We are on our way to Maldon for a two nights to allow us to travel on the Victorian Goldfields Railway - and the steam train, J549, is back in operation. Apologies for some generic log as most of the finds for this series were straightforward. Thanks to Saint.Anthony for the cache.
Found it quickly with excellent coordinates. Watch out for the prickly bush which is starting to take over. TFTC!
This was an easy find but a difficult retrieval due to the overly pickly tree at GZ. Never seen thorns so big! Signed the log and returned it. Tftc
Quick find here today, cache is all goodThis week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
Really Enjoying Seeing How Many Mines Are Around Creswick And The History Here TFTC
Now in Ballarat and enjoying the new home, just not all the unpacking, so headed up this way to grab a few more caches in the area. Managed to grab another 10 before the need to head back and continue to free up a few more boxes.
Found the cache ok however the log was soaked. Replaced it with a new one in a zip lock bag so all should be good for a while.
Thanks again for the historical series Saint.Anthony....

Found with PapaGrouch. Continuing our drive in the cooler evening and found this one. Spotted GZ and looked all around and didn't spot anything, then raised my eyes and it came into view. TFTC

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks Saint.Anthony (F=3902 H=193) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

After having a great time at the Ballan Birthday event we joined forces with micaparamedic and headed to Creswick to try our luck at a few multi's as we are trying to build up multi numbers this year and collecting other nearby caches as well including puzzles we have solved.
As we were going close to No 13 & !4 we thought that we should make a start on this series even if it was only two of them. Having done a bit of prospecting over the west and up north we always enjoy a bit of history about gold and the different way it has changed this country and peoples lives and these cache pages showed that. They are very informative recalls of the times.
This was another quick find and we added our names to the log before repalcing everything as we found it.
Thanks again Saint Anthony for the cache.

Checked the container and had to dry the log. Replaced log with new ziplock plastic bag. All good to go!
A much faster find after returning from the multiple attempts at a previous cache. Thanks for the hides and trails Saint Anthony
Omegaman1971
It was great to be back in the area caching and catching up my buddy Rebel Acts.
So many new caches online around Ballarat and Creswick since the last time I was up this way, and awesome to see some lab caches here as well.
Cheers Saint Anthony for the caches and the fun weekend

I had a few days off so plans were made to catch up with omegaman1971 and do some caching around the Ballarat and Creswick areas, We had a great time finding caches in the area and learning about the history of the region. The weather was a little cold but bearable.
Thanks Saint.Anthony for the cache.
Thanks Saint.Anthony for the cache.
On a day trip to Creswick and beyond to explore the area and of course to Cache our way around .
A cache to tell the story of history with great cache notes .
There are so many mines in this area and wonder where the nearest piece of gold is .
Great work in publishing this series which is much appreciated.

started my day off by attending the Ballarat Breakfast event and continued Northish to find some more. Spotted a bunch of caches to be found in this area so I went to work to find as many as I could. TFTC.
Heading to St. Arnaud for the mega event. Day 70 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 31 for the day and 1967 for the trip. TFTC
A clever hide. After a short search soon had it in hand.
Signed and replaced. TFTC.

A day out caching in the van with Geodog Penny and FUF009.
Having found all the gems for the 'Mystery at the Museum', our goal for today was to find caches so we could open the vault. We headed down to north of Creswick where there have been a few more caches added to the map since we were last there.
An interesting area with all the mines around. Most were quick finds, some took a bit longer. For the day we were able to fulfill the next task for the game - needing 35 caches to open the vault. We managed a total of 36 plus one DNF.
We were lucky with the day, no rain but rather cold. With all the wet weather lately it was wet and muddy underfoot. Penny enjoyed herself walking through puddles which meant we ended up with a wet dog in the van and a rather muddy blanket. But we all enjoyed ourselves.

Decided I would go grab this one after work. Was a nice quick find. Thanks for the cache
On a rare day where both the jiwilly's have the day off and no children, we attempted a few more on the search for this series. This one was the first of a few we found today. Log book is full and will need to be replaced soon but otherwise is good condition. TFTC, TNLNSL, CIGC
Visiting get daughter from Qld. This is the first days since I arrived that there hasn’t been any rain. It’s nice to get out and find a few caches.
Newstead Day 3
Todays trip was around the mining area as far south as Creswick. We came accross some amazing caches & locations, a really enjoyable day.
The weather started quite bad, rain jackets & beanies to keep warm. The unsealed roads were good to drive on as we kriss cossed the country side. Learnin a little about the area as we went.

Out for the day caching with barnes86 having a wonderful time. Hoping to cover some ground today and up our numbers. TFTC
Out for the day with the Meadows gang on our regular school holiday caching
About here the kids figured out they could run in ahead and leave the parents behind to re-hide the cache and do the boring logging type stuff.
Thanks for the cache Saint Anthony

Picked up a few from this series on a day out caching with Dive Wombat and the 7 kids. Thanks for the cache.
From some of the higher points on the mines tour,
the area is peppered with these tailings mounds !!

We have already covered several of this mine series over the previous couple of days and were amazed at how many old mine sites there are around Creswick. After the weather cleared today we decided to see how maqny more we could add to our list. We appreciate the amount of work put in to place this lot and show us the mining history of Creswick. TFTC.
Today we head to Melbourne. I was up early again before we left, and made one last foray out this way to see how many more caches I could find. I’m getting to know the road between Creswick and Daylesford pretty well by now. Thanks for the time spent setting up the CDLGM series, I enjoyed looking for them and finding them (most of them) and seeing the surrounding countryside as well. Cheers and TFTC
Found by Team Ladava on a day out in the Creswick area.

Our thanks to Saint.Anthony for the cache and bringing us to this location.
Locations like this are 'the icing on the cake' of Geocaching with the locals hosting us anonymously to their favourite spots.
A lot of work has gone into laying out this informative and entertaining series.
Overall Experience: 3
Cache condition – fine but a new log sheet will be required soon

Away for a long weekend of caching with Freddo and Four Fun.
Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.
The main target of our mission was to finish off the Mt Disappointment series. We achieved our target along with other caches as we headed east and then west.
My apologies for the generic logs.

Away for an extended long weekend of caching with Freddo and Team Waldron.
The main target was the Dad's Driving Series, and it was definately a fun exercise collecting the series but with that completed we focused on some other caches and making our way back to SA, very slowly [^]
This was one of the fun stops along the way
Cheers & TFTH Saint.Anthony

Logging a find as part of the 4FW crew for this interesting series. A lot of work has gone into putting this series together. All caches were found and logged on a beautiful day.
Though this was quick once spotted the compass was unusually jumpy here. which makes me appreciate what a great run we have had today.

Out today on a road trip with Mrs Papi4506 & 4B Ninjas.
I spotted this one.

After doing my tax in Ballarat, the plan was to do some shopping before taking our time to cache our way to Castlemaine to pick up chan02. Unfortunately my company (4 year old niece) was not feeling well and travel sickness got the better of her. Four times.
As a result, my caching.shopping day was aborted but did manage to grab a couple of quickies once the 4 year old was asleep. TFTC Saint.Anthony

Another wonderful day spent in the company of Bushfire. Back again in this area but with much kinder weather than the other day when the temperature only struggled to 4 degrees. We came armed with a formidable list of caches and managed to find most of them with only 1 DNF finishing with a respectable tally. The mullock heaps are quite varied in the types of spoil that is evident TFTC Saint Anthony
Cache up here last Wednesday when the temperature was hovering around four degrees and this morning was not much warmer if you looked at the puddles that we drove through as they were covered in ice.
Again I am caching with au.fait and we had a wonderful day changing lots of caches into smiley faces.
We only stopped for a cuppa and some nibbles during the day and completed all the caches that were on our list in this area.
Dinner and a beer and wine was had at Buninyong on out way back to Geelong at the local on the corner. Great meal but pays to be early.
Creswick is looking a happier place now with all these new smiley faces looking at me.
All caches were signed with au.fait and BF.
It is difficult for us to come to terms of the hardships that these miners faced.
We had a look for this guy a couple of days ago in the dark but very easy in daylight.
Thanks to Saint.Anthony for placing and maintaining this cache.

Good mullock heap here. Cache easily seen due to it not having been covered. Made sure it was well rehidden.

With no work on today, and a spectacular lack of inclination toward any of the number of chores I should be doing, I've snuck out instead to get the rest of the deep lead mine caches. I still find these traces of our history fascinating despite how many I visit. Thanks
The third day in Ballarat and surrounds with BettyBoo3747.
Today we went to Creswick and tackled the CBRR and CDLGM series and any others we passed. We then travelled across to Mt Beckworth for a few challenges.
We had read about the mines north of Creswick, but until you travel around and look at all the locations I don't think we really grasped the size of the operations.
Interesting descriptions of the mines, thanks for than.
Most of the caches were in good condition (BB listed maintenance)
Thanks for an interesting afternoon, Robmc.
