we were not very hopeful after reading the previous logs and after 20 minutes we gave up. Time for checking this cache?

DNF
This week I'm on some sort of a weird DNF streak, this is the 6th day in row I've had one (or more!).
Had a good look in different Terrain combinations here, found a couple of good places that suited the hint but all empty.

08-Jan-18
Tried this back on 10 November but didn't log the DNF as I'd texted a previous finder and was awaiting a reply. Sadly his reply just suggested what I'd tried already. Came back today for another crack but still no joy. The obvious spots that fit the hint appear empty and GPSr won't settle under the trees.

Beautiful day to be out and about in Redcliffs. We'd never been in to this park before. A great thing about geocaching is that it takes you to new places in your own backyard. The find was relatively quick with a helpful hint and coordinates. Left travel bug. It flew all the way to Samoa, before coming back to New Zealand and heading to Christchurch. TFTC.

Took a silly approach and turned this into a T3 or 4. What was I thinking! Despite the hurdles I put myself through it wasn't a hard find. Thanks for placing.

14-Apr-17
Slippery after Cyclone Cook and my friends daughter feel over while search in the mud. Tftc

14-Apr-17
Muddy and messy slipp'n and slide'n and some great reflexes and clothes that absolutely have to go into the washing machine..

Stopped just to get the geocache today, but we have been here hiking plenty of times. Today we hiked Godley Head. Easily found. Thank you for placing this cache.

30-Nov-16
We turned what should have been a straightforward T2 into a difficult T4.5! After making the find we found the easy route back out of the shrubbery! TFTC.

Easy find

Busy Paws and I had some confusion as to where this cache was. We went up the trail that you can see from the car park but discovered this was wrong and just went up and up and up. So taking a second look we were scrambling around in bush about 25 metres from the cache, long story short the coordinates are out and I had several experiences up there where I nearly fell or just got lost. I was extremely careful and generally followed the GPS but it just lead me further and further up into dangerously inclined bush. Word of warning to other caches, just listen to the GPS to get you into the general area or you may find yourself in a spot of trouble as I did, don't go too far up. Eventually after lots of yelling back and forth between Busy Paws (who was on relatively flat land) and I the cache was found a few metres out.
TFTC!

There's an easy way and several hard ways to get to this cache, Geo Jessie and I covered most of them! However, after some spectacular heels slides and much animated communication, I was so glad to say "got it" TFTC .Cool

Traffic rather hectic on the roads so was nice to have a wander through the park. Cache GZ and the cache soon located and with nobody any where near was able to grab quickly. Would have been a nice quick find if I had not headed up the hill thinking the road was beside the park before finding the actual park entrance.

28-Aug-16
I went on a walk with JDSCOUT. We ended up doing the whole circuit, it was such a beautiful day.

28-Aug-16
Found on a walk with my wife.

13-Aug-16
Muddy and wet today! But soon found and signed

24-Jul-16
Parked up nearby, then started walking up the track that's visible from the car park, thinking it would lead me in the direction on the cache. But quickly found out it was going up instead of across... doubled back to walk along the grass and arrived near the cache and found it soon after. Took TB. TFTC (3083)

#12703. After completing the hilly part of the BPW, it was good to finish with a stroll across the flat part of the park (though getting to GZ did involve a very short ascent). TFTC.

After a bit of a chilly start, the temperatures climbed until it seemed almost spring like weather, especially out of the wind. We hadn't been to the Redcliffs / Sumner area since last year so we took advantage of the good weather to head there to clean up some caches in the area - with mixed results.
This cache had been placed since our last visit to the area, so after a walk up the valley, we made the short detour to it. Murphy's Law dictated that my GPSr batteries died 20m away from GZ, so I followed StreetWalker the last dozen or so steps to the cache, which he found. Left an owl TB. TFTC.

7351. Rodney wanted to call in at the local preschool to check on some painting he had done at the weekend. Afterwards he went for a walk up the park and found this cache after a short search. Very sunny out on the sports field, very shady and cold up against the hill. Rodney spotted another geocacher walking in as he walked out. Had a short chat with karma reprint afterwards. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.

Wandered up to GZ and passed by a guy who sort of looked familiar coming back down the fields. Made the find and headed back to the car and stopped and had a chat with Rodney from the Sallies. So you he was familiar. A quick find ta.

A lovely Queens Birthday Monday holiday, so a lovely afternoon for caching!

Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Haven't done a lot of caching in the last wee while. TG and I headed out for a Mad Monday Mission and stayed close by. We did a bit of a loop via town, Heathcote, Sumner, Avonhead, Uni and then home. I scored a few tonight and TG grabbed a smattering. Had a great night out. The evening started out cloudy and ended up being clear and a bit nippy out. Oh, I feel the winter is coming. Good to grab the town caches at night as the muggle factor was low, also good for the Uni. Good fun.

Thanks for the cache MadCat9.

Ah, good old Barnett Park. Brings back memories. I placed my very first cache in the upper part of this park almost exactly 14 years ago - 17 December 2001, GC2CE8. Thanks for the cache.

Out and about in the mid afternoons sunshine. Had the park to myself so easy enough to narrow down gz and make the find and sign. Nice wee spot. Cheers.

A warm afternoon and the right place to be. As we left the foliage chuckling we surprised a dog owner. Wonder what he thought of a couple of oldies emerging from the bushes!!! Plenty of dogs and Frisbees.
That road in hasn't improved though. Thank you.

Had already had one FTF this morning so attempted to do this one with Renelm. Kept going the wrong way due to road-works but got there eventually. Went in the wrong way and fell down a few times but that was all part of the fun. Renelm found it and was FTF - I was second and I am happy with that! Thank you for the excellent placement!
