Tree felling has made for the death of this cache. Well, maybe it died before the tree went but either way, it longer exists.
I chose April to complete *sharkiefan's* **Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge**... that's 30 Mystery caches in 30 days. Close to getting there with 25 's, I came out today to finish it off with 5 more *Mystery finds*. As my stock of "solved Mystery caches" near home had run out I came over to Churchill National Park where I had a couple of puzzles solved and challenges completed.
After finding a couple of challenges over on the east side of the park, I wandered over here via North Boundary Track... stopping for one and two along the way. Unfortunately my string of continued here. I bashed my way round the scrub checking out "small trees" but came up empty handed.
I did find a "deceased small tree" that looked like it had come down some time in the eleven months since the cache was last found... I couldn't move it so there is a chance the cache is underneath it... either that or I was *cache blind*.

I don't do many puzzle caches, because I never know where to start in solving them -- but this was about my speed! I solved it quickly this morning, before heading out for the afternoon with team milljrh and abthings for my first dedicated caching session since lockdown. This was our second find of the day, once we figured out how to get through the hedge. (Team milljrh had solved it too.) Loved the themed container, and of course there was only one obvious spot for the log to be concealed. TFTC!
Had this worked out and ready to go, but you cant find it with the information sitting on the bench at home. So my attempt a couple of days ago was a failure lol.
I had an idea where it would be from my time previously exploring this area. But I was wrong and the cache was not where I was expecting. Anyway location entered into the GPS and off I went to GZ, cache located and signed.
Only issue was I was unable to make use of the TelecommuniCACHEions for communications. )
Thanks to The Rusty's for the cache

Out and about early on a sunny morning to add some more smileys at Churchill Park . I liked the container . Thanks The Rusty's.
This one has been in the solved pile for so long that I had to look at the cache page to see what the puzzle was. Now I remember! One of the few puzzles I was able to solve with not too much effort. I was out for an early evening caching walk and made the detour to this cache. Found easily enough. I remember getting one of these for the first time in our house! Log was a little damp but I was able to sign it. TFTC
Solved the puzzle a few days ago and made the find this morning. Luckily, I did not need to 'phone a friend'. In good condition.
I went out this morning to have a wander in Churchill Park, and pick up some caches. I had solved this a few days ago, so happy to log it. The wonders of "modern" technology! Thanks Rusty's.
Yep, found after having a bit of a search of the area. Interesting non-waterproof container here. I suppose it's a good excuse to pop by and replace the bag every now and again.
Day 23 of my travels. After leaving Tasmania and getting off the ferry this morning, it was another day tracking down a few target caches around Melbourne. Unfortunately I seem to have brought the Tasmanian weather with me and it was another day of intermittent showers and strong, cold winds.
This afternoon I spent the best part of 3 hours wandering around the Churchill National Park, enjoying the bush, spotting quite a few animals, finding a few caches and listening to the sounds of the nearby quarrying and rock crushing!
This was one of a number of caches that I identified as targets for this trip. It was a quick find.
Thanks The Rustys for the puzzle and the cache.

Took the deadly treadlie to Churchill Park and rode around a few caches.
A nice way to fill in the morning.
A nice puzzle and a well themed cache container.
Those cables are very close overhead near here.
Thanks, Robmc.

Came to the park today to pick up some challenge caches and the gadget caches. On route we realised this could be a quick solve as Viv had 4g.
A quick solve and find here and lots of kangaroos, don't get that in England!

I solved this cache so long ago I can't even remember, but I'm glad the app updates the coords to make life easy now.
Great cache, awesome container, thank you! A concerted family effort of puzzle-solving and cache-finding.
I recognized the puzzle idea immediately so the coordinates were quick at hand. Great cache container, the kids loved it.
Once again I find myself, as I have several times of late, walking around this part of Lysterfield. I do enjoy the walks through here but always seem to be here on a timeframe. This time there was no run into muggles and was easily found. It is a tough spot to find a way in to.
Thanks The Rustys for the cache.

Solved a fair while ago, just needed a day to pick it up on.
Well, today seemed like a nice day to visit the Eastern burbs, catch up with friends and do a bit of caching.
I took the long route in and the short route out.
I always wonder why your GPSr always does some mystic spiral into the cache and when you get there, there's always a quicker way out.
Hey, that cache looks exactly like one we have at home!

We were in the area with the primary goal of grabbing a cache that is about to be archived and was something a little bit special. So of course while here we thought we would try and make a dent in the area and add a few smileys to our map.
As a TelecommuniCACHEions technician by trade I was able to work out what was required to solve this mystery without any troubles solving this one at home before todays planned journey.
Thank you The Rusty'y for a well themed mystery

After a bit of stealth camping in the car park last night, and a trip to the closest servo to grab a couple of bits fort the bikes which were looking a little worse for wear after a couple of thousand Ks and much of it dirt hanging off the back of the van.
We finally set out on the bikes and this was the first cache of the day.
My thanks to The Rusty's for the puzzle and the hide

Needing a reasonable easy day because of a knee injury, a walk around Churchhill park with Simsfamily and Neville devil seemed like a good idea, but with many more ups and downs than expected I spent the day in pain, but It was well worth it with a variety of great caches.
We moved the car closer to this area to give my knee a little rest which didn't last long here.
Once the GPSr settled the cache hide was quickly located and the log.
As we were signing the log a walker went past totally oblivious to us a he sang out loud to his music for our amusement.
Log signed and replaced as found.

A nicely themed cache with very good co-ords - it's just that those nasty gorse bushes are starting to take over around here [B)]

I had dedicated the entire day to gathering the new Virtuals on the map, taking a road trip in an anticlockwise direction and enjoying the ferry ride between Queenscliff and Sorrento. On the northern run on this side of the bay however, I remember this solved puzzle was still on my unfound list, so took a detour to have a scout around. [^]
A short stroll to GZ, a approached from the wrong side and couldn't locate the container. Hmm... I decided to walk away and return, letting the GPS guide me in which worked a treat and I spotted a tell tale sign of cache camo as I made my rentry to GZ.
Log retreived from a most appropriate container, I added my name and returned as found.

Find #3718. Found @ 15:49 with The Good Lady Wife.
The plan for today was to get out of the house with The Good Lady Wife and grab as many caches that we could before she got tired of my obsession, or at least get as far away from the car as possible so that when she was sick of it, we still passed by some on the way back.
I'd solved this puzzle ages ago, and it has been sitting in my solved puzzle bucket for ages. Today was the day to collect as we were walking past. A nicely themed hide that was quickly found, and replaced as found.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache The Rustys

Enjoyed this cache! Due to some of my other hobbies was able to solve the puzzle quickly and then drove down to find this one and others in the park today! TFTC!
Ah so that is what you do with your old.... Can still here the barking! The logbook was full so I left some more paper. Should be good for 20-30 visits.
Perfect weather to be out and walking in this great park, although we made it even further by going in the wrong direction for awhile and then having to backtrack. Loved the very creative camo even if it maybe out of order:)
Thanks The Rusty’s for another great cache.

Now with less than 50 remaining for that silly hidden creatures thingo it is about time that I pick up a handful of caches before my uni classes begin today. Not a crazy long log but I am in a rush to finish this. Anyways thanks for the cache

Nice quick puzzle to solve, and nice easy find. This is my first time in this park, I parked in the wrong spot and had to negotiate a gate to get in! Loved the container, reminded me of a time not so long ago..... TFTC!
Solved this one someone... no idea when. Not too far from home on this nice sunny but cool day. Kids loved the hide.
Having walked through this park on so many occasions with the local scout group, today I was here grab a few caches. With so many puzzles solved and appearing as jigsaw piece on my map, today I will be converting this jigsaw piece into a smiley. Initially walked past this one but after some adjustment to my route I soon had this one found. Very fitting cache container. TNLNSL. TFTC. Kkams.
Had solved this one many moons ago, even got close to the final gz but had left he answers at home. last week I looked at it again and couldn't find the answer so resolved it (shouldn't have been hard I used to play with this stuff). Today was collection day. Log all signed like the camo. TFTC
An easy solve completed >1yr ago, got the chance to get out there and find it today. Had to battle the prickly bushes to get in there!
My family were away on a trip to New Zealand so I planned a few evening excursions to cache after work. Exhausting but great fun as I headed here straight from work in Frankston and tackled a bunch of caches in Churchill National Park that I hadn’t tried before. Knowing I was heading out this way I had managed to solve this puzzle without too much trouble and had the stored coordinates to try as I passed by. Took me a while to pinpoint the hide but then I spotted what had to be the cache and soon had the log in hand. My sixth fifth find of fifteen on a sunny evening in splendid isolation in this park. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache The Rustys.
I solved this a long time back and today took a stroll to GZ. Found after checking a couple of places. Thanks to The Rusty's for placing this cache.
Found it! I think we may have solved this back when the nessersary skill was the primary way of telecommunicating. I can vaguely remember dustling off an old boy scout handbook from 19 very long ago, but the actual solving is now lost in the dark and rather small corners of M's RAM (rarely applied memory).
So it was a pleasant surprise when, after grabbing the jittery bug nearby we saw that we were not to far from a long ago saved final waypoint from yet another Rusty's cache. We were quickly at our GZ and soon located the well themed hide, the location of the log was figured out without too much drama, and with our mark made we returned the handset to its home and set off...TFTC...

Great cache. Had been on the solved list for a while and it was in our tour of discovery for today while we were out caching this area of the park. Kids really enjoyed the container and tried to call for pizza. Seemed it was a bad connection because all we got was static. May have been the nearby powerlines.
A very long time ago I solved this cache and added the coordinates to my Google Map of solved puzzles. Now that the app handily provides these all mapped out, I was able to see that this gz was right smack bang where I was walking and I detoured off the path to knock another one off the list. A curious container, nobody on the other end, but I left a voicemail-to-text and will hope for a call back. TFTC The Rusty's
It's been a bit of Rustys day and here's one more that I've had on the solve list for a while. This is a nice location for a walk and of course for turning caches into smilies. Thanks to The Rusty's....oh and I like the cache container
What a cute cache I tried to get this a week ago. You laugh at me, but it was 8:30am and I couldn't figure out how to get into the park! I finally made my way today. TFTC The Rustys
Took no time at all to identify the required data and the problem was quickly solved. Finding the cache was also quick. Hmmm, this is not usual for me. Maybe its going to be a good day after all. TFTC
Our first find these school holidays. It was a nice easy puzzle which was great for the kids. Looking forward to what we hope to be a successful morning caching.
I solved this one a while back, and this was the last cache left for me in Churchill after getting three others on a circuit around the area. Bit sad to see them all smileys
It took a couple of minutes to find the cache itself, but the log was the first place I looked. Thanks for the cache.

Great cache. The kids loved this one...
Thanks for the walk. Now going to find "up there cazaly"

Found with TaylorHunters09 who had worked out the required info beforehand. We all had a giggle when we found this, thanks for the cache.
I had to visit my BBB cache for some maintenance, and so made an afternoon of it with a circuit walk around the park, finishing up at my cache. Before I left my car, I sat there decoding the information. I was going to then enter it into my GPS, when I discovered that they were the same as what I had. Ah hah, I thought, I've done a multi cache where the final co-ordinates are the same as the published co-ordinates.
The cache description didn't have the normal "the cache is not at these co-ordinates", so that confirmed my suspicions. It is only now that I am home that I realise that I had updated GSAK with the final co-ordinates, probably when it first came out a year and a half ago, and that's what was in my GPS. In the end, it didn't matter, and the cache was quickly located, as was the log.
Thanks again to The Rusty's for the cache.

Goes to show puzzles can be fun without being stupidly difficult.

The first find for the mystery cache run with nanton34. Once at gz we thought we might have had to phone a friend but this time it was not necessary as the clever container was spotted quite quickly. tftc
For eighthknox and I, our mystery month was going swimmingly except we were caught in an undertow and quickly running out of air, So after a few feeble attmpts to string togther a number of mysteries today was the day that would make or break our month. 42 solved puzzles were in my list although a couple were in LA and a couple in NY so they were going to be tough but with the time difference they may become a last resort. So without those there were about 30 that were within reach and more importantly we'd mapped out 15 that would take us through Rowville, Dandenong, Clayton and then along the bay before returning through Buwood. A successful run would see us conquer our Mystery month demons.
This was our first target for the day and at this stage we were energised and confident of having a win. I had solved this cache a long time ago infact I don't actually remember when but its on the list so off we headed and once at GZ the unique container was revealed a nice easy find to get us off to a good start. Thanks The Rustys

Thank you for a puzzle cache I could solve relatively easily. Some of them just do my head in!!! Nice little walk to the GZ and loved the cache itself. A new area for me to explore
We may or may not have changed our logging order to protect the location of gz.
We may or may not have used bribery to get the girls here.
We may or may not have let Miss E find this one.
I didn't stop to find a tree on the way out but others may have. I'll call you and let you know haha.
Thanks again, I think the sun is getting to me now

One of six caches found while out getting a few Christmas Day smilies.
This was the first find for the loop I'd organised. I like to get the uphill climb out of the way early in the walk.
It didn't take too long to get some coords from this puzzle, something I like. A nice cache container consistent with the theme.

On a warm yet windy day I decided to drag my bike over to Churchill National Park and complete the caches that are scattered around there. Although I had been there a couple of weeks ago to grab a cache that was close to the entrance I did not realise just how high and steep the paths can get.
I had solved the puzzle soon after it was published but only just got around to look for it. A quick find. TFTC.

Haven't been out caching for a while but had a free day with no work and a friend who wanted to get out and find some. Off we went and was it good to be back out. TFTC. Whoop whoop I finally got it. Had this one waiting for ages.
Bipbah the carrier pigeon started chirping in my ear.
He's a noisy little fellow, with a very limited repertoire, but his insistence does finally get to you, if you continue to listen to him. Passing through the new generation of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos with their incessant chattering, they seem to have a much more varied vocabulary indeed. Even Blacky the raven put in his two bob's worth, as we passed by, but the feed in the tree bark, way up there was much too delicious to warrant an early departure. Surely the twolegs will just go away! And they did.
Further along things took a turn for the better and all lines were opened. The subject of our labours presented itself, fully! And our presence was duly recorded. We returned but the feast was over, and the guests all gone. Silence had descended upon the parklands as we made our way back down the trail.
May I communicate my thank to you for your efforts here today. [^]

I solved this a few weeks ago here while the Mini Welders were searching for a Jitterbug. They voted for a quick exit (instead of picking up this cache) and nearly got bowled over by Skippy at the gate. So it was just a matter of time until i returned.
Well, with no Minis and time up my sleeve, it seemed a fine day for a stroll. Didn't see Skippy today. Maybe because the nearby dog kennel was in full cry.
The unusual thing about this journey was that it was rather uneventful - smooth sailing is not my standard operating style.
As I neared GZ, the geo-senses became heightened. This was another 'Rustys' cache, and i was beginning to note a few tell-tale themes from recent encounters. And this cache didn't let me down. The geo sense took me there via the easiest route possible (...for once!! Don't get me started on Finding Fantasia, lol).
Love the attention to detail in continuing the theme. Hahaha, it is very clever.
Thanks Rustys for a good puzzle and a cool cache. Thanks for bringing me back to this great Park again.
Really enjoyed it.

Straightforward puzzle - we parked nearby and had a short to GZ. The cache was a little obvious but certainly suited the theme - SL and replaced. TFTC

We're doing mystery month challenge this month. This was a relatively easy puzzle to solve, and dad & 12yo headed out after dark to turn ?'s into 's. We had grabbed another find a little earlier, and attempted to walk across the road and into the reserve for this cache. But we were defeated by the 10 foot chain mesh fence. Ahh well, back to the car for a drive around the park to find a gate.
From there, we had a simple walk to the GZ. Love the innovative container,we laughed when we saw it. 23/31 Mystery Month.

Got out of the house tonight for a stomp with TrailStevo. Under instructions not to be late home. My response was " well you better walk fast then". Walked about 6km in 2 1/2 hrs and picked up 11cache. Thanks for the evening escape Muzza, Rustys, Tonytoad and wow Paultheball, your caches were fantastic! I can only imagine how much effort went in, massive pat on the back, I wasn't expecting them. Lots of Roos out tonight, clear sky's and windy. Thanks for the fun, TFTC.
Great little walking track. Found with tassie expat and geoson draggedalong. Thanks for placing this series.
Last night we discovered that BIL had left something in our car. As we live at Phillip Island and he at Box Hill, it wasn't just a quick return drive. He offered to meet us half way. Checked the website...nope, geocached in that area. Hey, Lysterfield South looks good...too bad for him. So we met, gave him his lost items but couldn't convince him to come for the walk.
frmen1 and I had half of draggedalong join us (he Pokemoned at the same time).
I'm the puzzle solver in our house. Solved this last night when we'd decided to visit. A nice quick solve as it was something that I'm familiar with. Loved the cache container. TFTC

Night out caching with Gunks. Picked out a section to search and went for a hike. Tftc
I had fun solving the puzzle and wasn't too hard for me. When I saw the awesome cache container, it brought a smile to my face, thanks!
Both G' of GJMMelb and I had solved this puzzle some time ago but it was only today as we targeted puzzle caches to attempt a monthly challenge cache that we were in the area to pick it up. It was getting late in the day, and despite the wintery chill there were a few muggles about but not of any concern to us. G' spotted the cache (appropriately themed) after a brief search TFTC
Solved this without any problems some time ago. Today I went down this way with Quiet1_au. After a short search I saw the cache. Getting to the cache was another issue due to the prickles on a bush in the area. Eventually I was able to retrieve and log the cache. Nice themed cache. Thanks Rusty's

What a classic cache container! Initially had the coordinates all wrong after forgetting to update the GPS. Once all sorted found it quickly enough and really enjoyed the view on this fine day. Cheers!
This was a fun puzzle that I enjoyed seeing the answer appear before my eyes. Arriving at GZ today, before I commenced searching, I stopped to admire the view. I hadn't realised that I was this high at this point. A quick look and I spotted the great container, very apt indeed!
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

And so we went to the GZ for this puzzle - I had worked it out at home, and had great fun sounding out bips and bahs.
we came across a view - OH WOW! said the children, understandably, it was a good one. we went on to the GZ.
We went past some inexplicably complex TP art. Once again - they are classy out here in the country.
we got to the point and I had a chortle at the hide. Nice!
Back out onto the main track - I had a feeling I would be spending a LOT of time today fending off branches, spitting out bits of leaf and twig, and possibly on my backside having skidded on loose dry sandy soil... I collected a child on my trip. She wasn't impressed.

I had a very limited time to find a few caches in my 10km zone today before I needed to be in my garden clearing up my jungle. It was an overcast but fine day. I decided Churchill Park was an ideal spot to start. I started with a trio of Rusty caches.
I solved this one a little while back, so it was about time I came to find it. Found it without any problems, cute
**Thanks to The Rusty's for the cache. TNLN**

Tonight, I headed out with biggles1024 on our usual Friday night adventure but its been a while since the last one.
Our goal was to find some nominated caches for the awards and other interesting caches along the way.
We had this one worked out a while ago, but we had not been in the area to find it so we made the most of it and found all 3 in the area while we were here.
We arrived at GZ but the GPSr was having a bit of trouble at this one, eventually I spotted what we needed and it happened to be the same as the one I have at home.
**Thanks to The Rusty's for placing this cache.**

Find #2413
Today Steve and I headed out for first Friday night run of the year. One particular night cache was our main goal but we also grabbed a number of other interesting caches along the way. When this cache was first published, I quickly put it in the 'too hard' basket. A couple of days later, I took another look and kicked myself. It was actually quite an easy puzzle. It took until tonight for us to be in the area and it took a bit of searching to locate which wasn't surprising given the close proximity to some high tension power lines.
Thank-you to The Rusty's for placing this geocache

Solved this nice little puzzle when it first came out. Then added to the "solved to be picked up" pile.
With their new purchases, Team Smokey-Bear joined 88andy88 and I in a bike ride around this side of the mountain.
Thanks The Rusty's.

In preparation for visit to Churchill National Park to help with some maintenance for CO, I noticed this puzzle cache here. I'm usually very bad at solving puzzles but nevertheless sat down and tried to make sense of the puzzle. Had a few ideas and explored a few options but the first few attempts proved fruitless. However a closer examination of the phrase revealed a pattern that quickly led to a UH HAAAA moment.
Google was a good friend and I soon had the coordinates revealed. So delighted to have solved this one. So after finding the Jitterbug cache, continued down the trail following my GPSr to the calculated GZ. Oh enjoyed the cache container. How thematically appropriate. Loved it... I still have one of those!
TFTC The Rusty's!

We found this cache today at 11:40am as number 2 of 5 on out nothing but Rusty's Sunday Lunchtime Cache Hunt. After the last find, this one was now our second closest unfound cache to home. Solved a while back and picked up today. The only unfortunate thing was the new cache that appeared just a little further along the same track that I didn't know about. Thanks from D, HA, H & A B-A.
