Last cache before heading homePaddling the Colo River Sat and today picking up some others before heading back. Thanks for getting me out and about Splitty Miller JJCC
Colo River TripHeading to Wiseman's Ferry area for a weekend of caching with Joolay, contesta and Smittengranny. We joined up with a bunch of Canberra cachers to find some challenges and puzzles today. Picked up on our way south, heading home. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache Splitty Miller JJCC
It is now Sunday and we (the group who had driven up from Canberra) allowed ourselves a bit of a sleep in after the kayak adventure on the Colo River yesterday. It wasn't much of a sleep in though as there are just so many caches up here to be found - some of the mysteries having already been solved at home. The day dawned sunny and very humid, which didn't bode well for some of the hilly walks. However we were blessed with 100% finds of the caches that we targeted. This was one of them and the logs were all signed as CC24 (Canberra Crew) to save space. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches
Have been staying in Ebenezer for a couple of nights. Grabbed a couple more caches before leaving. TFTC
Sydney to Melbourne Meander. Day Two: Windsor to Cessnock (wrong direction, I know).Weather: SensationalIm on my way to the Ebenezer Virtual, but couldnt resist stopping off here for an easy letterbox find. The bull across the road watched me very closely until I had returned the cache, and then he resumed grazing. Sadly no stamp in this letterbox at the moment, not that I collect them. The recent maintenance was appreciated; this felt like a FTF!Thanks for this hide Splitty Miller JJCC.
Removed all wet logs and old stamp and replaced with a new dry logsheet. No stamp at the moment.

Found with PapaGrouch. We were out for a drive to find some caches and stopped to find this one. I had taken my jacket off earlier because it was a nice day, I wished I still had it on as I accessed this one, there were lots of scratchy plants to push through to reach the cache. TFTC
Love letter box caches. cache contence is a bit damp. signed, stamped and returned TFTC with Geomonster

We were in the area and as we had time picked up this cache. We have put off collecting letterbox caches because we have not organised ourselves to log letterbox caches, however given that we don't often come this way we decided to log this cache. TFTC Splitty Miller JJCC. The 4Rods.
Found this ages ago along with 8 other caches. Thank the Lord for lists otherwise these wouldn't have been logged!
I joined Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK for a trip to Sydney to drop in on another Celebration Event. This time in the Hawksbury. We used up the rest of the day doing a series of Challenge caches near Penrith, including a bonus First to Find, and then some of the EG caches surrounding the event location. A long but exhiklerating day of caching.
We targeted a few of the different cache types along the way.
Thanks for the cache Splitty Miller JJCC

Headed Sydney way with fitzy_1965 and albida33 today.
We had seen the community celebration event a few weeks ago. I was keen to get to Ebenezer as my Australian family roots come from there so made plans to head north today. After a foggy start, it turned out to be a rather warm day compared to Canberra and surrounds lately.
On our way through Ebenezer, we decided to start doing this series of caches. My Ancestry Family Reunion is held in Ebenezer at the Church every 5 yrs. It got postponed from last year and has just been postponed again so nice to come up here regardless. My descendants, on my Australian side, were on the Neptune which was part of the Second Fleet. They are buried at Wilberforce cemetery.
Quick find here today.

24,753. Found with minniek and albida33 during a run up to the Ebenezer region for a Community Celebration Event.
When we spotted another Community Celebration Event being held up at a Winery in the Ebenezer region, we decided to head up that way for a full day of caching. A foggy start from Goulburn had us soon burn through for what was a lovely day to be outside. After finishing off a bunch of challenge caches along The Northern Road - including a surprise first to find - we started doing the EG-Q series and other bonus caches along the way. They were all found without any real issues unless otherwise stated. We always enjoy doing Letterbox Hybrids, and this was a really well set up one. Quick find here. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Splitty Miller JJCC !!

We're camping at Wisemans Ferry for a few days and today I'm on a caching excursion to Ebenezer and back via a somewhat circuitous route on both sides of the river.
Thanks for this straightforward find teamMerlin and I liked that it's a letterbox cache in Post Office Rd.

Found by Mary and David at 11:25. Interesting wildflowers about, although you locals may see them as weeds. Here for a family reunion lunch. Hope we can get home to Melbourne before the border closes. Quite cool today, not what we expected. Our thanks to Splitty Miller JJCC.
Great day of caching near the Hawkesbury River. Started in Ebenezer with the AL, unfortunately very unsuccessful as the location service on my phone was struggling and could not fix on the wp's I needed. Luckily I also made a good plan for other caches so the day turned out productive. Weather was really good, about 20 with a little breeze and nice and sunny. Quick find

When Muppet95 suggested we spend part of the week-end in Sydney I cleared my calendar preparatory to blitz Saturday. We got a fairly early jump on the day, weren't long and we were Penrith-bound, and landed at our first stop by nine o'clock. The rest of the day was full on, completing ten Adventure Labs in the process, and made our way from Penrith up to Windsor, back to Blacktown via Riverstone and finally ending up in Ingleburn. Only a couple park n' grabs, several long walks, no DNFs, and one abandoned prospect as we discovered we were not prepared for a swimming find. All but a couple were adventures whether or not they were labs. I lost count of everything we did except that we made it back home before the local pizzeria closed at nine o'clock. It was a pretty good workout. Oh, and the weather was perfect. Thanks to all the COs for a great day!
Easy little park and grab. The cache is in fair condition only as it has been waterlogged. Signed and replaced. TFTC
#8 Cache attempted today along our geo tour. We drove to the dirt road and parked in front of the entrance. We walked down to the cache and paid our respects to the passed. We noticed the Rose family and the many people who were the first settlers. Cache was easily found, a bit rusty. Signed log. TFTC!

Day 1 of our roadtrip to Canberra and back, a recreation of one we did 3 years back, to now share with our youngest team member. With the Putty Road closed, we diverted through Sydney traffic (joy) and onto the (smoky) Bells Line of Road to Bathurst, our stop for the night. We managed 18 finds for the day, with just 1 DNF. A good start.
We were in need of a letterbox cache to complete a challenge we've signed, so Ebenezer was a spot to visit, with the above diversion we battled through Windsor to get here. No problems at GZ, we bashed our way in T3, and out T1.5. TFTC!

Found this on a quick birthday romp through Ebenezer. Quite enjoyed finding this one, did the necessaries, popped the cache back in the hide, and took photos of some cows on the way back to the car. Thanks for the hide!
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Vineyard for a short three day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Avina Caravan Park, and planning on exploring the areas around Vineyard, McGraths Hill, Mulgrave, Windsor, Wilberforce, and Ebenezer. And being the final weekend of the Cache Carnival (ends Monday) we will be looking to maximise our score on the Friends Leaderboard. Today we were heading up to Ebenezer and then to Australiana Pioneer Village at Wilberforce. This was our 6th find of the day, and 46th find of the holiday.
It's always nice to come across some Letterbox caches when out & about, so we had to make the minor diversion for this one. Quickly found the cache container, stamped & signed the log sheet, dropped a TB, then replaced as found.
One of the TB's we have been carrying (a cow tag) has a mission to be photographed with cows, so we helped to fulfil it's mission with the help of some friendly cows across the road from the cache. TFTC Splitty Miller JJCC.

#8918 - 14:45; I was headed north with Sol de lune to attend an event in the Hawkesbury and we stopped off for a few caches along the way. The day was very hot and peaked at more than 40 degrees, so the chosen caches for today were all located close to roads. This was one of the drive bys we collected on our way after we had passed through suburbia and were closing in on our destination. TFTC Splitty Miller JJCC
Heading up to the Hawkesbury area to attend an Aussie Day event with LuckyL10n and the plan was to stop to grab a few caches along the way. We decided to find a few in this series as we thought some of the GZ would offer a bit of shade, compared to other areas along the way.
Always like to grab any LBH's we see so this one was on the list. With the heat of the day, it was just about making the find and getting back to the car.
Thanks for this one Splitty Miller JJCC. Cache all good.

I was on my way to a New Year's day event at the Tizzana Vineyard and decided to leave early from home so I could pick up some of the many caches in the area.
Many of the finds were related to the Ebenezer GeoQuest series, but as I did not manage to visit all of the 25 caches, I definitely will need to comeback for more geocaching in this beautiful area.
I did not see a post office on Post Office Road, but I did dins two caches with include Post Office in their names.
This cache of course had a stamp inside, but I noted many of the items, including the log sheet are quite damp/wet. Not easy to write on!

Another day OCW marj01. After a very early start from the eastern subs we arrived at Ebenezer at first light to commence the day. During the course of the day we visited 69 trads, 4 multis, 2 puzzle and 2 letterbox caches. With only a handfull of dnfs it was a successfull day, with the majority of the caches being found in a reasonably short time. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining their caches and providing us with a fun day. Cheers oldmorty.

After a week way from the searching for caches after our holiday, we needed to get out and about on a glorious day. With a total of 25 finds for the day, it felt good to make some finds after a week of no finds.
All caches were in excellent condition except as otherwise noted in my comments below.

Found this one very easily. Nice little container that doesn't blend in with it's surrounds. Found three logs, 1 mouldy and unusable, and two damp ones. Signed and replaced cache as found with some extra natural camo.

Having recent refound our stamp it was time to put it to use as we do like letter box caches so on the way out to the CITO we made a short detour into an appropriately named street and made the find. A large set of cows from the opposite paddock looked on in some want amazement as we completed the inking duties. TFTC.

Fox in Jox, TikvaNZ and I left Canberra just after 6 am, and headed straight to this cache! It was my 25th LBH cache, thereby helping me qualify for a challenge down in Victoria (and almost getting me across the line for a UGC challenge cache in the ACT). At GZ the cache was quickly found. Loved the bright colour of the container! Happy to be back in the Hawkesbury area. Just love this neck of the woods, not just for the high-quality caches.

Heading out to the Hawkesbury for the International Geocaching Day event at the Tizzana Winery, I made an early start so I could grab some caches along the way.
I'd made my first find at the Settler's Cottage then turned down Post Office Road to check out the Bush Letterbox.
Although someone was here only four days ago there was no caching trail to follow to GZ and of course I chose the most prickly way in.
It was very quiet here but still rather windy. There were quite a lot of muggle cows across the road, all lying down but when I pulled up they got up and came over to investigate. Watching me sign the log must have been too boring for them as they all turned around at once as if someone had called them and headed down the hill.

I'm working in the area for a few weeks.
Having finally caught up on logging
my past finds, I was eager to collect some more caches from around this region while I'm out here.
This is only my second Letterbox cache.
I parked close by just off the road, and followed the signal to GZ. This was a quick easy find, again the camo had not been properly reinstated by the last finder leaving the cache somewhat exposed. The same was the case at EG-Q#03: Ebenezer Post Office.
SLTNLN and replaced the camo with more care.
Find: 395
5th of 8 finds for today
0 DNFs for today
Cache: in good condition
Log/Logbook: In good condition with lots of room left.

A quick park and grab.. interesting cammo.. suppose it doesn't matter, not much chance of it getting muggled where it is unless there a "clean up" day.

22/7/17 Found with AlphaDeltaIndigo & pk1965. On a mission to find Regular or Large sized caches, as well as Multi, Mystery and Letterbox / Hybrid caches to help me edge closer to completing the respective UGC challenges, I hatched a plan with AlphaDeltaIndigo and pk1965 to travel out west to Ebenezer, to take part in the monthly CITO and meet & greet events… and do some caching while we were there!
After a delayed get away, we arrived about three quarters of the way through the ‘Charles Kemp Reserve Bushcare - CITO Event 07/2017’ but, with the arrival of the late shift, we jumped straight into the bush regeneration to make the best use of our time. There was plenty of Mother of Millions (Bryophyllum species) to be weeded and we rolled up our sleeves and tried to make a positive dent in the area. We filled up a couple of bags before calling it quits, so we could get to the next event. Thanks For The CITO Event Cache Splitty Miller JJCC & teamMerlin.
Before we made our way over to the meet and greet event, we wanted to quickly pick up a few target caches in the vicinity. We made short work of the ‘Post Office Letterbox’ Hybrid Cache, ‘Within the pages’ Multi Cache (which we found 15m west of the final co-ordinates), the ‘Portland Head Letterbox’ Hybrid Cache and ‘EG-Q#14: Kirwan’s Retreat [TB Hotel]’.
While we wanted to go off and to more caches in the limited time we had today, it was hard not to want to stay the rest of the afternoon at the ‘Meet & Greet at the Hawkesbury 7/17’ Event Cache. What is always a great event, the gorgeous weather meant it was perfect sunning on the lawn and chatting about all things geocaching. Then came the soup… yum! Thanks For The Event and caches phlphotos, teamMerlin and Splitty Miller.
We eventually dragged ourselves away from the event in the hope we could pick up a few more caches before having to return back to the big smoke. We set our sights on the nearest unfound Multi Cache, ‘Cables Near the Oval’ Multi Cache in Sackville North, which was also a handy Regular Size. We collected the answers easily enough and did the calculations while taking a ride across the river. Once we were on the right side of the waterway, we ended up picking the hard way to Ground Zero, but in the end, it was not too tricky and we soon had the Cache In Hand. Thanks For The Multi Cache Ropes.
A cache that caught our eye was ‘Edgy’ in Sackville, which is also another Regular Size, because of its higher Terrain rating. We parked behind the abandoned car at the trailhead and followed the track to Ground Zero. We looked over the edge and was surprised by the large drop but managed to find the easiest way down to the cache. Nice views of the river properties below from here! Thanks For The Cache LittleBub.
On our way back to Sydney, we swung by the ‘Trig Station Letterbox’ Hybrid Cache in Nelson for a fast find. While we were there, I thought I may as well log the Trig Cache on GCA as well. Thanks For The Letterbox / Hybrid Cache AussieCacher. A fun day out west, soaking up the warm winter rays.
In the evening, after the Sydney Swans had a convincing win over the St Kilda Saints at the Sydney Cricket Ground, AlphaDeltaIndigo and I decided to pick up one more to make it ten finds for the day. The ‘Centennial Park Riddle’ Mystery Cache was one of the closest unfound, so we walked over, avoiding the traffic congestion around Moore Park. A tricky one to search for at night but AlphaDeltaIndigo went back to double check a spot and turned up the hide. Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing. Thanks For The Mystery Cache Flintstone’s.
