GPS had Mrs back and forward until SoBad spotted something out of place. We had driven past the cache we had intended to do in Geraldine so this was the replacement.Thanks.

We finally managed to get away for a week’s holiday after months of lock downs and cancellations to various trips and flights. After landing in Christchurch we headed to Mount Cook to spend a few days exploring the area, doing a few walks and enjoying the dark sky star gazing, as well as exploring lakes and small towns of the Mackenzie country. We also found lots of geocaches which we enjoyed finding. Thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place and maintain these caches.
This was our first cache of the trip, after grabbing lunch at Couplands in Ashburton (the cream buns bring back childhood memories!) we stopped here and after a short search found the cache, unfortunately MrNZT lost his glasses, so we spent more time looking for the glasses than the actual cache, luckily we found them and then were on our way. TFTC!

Day 17, the penultimate day of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm still in catch-up mode)

Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.

Yesterday I had finished up in Tekapo, only to discover that Freedom Camping was so frowned upon (even if you are in a certified self-contained camper) that there is a blanket ban in place across the main township. That forced me to think outside the box, and I ended up parked up on a nearby rural road with a fantastic view of the stars above me. Suffice to say that my rest was fantastic and so I set off on my last full day of touring with a spring in my step, expecting to be back in Chch this evening.

I love driving the roads around here, especially right now as they are generally free of tourists, and so I was happy to break up my journey by pulling over every so often to try for a cache, such as this one.

There was virtually no-one around on a Sunday so I was able to park up close by to GZ and then conduct my search in relative peace. I had no trouble finding the cache, and there were no issues with it so the log was duly signed and the whole lot replaced as found before returning to the campervan and carrying on.

Thanks for placing this cache.

#16763. The 85th and final cache of our weekend trip to Geraldine. Appropriately it was a BCD cache (as were most of the caches we found). Good to get to a nice round 40 for the day. TFTC.

03-Feb-19
This was the last cache find of our weekend in and around Geraldine. We had found 39 caches today, so this brought the tally to a nice round 40. The pivot was doing its thing today - we parked right by it.
Cache was quickly spotted by SW. Now back home to Christchurch. TFTC.

On our 12th day in New Zealand we travelled on from Tekapo to Christchurch. We woke up on a bright, sunny and warm morning. But on the other side of the lake we could already see fog rolling over the hills into the valleys. Up to the first cache for this day it was all sunny but then we drove into the fog and later on even rain. This was also a short stop and a quick find.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

I've started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners
