SPlKE I didnt find your cache Spin It!! on 29/6/2024, 10:35AM. Found WP1 and arrived at the final location where I also had a scratch around but came up empty.
Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers and Lisylou). We searched and searched and had the help of the man living in the nearby caravan who seemed to know where it usually is. Unfortunately we couldnt find it.
Its ashame this was not there met up with a man camping next to it and he even helped us try find container but its obviously gone
Tftc sphir3, We had done stage 1 of this multi some time ago and had no success at GZ .Today a thorough search revealed the cache.Favourite point
Muggle65 and l are attempting to build our multi numbers, so here we are. Thank you for the fun
On the way home I decided to grab this cache. At placement I had fun trying to spin the game to get the information to find GZ. Then the cache was found, then log was signed and replace back.Sphir3 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.
12688. Located by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Red&mootie at 1500. This was a multi with a difference. Got the information and went for a drive in Gympie to the final location to SL Tnx Sphir3
Driving from Hervey Bay to Brisbane and I needed to get a cache today to fill my calendar challenge. This one sounded interesting so off I went. Love the concept at gz although it was full of mud and really really hard to spin. Ended up using the end of my fishing pole to force the needed elements to turn.
Once I had the numbers, I was a little shocked at how far away it was, but figured the puzzle was easy enough that I couldn't have it wrong. I was glad I was travelling south so I didn't have to back track. Once at the second way point, I could see lots of places for a hide but because I wasn't convinced of the coords, I decided to walk away and get a quick trad for my cache today instead. Just as I turned, I spotted it. Glad I could finish this off. I loved the idea. Perhaps it needs to be in an outer container to limit the mud inside the mechanism. Thanks for something different.

Located the gadget and took it back to the car for TLC. A bit of patience and soon spinning like a charm Love the concept!

Two TASSIES touring around, and back in Gympie for supplies as we are out at the Gympie Muster for the week. So having a look around at the aftermath of the horrendous floods, and logging a couple of multis as well. This one looked approachable given a time constraint. Got to WP1 and wondered whether we had got it right, Wandered about all over the area before finally coming across a rather unusual device which took a little bit of effort to get it spinning so to speak. Determined the necessary co-ords and set off to GZ, which was accurately found. However the log was floating about in the breeze, and the tube was there on the ground with the lid off. Log was okay, so signed and put it all back together and rehid in the appropriate hidey hole. Thanks for this multi and especially the spinner, which needs another favourite we think !
As others have said it takes a bit to get the spinning to happen at the 1st WP. Then it said it was a bit of distance away when I got here I thought did I have everything aligned, until I read another post and I knew I was in the right place.
Nice work, loved the container at WP1, im going to copy it, i will make sure to mention your cache as my inspiration. Favorite given.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
2/1/22 Nice field puzzle. Solved it and after short search at GZ found the Preform in good condition. TFTC SL
Spin It!!
D 2.0 T 2.0 Small Multi-cache
On the way home, caching alone after the Widgee event and finding Bendy Black with Gur for my 5th loop. So high I could do anything!
Enjoyed finding this cache. Even though I was alone PAF kept me company as I thought a guardian was sitting wp1 info (see photo).
Couldn't spin and get the info, the thing was stuck. A visit from CO to check will ensure more FP for this nicely constructed cache.
Near ground Zero someone was pulled over by the cops so I enjoyed my Beefy Signature Steak until they disappeared.
Very sneaky hide. Another PAF but found just before my helpful friend responded.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here Sphir3. A favourite point for the guardian!

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
As we approached GZ we noticed a StarTrack parcel van Parked with it's nose nudged in almost ON GZ.
Hmmm? [?]
What to do? [?}
Do we leave & perhaps come back later? [?]
NO, I'm going in ... I slipped into full stealth mode, thongs for quiet & a brightly coloured shirt to blend in with the surroundings.
I went bush & came in from the 'other' side & noticed the driver was sound asleep in the cab so, after quickly locating the 'object' of my search I settled down behind a large tree to begin extracting what was needed.
Nothing was working as it was blocked up with debris & dirt particles but I persevered & coaxed things along with my trusty pocket knife until everything fell into place nicely.
Took note of the information acquired then 'reset' everything which was quite easy now that the workings were all loosened up nicely.
Entered the data into the trusty smartphone then, sneaking back to the Geo-Beast, we were on our way to the final with the StarTrack driver none the wiser.
At GZ it was a nice quick find of the well placed container & we made friends with a couple of magpies which was a nice touch.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Caching has never really been about the numbers. I drive generally over a thousand km's a week (some for work, some to explore, some for the kids, and some just because I have to) so there's always a cache or two to break up the drive. Having said that, I also enjoy numbers, fulfilling challenges, and quirky statistics. It's for this reason, I'm going to aim to fill my dates found and dates hidden this year, and a few other challenges in the local area.
Camped at Inskip for the week and on the way home we wanted to tidy the map up around Gympie a bit. I love both of your caches I've done so far. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Got the required numbers last trip up here and kept them safe for the next trip. That was today. Pulled up to an empty basketball court and made the quick find.
The puzzle is a bit stiff, took a lot of effort for some of them to turn, but it was all achievable in the end.
Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache **SPlKE**

Heading north today and picking up caches along the way. I found a variety of hides and this was one of them. After grabbing the info required I headed off to GZ and it wasn't long and the cache was in hand.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Visiting Gympie after a maintenance run to Imbil via Palmwoods, Flaxton & Kenilworth, then lunch by the Mary River. After being muggled out at a few other locations and also noticing that some other multis on my map were now archived, this one became the target. Found stage 1 fairly easily and went back to the car to figure out the puzzle. It took some spinning to get what we needed but eventually came up with something sensible.
Off to the final & realised that we'd been past here just before on a wild goose chase. Had noticed the strangely abandoned sports facilities. Set about our search tripping over lots of escaped succulents. Was not having much luck until I went to pick up some 10c rubbish and lo and behold there was the cache quite close lurking in its hide.

The first part was all wet but lucky we had an old rag in the car (not the wife) to dry it and then we’re able to solve the puzzle! Found the cache the next day. TFTC
I’m going to have to get Wilikins to chat to whoever is supposed to look after the garden. Ramkins of long past are being strangled by some orange monstrosity.
A good field puzzle, worked out the numbers before an event and found the final after.

27/12/20 16:24 Clever little field puzzle. A bit damp and had to employ something to do the spinning but worked out fine. Thanks for the cache SPlKE
Surprisingly busy near the posted co-ords on a Sunday afternoon. A quick find, then a wrestle with the marvellous contraption. Not the easiest to work in the wet.
Off to the final. GZ was blissfully quiet. A short scout around to locate the cache.

TFTC loved the first stop on this journey. And off to the final cache. Favorite from me TNLNSL
Had 3 goes to sign this one 1st visit on the day I spun it! I backtracked to the final and could not locate it, then about 12 months later when i returned to Gympie it was pouring rain so it was only a quick search thus no luck, today I finally got back to this one yes Located yay . It took I don’t know how many years but anyway It’s finally logged . Signed log kingfisherau 2:30 pm 1/10/20 and replaced all as found,

Found the first part at WP1 but found it difficult to retrieve the given coords we needed for the cache but persisted with the spinning and got there in the end. Drove into Gympie and walked up to GZ for a not so quick find!! but the mozzies found me easily enough!! Deserves a favourite point for the ingenious idea. TFTC SPIKE
We so loved the first stage! So much fun using the tool! Thank you so much for the fun. Signing with Deafcat
Staying in Gympie for a work course, and managed to leave early enough to fit in a few previously unfound caches along the way.
Had no probs finding the tool, though it was getting a little hard to operate due to dirt etc getting inside. Still managed ok and had a fun time gaining the coords.
Wasn't intending to drive all the way back into town today, but what the heck! A short search at GZ and the container was all mine. Have an FP for your effort and my fun.

Log signed at 16:05 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **Sphir3**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

Hi there SPlKE.
We are currently staying at Standown Park, Standown Park. It was originally set up as a Veterans Retreat for ‘their mates and later opened to the public to enjoy. Over the years it has grown to become a "home away from home" for many Veterans of all ages and all conflicts plus their families.
Today's venture had us heading in to Gympie to bag a few caches. All up we found 9 caches & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia. We awarded this cache a favourite point for the ingenious puzzle.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Cache needed some maintenance, so we made the repair and restored the cache. (It's around the back)!
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I found stage one and worked it out, but spent some time looking at the “obvious spot”. Up, down, different angles, different distances. It was too good for me today. TFTH SPlKE
I had no problem with collecting the coordinates but couldn't find the cache at the second location. We had two sets of eyes looking and still couldn't find it
I had obtained the coordinates for this cache sometime ago but due to a severe thunderstorm and heavy rain, I did not make it to the final.
I decided that I should complete this cache on my way home from work today.
After a short search the cache was found.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

This is heaps of fun. Was a little stuck in the turning but after a while it was easy to make it make sense and get the right coords. A quick pick up as well.
Decided to do some caching close to home today, this was our 1st of five. Great cache had fun finding the final location.

I did the spinning around,
right round baby,
right round,
yesterday
Today I took a turn and headed for GZ to find the cache.
I looked in the obvious place and missed spying the cache [:o]
But a muggle had seen me poking around and must have thought I was up to no good,
even though I was not wearing a 'hoodie' [:o]
While looking for the cache,
I heard a voice say "there he is, hiding !!".
I popped up to find five muggle employees of the neighbouring business wondering what I was doing.
"I saw a lizard run into this log." I replied.
"Is it your pet ??", one gormless muggle asked.
"Who takes their pet lizard for a walk in the park ??!!", I replied.
The muggles lost interest at that point and I sat down on GZ to finish me fizzy cola.
A minute later I spied the cache
Oh what fun !! [^]

2nd multi cache for the day took a little bit on the 2nd part but it was night time. Tftf
Great cache. We found the other one a few months ago so we had some idea of what to expect.
Found the clue quite quickly, though using it took a bit of dexterity and some team work too.
Funding the cache was a lot trickier than I would have thought. We looked in the obvious (and right) spot first, but didn't see the cache which lead to a larger search area. However it was eventually spotted and retrieved.
Left a few small toys for the next mob.

This cache's way-point was another clever design which we had picked up earlier. Parked outside a house that had a pretty groovy kombi letterbox and went off to find the cache. Nice short stroll as it was a pretty hot day and then back to air conditioned car. Mmmmmm! TFTC Spike xxx
Out caching with a group during the Widgee event.
Another very clever cache! This one didn't take us as long to locate and then we set off to the final waypoint and the cache was also a rather quick find.

Out with wombles and co at the 2017 cacheup with the newbies event for a weekend of fun camping and of course caching we joined up with Echocage1 and Dutchie 1950. After finding a nearby similar cache we found this one what a great cache im inspired by this to make something similar. TFTC
Was in the area today with Fangsoki, picking up some random icons off the map, and trundled up to this one without much of an idea what to expect. Quickly spied what we needed to find here and after some spinning around sorted out what we had to do with it - and marked our GZ on the map ... for Ron.
Ron was about an hour later as we were preparing to depart Gympie with a satisfying morning's work under our belts. Pulled up near GZ and trundled over to the obvious looking spot - and searched it thoroughly (sow e thought), before widening our radius. Had us spinning around until we felt we were looking wrong ... and then spotted it where we started, but hidden unexpectedly. Simple, but effective.
Finishing our Gympie morning on a high - a fav point for the effort on this one.
Thanks for placing this cache, Sphir3. Found in good condition.

Mr Pprime and I were in the area and he mentioned he wanted this cache.
A slight navigational fail by Mr Pprime had us un-necessarily parked 70m away. Meh. I need the exercise. We neared GZ. My phone pointed a different direction to where Pprime was going. Thankfully, for once, it seemed to come up trumps. I soon found the cache.
Now in hindsight, I am not sure how my friend Prime would have gone on this cache due a small ailment he has. We fiddled about and discussed it and it finally dawned what we had to do. With some co-ords in hand... we were off.
Spin on (do you see what I have done there? ) - we made our way to our suspected final. Our first pass yielded nothing. But from a certain angle and distance, I spotted the elusive beast. Mr Prime grabbed it and we signed the log. We re-hid it as found.
A clever little waypoint indeed. I smell effort - so have a favourite point on account. TFTC SPIKE

30/12/16 up this way camping with friends and today I had time to go grab some caches. Getting another nearby cache and practically parked the car on this one's first WP. Quick solve and no surprise where gz was. At gz a nice quick find, although it was a sneaky hide in a logical place. TFTC
Dranyer and I loved those puzzle caches! Look at last person as they can't find it! We looked all around through bush and came back where coordinated was had other good look! Gotcha! Blind spot tricky hide! TFTC
Went to the first and got the info needed for the Final, upon arriving there I found a good hiding spot But No cache , Spoke with a previous finder since getting back home and he said I was at the correct place. So it may have been muggled , Got it on my watch list as it hasn't been found since June - 4 months.

In the interests of tying up loose ends and having heard there was a replacement log to sign I decided a quick stop on the way over to bunnings was called for. Have signed the replacement logbook, hope that's ok with the co. TFTC!
I had some unfound caches to find up this way that were published after my last visit at the very start of the year whilst at the event. Arrived in the area but could not find a park close to where the GPSr wanted me. I finished up parking near the playground and walking the 800meters back. When I was approaching GZ found a closer car park spot which I discovered later would be of great benefit. Found the container and worked out the colored coded final co ordinates then went for the 5.5Klm drive to GZ. Arrived at GZ and there was evidence that this one had been muggled so I replaced it where my GPSr was indicting 1M to go. Down low and in. clever Idea for this one. TFTC Sphir3.
Received some help from Youngoldfella yesterday at the event.
No wonder I had trouble, finger trouble, entered the wrong cords into the GPS.
All with the cache.

I had aquired the co ords for this one a couple of weeks ago but as I was on foot it wasn't practical to go immediately to the final hide. I finally had a chance to check it out yesterday and going by previous finders comments I was fairly sure I was in the right vicinity but was not successful. I went back to check the original coordinates this afternoon to make sure I hadn't written/entered anything incorrectly and it all seems in order so I will have to try again another day. The only thing I was a bit suspicious about was a couple of little plastic trinkets that could be swaps were scattered about where I thought the cache should be. I did wonder if it had been muggled but am prepared to accept that I didn't look hard enough. TFTC! If nothing else it kept me busy.
I thought I had completed all your caches in Gympie the other day and when I looked at the map that night I saw this one.
Headed to GZ today and found the information I needed to go to GZ.
Another fun one to do but "Don't Let It Slip" is still the favourite.
We headed off to GZ and found the cache in the first place I looked.
Signed the log and returned to hide.
Now my Gympie map is all smilies except the tree.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Sphir3 All good with this cache

Loved the first clue! Fantastic now at the final location, very peaceful. Shame these courts aren't maintained. Tftc. Another place I've never been before.
Even though i was challenged at first with the waypoint! We still managed an hour later to be FTF!! Geokids have had a blast and all have a FTF coin now! Woohoo!
