Logs
We are on our way to Maldon for a two nights to allow us to travel on the Victorian Goldfields Railway - and the steam train, J549, is back in operation. Apologies for some generic log as most of the finds for this series were straightforward. Thanks to Saint.Anthony for the cache.
Chasing caches on a lovely sunny Saturday, Thanks for the CDLGM series Saint Anthony. SL TN LN
Quick find here today, cache is all goodThis week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
Making new friends ️ Really Enjoying Seeing How Many Mines Are Around Creswick And The History Here TFTC
Now in Ballarat and enjoying the new home, just not all the unpacking, so headed up this way to grab a few more caches in the area. Managed to grab another 10 before the need to head back and continue to free up a few more boxes. No issues with this one and the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.
Thanks again for the historical series Saint.Anthony....

So good to be caching and doing some gold detecting. The country side is looking green and lush and the canola fields are spectacular

I had a few days off so plans were made to catch up with omegaman1971 and do some caching around the Ballarat and Creswick areas, We had a great time finding caches in the area and learning about the history of the region. The weather was a little cold but bearable.
Thanks Saint.Anthony for the cache.

started my day off by attending the Ballarat Breakfast event and continued Northish to find some more. Spotted a bunch of caches to be found in this area so I went to work to find as many as I could. TFTC.
Heading to St. Arnaud for the mega event. Day 70 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 32 for the day and 1968 for the trip. TFTC
Find No. 2749. Found at 2.52pm.
A day out caching in the van with Geodog Penny and FUF009.
Having found all the gems for the 'Mystery at the Museum', our goal for today was to find caches so we could open the vault. We headed down to north of Creswick where there have been a few more caches added to the map since we were last there.
An interesting area with all the mines around. Most were quick finds, some took a bit longer. For the day we were able to fulfill the next task for the game - needing 35 caches to open the vault. We managed a total of 36 plus one DNF.
We were lucky with the day, no rain but rather cold. With all the wet weather lately it was wet and muddy underfoot. Penny enjoyed herself walking through puddles which meant we ended up with a wet dog in the van and a rather muddy blanket. But we all enjoyed ourselves.

Grabbing some caches to fulfill the Mystery challenge and had this one on the list. Great sized cache! Thanks for bringing us here Saint.Anthony! TFTC, TNLNSL, CIGC
Visiting get daughter from Qld. This is the first days since I arrived that there hasn’t been any rain. It’s nice to get out and find a few caches. Thanks for the hide.
Newstead Day 3
Todays trip was around the mining area as far south as Creswick. We came accross some amazing caches & locations, a really enjoyable day.
The weather started quite bad, rain jackets & beanies to keep warm. The unsealed roads were good to drive on as we kriss cossed the country side. Learnin a little about the area as we went.

Heading to Sulky to catch up with friends for dinner, we (neisha07, boo09 & muggle husband) detoured to grab a few more of these caches. The XR6 doesn't love these road but no worries with the newly acquired Prado.
A nice quick find here by neisha07. TFTC Saint.Anthony

We have already covered several of this mine series over the previous couple of days and were amazed at how many old mine sites there are around Creswick. After the weather cleared today we decided to see how maqny more we could add to our list. We appreciate the amount of work put in to place this lot and show us the mining history of Creswick. TFTC.
Today we head to Melbourne. I was up early again before we left, and made one last foray out this way to see how many more caches I could find. I’m getting to know the road between Creswick and Daylesford pretty well by now. Thanks for the time spent setting up the CDLGM series, I enjoyed looking for them and finding them (most of them) and seeing the surrounding countryside as well. Cheers and TFTC
We will add our name to the list of DNF’s for this one.
No luck today although the potential for a deviously hide is there so we probably just missed it.

Was thinking of giving up on this one when perseverance paid off and 4BN found the cache. The tree was scheming against us by helping hide it. Thanks for the cache.
Yeah …. what is that tree? It had me all over it when we weren't too sure what we were looking for because there was nothing really obvious, was it a bison? A micro? A larger one? Once it was in our hands we were …. well wouldn't that have been embarrassing if we didn't find that. Nature had given it a helping hand. Nice to have variety.

Out today on a road trip with Mrs Papi4506 & 4B Ninjas.
This one took way longer than it should have. Found partially buried.
Cheers Saint.Anthony

We were one of a number of DNFs on this cache almost exactly two years ago (and it had turned out that the cache was there all along). Today we were able to search and turn this frown upside down. TFTC and for the tour of the mines Saint.Anthony.
Another wonderful day spent in the company of Bushfire. Back again in this area but with much kinder weather than the other day when the temperature only struggled to 4 degrees. We came armed with a formidable list of caches and managed to find most of them with only 1 DNF finishing with a respectable tally. Still more mines and so many that appear to be owned by the same companies TFTC Saint Anthony
