Found this one while exploring the estuary, or was it the other way around?! There isnt much birdlife at rhe moment but it's lowish tide and the middle of the day. There'll be much more to see at around dusk.
Took me a while investigating many trees...cos I was thinking GL for some reason...
Went back to the tree with a geo trail and there it was!
So easy after all...

Last one of five located late today on a walk along this track. The second tree I checked but still a reasonably quick find. #3456. TFTC.
We are at level 2 so geocaching is permitted.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

I'm in Christchurch with my wife who is undergoing surgery in Christchurch Hospital and what better way to take my mind on what's happening to her than to go geocaching. I was actually down here with her about a month ago for a similar operation and it was then doing the Thompsons Track crossed my mind. I passed on it then, but when I mentioned it to a fellow cacher back home, he said to get in fast as the CO is about to archive them due to the high maintenance burden. I wonder if he has considered adopting them out.
WooHoo I've recently finished it. It took me 6h 40m with an average of 5m 30s each cache if you include the three DNF's I looked for. Not a record breaking event but I'm happy considering I was flying solo. Found 70, DNF'd 10, but in retrospect the stats should have read 71/9. My best day so far (previous was 60) and I'm not finished yet. I intend to head back to the city in time for afternoon visiting at the hospital picking up as many PnGs as possible and then go out in the evening to get enough for a century.
I decided to head out to the east of the city and work my way back to the hospital in time to visit Mrs Kiwimykl, then carry on towards the west until it got too dark or I got my century, which ever came last. At GZ c:geo was not settling down to give a decent fix on any of the hinted items, so I methodically searched each of them. When I eventually found the cache I would have to disagree as it being 'TY'. I've learnt a new caching term since I've been in Christchurch, 'QY' and I would say that is more appropriate.

Damaged MCL in knee, so flat walks this week, looked for a wee trip where I could walk flat and get further each day.. but not too far, so great fun as each along here seem to be a different person setting them.. day 1.. success! And I didn't walk too far, physio will be pleased..
Another lunchtime caching mission and walk today. Another great day to be out in the fresh air. Quickly spotted the cache today. Thanks for the cache.
Last find on the walkway for today. 1 more for another walk TFTC. No pen so have taken a sneaky pic
Out for a lovely day with busy paws. This brought us to a new area not walked before great. Luckily no one was here so we could look around. Found the cute cache (I think these things are) all tucked away snugly. Signed the log and put back to bed. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache Nosynel.
Easy find on a beautiful afternoon walk! Cool container smaller than I expected. TFTC #91
Time to get on the bike for a short ride today in the lovely Canterbury sunshine. Cheers
#3,238: Mega Smiley!
What do you do when the wee ones want to go ice skating, and you don't, and you have two hours to kill? Throw the bike on the back of the car, and come out to cache! Had a nice day out riding this track. All good!

Found on a wet and oh so windy dog walk.
Wind was literally blowing us away but we managed to stay on track. Bison hasn't been blown anywhere though. Even though it's not attached to anything, looked quite snug and comfy there.

It was such a lovely evening I decided to wander along here from the heavenly staircase. Found a very good golf ball here in the rough that its owner must've decided not to retrieve. TFTC # 11,764
Found after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing between the two hint objects. Glorious warm day today. Just a few joggers and dog walkers. And plenty of evidence of horses having been past! Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find# 1416
Had to wait for a while as there were two horseback muggles and one on foot watching the Ferrymead steam train across the water near GZ. TFTC
Have been waiting a few months to get back here and amble along the walkway finding caches. Easy find and log dry. TFTC
I have decided to fall in love with Christchurch. After waiting for the city to come up with ways I could embrace it, I realised it was time for me to take some steps instead. And what better way to do that than finding a few caches and exploring the area! To that effect, I left the house nice and early while the temperature was still well below zero, and set off to find some in town before continuing on a walk or two of some sort. This was a great choice for a walk, with a few caches along the way. I am glad I looked for them on the way there rather than back, as it got quite busy! Obviously good spot to be on a Sunday afternoon, people, bikes, dogs ad even horses! TFTC!!

Baby girl was finally feeling much better after her cold, and I was going crazy from not caching enough So off we went to go for a walk, get some vitamin D, and find some caches - maybe including some op shopping too.
This was the walk we did - and lovely perfect weather for it! Nice to finally be able to hang out with the sun!
It was pretty peaceful here today, and I managed to find all 5 caches.
Got this one on the way back, not there, as I initially couldnt find it! Coords were right, but I was looking for something larger

Down from the north currently to see my elderly parents in Christchurch and we popped out for a walk this afternoon, and naturally to collect a few smileys along the way. A pleasant walk and enjoyed these caches, TFTC
TFTC. Last cache on my mini trail along the estuary. This one had me hunting in several of the hint option locations. Eventually found it. Future hunters look on the estuary side.
Thanks Nosynel for placing the cache.
Thanks Nosynel for placing the cache.
Quick find but spotted by muggles on bikes. Time to act nonchalant and rummage in backpack! Thanks for the hide.
Another clever hide, path busy with cyclists but a dog can provide a reason for stopping. TFTC
Stumped us for a couple of minutes but on closer inspection found it. Used the dog as a decoy as a group if cyclists went past. Tftc.
Had managed a FTF at Stumpy and decided to find these other caches on way back to car. Easily found as co-ords are spot on. Thanks for placing and I must bike this track sometime as it looks a decent one for a MTB beginner to use.
TFTC:-) 401! Got the possum for 400:-) the log is full so have scratched on the side, sorry no paper with me to add.
Found with odgersaj when he was doing 100 in a month! Signed the log back then but didn't do the online bit so logging now. Thank you!!
Find #2658. Taking a short holiday in Christchurch to explore the city by bike and collect caches. Day three and 65km down the Avon and back up the Heathcote, collecting 29 caches. A great ride! Quiet here and a quick find. SL TFTC
A very quick check of the most obvious objects turned up nothing then another non man look spotted the cache covering and then there it was.
We headed out early afternoon for the Heathcote / Ferrymead area to look for some caches - our mission was to turn today into a least a tensy day, and we easily achieved that target.
Spotted something that needed further investigating and there was the cache. No cycling for us today - we walked in from the Ferrymead side and it was a pleasant day for it. TFTC.

Out and about with tmann421 enjoying the sights and collecting some caches along the way.
A nice quick find for us here. TFTC

Nice stroll along the river on a warm day, great view of the steam train TFTC
Cache find 7350. Walked in and checked our Hidden Pathway cache and decided to fit in three more along the track before it got dark. No GPS, no map, no hints, no descriptions but managed to find two out of three by using the rule about distance between caches and pacing it out. This one was found by using instinct and luck. Took just seconds. Thanks. Rodney.
After some car caching it was time for a walk - so a stroll along the Heathcote looked perfect. And with finding all the caches this was even better. Thanks for placing them.
