Thanks for this cache, butchie bum & Max.
It took ages for my phone GPS to settle & I should’ve just used geo-sense, anyway I eventually found it.
I’m on a bit of a GeoTour road trip; have had a pleasant couple of days in Dargaville before heading north.

#11,594. I am making my way back south to Whangarei and the day is starting to run out now. Lucky last for the day. The sun has set now and I am getting hungry. Parked close by and this place was deserted. Had a quick look around at this little station then headed to GZ and found the cache in the first place checked. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks butchie bum and Max for hiding it here.

After a nearby DNF it was nice to walk along to here, get down to business and make the find. Cheers b b and M.

Our last day in the region before heading South today, and back home. Then tomorrow we're off for part 2 of the holidays in Taihape and Palmerston North with our daughter and her family. I wanted to head out Dargaville and Kai Iwi way first before leaving though and added some more kms onto the car's speedo!

Work is finished for the year and it's time to head to Northland for a few days prior to Christmas. Primarily to see our son and his partner and our grandchildren and also a bit of a beach break at the work bach. A good few days away, and a few caches found, thanks to all COs.

On a caching trip to Dargaville to do some cache maintenance and get a few caches along the way. I put a call out on the Auckland Geocachers group to see if anyone would come and keep me company on the drive as it can be a bit of a drag to do a big drive by myself. Fortunately Jag50, Merlot58 and Team Welsh agreed to come so a full car made our way around.

Nice and quick find for Merlot here - I had wandered back to the car to get a replacement logbook as we thought for the logs that it might be full but the last finder or so had replaced it so all good here. Thanks for the cache - quite an interesting spot here.

11-Apr-21
We were thinking we would have to add a new log here but thanks to the previous finders we had a nice new log to sign our names on

Berrydehamster and me are travelling in New Zealand for three weeks. We cross the country from north to south and back again by campervan, see a lot, do a lot, visit lots of places and meet a lot of people. It’s nice to be here and we have a great time.

As both of us are geocachers, we find a lot of caches on our travels. This is one of the caches we found. Thanks for your cache, butchie bum and Max, that helped give us a wonderful time here.

28-Nov-19
NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to New Zealand for 3 weeks. In Auckland we rent a camper. We start on the North island and driving to the south to make the crossing to the South island. Here we make a round and then take the boat back to the North Island. A long trip, but a very beautiful one! We do and see a lot on our way.........…

In addition to being a tourist, we are also going to cache along the way. The virtuals and earth caches are often on tourism places. If we have a long day of traveling, we stop for some caches.
It were great weeks!

After the long hike at Dome Valley on Saturday, I drove up to Dargaville to stay the night. I was too tire to go out when I arrived, so I came here first thing in the morning. I followed my GPSr for a few minutes before I expanded my search and spotted the cache on the fence. TFTC.

Spending a few days in the north moseying around in the camper. One for Mrs S here. Curious obviously the train tracks are not used any more but the station is very well preserved. I guess there is a reason for that somewhere.

Thanks butchie bum and Max.

Stopped off here. The hunt was on here going round this building before finally snagging this elusive one. Cheers
Monday - New Years Eve - day seventeen - Whangarei - Dargarville - Whangarei today in Toby. Zara gets another rest. So lets go exploring!!

Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and William to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

31-Dec-18
Interesting place. Engine sheds made out of containers, yet a full size railway platform. I wonder what the carts here look like? The place seems closed down.

Day seventeen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Taybeedragon and I scooted over from Whangarei this morning, especially to visit the kauri museaum, then back to Dargaville for a sundown event and back back to Whangarei for bed and a sunrise event. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!

Happy new Planetary Orbit from the Seagnoid!

18-Nov-18
Today we had a trip around Dargaville, thereby visiting many locations especially the near Kauri forest, and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long, but it got more and more cloudy in the afternoon.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.

Thanks to 'butchie bum and Max' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'ALL ABOARD (Northland )'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.

Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

05-Aug-18
Left Auckland with Gorby, Lostcourse and 404 about 3am this morning and headed north to do a big loop around the Kaipara and a bunch of rural back-roads before heading home. Lots of great countryside and views, interesting caches, better than expected weather, and great company. We drove past this one earlier but there were muggles about so headed off for some others before coming back. This time the coast was clear and the cache quickly located. TFTC!!!

I am making my way north of Dargaville, this afternoon, to visit my parents. Nice to find some hides along the way as it really helps to break up the trip. I thought I would find a few caches around Dargaville before making the last push towards my ultimate destination. This was my last cache of the day. I parked up near GZ and got to looking. The GPSr was pointing one way, but I followed my nose, instead. This proved a wise choice as I found the hide in the very first spot I checked. Though I had to wonder why there was cattle on the other side of the tracks...anyway cheers for the cache placement!

13-Apr-17
This weekend was a road trip to the Cape. With the large number of kilometres to drive, our first stop was going to be Dargaville. So first it was an event in Rotorua, then Hamilton before getting to the North. Picked up Bruce on way and met Hemi at the event. The rain was fair pouring down and was hoping it might clear as we went.
11.20pm - Went to wrong side at first. SLTFTC

13-Apr-17
Away with Fapandgap and squirrel nutcase from Rotorua after self evacuating the BOP nice quick find here tonight after checking into motorcamp thought we would get a few caches before bed.
Signed log BGH.

13-Apr-17
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH... Come at us Cyclone Cook...

Heading to Northland for Easter... While the latest cyclone was bearing down on the country, we were blissfully heading away from the mayhem. As we got further north, the weather calmed to the point that we began to doubt and question all of the 'reported' hype. At least the dire weather warnings kept sane people at home, and we had a clear run up the motorway...

Time was getting away on us, so Gap decided to bypass any further caches until after we were settled into our accommodation. We stayed in an interesting location. Our room was an old, re purposed shipping container. Once we were sorted, it was back into the night to find some of the local hides...

We were worried that this one might be fenced off. A closer inspection and this one was in hand. TFTC.

12-Apr-17
Got this one pretty quick on our trip around town to collect the caches. Collected just as the "trains" arrived. TFTC

02-Apr-17
Nice wander around a very quiet Dargaville today! Bit of drizzle, then the sun came out and had some power behind it! TFTC.

06-Mar-17
After I've arrived from Auckland, I went into the village to find some caches. When I arrived here, a local was working a little further down the road. That makes me extra careful, because I don't want to spoil anything for others. But I obviously didn't use my stealth mode in the right way, since after just two minutes the local started asking a question in the distance.
"You looking for the cache, mate?" Razz He showed me the right place, so I could sign the log sheet in a blink. It's a nice way to get to know locals!

06-Mar-17
On our way home to Papamoa & just starting to drizzle so caching may get a miss from here on.Easy find, thankyou.

Found after a fun day on the Rail Carting experience along the historic Northern Wairoa River and through farmland. Had a quick look before our tour but no good. After returning Kiwiscot quickly found the hide. Heaps of fun had by all. Would quite happily recommend the experience. If stuck the staff are in the know. TFTC Smile
