Day 283 - Today was the day after the night before that being the mega is over and a new day begins with a vision toward another event to put on the callender this was a great day however the best laid plans went to hell as there was an accident along the road we intended to cache today so only a lazy day to get ready for the return trip home.
Arrived at the next GZ along the road to the camp and another nice quick find event with the geotrail showing the way it was an easy find and the log signed and returned to the location it was retrieved from.
Thanks for another in the series Wilbert67

Found by Mary and David at 11:42 in company with Alansee. Finishing off the nearby caches after the last of the OZGeomuster activities. Our thanks to Wilbert67.
We had an enjoyable morning finding the caches along this road, after leaving the Mega. All of the caches were found pretty easily, with some taking a little longer because our GPS was a bit unreliable. Thanks for placing these caches - it was great to have a little trail to do on our way out. TFTC!
OCW Shoes Jnr and Little Shoes, on our way home from the Mega. Logged as The Shoesx3. TFTC
Attempted this one today but didn't find it. I think tomorrow is another caching day so I will be back I think.
While attending the OzGeomuster Mega Event, we took some time out from catching up with many of our friends and socialising to find a cache or two.
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you Wilbert67 for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Greetings from 1st Wendouree Scout Group.
Thanks Wilbert67 for placing this geocaches 7219 find for me. CITO was first on the list after listening to Cully's talk. The next plan was to find our final GEO art, followed by the dam lab cache. Anything in-between was a bonus.
The time has finally arrived for a massive Australian road trip with The Kiwi Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

The GeoFamily and I are off to the Gong for the OzGeoMuster. We got up at sparrow flatulence, and set off in the dark. Mrs Mister JD uses Mister JD with me, but the kids have their own ids, AM_MMJD and Su_MMJD. Dawn didn't appear before Goulburn. We ate at the dreaded Maccas, and on we went to event GZ and about 8:30, where we met our geocaching friends. Hugs, chats, milling about. Then off for a day of geocaching with our mates. Day 1, we collected four and had a great day. Day two saw us with 12 caches and a lot of fun. Today, we've arranged to meet up with our mates at the fmega event site for lab caches and to do th Jamboree series. We got 15 lab caches logged, with the battle of the labs all solved but unlogged because the app didn;t want to play. No worries, we had the fun. The kids loved all the labs except the zombies. We elected to start at the dam end for the Jamboree series. We fond all of them, even the disabled one.
I'm sorry about the generic logs. The lurgy has got me.
Now they know that the arrow turns with the GPS, and to follow the initial direction not the new one until the arrow jumps again.
Find no 9 of 17 today.
Thanks, Wilbert67

The last day of the OzGeomuster Mega – time to pick up the last few round the area and on our way home after attending the last Cully Long’s Puzzling seminar. The view from Mt Keira was stunning. On the way home we made a few stops to pick up caches and adventure labs. Unfortunately my phone was not playing fair and I will need a return trip to do one of the labs – silver lining in that I get to visit the New Sheffield again and pick up more caches. Big thank you to StrangeTrousers for all the driving and mtrax for the great company plus all the other geobuddies new and old for a fabulous weekend.

Day four of the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Caching with mtrax and CBRChic and various others. We started with Cully Long's Advanced Puzzling seminar and then headed out to grab some more of the series down at the Cataract Dam. Then it was off to Mt Keira to grab the last of the Wollongong tour Adventure lab. Fantastic views at Mt Keira. Then we had to dead back to Canberra with a plan to stop off at Mittagong for lunch and the New Sheffield adventure lab which we managed to knock off pretty quickly. Our schedule allowed us to grab a few caches on the way back.
Thanks Wilbert67

On the last day of the Mega I decided to finish off this series near the base camp.
I had done about half of these yesterday, and late this afternoon finished the balance.
Drove towards the dam and started off from that end.
This is the only one that I struggled with. My GPSr had me looking about 8m away, and at one stage I was even searching on the other side of the road.
TFTC from Pacman.

Here for the MEGA, to see a buddy in the Gong and of course running around(biking in my case) to pick up this series. All well placed and generally easy to find as that tell tale geo trail beckoned the cacher! Pretty fun watching everyone peering at devices, muttering and having a great time. TFTC
OCW MaxAdventurer and Everest High and Boogierogue. Doing the power trail by the Oz Mega. Tftc
Tried this one last night by torch light but had no luck. Probably walked past it twice! Today cache was located and logbook signed. We are loving the bushland around here. TFTC

Night walk during the mega! Lovely evening for it, flying solo. I need to get my find count up so I can log the mega as #5,000 and this series was going to be very helpful in that regard!
This morning was all about the numbers! Normally I’d just go for a bunch of favorited caches or ones with a bit of adventure about them, but it’s a Mega so a haul of smileys had to happen.
The plan was to do as many as I could before attending the flash mob in Wollongong at 11. I focused on as many as I could from the GeoArt as they were taking me in the right direction.
Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches for us all to find. ????

Ju and I headed back to Cataract Park from the flash-mob and started on this series, before she had to be back on-site to sing. As a Scout and now a Scout Leader (and Ju being a Rover and now a Leader as well) it is great to see this series, and another easy find - TFTC
After a long day of caching in Canberra, I and burgo went for these traditional caches too.
Easy enough to find in the dark, there has been a lot of cachers here in the last couple of days.
Attended the world scout jamboree here in 1988!
Thank you for this cache in a series

Day two of my Geomuster Mega weekend. After breakfast Quiz and Reviewer Talk, caught up with friends and headed out to get to the lighthouse for the Flashmob. We then went for caches on the way. Went with dghoffy to find the physical logs and signed as TTT (Trans Tasmin Team).
Unfortunately we did so many in the one day I haven’t done individual logs for all of the caches but know they were all in good condition. Thank you for putting these out, made for a fun day.

Back on this trail between events on day two of the nearby Mega. I couldn’t spot this in the shadows last night and some previous logs were making me suspect that the coordinates were off. They were in fact spot on even with a phone.
I departed Seattle on Tuesday evening to begin an eight day adventure in both Australia and New Zealand. I flew to Los Angeles and then on to Sydney landing early on Thursday morning. I am here for the OZGeomuster 2019 "The Gong" Mega event down in Wollongong as a Lackey geocaching ambassador. I will be spending the next four and a half days down in the Wollongong area, geocaching with a lot of the locals. Then I will return to Sydney and fly over "the Ditch" to Wellington where I will spend two days before returning to Sydney for the long flight back to the "States" and finally home to Seattle.
Day four of my eight day adventure and today is kind of a chill day which started out by attending the Flash Mob event where we all wore Signal Masks. Then we went and found Dark Side of the Moon which is an awesome oldie. After spending some time at the Mega event site and getting some food for dinner, I talked Marcus Vitruvious in to going out to find the newly published multi night cache. So we loaded up into his geomobile and headed out to the starting point. After finding the new Multi night cache we decided to continue and find some more of the caches along this road. This was a quick and easy find in the dark, we signed the log and then replaced the cache before starting back to our vehicles. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for use to find.

Thanks,
It's MEGA weekend, this time up in The 'Gong.
I joined the usual suspects, Aquilus1, dty73 and Tankengine for a few days of merriment, labs, geoart and a few select oldies and cool D/T. I was unfortunately a little late to the party only arriving after lunchtime on Saturday, but everyone was so happy to see me and had had an absolute ball doing the lab caches and the jamboree power trail...I was kind of sad to be interrupting their fun.
Anyway.... so many labs, so much geoart and so little time... but we made very good time on Saturday afternoon, being joined for a few hours by Loci612 in the every so roomy car.
Fantastic dinner and then back to the trivia for fun times... with DIP & CHEESE! At the end of the night my big beautiful cosy bed was waiting for me untouched!
The Sunday morning was targeted oldies and goodies, then the completion of the geoart.... had to have that one saved for posterity on my map. I couldnt resist cleaning up the rest of the regulars on the Jamboree trail before a last minute night-cache-in-the-day with jm383.
It all had to come to an end so I started the long-enough-to-be-boring drive back to Canberra.
Thanks to all the organisers and CO's... I had a ball

Was in the area for the OZgeomuster19 with GreyHams, dty73, and Tankengine, although GreyHams was only able to join us for some of the weekend. Not a lot of time but still managed a good amount with the Adventure Labs, Geoart, some oldies, lots of good sized containers, and some good DT caches as well.
Nice area to visit and some great targeted caches along the way, of course being a mega weekend it was heaving with geocaches and we met many along the way at caches, many times stopping at caches with many cars and caches at a time.
Canberra had a mass group attending and was always good to bump into many along the way, as well as back on site. Loci612 joined us for a large amount of the geoart and lots of fun times by all. Always good to have the backing of our friendly community!
Thanks to all the CO's for your caches, unless noted otherwise all was found easily and in good condition. Found after a little search by dty73.

Generic Log to follow…….
The Stumble’s met up with Gr8cahes whilst having a dismal attempt at solving our first ever Lab cache. Instantly they became our new best friends and helped us to complete two of them!
We left camp both days to collect some real geocaches. All in all, we spent the 2 days travelling around the area including Bald Hill and the Sea Cliff Bridge. Whilst we didn’t collect a huge number of caches, the fact that we were spending time in great company and met sooooo many fantastic and helpful cachers along the way made the weekend worthwhile. Its always nice to put a face to a cache name!
All caches attempted were successfully found except one and it was fun watching Daniel jump in and out of the car like an excited kid, racing off to claim the find. Some were really easy to find whilst others took a bit longer or required the skills of a monkey to locate!

Starting my weekend off with this series of caches and they are lots of fun TFTC Wilbert67
A group of us all arrived at the same time and it was the first of several meetings throughout the day - goldenwattle, me and DeafVW. Another full log so goldenwattle left a replacement because it was obviously going to need it in the next few days. TFTC # 14,024
The journey to the mega resulted in a lot of driving, with a few select cache finds, due to the distance I had to travel. If only there was time to find them all! Once at “The Gong” as there are so many caches, yet again, sadly, only some could be attempted. Thanks for placing the cache Wilbert67
Found today with Injeanious sometimes logging as Team JeJe. We are over visiting from New Zealand for the Wollongong MEGA event and are really enjoying some of the great local caches. TFTC!
The seond last grab for Kyzabra, Ghostgums and I before returning to the Mega site for a little trivia fun. [^] The light was fading, but no need for a torch yet as the containers were easily found on arrival.
With this one in hand, our names were added to the log and the cache returned as found.
Cheers Wilbert67.

Found with dty73 and Aquilus1. We came down to the Wollongong area to attend the mega! And of course, we did a few other caches while we were down here! This was one of them! The weather was perfect, indeed, t-shirt weather during the day! This was especially nice, as rain had been forecast! We had a great couple of days down here. Great caches, great company and some nice meals! Not to mention very nice accommodation down at Bulli! Running into other cachers and swapping pathtags was also part of the fun! Thanks for the cache Wilbert67, and thanks for the company dty73 and Aquilus1! Oh, and thanks dty73 for all the driving - mammoth effort!
