Out in the PeuGEOt in the Clunes/Dunolly area for some caches. All is good with the cache and a quick find.TFTC
Doing the rounds of the local caches after the event this morning. Container is in good condition. Left a pathtag. TFTC
Tftc. Always great when cache hunting brings you to an interesting little spot that you wouldn't ordinarily visit.
I arrived on the big island a few days ago with the main intention of attending the Cache Crawl next weekend. Today as I am staying in the vicinity of Ballarat I decided to head to Clunes to get caches there.I arrived at GZ where a quick find of a cache in good condition was made.
Walked to this one later in the pm after a fairly busy day around town with AdLabs, a couple of mongrel multis, and some traditionals. Nice to read some more of the history, and follow the creek walk back to base. Appreciated the work being done on rehabilitation and interpretation here as well. TFTC.
The noise of 80 stampers must have been horrendous!Read the information and spotted the cache. Thanks, Robmc.
Australia Day 2024. Lovely weather. Good company (muggle Mrs. Screamer). I parked at the display then checked the phone app. Hmmm. Eleven meters away, hey? Scanned the area. Where would I hide a small geocache about eleven metres away? Aha! I took a few steps and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for bringing us here today GemmaSistema. SL TN L a short pencil. Attended to the newly acquired bleeding scratch on the back of my hand.
Some interesting history here today, the cache was easily found thanks to the hint This week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
Quick find here. The cache was right there.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos ktkst. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas. We are on our way to Ballarat after a day caching near Beaufort and this was a late afternoon detour to Clunes for a few a caches. It was all quiet near GZ and the cache was found quickly. Thanks to GemmaSistema for the cache.
Found at 2.30pm. After a walk around town completing 2 Lab caches we walked past this one.An easy find. Not much left of the mine now except for the mullock heap.ThanksK&M
What an interesting town. So full of history and incredible gold mining information. TFTC GemmaSistema
Found it today on a mid week caching day, with beautiful spring sunshine. Thanks for the cache.
Found pretty quickly although the grass is rather tall so looked quite gingerly. TFTC
The tall grass in the vicinity of GZ meant that it was a brief hunt before the cache was located despite accurate coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
No gold today unless you count a cache! Interesting place to stop and take in the history and see where the mining took place. Although we are just doing a stop and grab and onto the next town - here really to fill our LGA. Cache in good condition.
I came to explore the area and read the sign and thought to myself what a good spot for a cache so I opened my app and sure enough! Thanks for placing this cache
Taking my gran out for lunch in Clunes and she decided that we should find some together!
An afternoon trip with my wife to have a look around Clunes. Stopped off for this one while on the trail of the AL. Had a read of the nearby info board and then headed towards GZ and soon had the cache in hand. Log signed, and then off for another.
Thanks for another one GemmaSistema.

Heading to Ballarat area for the day & the community event tonight but couldn't resist a quick stop. I used to come to Widow Twankey's Sweetie Shop regularly but alas, it is no more so I need to source my UK sweeties elsewhere. Shame really because I like Clunes. Many thanks ?? ??????????????????
Willaura to Talboc
The weather today was torrential rain, so we have decided to camp tonight at the sports ground.
We needed power as the sola has not been getting enough sun.
A drive up to Maryborough to do some shopping & caching in the morning. The afternoon we drove to Clunes to do the AL & any other caches we past.
This was a great way to tour this area.

With a Community Celebration relocated from the big hill to this historic town, of course I took an Adventure Lab tour. Or two.
And my wandering led to this extra bonus cheeky smiley.
Thanks, GemmaSistema.

I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Afterwards, I explored Clunes doing the adventure labs and other caches. Cache easily found. TFTC.

After a huge day on Mt Beckworth, catnap777 and I crawled back to our camp in Clunes, freshened up snd hit the town for every cache and adlab we could get our greedy mits on.
We did leave the older multi in town for the next day though so we could actually see in daylight all the points of interest that the rest were taking us to.
This really is a beaut little town with lots to offer..... except street lighting.
TFTC GemmaSistema.
Found under torchlight.

We had been visiting my mum for her 90th birthday and sadly we had to head back to Tassie today but we had some spare time to do a couple of caches on our way to Melbourne before catching the SOT.
Had been in this area once before but don’t mind returning.

While staying in Ballarat we decided to take a drive up to Clunes to find some caches along the way, as well as the ones in town and also do the adventure labs based around the history of Clunes. Had a lovely few hours enjoying the area and learning about its past. Thanks to the COs for the caches/ALs.
We did a day trip from where we were camped in Talbot to Clunes. Naturally caching was on the agenda and this was one of the ones I found.
