Took a while to find, grabbed a natural tool to search through plenty of leaf litter. Beautiful old church
It took me a little while to find the right nook but very happy that I did. What a fabulous old church. TFTC.
Reperio 16:44Headed to Bathurst to enjoy half a day of caching in the area, and decided to try and clear out as many inner city caches that I could given today was quiet about the town. This was yet again, a lovely little cemetery which I enjoyed the wander through. Once the numbers were calculated, the cache was found nicely hidden out of sight. I really overcomplicated the search here. Took a lot longer than it should have. It's quite unfortunate to see the grounds being in such an overgrown and dilapidated state without any care being put into it. Still a beautiful church though. TFTC
Quick calculation to find GZ. Was just about to give up the search when I spied something out of place. TFTC.

Driving the back-roads to Canberra today, we managed a mixed bag of 46, including 15 labs and 8 GA goodies. Great scenery and some historic locations down here, its worth the drive.
We like single stage multis, especially in nice spots like this. The cache was tricky to find, I spotted on the way back to the church from the tree. TFTC!

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went for a drive down to Perthville & Georges Plains, stopping off at The Junktion tip shop at Orton, then returning to Bathurst via Cow Flat Road, Gestingthorpe Road, O'Regans Road, Lagoon Road, and Gormans Hill Road, collecting caches along the way. Also took a short detour down Hollis Lane for a few caches. This was the 7th of 20 finds for the day (day 7), and 127th find of the holiday.
We had an enjoyable wander around the church grounds and cemetery, gathering the required information, and then visiting final GZ for the find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. It's an interesting old church, with it's stone walls and corrugated iron roof, but such a pity most of the windows are missing (vandalised?). TFTC Joshwa27.

Winter 2020 trip to Bathurst. Day 2. I joined forces with Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for another visit to Bathurst and the surrounding area to visit new caches and try to find caches we have all managed to not find on previous visits. It was an overwhelmingly successful trip where we all managed to find some nemesis caches that stretch back several years and many trips to the region. Despite the cold we camped each night and had a most enjoyable weekend now we are allowed out to roam a bit further.
This is another area cache I have failed to locate in the past. Today it was in one of the spots I have looked before, so I am glad it was in place today.
Thanks for the cache Joshwa27

With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.
This sure is a creepy looking church building from a distance! Wandered around observing the cemetery and church before searching for the cache. After an extensive search, it was determined the cache is indeed missing. We have placed a camo container down for the CO and communicated through to them. Will remove log if CO requests.
Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others

With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild.
We hit the road early and resisted the urge to stop along way. We decided to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area. We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure.
Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.

No trouble calculating the coordinates and GZ was quickly found, but after an extensive search I admitted defeat ... maybe my cache spotting glasses need a clean.
Got the right coordinates fairly quickly but then spent over half hour looking all around the structure. Even in the tiniest of gaps. I must be missing somewhere I looked.
Signed CGG19 with Group.. We enjoy drive everywhere and good Laugh... She is very good drive with 4WD.... thanks
Day 2 of our wonderful weekend caching adventure ...
A plan was hatched, for a group of Canberra (and one Goulburn) Geocachers to stay overnight in Bathurst on a Saturday night and cache our way there and back - mainly doing some of The Road Less Travelled series, and anything else interesting that we were near. So, on Friday afternoon All7 and I met up with Cosmonaut97, who drove us out to Goulburn where we stayed the night with MinnieK (thanks for the hospitality), and then DarkSideDan arrived in the morning and we crammed all our gear into the back of the Cosmonaut Geomobile, all 5 of us climbed in, and we embarked upon our adventure - and what a fun weekend we had! Lots of laughs, some interesting terrain to drive through, and a whole lot of cache finds - so, sorry - most of these logs will be rather generic ... (and also rather late, because I am only just catching up with all the logging now - oops)
Logs were signed as CGG19 by at least a couple of people, or possibly CGC19 by me, because that is what I have written in my notebook (except for the first one I signed, which I think I signed GGC19) ... so I guess our group name was Canberra Goulburn Geocachers, or Canberra Goulburn Cachers, or whatever else anyone else signed - lol)
TFTC - I didn't write draft logs for any of these, because it was too difficult to keep up with that as we went ... and with all the caches we found this weekend - in most cases I don't remember which bit of fun was which particular cache. I did write a few words in my note book for some of them, so I will include those below if I did.
(Unfortunately, if I don't just copy and paste the same log for all these, and try to go through my photos or something, or read the listing and get creative, to figure out different things to write, I will never be able to catch up with my logging, and I don't like being behind).
Our first answer pointed us to a guy in a swag in a front yard ... luckily that answer was wrong - once we used the correct number we were pointed in the right direction

This cache was find #3 on day 2 of our epic caching weekend. There was four wheel driving, reversing, some 'let's go down this way'....only to turn around (or reverse) the way we had just come. A big thank you to all of the COs along here. It was a lot of fun and I had the pleasure of DarkSideDan, MinnieK, AyKayEm and ALL7 for this adventure. TFTC.
Greetings from DARKSIDEDAN.
Today I went on a caching trip with minniek, Cosmanaut97, ALL7 & Aykayem. We managed to get about 165 caches in two days. Your cache was one of the 165 caches that I signed CGG19 as part of our group signature for the five of us in our group. We saw loads of wildlife on our trip including 6 Wombats and loads of Roos. There is nothing more that I enjoy more than finding a cache.
Here is a little about me. At the time of this “Found It” log I have over 6750 finds and 350 Hides. I was the creator of the “Ducky Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Prize in the State Vs State Battle of the Labs during the OzGeoMuster – The Gong 2019. I am the owner of the largest GeoArt Series in the ACT and winner of countless Geocaching Prizes.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
* * * * I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the 20th of April 2019 my average is 110 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average up. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After more than 5500 aches (which includes all cache finds up and including today I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated. * * * * *

Day Two saw us heading south to join TRLT where I had previously left off and any others along the way. Thank you to all CO's for their efforts in placing and maintaining the caches for others to find.
Originally got one set of coords wrong but a quick look over our workings soon had us on the right track. Fairly quick find when at GZ.

Today we are travelling from Goulburn to Bathurst and doing the caches along the way. The weather was fine and windy, however we hit the road running. Found various caches of various types and sizes. Due to the number we found, I have done a genereic log. Thank you. TFTC.
Another quaint olde cemetery.
This time with an olde church
It doesn't look like the church has seen business for a while though [:o]
A short stroll around the stones and I had a set of numbers.
Those numbers gave me a GZ located in the front yard of the nearby house
Another short stroll, and some careful reading,
and I found the error of my ways
After that the cache was a quick find

Australia Day 2019, what else to do then your favourite hobby! We decided ( together with J+J.AU) to tackle another part of the TRLT track this weekend with Bathurst as our base to work from. A very warm day today, but that didn't hold ua back.

It was time for a big weekend caching, so I was joined by Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for two days to tackle the new TRLT caches just East of Bathurst, This part of the trip went smoothly. I also managed to squeeze in a few more on the day after whilst traveling between the rain on Monday.
I have tried for this one before and I was happy to see it had been replaced. However, I did not manage to find it today. I hope it was there somewhere.
Thanks.

Thankfully this was another quick and easy multi. Found the right graves and did the calculations to get the new GZ. No problem finding the hidden container, doing the necessary duties and replacing it all as it had been found. We are happy to tick another Joshwa27 cache off our "to do" list. Thanks for placing so many caches in country areas.
I had difficulty last time, as there are apparently two grave sites of the same name. Thanx to some help from a previous finder, It was just a case of looking a little harder than last time. TFTC
I had time for a quick detour here. Thought I wouldn’t find it again as I couldn’t find a spot for a small. Eventually uncovered the new micro container. The listing needs an update but thanks for replacing it. It is a lovely old church and cemetery.

I thought I got the right numbers, but the GPS wanted me across the road and up into private property. I was going to recheck the numbers, but it was below zero and I was just too cold. Back soon.
Our only DNF of the weekend targeting 16 Joshwa27 caches!
A lovely walk around the cemetery to find the information and then off to GZ.
Despite having two previous finders with me, we could find this on other side. The likely spot, as remembered by the other two, was empty despite turning over every possible piece of camo.
Might pay to check it.

Hill End and Mudgee weekend April 2018. I set out late on Thursday after a small car battery issue. I only stopped once before a night at Bummeroo ford. Friday took me to Orange via many spread out caches between Oberon and Bathurst. I spent the night at Macquarie woods. Saturday started foggy and then warmed up. I was heading to Hill end, and did make it, but I had to give up on the Bridle track due to a rockfall. Late in the evening I did find a spot along the Turon river and the very bumpy northern section of the Bridle trail. Sunday had me finishing the TRLT trail from Mudgee to Gulgong and a few missed ones in the middle of nowhere. The last day was a simple drive home from Sofala. A great weekend !
After collecting the required information I spent way too long searching here. There seemed a few promising spots, but if it is there it was too good for me.
Thanks.

Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching. Day 2 of our 4 day rd trip. Shame about the weather but it wont stop the keen cachers. Thankyou for the cache
Got the co-ords but phone would not settle and jumped massively so split up and used a our caching senses to find it. Tftc.
This did not take too long to complete, the church even sheltered us from the howling winds for a while. Great history here...
Hi there Joshwa27.
We found your cache **"Georges Plains Church and Cemetery"** at 12:30:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17950).
We cached in the countryside around Bathurst. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of micro and small container types hidden along the way.
Today we found 21 caches (& DNF'd 6). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

My last cache for 2016!
We found the graves here more easily than a previous multi. However, in my haste I read the wife's age as the husband's age and then had a set of coordinates that wanted to send us into private property. We realised I'd made a mistake and returned to the grave where we reworked our calculations. This time the answer made more sense. We wandered over to the place where I redeemed myself by making an instant find. Thanks

What a pity this building is such a bad state, it's such a lovely old building. We found the graves we needed easily this time, and after a brief hiccup in our calculations, made a quick find.

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Day 2 of our caching trip and we were out on the roads again. We headed to Oberon and some of the back roads around Bathurst before getting a few more caches in Bathurst. By days end we’d put a good dint in our "beyond the Great Divide" so decided to head for home. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!
What a great place!

There's something special about cemeteries at night..... Especially by moonlight.

10937. Found during a slightly delayed two day Queens Birthday long weekend run up through the Cowra region.
With so many new caches up this way I headed off early this morning loaded up with many solved puzzles and also with a few Multis in my sights as well. About 2 and 1/2 hours after leaving Canberra I arrived in the area and started caching. This was the next one on my list. Having pre solved this one it was a quick find in a lovely location. Signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks again Joshwa27 !!

Next stop on our hunt for some new caches. It helps when you can add basic numbers and can read your own writing.
I was all over the place and had even looked at the cache area and thought that would be a good spot. When I sorted myself out it turned out it was. Finally got there in the end and happy again with the blank log and the *FTF* The trip is going well.
