Cache is placed where my wife's family used to farm until 1981. They owned the land on all sides of the intersection. They are descended from the pioneers of the area the land being tussock when they arrived from England in the 1860s.
The water table is at ground level today!! Very wet underfoot, large puddles. I managed to find my way through to the GZ and log the cache without getting too wry and muddy. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
After finishing up my work commitments out beyond Dunsandel, I had a few hours to spare before I had to head to the airport and home. I went off to find a few caches. Found this one in the second place I looked. TFTC, Biggles.
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!
Got some cheap flights a few weeks ago so the plan was to come down for a big run in Ashburton to achieve the 120 in one day and get the gemstone. OMG! We started at the crack of dawn and finished in the dark. Foggy and cool but cleared by lunchtime. It should have been achieved much quicker. We had not really planned a route and detoured a bit. Some of this backfired as we ended up on some long gravel roads that had missing caches and was most disappointing. We got stuck for about an hour on a multi I specially wanted for qualifying for another cache which was frustrating. However, we made it - with a few to spare I believe - but are totally shattered. Too many to log individually so are doing the copy and paste. Many thanks to all who placed caches. What beautiful countryside and we love the fact we could pull over and park safely. Not keen on the many prickly pine trees so many were hidden under. The breeze only got up in the afternoon and it was a lovely warm breeze - not like Manawatu freezing winds even at this time of the year. More traffic on the roads than we expected and they fair motor along. Many thanks for the caches. It has made the whole trip worthwhile.
A bit out of the way but we got it.

A nice quick find here. The top of the bag was ripped off and nowhere to be seen so we replaced it for you. We were then too busy removing the biddies and bits of gorse from our shoes to notice the colour of the track. Thanks for the cache
Had to find this one while I was in the area as it would annoy me if I didn't. Made a quick find after a local farmer stopped to make sure I hadn't broken down. Great cache Thanks for bringing me out here. TFTC
Found while enjoying a pleasant day collecting a few local caches in an area I hadn't been to before. *TFTC Tufty, #8941*
First day of our South Island trip and had a great time touring the area and collecting caches taking us to some remote locations with tmann421.

I did a circuit around the block, after the dry weather lately everything's pretty much the colour of dust including my rental car. TFTC
Good Friday - an excellent time for a caching adventure - Purdiepurdie, peter 007 & I set out with Smurfs in mind, and it would have been rude not to stop at a few other caches on the way.
It was a great day - including not 1 but 2 picnics (well it was hard work!) - with purdiepurdie's great supply of hot drinks..... Our 2nd picnic site was the lovely Greendale Domain (can highly recommend the toilets!) where Tufty has kindly placed another cache.
Thanks, also, for this cache, Tufty.
We signed the logs as P2K.

TFTC. Easter Friday was the day for a caching adventure with KotukuSI and Peter007. We planned a civilised jaunt to gather up a few smurfs and anything else that took our fancy.
Great fun and lots of laughs were had as we went this way and that treasure hunting.
We signed the logs p2k.
Thanks Tufty for placing the cache.

Out Smurf hunting with experienced geocachers Purdiepurdie and KotukuSI. Had a great day and learnt lots. Signed logs P2K. TFTC.
It would have been a little rude not to go seek this as I headed home from Hororata. I was so intent on watching my transition from sealed to gravel roading that I didn't notice untill afterwards that I had sped right past the cache. Ooops! [B)] A quick braking followed by a 180 soon had me parked just 2m from GZ for a quick find. Cheers Bro.
Got a few hours to kill before kiwi nomads event so knocking off a few more caches nice quick find tftc
Last one for today beetling around the area, while introducing our new Westie Puppy to Geocaching..The first long trip for her in the Toyota, and she loved it..Thank-You for bringing us out here.

Another day, another random drive to cache. We set off after lunch to find a few in the wider area, to see how far we get and what we can fit into an afternoon/evening. The weather was perfect - drizzle the whole day, turning into rain at times, meaning a general paucity of muggles A huge thanks to all CO's for their hides!!!
Out on a Monday Night Mission with TG. We attempted an Alpine assult on a new puzzle but were foiled by wind and rain!!! We headed out to Rakaia for a FTF attempt and rounded up the night with some smurfs. We were rained on, saw a spectacular sunset. Drove down some 'no exit' roads to find an exit and had a great old time.
Thanks for the cache.

Our Mushroom Compost making facility is on Coaltrack road but not this far up. Nice easy find for this one on a short detour from chasing down the little blue people. The ones that must have escaped from our mushrooms maybe.
It was 28 degrees outside and I had no work today. I decided to go on a country drive with the air-conditioning on full blast.
What a pretty side road. I wonder which way I will go next? Probably to one of your other hides.

A quick stop and find on the way to the foothills. Thanks
A quick find on a Sunday afternoon drive. A fine day, though a little windy.
