Find 13 of 23 on a beautiful day out around Toodyay and Northam, making a start on the map before next weekend's IGD festivities! Not the easiest to get to by car - we are usually on bikes and this would have been a breeze - but we parked somewhere near enough and walked in, using the desire lines provided by people that don't walk to walk any further than necessary! The cache container was absolutely the best example of a home made maze that we have come across and well deserving of a favourite point. Whoever left a rock near to the cache - that was also appreciated, as the hiding spot needed some persuasion to give up the goods. TFTC Bristag!
Excellent cache! We encountered a larger version of this type of puzzler before at Alstonville NSW, but still find enjoyment when we're presented with it again. Thank you and here's a FP.
Great puzzle. Loved the work that’s gone into this one. Fav point for sure. With sbirgert. Opened in about 2 minutes.
Overnighter in Northam ahead of the Maker event today. Headed out early this morning to find breakfast and a few caches before the main event. A beautiful crisp and foggy morning to explore Northam! This was one of the caches I stopped off at. Attracted by the high fave ratings I was keen to give this one a try! Container was easily found of course and after a few minutes of fiddling I was signing the log. Very well made, and you are right, watch where you have been! Great field puzzle - have another fave All ok here today - TFTC
We had a little trouble navigating our way around the lock, but found the tube with relative ease, tftc!
It has been on my list long time. Today was good day to go check this cache out. I have seen similar one before so got idea straight away. TFTH
Either I or children really liked being on the bridge... big truck are so scary.

What an awesome find was good watching jme getting frustrated hahahaha thank you
Best one of this style I’ve seen, so well made. Took us a while to work out how to approach and then we read the description. Fav point for sure
Being eyeing this one for a while and today was the day. Hit GZ and need a rock to dislodge the cover. Cache in hand and the next frustrating 5 minutes had me swearing and glad for quiet GZ. Eventually had it open.
Excellent version and the hardest I have come across. A fav and TFTC

Day 2 of WAGB22 week, and went to finish the GG Series in Northam and cleaned up the town of Northam, then cached to Toodyay and made a huge dent in that town.
Made 51 finds in total with 1 DNF today.
Thanks to all the CO’s for placing maintaining their hides.

Another awesome field puzzle bristag. In perfect condition too. I made the find quickly - it was a longer story to remove the log and even longer to put it back together. Loved it! Heres a well deserved fav point
This is my 681 find.
Thank you Bristag for placing and maintaining this cache.
Never trust a hungry dog to watch you food- unknown wise person.
Had a couple of ideas of what might be required here and bought TOTT just in case.
Once we got to GZ the container was located and in hand quickly, no TOTT needed so what’s the trick here?
A quick inspection of the container gave me the answer I was looking for and I spent a couple of minutes working the logbook out of its spot for signing.
Have seen a couple of this type of puzzle about and I have to say this is one of the better constructed examples.
A favourite coming for a great cache.

Road trip day with SirFancy and Mr’s Z & T.
We headed off early this morning with our goal to grab some Wheatbelt labs and whatever else we came across.
We started off in Beverley before stopping for lunch in York. Finally it was off for an afternoon around Northam before turning from home.
From the snores coming from the others in the car I’d say it was a fairly tiring day but we were happy to come away with 15 labs, 5 finds and 1 DNF for the day.

Thanks Bristag for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 3119 for me.

BRILLIANCE! Cut under the bridge on foot first with very low water to beat the dark (over to get back to the camper again). I'd say it took me over 2 minutes. Plenty of room for more swag donations . Will follow more of these caches and open to any suggestions on other builders of this sort while I travel. TFTFC
A great cache here and a fave point from us!
We had a trip planned for this neck of the woods in March but the ‘Rona virus put a halt to that and we have only just got around to booking some free time to get away from home. This cache was one we targeted for our two day mini-adventure, cheers and TFTC.
G’day there Bristag, I was in this area today and found your cache Dorntj Koorliny - Avon View GC68QJP. I added my name to the log book at 2:37 pm on 7 October 2020. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

Yes easy find. Then we were amazed by the handiwork to make the cache. Took about 1 and half minutes to open. Thanks for a great cache.
A very clever cache and how talented you are to make it, so a fav point coming your way tftc
Wow, what a cache. Took a good 10 mins to open it and about as long to replace. I really appreciate the time you've put into making this cache. Fave point of course. TFTC
Great cache. The craftsmanship is very much appreciated. Tftc. With familysteiner and neva2old
We found a driveable route to within 80m of the cache, which was quickly found by Miss Kapelula. Then we all had a try at retrieving the log......abley assisted by little miss I C Nothing. My husband refers to me as Little Miss Impatient, so you can imagine that my contribution was brief & generally unsuccessful. That does not stop me from admiring the craftsmanship that went into this creation. TFTC Bristag, have a favourite.
Found and opened quickly by rainbow Scjaz who has a knack for these. Thank you again, we appreciate the effort you have put in to place these caches for us to find.
Found the cache no problem, getting the log out took a bit of time! Finally got it out and signed. Thanks for the awesome puzzle. In Northam for WAGB 2019.
Our last cache we found for today before leaving Northam, was one of our most memorable! We had missed it on our way to other caches as we didn’t want to stop on the bypass, so after reading that we could park below we made our way up to the cache! At gz we made the easy find and set about the task of solving the puzzle! Once we worked out how it was going to open and where we needed to go we soon had the logbook in hand! Such a clever build design, and a lovely location! This cache is a must for anyone coming through the area! Fav point awarded! Tftc!
Loved this cache. Thanks for your effort and look forward to doing more. Tftc guys
So out on another Geocaching weekender with Spatial Riq, this time off to the Northam for the 2019 WAGB. Great weekend picking up nearly 70 Caches over the two days. A great variety in the area....
Took a while to navigate our way to the cache, great hide and cache, have a FAV point

After doing the Northam bypass we set our eyes on this cache. It was a lovely walk which we all enjoyed. Retrieving the cache was easy but getting the log tested our patience. Luckily enough the geohubby was with us and he had the log in hand after a few minutes. Great cache, so glad we got out of bed early for this.
Couldn't come to Northam with out visiting this Bristag cache. Loved it Ian! TFTC
Geobuddy marke8183 picked me up from home at about 6am to head out to the Northam area for WAGB weekend. After registering, we teamed up with SeabreezeOZ and headed over towards Toodyay to do the Adventure Lab cache and a few others along the way. We found this one once back in Northam after that little jaunt. Great cache here - really enjoyed finding and solving the puzzle. It was one of about 80 smileys for the weekend. Thanks to all the CO's who contributed to a great weekend of caching. Cheers Bristag.
In Northam for the WA Goes Big Event
We had gone to Toodyay in the morning to find a Lab cache
My caching companions wanted to grab some more caches but I decided to head back to Northam to grab some lunch and agreed to catch up later
On the way back I decided to take the scenic route, turning off the Northam - Toodyay Rd at Katrine road. There were a few nearby caches here but I decided to give them a miss for another time and continued on towards Northam
I did notice a few RVs parked by the river and looked on Wikicamps to see that it was a popular campsite, something to keep in mind when I come back this way
The drive along Katrine road was a pleasant drive through the countryside, there were several caches along the way but decided to leave them for another time
When I was passing under the Gt Eastern Hwy bridge crossing the river there were a few cars stopped here. I suspected that they would be geocachers looking for something nearby
I pulled over and saw that they were walking in the middle of the river bed, which was mostly dry luckily, and heading for the other side
It seemed a little strange but I jumped out and rushed over to join them. So with Team Balstholm, Jam1511 and Team Outnabout we bush bashed across to the other side of the river and up the embankment to GZ
I quickly spotted the hide and retrieved the container. The tricky puzzle took a bit of work but using the hint I was able to navigate a track to get it open
What a clever creation, I just wish I had time and equipment to make one similar, ha ha
Once we had all signed the log one of the other cachers navigated the container back together again and it was replaced in its hiding spot
The return back to the cars was an easier route, across the bridge of course, ha ha
The cache page mentions a 18k walk trail, that would take some effort.
I think would prefer to tackle that on the bike myself, and that would still be a mission, ha ha
Maybe it's time to upgrade to an electric bike

Met up with Ebenie here after bashing across the river. A team effort had the logbook in hand after about 5 minutes. Love the craftsmanship
A fave from me.
Heading out and about with Granett, Kyzabra and AlliedOz today around the wider Northam area. Popped in and out of the Event a couple of times. Thanks to all the COs for a great day.

Having checked in to WAGB19 and done our meet and greet, Granett, SVKR_WA, Allied Oz and I headed out to grab some caches over the weekend.
Lots of laughs on the drive and this was one of the caches on our radar.
We came across some other cachers at GZ and between us all (mainly svkr doing the work) we got it out.
Thanks heaps to Bristag for placing and maintaining Dorntj Koorliny - Avon View. I found your cache today. I added my name to the log and replaced where I found it.

Outnabout with Team Bastholm and JAM1511 in Northam for WAGB19. A rather adventurous river crossing instead of doing what experienced geocachers should do and follow the path. This of course was no help in solving the puzzle.
Perseverance prevailed though as we knew what we should have done. Thanks once again for the experience

What a great hid another great cache. I’m really enjoying finding these puzzles it took us 10 minutes. Looking forward to find more
Well we took the long hard way to get to GZ.
Met another cacher along the way.
Wow what a creative cache awarding it a favourite point.

We absolutely love field puzzles so we were excited to see that there were a few around Northam. This cache dif not dissapoint! So well made, it works perfectly and is a decent challenge without being too hard. TFTC Bristag, a favourite from us and really looking forward to your other puzzles ??
Loved this one. I feel mr Crumps patience was starting to be tested. Found on our WAGB caching weekend with Copwats TFTC
Wow what cache , after tramping across a dry muddy river bed, then climbing up rocks to finally locating the cache , the real fun begun trying to undo the container which required patience & persistence. TFTC
Another very clever cache by Bristag found with thronsy.4 while at WAGB2019
Love a good field puzzle and this one did not disappoint
Just challenging enough to be rewarding and well deserving of another favourite

Thank you! In Northam for WAGB. Happy to make the find here with papillon367 and Photo-Play.
Bit of an unused looking bike path that leads to GZ. Lovely views though. Have found one similar but it still took a minute to open the cache. Tftc another favourite
Found it. TFTC Bristag. Teamed up with ullyssia and papillon367. Very interesting puzzle cache. We came in vie the gate to the south. . ish. it was a long walk. The second part of the hint did'nt make sense until we were half way through the puzzle. Fav from me well done.
Teamed up with Photo-Play and ullyssia for this field puzzle. Good teamwork there and we had the log book in hand fairly quickly - locked it up again to keep the challenge for the next team approaching! Thank you for another great hide Bristag, another favourite... Good thing I had several FPs saved up before the week-end!
Out and about with SVKR_WA, AlliedOz and Kyzabra during WAGB19 picking up the odd smilie here and there. A great day with the usual banter thrown for good measure.
Someone suggested that this way might be a shortcut so muggins here followed along blindly which involved among other things some rock climbing and river crossings, eventually made it to GZ were SVKR_WA was tasked with opening the container. It took a while but he got there in the end.
Happy to report we took the much more conventional route back to the car.
Bristag I found your cache at 11:37am, this was the 8th of 17 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5386. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Was hoping this would be worth the walk over the bridge and it didn't disappoint. After looking around at gz and finding nothing I read some older logs which confirmed my very first thought. After a bit more grunt and muscle the cache was in hand. Took about 10 minutes to get into it and the same to put it back haha Fave point from me. TFTC
So far on this holiday, in order, I had a did not attempt (tree climb that I wussed out on), a dnf on a bush micro, and now I have my first find - and very worthy too. My wife, who doesn't often cache, did the opening duties.
found on a day off work a great cache took a bit to open but soon got it then the tricky part was clossing it hahah tftc
Great field puzzle add fav
Out today with L68, heading to Wubin via a number of wheatbelt country towns to cleanup three more of the wheatbelt science trail caches and a few others that have appeared since I was last in the area. Thanks for a great day out.

The access to the cache was jammed, so we first looked else where. Finally coming back and getting it out. The puzzle was worked out after a while. It was a bit damp inside, but is was a warm day and it was quickly dried out. TFTC
We headed out today to claim some more smileys through the Avon valley, we had a mixture of caches with three fantastically executed field puzzles being the highlight of our day, this being one of them!! As for the time spent on this one, we didn’t even have time to turn the timer on, I handed the cache to the wife whilst I got my phone timer ready to start and she shouts “GOT IT” I don’t know who was more surprised, her or me, luch must have been on her side today as she did the same with “Clear Prop” We had a couple of DNF’s for the day but will get back to hopefully rectify that soon, all in all a great day out, a fouvrite point coming your way TFTC
Found en route from Adelaide to Perth. It was a treat to find this bunch of excellent puzzles around the Northam area. I ended up sitting there for about 10-15 minutes trying to nut this one out. Another fav point from me for a well constructed cache. Thanks Bristag for the puzzle and the cache.
This is find # 23767 for me

Thought i better check this cache after the fire. sure enough it had stuck in position. managing to free it up I found it had very minor damage and works just fine
Up at el caballo for golf and treked up here to try to find this cache. hada few problems accessing cache as host was uncooperative. Cahewas accessed after about 10 minutes of frustration. Great cacheand worthy of a favourite.tftc
Took a walk across the bridge and took in the views. Very nice this time of year.
Got to GZ and identified the only place the cache could be (according to the description) but couldn't get the cap to budge. Eventually worked it loose using tools to hand but it was wedged on hard!
Then got to grips with the actual cache container. For me at least, it was worthwhile stopping, looking and thinking a bit. That made it quicker than fumbling randomly (5 minutes or so). It also helped that it's a quiet spot where you are unlikely to get sprung by Muggles.
Put it all back as it was and didn't ram the cap on too firmly!
Great workmanship on this one Bristag. Have another favourite point.

If you go late afternoon take mozzie spray.

Do you go to the left or the right? Of course we went the wrong way first and had to backtrack to take the other route. Very nice construction Bristag.
Found this well engineered cache with richlink. Accessed the log book after a couple of wrong turns. Thanks Bristag.
In the Northam area for work and a chance to grab a few hide's in the area
This one caught my eye with 3 favs from for visits, so it was definitely worth a visit. Short walk from the parking spot to GZ, revealed a very well crafted cache. Setting about the task And with a few wrong turns the log was in my hand in about 5 minutes.
Thanks for the fantastic puzzle Bristag
Definitely worth another fav point for the design

In Northam running some errands, we decided to find some caches whilst in town... We headed to where we thought would make this one a driveby, but that wasn't happening so we decided to read the description We then back tracked past where we had been earlier & parked at the suggested spot & made our way to GZ... We were quickly on the hunt & whilst I searched one side, Jase was on the other! DangerMouse09 of course spotted the only place it could be lol
We knew what would be in store for us here & Jase quickly went to work... Luck was on our side today & a short time later the logbook was ours It did then take alot longer getting it back together again...
TFTC Bristag... We have seen a few caches similar to this one, but this one is by far the best! Looking forward to see what comes out of your workshop next [^] Cache was in good condition.

The reason of coming out to Northam was to attempt this cache. Happy to say we found it, solved it, signed log, and left trackable. Without timing I am guessing between 5 minutes and 10 minutes. Once we had taken the wrong path we could plan our next way into the cache. What a great cache!!
Very well made cache took me around 10 minutes to open with help from Pug002
