Found on day one of my Townsville trip. I could certainly feel the warmer climate up here, but some of the views around town are phenomenal, the water is really clear in parts!I was informed by some fellow previous finders of there encounter with a rather large snake when they found this one, and so I approached GZ with caution, but thankfully, (and unsurprisingly) the snake was no longer around. Thanks for the fun!

Forgot to log this one a couple months ago but back and found again. There's my signature. Logged now.

Not sure why I bypassed this one on my last 2 visits to the area, rectified today though. Was a different container to described (systema), and higher than expected too (in the arnco). The TB key was not present when I visited (I don't think ): )


After a small amount of tasks in the morning I managed to score a vehicle for a few hours and my target area was Cape Pallarenda for a couple of desirable Challenge caches and a shot at Townsville's oldest cache in Bowerbird Blue. I was out for about 6 hours and only modest find numbers but a good trip away from Base, and 13kms walked. As always, thanks to all COs.

We had a lovely stroll on our way to find this cache! Great hiding spot for my beginner husband!

After this evening’s event I stopped by here to check on the TB Key. Maybe the last logger visited the incorrect cache because the TB was present and correct and I couldn’t find their name in the log book.

An impromptu trip to Townsville gave me the opportunity to find a few caches.
I came here specifically for the TB to open the TB Key Cache on the Ross River, but when i opened the container it was not there .
Nice views ... disappointing result.

Great little find with the kids

Je profite de mon voyage a travers le monde et de mon temps libre pour faire du Geocaching.

En mode road trip, je sillonne quantité de beaux pays pour découvrir où re-découvrir pleins d'endroits. Des paysages à couper le souffle, de l'histoire, de l'architecture,  de la gastronomie.

Les jours se suivent et ne se ressemblent pas.

Je fais la connaissance de gens vraiment accueillants et sympathiques.

Si je pouvais avoir autant de found-it que de kilomètre au compteur, je serais vraiment ravi.

Je cherche et je trouve toutes sortes de caches sur le chemin de mes pérégrinations.

De toutes les tailles,  de toutes le cotations  et de différents types. Avec des succès,  de la réflexion, des difficultés.  Tout ce qui fait que le GC est vraiment une activité à part. Et qui pour ma part occupe une place importante dans ma vie.

Merci à tous les owners pour leur recherches, le travail qu'ils effectuent, les maintenances.

Of all sizes, of all the quotes and types.  With success, reflection, difficulties.  Anything that makes the GC is really a separate activity.  And that for me is an important part in my life.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 82. Townsville second visit Day 2. After a day off yesterday, I decided to have a bigger day today. I started in the city, then went out to the port region and then headed back around the strand to finish along Pallerang road. Back to urban caching is a challenge, and several DNFs today. I was very happy to find those I was able to and I enjoyed a fantastic pie from a convenience store in Belgian Gardens.

A quick drive by, I did not manage many of those today.

A nice easy find. Description says black tin but was actually a small systema container. No pen with me but have posted a photo.

Found this one during a Tuesday off work. The weather is so lovely this time of year.
Once again forget a pen so enjoy a photo of the systema

My 8th Townsville caching day. After an early start, chamad and myself headed to Pallarenda to collect the AL waypoint and grabbed some caches along the way.
The rain had stopped by now which was better for caching. We arrived at gz and spotted the cache quite quickly. However, the views to Magnetic Island were not so good as it was raining very heavily over there.

I did not think it was possible but we had another fantastic day of caching again today. The plan was to first go for a walk into a tunnel for this cache, grab another while at the start. We then would drive around town and down towards Pallarenda collecting some challenge caches and ones that we both did not have along the way. Thanks for the caches and the puzzles, the caches up in Townsville are on a different level and it inspires me to create and make more fun caches.

All caches that were found today had the logs signed and the caches replaced as found.
The rain had stopped by now which was better for caching. We arrived at gz and spotted the cache quite quickly. However, the views to Magnetic Island were not as good as it was raining very heavily over there.

Day 6 of our Townsville Mega event weekend and sadly we are heading home today. Time for just a few with hevwalker before retuning our hire car and catching our flight home . A quick find here today. TFTC

I am so happy that I attended the Mega (and surrounding events), it was a welcomed change of scenery and I was able to embrace the fresh opportunities that awaited.

I spent time with people special to me and managed to score more cache finds than I had expected! Not having my vehicle or caching TOTTs was tricky, but I took the opportunity when it presented to utilise these from others when available.

This trip to Queensland enabled my 3rd attendance at the GPS adventure maze and attending my 13th Mega.

I had solved some of the puzzles and was helped with others, so being able to collect many of them whilst in the area was great.

Exploring Townsville and surrounds proved interesting, and I also spent plenty of time in the motel room (not planned for) - but I LOVED the air conditioning and the time to chill. Super lucky with the weather (the rain stayed away). Enjoyed lots of good food and conversations.

A fantastic time was had by all.

We signed the log GTU.

Having a fun time but caching a little slower with Team Crackers and Geoturtle37 after attending the Mega. The views were great but that did close in whilst we were there and the water became quite dirty. Thanks for the cache.

After having a fantastic time at the mega we are slowly catching up with logs, today we joined forces with Geoturtle37 and Pspi4506 for a day of caching and sightseeing as the last few days have been very hectic.

Having a great day caching and a bit of sight seeing we spotted this on the map and had to stop. The views were great in the afternoon sun and happily we had the place to ourselves . The cache was located in the most obvious location for a geocacher and we have now entered our names into the log book.

#14163; Day thirteen of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. The plan for our final day in Townsville was to collect some challenge caches, along with some different D/T rated caches, along with solved puzzles and others on our "to do" list. Joined at various times by fitzy_65, minniek and smittengranny as we made our way around today. Collected 2 DNFs on an otherwise successful day. Unless indicated in the log, the cache was found in good order. Apologies for the largely generic logs. TFTC emilywanders
