Logs
Day 3 for us at GCLOGAN. We started the day going to a block of land on Chapman Drive Beenleigh that we bought in the 1970s and sold in the 1990s. It was 12 acres on the Logan River that flooded every few years. We had a shed there and camped. Many a happy memory. So we waited at a nearby park for the GV Surprise announcement, just 750m away so we were able to get a prize. A systema with log book advertising the block party next year. Thankyou! Then off to the PO to post the postcards from yesterday. My surprise cacher comes from the Netherlands. Then we are off to the Chung Tian Temple. We had a leisurely walk around the temple. Or really 2 temples and there will be a third. It was interesting to hear of Buddhist philosophy. We also had a generous vegetarian lunch. We chose not to do the afternoon activity and went for a couple of nearby caches before heading back to base for a rest. Thanks RoddyC for creating, placing and maintaining this cache.
I was needing a Letterbox cache before the end of the month for a challenge so after the GCLOGAN event today I drove home via this cache. I quickly found the numbers and headed across to GZ where the cache find was quite obvious. The code was entered to open the cache and the log was signed. I loved the letterboxes (both of them) and thought this was a great letterbox cache. Thanks RoddyC!
GCLOGAN Day 1Found the letterbox with TBU1BIKESU Tftc RoddyC A fav point from me
Out at a nearby event. Then we head off with some fellow geos to check on the mail. Gotcha. ?? tftc ??
Mr CNQ had a few minutes before the lunch event nearby and tracked down this interesting and curiously placed cache. Thanks for the cache RoddyC.
We arrived today for the big GCLOGAN event - couple of events in the next coming days. As we arrived early, we had chosen this letterbox for our first cache today.Whilst standing at the sign, another cacher joined us, and when we had opened the letterbox, more cachers came along .Tftc RoddyC
I had this cache on my to do list and after gathering the required information I realized that this was also the venue for a GCLogan event. Another group came along to collect the information so we all wandered off to locate the cache. Thank you RoddyC for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Whilst attending the GCLOGAN Event, Albida33, Kittykatch, Wollaston and I took off to solve and find this cache. It was a quick find and the log was soon signed before heading back to the event for lunch. TFTC RoddyC
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. ???????????? (HaHa). Outnabout with a couple of GCLogan teams while in town for a couple of weeks. Its always a great day for caching. TFTC RoddyCFor anyone looking for bucket list event to attend, check out: GCANXX1 - GeoWoodstock XXI on 24th May 2025 in West Virginia, USA. See you there.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 149 - Logan Day 2. GCLOGAN event day 1. Grimraider, Kitty Katch, Smitten Granny and I set off to do some Labs near Rochedale and Sunnybank before the first big event for the week at Underwood park. There was a great food van onsite and there even some caches to do around the area. We were all allocated Where-i-gos for the afternoon, so off we went each separate group to give them a go. Once we had finished that we used the rest of the day to do some local caching around the area we ended up in after the where-i-go was completed. It was a latish return to the van where I cooked dinner and tried to do some of the logging I should It is going to be a week of falling further and further behind. This letter box required quite a bit of thinking and we did have a few questions in our minds. Despite that we headed off to the spot indicated and were very happy to find the cache a get the lock open to sign the log. Thanks for the cache RoddyC49199.4 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2013 St Peter's Basilica A#258**Albida**
A nice Letter-box and a good quick find. Log signed and returned to where I found it.Thank you RoddyC for placing this cache.
Always read the whole way. After having solved for a while we went back for the find only to have to make a second trip to the sign for the code. Got there in the end. A cool one for sureThanks
This geocache was awesome, awesome, awesome, and worthy of a Favourite Point! At the posted coordinates, questions were answered using the information on the sign, and the only answer that I needed to review/change was **S**, with my initial review thinking that one particular oval wasn't strictly a FC oval. The unlock code checksum set me straight, and then it was onwards to GZ.After arriving at GZ, the cache became immediately obvious, and entry into its interior was obtained. Great contents and swag inside, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [RoddyC](https://coord.info/PRC80AY) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/[jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) stamp. ---------- This morning, [@jesswrigley](https://coord.info/PRNW59T), babies Cottontail and Mopsy, and I headed out early south to Underwood Park to jog/walk Underwood parkrun.... it was an essential **U** for my parkrun *Alphabeteer* challenge (for those playing at home). We visited the area and utilised [Ugo in Underwood - Parks and Recreation Series](https://coord.info/GC6C344) as a guide, and then headed to Cache Cache Caf in Rochedale for a mid-morning breakfast. A few last geocaches were visited in the area before returning home.
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Today we drove from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, with several stops along the way. Great weather once again paved the way for another decent caching day.Imagine this place gets quite busy on a weekend, but not many muggles around today. Quick find after confirming the final coords. Thanks for the cache
Out and about, grabbing a nearby U. Thought I would grab this one on the way.. Forever grateful for the range of geocaching types placed in this area..Like always.. I took a couple of questions quite literally that left me stumped when the GeoChecker told me INCORRECT! Running out of space on my hand (forgot to bring my notebook), I soon realised my mistake and got the green tick of approval we all seek.. Off I went in search, with a quick find and a nearby lecky who didn't even pay me a second glance, log book soon signed and replaced. Thanks for bringing me here.. definitely a cache to consider timing to claim!I've thoroughly enjoyed your caches today, and look forward to visiting more of yours in the future!#816Achieved 6 different types today:- Where I Go- Earth Cache- Letter Box- Mystery (Puzzle)- Multi- Traditional** all within the a small radius of each other
We just needed one more cache type in one more lga to complete a challenge, so a search was done and this little letterbox found. The geohub did the signing duties while on the way home from work on the Gold Coast today. That wasp nest really needs to be taken care of RoddyC!
Thanks for the cache. The whole letterbox is in good condition. Signed and placed back. Please be weary of large wasp nest located next to lock. Have messaged owner about it.
Stage 1: A late Friday arvo, incoming storm putting some pressure on GZ calculations, but got there in the end, alas no time to reach GZ before being inundated...Stage 2: A pleasant Sunday morning, and a leisurely stroll to GZ, completely muggle free, only a nasty wasp nest guarding the letterbox, took a little bit of working to get the access code, the checksum proved handy, and we were in, signed, and out before any wasps started getting angryTFTC RoddyC, FP awarded !!!
Not a letterbox cache, really, more like a puzzle with the letterbox the aim....
I thought I had the combo wrong. It didn't want to open. Got it on the second try. Great spot. TFTC RoddyC.
After finishing work I decided to grab this cache for a challenge. Quick easy find here. Then headed home.

What great facilities here at this park/complex. The information was gathered & coordinates calculated then it was off to find the letterbox. Being a Friday it was just myself & a groundsman mowing so opening the cache was not a problem. I left 2 TB’s to carry on their journey. TFTC.
Just following the map without really thinking where we were and suddenly we were at the place of the whereigo we did just recently. Realising it had been disabled at the time and now active again, we were happy to get this one. Mr10 helped with the info and wanted the well-earned glory of unlocking the cache. A gate was unlocked so we were able to drive to gz. A cache with lots of steps to make the prize earned. Love the mailbox in the mailbox.

A new locations is to become available shortly. Can we hang off until then so this cache's history and memories (and favorites) are not lost?
Since the tragedy of the spectator stand collapse at Mitchelton last year, Council have instructed Rovers to remove all materials (signage etc) and re-apply under Council permission to have it all put back.
Will have to wait to see where this one is going, but with its history and personal meaning, I am reluctant to Archive it at this stage.

Mmm? Too good for us today.
Maybe Postman Pat no longer delivers?
Couldn't even find the specific sign with confidence, let alone a letter box!
Hopefully it's still there and we just couldn't see it from under the umbrellas!

Uhhh, silly me! I forget to read the cache description prior to arriving at GZ. Yep, a code is needed to access the cache, when will I learn. After that little hiccup I made my way over to the waypoint and gathered the info that was needed to pop the beast open.
With the required info I made my way back to the cache and popped the bugger open and added my name to the log.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Collected the info required made our way to GZ we were able to sign the logbook in the most impressive letterbox and then decided to wander around these marvellous facilities and enjoy lunch by the water. TFTC
We took note of the necessary numbers from the sign on the way to the parking coordinates but once up there discovered we could not access the fields due to locked fences. We returned to the car park at the clubhouse and had a nice easy wander around the main field to GZ. I love these ones where they’re right there in your face and not difficult to find in the slightest. Entering the appropriate numbers, we gained access to the logbook without an issue. Appreciated the well laid out items inside the cache. This is quite an impressive looking facility they’ve created here. TFTC RoddyC
The sign is still there at the waypoint so I worked out the combination and headed to the suggested parking location. The gates to the fields were locked but I found a hole through the fence around the corner near the bike tracks and made my way to GZ. I'm glad no-one was about as it's in a very open position. Unlocked the letterbox, signed log and left a tb. Tftc.
The signs have all been removed. We tried as many combinations of field numbers as we could but had no success opening the box.
Surprise! Two for the price of one!
Watch out for the swooping plovers as you approach Ground Zero!
Glad I didn’t come on game day! Muggle free zone on a weekday mid-afternoon.

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Four:
The fourth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!
Another 12+ hour day of caching, one of the highlights was finding nine Earthcaches, I am sure that is a daily record for me! Just crazy! A whole bunch of challenges, wherigos, virtuals, letterbox's and Australia's most Eastern cache were also good to grab. A very long but eventful day!
We started in Casino, NSW at 7am and finished up in Bray Park, QLD at 10pm completely buggered! Thanks to all the CO's

This Cache:
Absolutely loved this cache! A great idea for a letterbox, and lots of work gone into the final in such a busy location. I enjoyed the fact that it had two waypoints too, always more fun working for the code!
A favourite point from me for the well put together cache!
Many thanks

Having been through here recently to complete the Wherigo cache, this letterbox cache has been beckoning me ever since...
I knew the WP... and even had an idea of where the suggested parking spot was... after collecting the necessary info I drove to the car park only to find my way blocked by padlocked gates... not to be deterred I set off around the fence line where I soon discovered a less than ideal entry point...
I made my way over to the cache, and used my gathered numbers to gain entry to this nicely constructed letterbox...
Tftc... left CachemoreTravel Tag to carry on...... have another fave point...

I set off for a day of caching this morning.
1. The dash cam which hangs off the top of the windscreen was on the floor with a broken mount.
2. 200 metres later, the car GPS mount broke.
3. Struggling on, I reached the cache and the GPSr batteries gave out.
4. The spares were only just adequate, and when I reached the box, the code didn't work.
Insert much LOUD discussion about the universe, my life etcetera.
This has to be payback because I solved the puzzle of the code before leaving home. By the way, I had the correct numbers, but around the wrong way. It really was a terrible start to the day.

Find after starting the nearby wherigo. I actually left my park at the fence up from the board walk and walked here to find this great letterbox. Thankyou for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy . Giving this a FP for all the fun. Love the surprise item inside. Cute

After a full morning out with the geo pup following Ugo around underwood Park we had to stop here on the way out to grab this one. Tftc
I want to log it as found but thought not to since I did not log. Apparently there are soccer matches on a Friday night so busy area.
Willis007 and I came back today to complete the newly published whereigo, Nastty Nano’s. With that one completed we saw there was another in the area and thought why not, we got some time between us, so I downloaded the cartridge and off we went. This was just a great whereigo, a little long but, given where it took us I don’t think it could have been any shorter. It covers a huge array of aspects of this park, not just sporting but there is something for everyone area and a lot I didn’t know that was here.
On our travels we saw this letterbox and I love me a letterbox, our point of call was to grab some numbers from a nearby sign. Then head up to GZ to grab our prize. I was surprised to see this box out in the open and not vandalised by the locals. We opened the cache and found an array of items inside none of which interested us. With the log signed and all contents replaced as found we attached the security device and continued on with our whereigo.
Thank you for this one, all good with the contents etc.

Over this side of town this morning to finish off a Nasty Wherigo with Chamad, we decided to complete the Wherigo for the amazing Underwood park. During this time, we spied a letterbox cache, there was no way we were going to pass up finding this one.
We went to the required spot to gather the information we needed and headed over to the final gz. With the business end of things taken care of, we found a well stocked letterbox. Log signed, and all replaced as found, we continued our Wherigo journey.
Thanks RoddyC for this letterbox cache, all is well with it.

Damn. EatAllThePie & I headed up this way to grab the Letterbox, but unfortunately we didn’t take into consideration the fact that sports fields are closed due to covid19. Looks like this one might be unreachable until restrictions ease unfortunately!
We did have good fun getting the required information though!

A great letterbox cache! There was no one here when I arrived this morning so no trouble obtaining the required info and accessing the cache. TFTC!
Over the last couple of weeks I have spent my spare time planning my caches for a trip down to the upcoming Queanbeyan Mega event. This meant I have been a little neglectful of finding enough caches to qualify for the current souvenir promotion. This morning was about rectifying that situation and I headed out nice and early on a lovely autumn morning. The early hour was conducive to a relatively muggle free environment around GZ, and after obtaining the required information, the cache was opened and the logbook signed. Retrieved a trackable that will travel with me down to the Mega. TFTC
Great letterbox cache... left a trackable that we've had trouble offloading due to its size. TFTC
Today was the chance to get some caches in this are done. Since we live in Brisbane, we have never done any geocaching around here – just because we live on the other side and for some reasons other ideas come up on the limited time caching together. As geowife is somewhere far north for work, I can do my own thing for a week and decided to get onto this area and clear some caches in RoddyC’s backyard.
A great letterbox.
Thanks for the fun!

Was planning to find a night cache here tonight but I as blind to all reflectors and had to abort the mission with spotting even a pair of possum eyes.
Luckily there is a great variety of caches in this park and this made up for the blindness.
Like the placement, give you an FP for that RoddyC
Thank you for keeping me entertained

Back in action - development plans have been postponed until the end of the 2019 Soccer Season. So we live on at this spot until then.
The State Government and the Logan City Council are undertaking a complete refurbishment of the RRFC buildings: a two-year project.
I am temporarily removing the cache until I can confer with the Council Caretaker as to a new location, in October, after QOGM is finished.
REVIEWER NOTE: It will be four weeks before I get a chance to relocate the cache due to our being away in that time for the QOGM Geocaching Events out west.
