#23707. Looked in the wrong place to start with, but when I paid more attention to my GPSr the cache was quickly spotted. TFTC.
We have been geocaching up this track before (multiple times), so were pleased to see a newish cache we could find en route to a Wither Water station Wherigo WP. An easy find, and then used the handy nearby seat while doing the paperwork. Now to carry on uphill and get that last bit of info. No quails spotted, though. TFTC.
No luck today, turned up alot of ground for about an hour, might come back with reinforcements
This cache looked all alone on my map so had to target it today. Nice easy find thanks GH6710

I seem to have found lots of caches in lots of places on the Wither Hills. Time to venture up this track. There seemed to be lots of muggles about so I made good use of my time while waiting by reading the information. I learned lots. Strangely I didn't see or hear any quail today. Maybe I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks for the hide .
Found this on a walk with our cousin. It is her first find! Beautiful autumn day.
Passing by today on the way down from the ridge to clock up some more Everest metres. Dipped all the TBs.
Found! Was on a fun family walk and happened to stumble upon a geocach! Fun to find - TFTC
Accidentally found by the kids while on a walk they moved off the track to allow the two meter bubble as people where walking and then they found it
We had a nice big walk this morning in the crisp sunshine. Unfortunately forgot our pen, but grabbed a photo of the cache instead. TFTC !

After a couple of messages to the CO, I was allowed to put in a replacement container and log nearby. Watch for an update on coordinates soon...
Tried again for this one but no luck. There were signs of something being here, some rocks and a small plastic shoe but no cache.
This is a really lovely walk ! Perfect weather for this today, as it wasn't too hot, and the grass was still green !
Going for a walk after coming to town so decided to look for a couple along the way. TFTC.
Another day, another cache for my current project, trying to get my calendar up to four. So I cycled here after work via Hillcrest. What is with that name anyway? It doesn't crest any hills or even come close. And while we are discussing names, Quail Stream is also intriguing, given that the nearest thing it has to water in it today is sheep. And sheep are not like water at all. Alas no photo. The Wither sheep may be quite tame, but they are also camera shy. But I do have a photo of the stream, sans sheep. And sans stream.
The cache was an easy find, nicely lying out in the open. I put it back where it's supposed to be.
Edit: Corrected date.

Our first foray into the Wither Hills. Feeling fit after completing the QCT and itching for another tramp. Easy find after missing some yesterday. TFTC GH6710
We are slowly turning green into yellow on the Wither Hills and hoping to get it all converted before the heat of summer arrives coupled with the increased fire risk, especially on the higher reaches in case the park is closed.
Our last find for the day as we returned to the car. The only sign of life here apart from us was a bunny hopping about under the trees, seemingly not the least bit concerned about human presence. It was pleasant spending some time here in the shade before venturing on again.
Thank you GH6710

The last find for the day although we did do a multi later but decided not to retrace our footsteps for the find. It was interesting to read the panel and add a bit of knowledge. Under the watchful eye of a good looking rabbit the log was signed and the cache returned as found. Thank you GH6710
Its ages since I've been on the Quail track so I really enjoyed the short wander along from the car park. Found the cache and then read the information as you tend to do when caching. Although I guess it would've been the other way round if anyone was in sight. TFTC #9593
Last time in Blenheim it was too hot for caches in the Whither Hills, but today it was perfect. Only a light breeze, not too hot and pleasant. No bicycles though, so a bit of exercise to grab a few caches. Thanks for placing them - the coffee was well deserved.
We are doing the winter explorer activity through sport tasman. This is a cache I didn't have. It's nice to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. A bitter cold wind today, but the sun is shinning! Tftc.
A day off work with perfect weather meant a day trip to Blenheim to go and find some caches. Also a perfect day for a wither hills wander. I spend a good two or three hours up and around the trails today. What a shame about the native Quail... Anyway, I found the cache and then sat on the seat while I waited for some muggles to pass by. When the coast was clear I replaced the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Hard one, as coordinates were off by at least 7 metres.
Nevertheless, persistence paid off.
Was MrsSoBad out today wearing fluoro colours?

Was MrsSoBad out today wearing fluoro colours?
Mrs SoBad was here - but not in fluoro. She would say it is not sensible caching colour but she often wears red which is also not sensible either. Last trip in the hills she was with Sidewaze and we looked down on the cache area but didn't have time to then get to it. She had 2 short walks on the quick plan for the day - which would have cleared the Wither Hills, this and Seettea. However another cache came out last night from the same CO so that is where she went next. Must have done the 2 caches in the reverse order to shhmule. No problems with the cache here - and a seat is always a handy place to fill in the log at.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Another great day for a walk up the Withers with Jojo, who's foot wasn't feeling great, but she was keen. This was our third trip up for caches and this time we targeted quail stream up and reservoir ridge down. Anything left is now mountain bike material . TFTC Gh6710. Easy find on a cool track.
The Marlborough Winter Explorer competition is underway for 2016 - this was stop 2/10 for us. A competition question can be answered near to GZ for this cache - maybe it will receive a few more visitors in the coming weeks... All in order here. A quick easy find. TFTC
I obviously haven't been here for a long time, how did this seat and sign get here? (Or have I never noticed it?) Nice and cool in the gully. Keeping the kids motivated with jafas and caches - Annacons' Miss 5's turn to make this find.
Out for a morning walk before the big Bridge tournament.
Rather cool fresh air you have on this side of the hill.
Converting a threesie day to a foursie. Most important!
A quick find and sign.

After a pleasant night at the diversion we went for a couple of easy walks. Good spot here. Thanks Gh6710 for the cache
Farm park open again from 1200 today, it looks like the Quail stream area escaped the fire so this cache should be fine. Gentle Annie track and bush damaged by fire. Take care up there everyone.
Wither hills farm park closed until further notice after a fire today, Cache not currently accessable, and may no longer exist?
What a hot day for a walk - midday is not a wise time to be on the hills with the poor kids. Still, they're troopers! N10 for the find.

Out and about with NZDi building up her numbers of local caches. Tonight's task was to clear out the WHFP and this was a cache that has appeared since I recently achieved that.
A QEF at GZ.

Out and about with Kiwimykl attempting to clear as many of the local caches that I can. KM has most of these already which gives me an advantage but I didn't need his help for a QEF tonight.

999th cache. Found with buzzybe on our way back towards the car. Great walking tracks around the hills. Tftc
Meet to fellow geocache's here. One had done 1000 wow, well 999 to be honest. Their ID numbers are TPDODB and TPK5N8.
Out for a short after dinner stroll with my father in law. The perfect time of day for it. A very quick find by me while my father in law checked out the quail.
Thanks GH6710 for the cache.

After yesterdays exploits up the Top Valley in Richmond Forest Park it was to be a more relaxed and easy going day, compared to recent trips anyway. Took the recycling from the last couple of weeks of extravagance and gave the dog a walk along the Taylor River before heading off to Picton for an FTF. mrs capperz came in from work after lunch and said she wanted to go for a walk. . . . . . to the farm park . . . . . . so I suggested Quail Stream, naturally.
Been a while since I last came up this way and good to be back along the tracks again. Bit of a cool breeze blowing today but walking at a good pace kept the body temperature up. I guessed pretty much where this would be, and was right, a good place for a cache and a Q E F ensued.
Carried on part f the way up the Upper Quail before heading back to the car
T F T C GH6710, my finds of yours exceed the Thompson's Track caches, 80 so far and long may they continue.

After receiving the notification for this one last night just as it was getting dark - my plan was to get up early this morning and head out.... but was beaten for the FTF by a night time cacher.
Never mind - I love the walks up here - despite the dryness at the moment.

#1492. Happy days - my first South Island {FTF}
I had set notifications a few weeks ago however forget to make them live. Wondering why things were so quiet down here. A local cacher flicked me a text almost an hour ago and I hummed and harred for about 10 seconds before grabbing my torch and pen.
No problems with Muggles during this visit to With Hills - the quietest visit yet.
All good at GZ - thanks for the smilie.
