I am no longer in NZ. It appears this GC is all washed up, so time to say good-bye.
I knew what to expect so was equipped with more than just the water, so it was all easy, as it was designed to be. The structure has had a bit of a battering but is still OK TFTC
We kept putting this cache off as we weren't too sure of the correct way to access it without going through the school grounds. Eventually saw what looked like a walkway on google maps but looked like a private drive when we got there. Anyway, that's what we used and soon found the cache. We had a litre of water with us but that wasn't quite enough so while I manned the stations Andy went and got the extra that was required and we eventually had cache in hand. Log signed, cache returned and we headed back to the car to carry on to another cache. tftc
Found quite easily but cache looks like it's had a bit of a hard time by people trying to get to it by other means than water. Added some dry paper for log.
We skirted the direct route and walked thru Garin College and round the vewge garden to get here armed with water as instructed. Filled it up but this was another failure of the pipes. So to plan B and grab the tool kit to dismantle and coax this extremely shy cache out of its hiding hole. Finally tagged and reinstated. Cheers. Lots of rotten fruit all over the ground so picked up a few nice looking pears to aid us on our way.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geotrip to Nelson. We are on the hunt for points for the Carnival season so targeting the best caches Nelson has to offer. Zara is keeping the neighbours company while we zip around with Toby.

So. Added H2O, knowing the traps and dealing to them before hand. Loads of water but no cache. Resorted to extreme measures. Freed the cache and tested. How the heck did it get stuck???
Lots of kids at the park, but all nicely out of sight. Excellent.
With the latest Groundspeak promotion, Cache Carnival, I loaded my GPS with a pocket query containing all caches with 10 favourites or more between Nelson and Motueka. Over 1000 carnival points, should be enough to get me to 500 and the Grand Poobah souvenir; Rio de Janeiro. Except that I forgot the other aspect of the game, and I started this trip with 350 points, achieved while sitting on my arse, doing nothing. Taybeedragon has bet that I can get to 500 without finding a single cache, simply due to others placing favourites on my caches.
So anyway here we are, Taybeedragon and I, targeting better-than-average caches.
Took only 8 cache finds to get to 500 points. Yet to see if I could have done it with no finds at all...

Chose this spot for my walk tonight to grab some caches. I had missed this previously as I didn't have the necessary equipment...tonight I had it on hand and was able to grab this cache. Tftc
An early walk this morning in an October frost. Brought the essential ingredients and hey presto, cache in hand. 805m towards the DGSC distance challenge also. Thanks for the cache.
Over from Melbourne visiting Jay’s family and grabbing the occasional cache on our travels. Nice hide. Realized we needed to bring along some ‘equipment’ and an extra pair of hands came in useful. TFTC.
Down in Nelson for a 10 day holiday and one of our annual big treks in the wilderness somewhere in NZ. Located the cache. Fortunately we had not relied on our standard supply and had purchased an extra large version at the supermarket. Was only just enough to retrieve the cache.
Cool cache, used my water in my bottle holder on my bike while out on bike ride in the area today. TFTC

After yesterday's aborted mission an early morning revisit in the half light and drizzle. Needed to move a little of the piled cuttings to access the cache but nothing too difficult. Cache was soon in hand. Signed the temporary log on the second line and replaced and reset for the next finder.
Nicely done, and thanks for the cache.
Nicely done, and thanks for the cache.
Was all set for this one, but today was the day the caretaker / gardener / arborist had chosen for an afternoons work and staking of the cuttings right beside the cache. Decided to continue the ride and try again on the return journey, but he was still there working hard. One for another day!
Suitably prepared as have come across a number of these. Cache container was extremely wet inside and log sheet very damp. Dried out container and ut a new log sheet in a double bag with the old one down the bottom of the container. Hopefully that will help to keep it dry. TFTC enjoyed the series.
We had to come back too, not enough H2O first time , came across one of these in Paraparaumu once called fingers and thumbs, i wonder why ! very clever. TFTC.
After finding Learning to Serve we made our way across to this cache. Once again figuring out how to get to GZ was the tricky bit. Two sets of hands was useful for retrieving the container - meant we used less water. Like the previous finder, we found the log damp and a bit crumbly (bag has holes), but we managed to leave our mark. TFTC.
Came well prepared for this one, but still missed one hole and got wet jeans, nice one. You many need a new log book as its a bit wet and falling to pieces managed to sign it OK though, its been on my radar for a while, and a fitting cache to fill in a missing day in my stats..
Found it after adding quite some water and getting rid of spiders, but log was damp so we took a picture. TFTC
Wouldn't have been able to do it on my own, lucky I had the grandchildren with me. They thought it was great. Sons Team-Gaters logged it just before me. Thanks for the cache.
Back in town for a couple days for a family celebration. Spied this during the morning but didn't have the necessary on me...came back with the kids and with plenty....kids useful as they have plenty of hands and fingers! LOL. A fun cache!. Once full cache seemed to be AWOL but a gentle tap sent it into my hands for the find and sign. Awesome fun. A few teachers around getting ready for the start of the new term but all good ....Cheers!
Brilliant design, definitely used up all of our water on the long dry walk. A bit of teamwork war required. Fafourite from us. Tftc
Found on a sunny new years day bike ride. Thanks for replacing the cache. Thanks for fixing it up - definitely required two people or lots of chewing gum!
Quite a challenge, and took two times to get the cache out of the tube. It was called the hard geocache, but as a group we found this one easier than the other one at Garin
This geocache is back and improved with a higher difficulty level. be sure to read description! Happy caching!
This cache is being remodeled and upgraded. Please pardon the mess. Will be back online soon.
Found but it had been completely broken. Found bits on the grass and tried to put it all in one place. We think it would have been a good one when it was working as originally planned. Tftc
Out on a walk ducked in for a quick look found what I needed to signed and left TFTC
Thanks for the cache Hoosier kiwi nice easy one but cache has a broken top needs glue TFTC
Came prepared with water but just touching the top the whole thing fell over! Braces have been broken at some stage. But this is a clever cache, thanks for placing it
Found with the two Germans after a quick tip to the Booby Trap. Had to make second pass at GZ, as the caretaker was on site with his trailer, and not likely to move soon. Brought the necessary H2O , but found this was not necessary today. Just Add Water needs some glue to bring it up to its original fluid potential. TFTC.
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.

A walk from KE,s house along with ellie soon spotted the container, KE had brought the necessary H2O. TFTC
It was far too hot to stay indoors tonight so we headed Richmond way to find a few caches. This one was the second one on our list and armed with some water we arrived at GZ to find a log to sign which was quickly achieved.
Thank you Hoosier Kiwi.
Thank you Hoosier Kiwi.
A new cache today had me discover a few caches that slipped under the radar. The walk wasn't long but it was still hot. I restrained myself from hydrating until we had success. There was plenty H2O left after a successful mission. The cache is getting a bit worse for wear after some brute force had been applied at some stage it seems. Log was wet but aqua paper dries easily Nice cache and well thought out. A fav. Thank you Hoosier Kiwi
Quick find. Waterlogged so we did our best to dry it out. Maybe some attention to water-proofing? Thank you Garin.
Cache getting a bit soggy , take a tissue to do some drying !!, Maybe a water tight lid would assist , but loved the search TFTC
Decided I better get this one before schools go back. Always enjoy doing this sort of cache
I am sorry I haven't log this cache earlier, Sir Belac was with me when we signed the log on 22-1-16 .I was looking at some caches that I could use to do for my 10 or more Favorite caches for my souvenir and discovered this cache hasn't been logged .This cache deserves a favorite. Tftc Hoosier Kiwi .
I found this with Nanzie but didn't log it at the time. Sorry for the late log. Cool cache. Thank you
Spotted quickly and log retrieved easily. I love these caches. Thanks for placing

Walked over after dinner with Ms M to make the quick find.
I don't think the cache is quite in the state it was first placed. No liquid required.
Replaced soaked log book with a water proof sheet.
Checked out the vege patch and then walked home through the school for a bit of a lookie see.
Enjoyed reading your cache description.

A New Year trip over the hill for the now familiar mrs capperz/nightowl19 shopping trip at the Mall and capper visit to local caches was planned despite the promise of some wet stuff after experiencing some temperatures of 34 degrees yesterday. No my most successful days caching ever despite the multitude of treasures on offer and even Tally the dog wasn't too enamoured after recent long runs over in Brightwater. So, 4 DNFs and a DN attempt along with 5 finds was the score for today and the treat of some new hide types also an education
Came over here armed with great ideas of what would be and found the log was primed and ready for signing, albeit slightly damp!
Nice concept, I like these types of caches

Water, water everywhere and not where we wanted it to be. Only day we had to watch some cricket and it rained and rained and the cricket was washed out...and so were we from the cricket ground. So... what better to do than go and play with some water and a cache. TFTC
That was a new pathway for us. Met a group of people wandering home from the (abandoned) cricket. They enquired about why I was carrying a milk bottle full of water so I told them it was gin. - - - They seemed quite happy with that explanation though I could tell they didn't believe me. The cache was retrieved without too much difficulty. Funny how it's right there for everyone to see but most people wouldn't even notice it. The log was rather damp and will need replacing before too long. TFTC!!!!
Last cache for 2015. A short walk from home. Less than 300m as the crow flies. Log is getting a bit damp. How does that happen with such a cache? Lol.
Thanks Hoosier Kiwi for the cache.

Quick find at 7pm on New Years Day. Clever cache. Log book a wee bit damp so may need some attention shortly (sorry - I didn't have a replacement with me today). Thanks Hoosier Kiwi
Was in the grounds looking for the GCGC2 and had a look at this one also. First time round didnt have enough water. Back later in the day and managed to extract. Nicely done. TFTC
A couple of pre Christmas visits in the area and some shopping needed - so 2 Richmond caches seemed logical to do. This was the first and similar to some we have done before so Mrs Sobad arrived well prepared. As others have commented, she was over prepared, but that was no problem. The problem could have been the woman approaching taking a dog for a walk. Fortunately it was 2 dogs - she was too busy looking behind her for the missing one to wonder what Mrs Sobad was doing. The log had been signed and returned safely before she resumed her walk.
Thanks. Nice to have another Garin cache.
Thanks. Nice to have another Garin cache.
It was a couple of weeks back that I looked up from my computer in my office to see three people scrabbling around on the ground near Animates.
I know what they're up to, me'thinks, they're looking for the Scratchie Exchange cache (GCY3K5).
Yep, after a good few minutes the three members of the group headed off along Elms Street with purposeful looks on their faces. I wonder if they are now off to try Right There on Elms Street (GC65W0Y), I thought.
So, taking a quick dip out of the office I popped around the corner to see the three of them lying prostrate in search of the next cache.
After watching them struggle for a few minutes I went to offer some help and was surprised to see the cacher elliott13 (who has most of the caches in Brightwater) and two GCing newbies from Garin College.
We chatted briefly before they set on their way, and throughout the morning I saw other groups come and go on their caching journey.
Anyway, the point of this tale is that its great that schools - Garin College in particular it seems - introduce our little game/obsession to some new blood. Long may it continue...
Oh, great cache by the way, although I was glad I was still able to retrieve the cache as I came a little unprepared.

Stopped by to check this cache on my way home this afternoon. Wandered through the school grounds on the way there and down the driveway on the way out. So I saw the very healthy looking plants in the garden - looks 1000 times better than mine! Enjoyed the cache thanks for the additional effort and good luck to the group members as they continue down their chosen path. TFTC #7735
A short detour on my way to the shops this morning brought me to this cache. I came prepared and after overshooting GZ by a few metres, I spotted where the cache would be and the log was quickly signed. TFTC, Biggles.
After last night's Event it was out on the bike this morning to grab this new one before the place got busy. A clever device but no match for a bike with a hydration pack. Well done to those responsible and worth a Favourite.
After a quick dash to Isis58's new cache we saw we'd received news of another new arrival. Well, we were already in caching mode so off we went. Looking at the cache location we were sure we'd be beaten by some of the Richmond crew and Marchwood was our first thought. Haste was needed and a quick stop at the dairy to procure a tool. GPS was spot on for this clever cache and we were delighted and somewhat amazed to secure our second FTF of the morning. We were reminded of a cache across the estuary that we also gave a favourite point to. Thanks Hoosier Kiwi for a neat addition to the neighbourhood!
Saw the new cache come in just after breakfast and it was close to home, so decided to go for a walk and find this well devised cache.
Thought I was muggled, as I retrieved the cache, but it turned out to be B&W, so we signed together and had a bit of a yak. Thanks to B&W for the guidance on another local cache which has been my nemesis...I found that one on the way home.
TFTC a fav for me

Nice it is noted "with permission" as always feel tad uneasy with school caches.
Went to avoid the crowds....busted a crowd of two, Mr and jnr T. Mr added my name to the list of finders.
We both came over prepared.....not "as long and hot" as anticipated.
Nice one and thanks for the cache.

Was on line, having a cup of tea in my pjs when this cache was published. Even though it's a mere 3km from home, I didn't rush out as I was heading out a little later to pick up StreetWalker from the airport and thought that we could look for the cache together on the way home.
Had quite a bit of water with me, but only needed a little to achieve a good outcome. A cache where an extra pair of hands comes in handy . The log book is already a little damp so not sure if it's the result of damp hands or a leaky container. Thanks for the nicely constructed cache.

#10380. We had a lot more water than needed, so even with a bit of initial leakage we had no trouble extracting the cache. TFTC.
Arrived at GZ and it was long before we had the cache in our hands.
Good one
Thank you for the cache

Found This Cache.
Being a student I knew the geocaching grand challenge would place another cache and so I kept my eyes peeled to find it. Didn't realise I was meant to "just add water"
As soon as I was there I knew something was new.
Thanks Hoosier Kiwi and the 2015 Geocaching Grad Challenge!
