Logs
Container was out in the open with lid off and log in the grass, recovered and restored the hiding place.
TFTC - doing a scout night walk and decided to quickly check the app and wahoo 256m away!! All the other scouts were like what are youuuuu guys doing!
Found with my girlfriend, her first geocache ever! She found the pole, I found the cache. Great beginners geocache, but still a rewarding challenge. Some cute trinkets too!
High muggle area on an anniversary weekend Monday, but managed to spot the hint item as the grass had recently been cut.
Council contractors have been and weed eated the area so the post was easy to find and then cache was found. TFGC and thanks for bringing me here. Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi after being unsuccessful yesterday due to various road closures on our travels. A great way to spend another sunny summers day.
**Sorry for the late log. I just recently noticed I'd forgotten to properly log some of the caches found on this day. I'd made a draft log in c:geo so it showed up on my map as an orange smile not a yellow one.**I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Monday I spent relaxing with my family down here. Tuesday's focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and St John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Today we're going to geocache around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Thursday we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields. Friday I was alone and walked the cycle trail between Waterview and Te Atatu.Today Yvettetb and I parked at the Arataki visitors Centre and had some nice walks in the forest doing the Adlabs as well as the trads. I was starting to run low on energy after all the walking we'd done today so the idea of steps for our return journey seemed a bit daunting. Turned out it wasn't too bad as most of the trail was fairly flat. This was our last cache before turning back. I was surprised to see cars parked here and a real road. My tired legs wondered if we should have driven here but we'd have missed the caches and Adlabs along the way. We had no trouble finding your cache due to the recent weedeater visit. Thanks for your cache to encourage me to keep going along this track
A tricky find. Read one of the finders clues.Look for a concrete post along the side of the road in undergrowth. Got it out without any prickles. Bring swappables - I dont have any. Great place to stop and enjoy the view. TFTC
Tftc! The hint was a big help. A bit spiky to get at, but I found a helpful stick. Little bit wet inside but everything was okay.
Cripes this was tricky to find! Another cache today that finding it, i got lucky. A lot of cars around but no people. I didnt really have any idea where to start looking & by pure luck, the very first place i looked i saw the hint! Easy after that. TFTC
Nervous of going off paste with so many slips in the area. Couldn't spy the hint item easily so flagged it for another day
A little overgrown, but the cache lies right on the marker. Look for a concrete post on its side just off the side of the road.
Out with Co so cache found easily, signed log and replaced into Hidey hole Thanks for the nice view point for the day.
During our 3 week vacation in NZ we found our way Here.
Took some time before I found the right Pole.

Out in the Waitakeres for a nice walk today, no plans for where I was going, just wandering until I felt like I'd gone far enough. I started at Titirangi, came out along the Pipeline walk for the Ad Lab, then continued past here as far as GC4MAVB and then all the way back again. (No tracklog, sorry - it would give away the location of two mystery caches.)
The Pipeline Ad Lab brought me here and after sitting at Mackies Rest to figure out where the bonus was, I headed over to this one to look at the view and make the find. It didn't take too long and is all in fine condition.
Thanks Gorby!

Took a while hint not so useful required looking deeper into the listing and had to resort to the comments.
Was in the area to celebrate Keylev's completion on the dot day grid. Decided to have a walk around the area to collect the caches nearby.
This was a tricky one as a horde of us was searching high and low, literally! Once of us found it eventually close to the original spot.

Another cache on our Keylev lap of honour. After a quick find here and a chat about uvulas, we made the decision to do the bulk of the pipeline AdLab, adding probably an hour to our outing, but well worth it. Dziękuję for the Polish cache!
Had to detour away due to the mass muggle gathering, grabbed another cache close by before finding this one. TFTC
Busy place today! Took a couple of passes before MisterAnthony saw his chance and rushed off for the retrieval! Great look out spot! TFTC
Out in the Waitakeres in the company of Team Welsh today, doing the Arataki and Pipeline Ad Labs and any other caches we came across.
Got to the end of the Pipeline track, completed the Ad Lab, and then noticed there was a Trad here too. A quick find after that, thanks. And now to walk the 3 kms back again . . .

Got to the final wp of the lab cache and this cache wasn't too far away so we made sure to find it. Amazing views from up here and a spot well worthy of a cache. Thanks
A nice place to sit and view the dam. Started by checking out the wrong hint item but soon realised this and found the cache
A nice quick find, last for the day. Now to wander back to the car. Thanks for placing your cache.
I'm in Auckland and I am exploring the region while I am based here. Today was a bit damp, so stayed close to home. Some heavy down pours and it was a little cold too. I still had a great time.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Out exploring a new track today with the geo-dog and friends.
Don’t follow your eyes and get distracted by the wrong pole as there is only dog waste there…oops not ours! Found the right pole when following the GPS and was then a quick find.
Thanks for the cache. Found with laval, Ruth’s Team and the dogs.

Had a good walk this morning - got confused by the other poles at Mackie's Rest before eventually finding the correct one thank the GPS for bringing me to the correct spot!
After going for a walk to the falls in Huia we decided do another walk here. Awesome view up here. Gets quite busy up here. Had wait to make find. Tftc.
A little treat at the end of the track. Actually came here to get enough cell reception to get a pinpoint on the monkey tunnel. Once more into the fray!
After completing the nearby pipeline Adventure Lab we noticed this cache was here, as well as a few more along the Beveridge track, so we decided to extend our walk.
The area near GZ was very busy with cars coming and going as well as muggles sorting out their dogs, preparing themselves for walking, resting after walks they had just completed and just general faffing around so stealth was important.
We saw the pole which has now somewhat distanced itself from the view and stopped beside it to pretend we needed something from our bags.
We had a good idea of where the cache was most likely to be so subtly felt for it and were very pleased to find we were correct.
After signing the log the need for stealth had completely diminished because as if by magic all the muggles had left and the area was completely deserted.
After returning the cache to its hiding spot we admired the view and let the pole know what it was missing.

Walked the Ad lab trail and vowed to only find the real caches once that was complete. As this was the far end of my walk today it was time to cache in the treasure. Took a few minutes to spot the host post, I was expecting a twin for the Desert Road version of this cache name. All good here though a local expressed his concern as I'd left my glasses and water bottle on the bench whilst I headed to GZ. All good mate.
New year has been and gone and the temperature has cranked big-style with late-20s for the last several days. After being away for the main holidays the caching has been fairly sparse but with mrs c back to work today it gives me a week before I head back myself to the home office and prep for moving South. Thanks to all COs for their caches today.
Todays efforts were centred around Tititangi and the pipeline trail but also a few other targets as I passed by to/from. Even found my last 'local' Wherigo which takes me to 25 of this (fairly) rare cache type and a 'badge upgrade' on Project GC.

Can hardly see the pole these days, it's almost laying horizontal in lots of foliage, area has changed somewhat since I placed the cache. But paper all good, didn't need to change it.
Bike riding, no pen, found the cache in plain sight, unhidden. Seems the post is fallen over and Council may fix it one day, but not soon. I've left it as is but under the post as hide. Tftc
After completing the Adaventure Lab along Exhibition Drive / pipeline I noticed that this cache was close by. I searched all the objects related to the cache name within a reasonable radius of where I zero'd out with no success. Hmm. I sat to ponder what to do next and saw something a little suspicious. I suspect that something has been removed. The cache was quite well covered but in a now vulnerable spot. I replaced it an arms length away in a location that fits the bill and should be fairly safe and secure. TFTC, Biggles.
Searched at the lean and all around between gorse and runners but couldn’t locate. Area freshly mowed by council so perhaps they removed or dislodged. Will keep searching...
Tried to cover it, but it's in a pretty obvious location. Cache was in overall good condition, but could do with paint touch-up on outside... Still, nice to find
I must admit, I got distracted by what is dominant at first but trusting the coordinates led me to some more likely locations and eventually the cache was located. Even managed to nab this one in between the early evening runners and walkers which I thought might be more problematic. My lucky day I guess! TFTC!!
Passes by here late last night, all good here, well hidden though. The post moves around with age and gravity.
Hard to find, but we found it, good one to bike and walk to. Not the pole we thought. The trick is in the leaning.
Found with my buddies Charlie and jaya. Whooo thanks guys I’ve been after this one for while. That’s to the photo clue.
Team work with CyclicalCaching after visiting Adventure Lab in Arataki.
Easy hide as per GZ bang on. Nice view from here indeed!

Great hide Gorby We turned up to the GZ and there were a lot of muggles there chatting, so we hang around by Mackies Seat for a drink and a rest. Not long after that they all packed into their cars and took off allowing us to quickly find the cache, sign, and re-hide. Thanks for getting us outside today. TFTC
Out for a walk with some family. Cachelet #3 and I got to the carpark earlier and wondered if there was a cache. Oh course there was. We found it and had to wait for a pen. We found one by the Monkey Pipe but it isn't on the map. Must be archived. Anyone remember the name please? Ah found it after I got home it was only Disabled (stooopid phone app).
Thanks for the cache Gorbygorbachov

Met up with TheWonderStuff this morning to go caching out West and add a few more gemstones to our collections and try and unlock the vault. Arrived near GZ to some muggles cleaning their boots coming out of the trail. While they were distracted we searched for the cache. Didn't notice the Pole to start with as it isn't quite enjoying the view as much.
Great hide at the end of a bike ride. Thanks will return tomorrow to sign log as pen lost on ride out!
All good here, but the people! All trying to park on top of each other! Walk... you lazy mongrels.
The post is leaning over even more since my last visit! That's good, it hides the cache better.

Still don’t have a pen, second cach found on the first evening of day light savings.
Second Cach we have ever found

Came by to check up on my cache. Boy hasn't the growth around the pole gotten out of hand! I almost had trouble finding it myself. Replaced the paper with new water proof stuff, all good to go!
