would be more suitable.

Noting the CO is a 'cat lover' and the cache is in an alley, does that make them an 'alley cat'?

As the cache is a micro, there was no room to drop off a TB.
