28/08/2024 2:10:00 PMA sense of deja vu here as I found another cache here back in 2014, but well worth a revisit. Thanks hevwalkerFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
We had a surprise couple of days free so we decided to head across the border in an attempt to find our 10,000th South Australian cache. Happily we achieved that yesterday and today we are doing a few more around the Millicent area before heading to Beachport for the night. We found the original cache here back in 2008 and we were pleased when we saw a reincarnation here as we had a chance to come back and say hello again.Lanky may not have had an easy life but at least in death he had recognition for the work that he had done. The cache itself was a nice quick find and the log book now contains our name,Many thanks hevwalker for bringing us back here.
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had not been prevented from attending the 2020 Mega by Covid19. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega 2020. There have been some newer caches and puzzles collected too. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Interesting history here and a lovely tribute to a well respected man. Thanks for bringing us here!
2 February 2024 12:31 pm Found with Gonefishen07. Interesting Cemetery Thanks hevwalker for the cache.
Found with Hearse068 while in the thank you for showing us this spot. Very interesting . TFTC
Just one last find of the trip. Although maybe Ill get one in Vic too! See you soon! Thanks for the amazing memories Beachport. A fab here for the fantastic history.
Last day of our trip to Beachport, Cup weekend 2023, all packed up and on our way home. Took the opportunity to grab a few caches along the way Nice easy find tftc
Our final day of our long weekend getaway to Beachport. Having just said our goodbyes to our hosts and fellow cachers at the Birthday Brunch event, we wanted to find this one cache on our way out, because the story of Lanky intrigued us. Thank you for placing a cache here hevwalker.
This guy is well featured around Beachport and it was interesting to visit his grave late today.
Not quite the cache I was expecting but it was familiar all the same.
Thanks Hevwalker

The cache was soon found after taking a moment to pay my respects to Lanky Kana. TFTC
Lovely memorial! I had an interesting experience near here. I pulled over on the grass just before turning the corner to read the cache details. A trail bike rider pulled up next to me to ask if I had pulled over because I wanted to talk to him?! Maybe I looked like a plains clothes cop with my dash bristling with GSPr and phone??? Thank you, hevwalker; cache #3957.
Post geoventure caching with Sebastbat, Jack, **JEM**, and Froghoppin, to clear some SE maps Mostly headed around Beachport today, but did get distracted a little [:o)]
Sorry for some fairly generic logs today, it's a lot to get logged on a night after so much driving around LOL But we certainly had a lot of fun finding each and every cache !
Interesting history
Thanks you for putting this cache out on the SE SA geomap hevwalker

All our Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

A great little quaint coastal settlement.
A beautiful memorial to an important part of the local history
Meandering up the Western Australia coast, the Northern Territory, and South Australia, we have finally arrived down south of SA.
Down the Highway and byways, tracks and trails, the geological, historical, the fun geocaches, traveling this great country through the eyes of a geocacher has lead us to some fantastic outlooks.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these Geocaches, it makes the Adventure more interesting.
We found your cache container, a nice quick find, and with signing duties done and dusted we replaced it as found.

Important piece of history, thanks for bringing people here. Pretty sad how quick the boandiks died out after white man arrived - may we never forget !

This was a most interesting story. Accurate coordinates and a familiar object led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks hevwalker for the cache.
Thank you for bringing us here. We read the story about Lanky and enjoyed it. SL TFTC
Easy find in and out. After reading the Plaque for Lanky that is.
Thanks for the cache

What's not to love about geocaching in a cemetery! I'm pleased Lanky received the credit due him, in death and life. A nice quiet corner for a memorial and cache.
Found this with my wonderful long suffering muggle husband while spending a few days in Robe TFTC TNLNSL Thank you for bringing us here.
Quick find while in the SE ports area to get some smilies with Kellmik

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]
Day 5: Today we set off in search of some more unusual D/T traditional combinations and so made our way to Beachport to cache around there. As usual there were plenty of stops along the way to grab other caches that we were passing.
An interesting story and a quick find.
***Thanks hevwalker for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Mr and Mrs Parrot are on a bit of R&R.
Really needed a break after the last few months and why not have a beachside break.
So heading out to Robe.
Going to check out some caches in the area and chill.
Which is easy to do given the temperature
Loved it this is why I cache to come across moments like this.

Headed out with Sylken today for a full on day out and about! Some amazing 4x4 territory particularly when you think you are on a gazetted road and it just looks like 2 wheel ruts! Loads of fun and far too many tree climbs.
Great weather for our day driving in the country. So many lambs and calves about. Long green grass hampered us at some caches but that adds to the D/T.

Another great day caching, this time in and around Beachport with FelixII. We thoroughly enjoyed the coastal views in this delightful southern port.
We found a good variety of different hides and thank all the CO’s for publishing and maintaining these caches for our benefit.
Some sobering history here...thanks for showing us.
Many thanks for the hide hevwalker

Another nice bit of history. Recognised the camo pretty quickly. Container duly signed and in good condition. Tftc
Very interesting piece of history, sad that he was the last of his entire tribe... TFTC!
A most unusual cemetery, having a hill in the middle [?].
Most people wouldn't even think to look back here to find a memorial , which in some ways appears to be discourteous toward someone who was 'respected .'
After looking for awhile, we had a 'doh' moment . TNLNSL.
RIP Lanky Kana.
Thanks again Hevwalker.

Great to see this honouring of this aboriginal tracker. He was the last of his local tribe...and he died in 1904!!!!! So what happened to the rest of his tribe? TFTC Hevwalker.
Found on my way back home after a long weekend geocaching around Mt Gambier. An unexpected surprise - really appreciated the historic dedication to Lanky. Thanks for the cache hevwalker!
Enjoy our bit of history and the sad early death of Lanky , cache was easily found as I have exact hide in Vic. TFTC
Nice easy find, big thank you to Lanky for his help in this community. I hope he is at peace now with his brothers and sisters.
Found this special piece of history, so glad Lanky has been remembered in this way. A nice quiet corner which also enabled us to find a cache . After signing the log we wandered through the area and learnt more history by reading the headstones. A favourite hevwalker, thank you.
During a weekend down at the Mount for a scuba diving symposium event, this was a day of driving back and detouring past a few caches and sights. Managed to extend my trip home to Adelaide via Port MacDonnell, Millicent, Beachport, and then Robe (to ensure that LGA is covered for a challenge cache).
I've done a few geocaches in cemeteries in my time, but seeing something different and of interest with this grave was kinda cool.
Interesting piece of history, cheers! FP for this one!

A weekend run down to the south east, with Moneydork, Freddo, Hevwalker and Phoenix Flare. We opted for the coastal route, and much of the scenery was amazing. Of course, there were plenty of caches on the way as well. We managed to reach our destination just before the Maitland event, and it was a great experience.
Very much looking forward to spending more time down this way for a while yet!
This was find number 19 of 28 for the day for me. TFTC hevwalker!

Based in Millicent, for a few days, with our caching buddies and fellow Victorians, the Suscoe duo. Today we enjoyed a coastal adventure from Beachport to Southend. The scenery was stunning, equal to, if not more impressive than Vitoria's Great Ocean Road in parts. Again places we would not have visited had someone not placed a cache there.
Thanks for bringing us here, we certainly learnt more about Australian history than we were aware of.
Thanks 'hevwalker' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe was out and about today with our good friends Phetlern yet again for a day of fun caching and seeing the sights and sites of the area between Millicent, Southend and Beachport.
What an amazing area and we really enjoyed the coastal scenery with the sandstone and limestone cliffs and the sea coming in in waves.
It was a cold start to the day but with a clear sky early we had a delightful day with sunshine and an almost warm touch to the air later in the afternoon.
Thanks to hevwalker12 for this hide, a sad piece of history to learn about.

A hot day driving around Beachport and Southend - love a cemetery, but didn't stop this time for our traditional refreshments! Great history, TFTC.
I've always liked cemetery caches, a good reason to visit a very history filled location. A small cemetery here but interesting all the same reading people's stories. Some what humbling though and the young age of many of the older graves a reminder of how hard life once was. Thanks for the cache.

Found as pen just next to the cache. Handy.

So the story goes like this.... we are here on holidays with 3 SA cachers. We are staying in an interesting AirBNB.... But the important thing is, we are all together again, and we haven't been so since Easter 2017. This was the 1st of the trip with this crew..
The other crew has finally arrived, to round out the trip to 3 SA teams and 2 Vic teams.
Found this one, signed log and replaced as found.

So the mexicans and the Bee's met up for the annual lets caches and see beautiful things week away.
This years destination was the beautiful little place called Millicent.
The group consisted of a few Mexicans TR! and Snap Happy and Best state SA Snappy Tom Cats, Chrispy89 and of course the Travellinbees and GeoDog Chester.
This cache was one of the few collected over the week long stay here. There where some clever hides, some creative, some just plain obvious and a number of DNF'd. Over all it was a great little part of our state.

Due to work being started on Lanky's grave...getting a makeover which includes a reflective garden. I have removed & are temporarily disabling the cache until the work is complete.
There are lots of Lanky references down here when you start looking. RIP. No dead people seen.

We have based ourselves in Millicent and have ventured out to as many surrounding areas as possible in a day to go sight seeing and caching. This was one we targetted and found. Thanks to hevwalker for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

We have set up camp in a wonderful park that is situated beside the lakeside pool.
