Hi casa del hince
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Spent too much time searching for a cache of this rating.
Thanks for the hide.
A great rest stop that is getting ruined because some people are using it as a dumping ground.
Many people came and left during my visit here.
Found a couple of old mattresses, tires, carcasses etc.
My hope is that this cache will be checked on soon and updated because with more positive traffic there may be less dumping.
Cheers

On our way to Napier & decided to give this cache a go. Gave a good effort but am confident it is no longer there. Wasn't 100% what we were looking for
Off on a 5 day mission from Northland to the East Coast with the main target being the last two CANZ caches that I had not yet found. The opportunity to grab some $25 airfares to Napier was just too good to miss, even though it was winter and the days might be short and the weather might be dodgy.
Day one though was a real mission, with early morning fog for the drive to Auckland, untold time navigating the long Akl parking lots, delayed flights before we took off and then again in the air before we could land causing a missed connection for the rental cache mobile pick up. To top it off, the weather was cold and wet, but I still managed four caches in the dark.
Day three dawned a bit better with no rain and the promise of some sunshine later in the day for our trip northward from Napier up to Gisborne. Was surprised how long and winding the road seemed to be today, even though we have plenty of back roads in Northland that would qualify as well. Made a stop for this one and with the good hint, the cache was soon located, log signed and then replaced securely as found. Spotted some wild goats feeding nearby as well. TFTC

After passing a few caches with my caravan and wsn't able to stop I decided to come back today minus the snail shell.
It certainly is.

#6498. Decided to have a short holiday on the east coast to enjoy the warm summer weather. The girls have joined me on the road trip. Stayed the night in Waipukurau. Now heading north to Gisborne. Stopped at Lake Tutira to take in the scenery and pick up several caches. Looked to see where the next cache was on the road and its this one. Must be one of the longer stretches between caches on a state highway. Might need to fix that on the way back. Diverted off the highway to the rest area. Luckily no one was here when we arrived. But had just started searching when a car arrived. The guy ducked into the bushes on urgent business it seems. I soon spied the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks casa del hince for the cache.
We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one!
Greetings from the Dutch.

Nice place to pull off the road, there was a van there but with no occupants to be seen so we could make the find in peace. TFTC
It is a long and winding road. I also took the wrong (long) route to the cache due to GPS playing up. Muggle sister located cache for me. TFTC
One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!! TFTC!!
Caching with Sidewaze as we make our way around East Cape to Tauranga and then back to the South Island via Palmerston North and ferry across Cook Strait. TFTC
It certainly is a long and winding road - - - with more than a few bumps too. Fortunately there was no evidence of the second part of the title so people who follow us need not be too worried about the state of the surroundings. TFTC .
A quick stop and sign on the way to Gizzy (Gisborne). We’re lucky with the weather today as the sun is shining in some parts. Took the Toucan and left a TB which wants to reach the Czech Republic. Thank you casa del hince for the cache; thankfully we didn’t stumble across any bush dumps .
Nice find while in the area today with woolwood9.
Enjoyed the drive and caches found. SL TFTC

Looks like a popular rest stop, quite a few cars parked up here. Cache was far enough away from the main area to be able to retrieve it without detection .

Another good park and grab on our way south. Swapped swag. Dropped off a geocoin and picked up a Trektag. TFTC.
Time for a mini Road trip with some very specific caches in mind as we, kyb3r and myself try to cover the miles and collect the targeted few caches we wanted.
Setting off after work (6.15pm) and fighting the Easter traffic chaos we headed from a quick trip around the East Cape with no planned caching prior to the Mighty Motou.
Trip Stats were: 30 hours (Door to Door), 2 Hours Sleep, 51 caches located, 3DNF's and 1200 kms Driven mostly along roads not traveled previously.
A big thank you to all the cache owners whom through their collective work made this trip possible and to the various fuel companies for whose profits I sometimes feel the Geocaching community are propping up. Some great sights were seen and a few short walks were enjoyed by he both of us.
This was out thirtith cache of the trip as we headed back down the coast.
Well, having now had two hours sleep (Sleep's for the weak). Heading souoth once again towards Napier before the net part of the adventure. Nice and quick find here
Thanks for bringing us here today, Thanks for the cache

A quick find although there were several vehicles stopped with occupants sitting outside for coffee / lunch. No one appeared interested in me so I went ahead - The container and log are both in good condition. SL. Thanks to casa del hince for the cache.
First time on this road, really enjoyable drive. First log in the book for 2018. Happy New Year everyone! TFTC
We are on our way from Gisborne to Napier. The Pacific route is indeed a lot of turning and beautiful views. We picked this one up but had to search for a little while.

A great rest stop for some shade over lunchtime. The cache was easily found without the need to venture off the road into dangerous bush territory! A good hide. We picked up one of the two great pathtags and left a keychain man. SL. TFTC.
Found with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!
Holidaying for a couple of weeks in NZ to do a bit of sight seeing and catch up with family. We have been from Auckland to Tauranga to Hicks Bay, the East Cape and Tolaga Bay and are now heading to Napier! I'm so glad this could be reached from the road as it was much like a rest area not far back where the cache ended up being hidden in an area full of 'land mines'. Nasty business. Humans do make me wonder sometimes. Anyway, all was fine with this cache. Thanks, casa del hince.
On a month long road trip of the North Island from the UK. On our way to Napier and stopped off to grab this one. TFTC.

Just checking my cache and leaving a couple of TBs plus a paththag. cheers from casa del hince TFTC
Road trip from Rotorua to Gisborne a couple months back, just catching up on logging. Had our little people age 3 with us, not ideal spot for them to roam around bit smelly. TFTF
Pulled off the highway and parked near GZ. We were going to stop for coffee, but the smell of dead animals was too overpowering. The "stump" has fallen.
Thanks casa del hince.

A half year ago we - McMuffin, Flitzpiepe, LE Surfy and I - started with the concrete plans for our holidays in New Zealand . The flights and the campervan were booked, the hotels in Auckland and Christchurch were selected and the route was planned . On 16.2.2017 we started our journey and arrived on 18.2.2017 in Auckland, a little bit tired, but very excited. The baggage was given in the hotel and we already went on sightseeing and seeking caches. Of course, we visited at the harbor, walked through the streets and had a look over Auckland from the top of the Skytower.
On 19.2.2017 started our campervan adventure . First we drove to Coromandel Peninsula. I like the Driving Creek Railway, the New Chum Beach and the Cathedral Cove very much.
Then we drove criss-cross the North Island. At first we visited Hobbiton, we saw the glowworm caves and stopped at the imposing Mount Taranaki .
The route took us back to the Tongariro National Park, to Lake Taupo and to Rotorua. The hot springs and geysers are really impressive. We also stopped at the Huka Falls. It was great .
The starry sky at the East Cape was phenomenal . Then we visited Gisborne and Napier.
Of course we found some nice caches. We interrupted our tour for this cache and found the cache easily.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings, Iliona

A quick stop and grab on this windy road after a trip up to Lake Waikaremoana. Some beautiful views towards the ocean nearby. TFTC
I see all the T.P. but maybe some of is for No. 1. Found a trackable and will take it flying. Here with HennyGeo in scenic N.Z from Vancouver Island, Canada . TFTC.
We had a quick stretch of the legs here before finishing our journey home to Hastings. Dropped off a TB. We had previously tried to find the tape so was nice to stop and find the replacement cache. TFTC
Again nice easy cache to find while traveling. ... directions and clue exact. Tftc.
Collecting a few caches while travelling from Gisborne to Palmerston North. Stopped by here for a quick rest. One other car was in the area but out of site of GZ. After a stroll over to GZ and a quick contemplation I soon spotted the hiding spot. The container was so perfectly hidden in it's host it was like it was made just for this spot. Thanks for a good sized container casa del hince. No issues with toileting supplies around here today.
T F T C and thanks to the CO for bringing me out on another adventure. Everyone is different and interesting. The time and effort you put in to setting and maintaining caches is appreciated.

A quick easy find, in this little rest area. As the original bison has been replaced with a larger cache, perhaps the owner could update the size and description. TFTC
Another short stop for a cache on today's trip to Gisborne on this New Zealand vacation of mine. The hidden treasure was discovered without any problem and the log is signed now.

Wheelchair: no problem;
State: all good.

But would it take me home ?? [:o]
Of course not [:o)]
OK !! The road since leaving Napier sure is long and winding
It is scenic if you have not driven along it before
And as an added bonus you get the usual entertainment of Kiwi drivers trying to kill each other doing stupid things
At least I am driving a bigger car than those twits [^]
And along the long and winding road,
I reached the first cache stop for quite awhile
So out I hopped for a leg stretch.
The usual pesky muggle was parked with a view of GZ from about 30 metres away
But this muggle seemed to be rather interested in the book he was reading ...
... "50 Shades of Grey" maybe ??
Just sayin',
some blokes must have read it if what it is about is anything to go by
NO !! I haven't read that tome
But it does seem to get women excited,
and no doubt husbands curious.
'Nuff the social commentary !!
There was a cache to be found in full view of a muggle.
Which was rather easy to do thanks to the engrossment of whatever said muggle was reading
TFTC.
It certainly is well concealed,
but obvious it you have the clue [^]

Squirrel Nutcase and myself are on a road trip to the Gisborne area chasing caches with a higher D rating for our licence challenge. We visited area 3 months ago and hopefully we will have better success this time and collect anything else on the way. Day 1 was to get there first and day 2 back to Rotorua via Wairoa Napier way.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... After five months of grief, it's time for another serious attack on our current caching license. We're heading east to target seven high difficulty caches, and anything else that catches our attention...
The problem with rest areas is that the general public use them as toilets... We had trouble trying to find this one as it was buried well below detection level. Even after scratching around, we failed to spot it immediately. It was only after getting down low enough, that we recognised the hide... TFTC.

After having lunch in Wairoa (very lovely pasties from Osler bakery) I moved foward on my way to Napier. It's really a very, very lonely area here and I like it! Because I'm from Germany where a lot of People are living (more than 80 Mio. !!). And I had a nice break here and looked after the Cache.
Thanks a lot for the Little one.
