Logs
Found it in the tree after a shot search. Needs maintenance, because the container is missing the lid and the contents are wet
A difficult climb, not as agile as I once was. The container has lost its lid and contents including log very wet. Signed but not clearly as pen didn't like the wet paper
This click container does not have a lid on it and contents are wet and dislodged. I was unable to reach any further into it hiding place to retrieve.
A lovely walk through the reserve. Unfortunately some muggle has graffitied the boiler. TFTC
Found with the Kamo Brownies and Pippins on a evening walk. It was far to high for any of our girls so up I climbed.
From the last few logs it sounds like the cache hide has been moved as the comments indicate that the cache is no longer at ground level. I will make a trip to the GZ over the next few weeks to check on both this cache and my Weta Workshop cache.
Thanks to everyone who has provided such informative logs and for searching for my caches.

Continued down this lovely wide well maintained track.
Really easy walk....
Pretty easy find here thanks to hint....Great to see the old boiler as well as the Guardian.
When we got the third one at the bottom and had to walk back up I was a bit "Outta Steam" myself once or twice!

Found this one about a year ago but forgot to log it as we were too excited to go see the tunnels around the corner, it has been signed by us. TFTC
Awesome walk, wasn't expecting much of a track but pleasantly surprised. Tftc
I had to pick up one of my older children from the bus today so the younger ones and I had an adventure beforehand. We headed up Hurupaki mountain and found a couple of caches there that I hadn't got last time I was in the area. We found a sign on the trig saying Private Property and to not go any further. I was a bit disappointed as I was keen to get a view over the scoria quarry. Headed back down and explored the Onoke Reserve. Loved some of the big totara and puriri trees in here. GZ was cool. Took several photos and the kids enjoyed climbing all over the old boiler. Cool to see the tree grown around bits of metal railway tracks. The cache was well hidden and I missed it first time round. Definitely a fun place to explore, TFTC
Visited to pick up the trackables so that I can move them on for this month's souvenir.
Had a revisit to this lovely spot. couldn't resist stopping by the cache and dropping of some travel bugs.
Haven't been here in a few years, use to explore this bush as a kid with my best mate, bit of a shame someone's clearing a big track. Only need a small one. Tftc
We've driven past the reserve many times but had no idea what was there, if anything. So we were stoked to find we could go walking and exploring. Sure its a little overgrown in places, but the history is clear to see. The track down to the boiler is a little slippery right now but we got there. Serves us right for going on a wet weekend! Thanks for putting the caches here, we'd never have stopped to explore otherwise.
Love finding these old machines and the history that goes with them. Thanks for bringing us here
These bush type walks to caches are awesome and it's great that they reveal the old historic relics ...thanks hotrodpete for another great placement great cache
Lived in Kamo for over 20 years and never been in Onoke Reserve before,..!!! This evening, thanks to the CO, I now have and there is some real interesting stuff there. I will definitely be back to explore some more. Getting a bit dark in the bush, so will try for Weta Workshop another day.
Thank you for the parking and trailhead co-ords.
I took a little detour to Weta workshop, so went to the right by the big tree with the ladders at its base. Turned out to be a dead end, so bush bashed a little (I was following a sort of path, so will not be the first or last taking this route) and found myself joining a cleared incline, that took me down to this cache
The GPS bounced around a bit at GZ, but used the hint and went straight to the hide. Loved the old boiler, left the camera in the car so no pictures! Thanks for the hide, the history and bringing me here.

Impressive piece of machinery from yesteryear just sitting there in the middle of the bush.Looks like quite a bit of work has gone into clearing the track and fighting back the ginger infestation.
Found the cache with ease and enjoyed the walk.

Found it, easy find, thanks for the clue, what an amazing place in my backyard, didn't know it existed, great afternoon walk
I'm back in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and, after eating too much on Xmas Day, decided to go out on Boxing Day afternoon for a few short walks and to find a few caches. This was the first cache of the afternoon, which I headed into Onoke Reserve to find before heading up Hurupaki Mountain. On arrival at GZ I soon found the cache before checking out the old boiler. A nice short walk and an interesting area - TFTC!

FTF Quick stop by on the way to families. Knew the way through the track from the bottom so we headed up. Got to Gz to find the boiler. Took a few mins to locate the cache. Not as high as I was expecting. Great to have another find for Christmas.
Have long wondered about this reserve but didn't know if there were any tracks or how to access... awesome to find there is indeed, so Thanks for the cache & showing us! I didn't expect a FTF as I only decided to go for a stroll in the afternoon , so wasn't surprised to see a car already parked up. Sure enough, it was Minimaxy who had dropped R5 off at the other side for a run & bushbash. Us gals preferred to take the more sensible approach [ :p], from the carpark & marked trailhead. So I stubbornly headed to the trailhead waypoint but the coords led me astray ( might need checking? actually, my phone's GPS must have been off! it looks good on Google maps ) to what looked like the edge of private property... so then followed MM; her good caching sense & sharp eyes had spotted an orange marker just across & up the gravel path from the carpark, where we found a small track in to the bush & just as we were making our way in, out popped R5. So, got beaten to the FTF by R5 & MM, but actually chuffed as we all know how R5 loves his FTFs & Christmas!! so hopefully that made his caching day
*<| :o)> hohoho! Merry Christmas to all . Oh... also added a geocoin!
