Of Which CITO Event # Attended: 12 (7 of which have been hosted by DucInc)
With mrs_sgtzara's rota this New Year working out in our favour, it meant we could spend the New Year away in our Motorhome with Tigra, our 11 year old GSD.
We booked ourselves into Jordanstown Loughshore Caravan Park from NYE > NYD which meant come time to leave on NYD and head to this event, we'd only 2.8km I think it was to travel as the crow flies. Handy or what!
We rocked up pretty early, circ. 10:30hrs to ensure we could get the 'Passion Wagon' parked up then waited for everyone else to arrive. It wasn't long until others started to arrive but unfortunately with them, so did the rain. No matter, we got changed into our waterproofs and put Tigra's wee jacket on too.
By some miracle though, when the Event Organiser arrived, the rain cleared - maybe the power of the biscuit cake goes further than just being able to lure geocachers to CITOs all over the country?
Briefing done and rubbish bags dished out awaiting filling, I went and grabbed our own two new litter-pickers which were making their debut outing today.
Introduced Tigra to Deuce and was delighted that she warmed to him so quickly, well I mean, come on, who couldn't, he's adorable!
Headed up the hill CITO'ing away and thinking to myself what better way than to spend NYD, no hangover, out with mrs_sgtzara and Tigra enjoying the fresh air and giving a wee bit back while having a wee bit of craic too.
The usual assortment of rubbish was gathered up from beer tins, beer bottles, plastic soft drink bottles, soft drink tins, confectionery wrappers, crisp bags, beer bottle tops and some cardboard. It wasn't long until our bags were starting to strain under the weight and so it was time to meander back down the hill to the parking area.
As I walked back down the hill, I looked about and pondered what a great job we'd all done, not a pick of litter about the place.
Once down, I'd a soft drink and one, yes just the one (trying to stay on the bandwagon) slice of biscuit cake, had a bit more chat and posed for the group photo before saying our goodbyes and heading on to do a spot of caching in Antrim before moving onto our chosen Caravan Park for the night.
All in all a great start to NYD, thanks again DucInc for organising, we really appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into getting these set up for us to attend and enjoy.
Signed Event Log and as always, TFTCITO!
Happy New Year to all.
