Couldn't find this one. Went around in circles wasn't sure if it had blown away or not
My son thought the hint said stick not steak at first which put us off for a while
TFTC cute little hide. What a view today and the surf was up. A nice place for the four legged friends x
I had no luck with the original incarnation during my last visit to New Plymouth almost 8 years ago. Today I thought I would duck out between the showers and grab the Blue Switch day souvenir while on the way into town for a little shopping. Round in circles a touch until I found the right track but then with the hint it was a relatively quick find and sign. Thanks Phronimos for the cache.
Beautiful spot on a windy day. Hopefully the sandblasting has left me looking younger! TFTC, I loved seeing your photos and remembering furry friends past and present
Great hide, we re-read the clue and my partner spotted it straight away! Signed and returned. TFTC
After another find in the cool, but nice morning air I attempted this one.
It's a cool area with great views however after searching a few good spots, and rubbish, I had no luck.

Weekend getaway in New Plymouth. Sunday drive checking out the coastline. Some nice surf today and the locals are out making the most of it. Kiwi regretting not tying his board to the top of the car. TFTC
A gorgeous day up here @ Back Beach.
Pulled over near the cache as we saw a shortcut and made our way to gz. I stood in one spot and scanned the overgrown area and in the sweep my eyes landed on a steak well past its best before date! Luckily it wasn’t too stinky and I managed to extract the log without too much ick! TFTC

Got it only thanks to a spot on cords. I've found this cache during my third day of the Queen memorial weekend in Taranaki.

Brought my mate along for the walk and he loved it. We couldn't walk along the beach because it was high tide, but thoroughly enjoyed the walkway. Fabulous views up here! Suprisingly small cache for such a location, but the hint was very clever and useful. Tftc
#13,247. A good walk off Rangitake Drive in Spotswood, New Plymouth. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of a search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Enjoyed our walk today without a dog! Very stormy conditions. Thanks for placing the cache
Geocache replaced by Juty Bug on my behalf. Thank you Jeremy.
All good to go again.
All good to go again.
We spent a bit of time here but with so many hiding places couldn't spot it today. Spotted something that potentially could have related to the hint but nothing else
GPS has me 10 m away before I thought hmmm if it was me I would have put it over there.
What a beautiful day to do a geocache, plenty of people out on Back Beach, all the car parks were full, found the cache fairly quickly, tftc Phronimos
This was significantly easier than the first one I tried. Possibly because GPS was a bit more accurate. Nice beginner cache.
If you're just starting out and reading this, do this one first.

Despite a lengthy search, we were unable to find this cache today. We were amused by the emphatic instruction to do this cache at low to mid tide. It would be somewhat worrying if the tide came this high.
Thanks for sharing your story. No flies around the steak. Impressive coastline. Son taking photos tftc
Only in Taranaki can you be so breathless walking such a short distance from competing with the wind as it threatens to drop you. Finally found my reward now I just need some tomatoes and chips with a yummy mushroom sauce to go with it.
.A bit windy so the sand is flying. A bit of a hunt here but finally found this little bugger. Now tagged while trying to hide away from the wind. Cheers
Day 7 - Friday 20 December. New Plymouth area today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Bit of a high wind at the moment. Sand is blowing around, stinging on our faces. Found the cache then hunkered down with the wind to our backs to sign the log.
Day seven of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is New Plymouth - we got here at long last! Yes, it's been a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* 3 notebooks full of cache notes for later logging
* Lots of cache maintenance!
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Walking along the path hubbie dashed through the sticky brambles and made a quick find. Tftc!
Thanks for showing us this place! And also thanks for the cache and greetings from Hamburg Germany
It was time to assemble Team BOP as I hadn't seen these crazy people since the Mega. The plan was Taranaki via the Forgotten World Highway and we were all pretty excited about it. It was a big couple of days so forgive the cut'n'paste logs as I'm logging retrospectively and a few of the hides are starting to blur together. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. TNXPro, McJandals, Davidson Clan & myself signed our logs individually or as TEAM BOP depending on time, log space or mood. Cheers & TFTC
TeamBOP have come together again for a trip to the Naki. Team BOP consists of myself (obviously), McJandals, Philip.Perry and DavidsonClan.
A shame I wasnt travelling with my furry friend today. The closest I had to my furry friend today was Philip, or Bruce, but most certainly not Jan!
Thanks Phrominos for the tour of the Naki and all the other CO's for attracting us to the Taranaki.

Found using Cachly app and logged using the text template, so please excuse generic logging in advance. On a spur of the moment roadie with Phillip.Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan from the Bay of Plenty, a plan was hatched and here we are. Great to have these places to visit and many thanks to all you COs for the placements. Cheers
In New Plymouth for the weekend caching with Team Bop . Philip.Perry Mcjandals and Tnxpro.
I am down in New Plymouth for the weekend and while I am here I thought it would be good to collect as many geocaches as possible to try and clear some of the map before I leave. I am staying at a relative's place while I am visiting here and once I had unpacked and settled in, I grabbed my geocaching bag and went for a run.
I had a little trouble sussing out where the GZ was, but eventually I got to it. After that I instantly saw it hiding away in the grass. Once I found it the clue finally made sense unlike before where it didn't really. TFTC, it is great to find another geocache, I hope to find a lot of them this weekend!!

A very nice evening to stand on top of the cliff and watch the surfers. Thanks for putting a cache here.

Thought this would be a quick grab but I didn't read it properly. We looked at the photos, parked up and headed down to the beach and got to within 29m of GZ. Hmm the elevation has been changed, may as well continue walking along the beach and head up the stairs at the rock end of the beach we thought.
Well we got to the other end only to find the access has been closed and rather than turn back we scaled the sand slope next to it.
Once up the top we circled back along the upper walking track and soon made our way to ground zero. One of us discovered a steaming pile when taking a direct route, fortunately it was not me as I followed a path and looked in the usual type places before reading the hint.
Excellent hint, not what I was thinking of but very apt.
This quick grab ended up taking us one and a half hours, but it was a nice day and a pleasant walk (except the scaling but even that was okay really). Plenty of people down at the beach, very few up on the tops.
Cheers.

Very enjoyable walk and scenery is awesome. Easy enough to find. Not a lot inside but enjoyed the experience.
Logging catch up from the last couple of months. Had the most hilarious cache trip with evisser8. Haven’t laughed so much and still laughing as we remember it now. Thanks for the placement. Interesting that muggles are most likely to be found above your head here
