With sunset lighting we made our way to the start point and were able to find the first tack in the quickly fading light. With darkness now around us we were able to find the tack and made our way to it. But unfortunately this is where our journey ended. We expanded our search and headed out in all directions in hope we might stumble across the following tack without any success. Reviewing previous logs it seems some people had luck in being able to skip the missing reflectors to find the end point but after a day of roller derby competition and the temperature plummeting and dinner calling our names we decided to call it quits and make our way back to the car.We did spot one kangaroo which is exciting.
Find # 14478Out on a big drive, picking up odd caches in out of the way places, driving in some awesome bush areas and the odd walk to keep the legs moving. From home, it was then Bendigo, Toolleen, Heathcote, Lancefield, Baynton, Redesdale, Sedgwick, Mandurang (centre of Vic) then Kangaroo Flat for Munchies before making my way back Home. 27 physical and 1 complete Ad Lab for the day to keep the numbers moving. Most caches were relative logical finds but later in the day I got a couple of tougher hides that chewed up the daylight. Seeing as it was on dark, I decided to ha e a look see at this one... it one that I have looked at online a few times. Happy to be near it tonight. Think the stars n moon were all aligned for me as I ventured in following the trail. A few good thumper around and thankfully the torch showed me where the Orb Spiders were. Sadly no drop mice were encounter, (can't wait to get my own photo of one of them)But happily made my way to GZ and discovered a lone wombat... although he was having a bath and was rather damp. While cache was wet, the log was writeable. Managed to get most of the water out, but have a feeling bath time might be back again soon. CO might wanna check out this one. TFTC Noodle55
A return trip after work last night proved better than my previous attempt but still no cigar.
Again I found the 1st 3 trees relatively easily but then no matter what direction I went, I didn't see another marker. Being the crazy fool that I am, I stumbled on in what I thought might, maybe, possibly be the general direction............. I was pretty chuffed when I did intend find another marker a significant distance from the previous one. But it was only one marker with 2 possible options. Needless to say, the direction I chose yielded no more so I had to retrace. Heading the other way I again picked up the trail. I was able to follow this section quite easily until I lost it again!! Taking the instructions, re a rocky hill literally, I kept going up but found no more markers so turned back again........... after quite sometime I found the last tree that I'd passed with a marker. I was very frustrated, tired & hungry & decided to head home from here. But as I headed down, I found some markers. Game on!!! I followed these until they stopped suddenly. I knew I was close but could not locate a tree with a large white reflector!!! So I headed back to the car with significantly more than 1.5km under my boots!! I returned after work the following night & scoured the area from the last known place but still came up with nothing. Being the crazy fool that I am, I tried something different & squealed rather than screamed at the discovery of a very soggy wombat!! Poor chap's going to get trenchfoot. I gave him a wee seat & attempted to sign the saturated log. Many thanks for the multi-day challenge. It was great fun

I'm not normally out this way after dark & without my teenager, but after a big, rather exciting day of caching out Eaglehawk direction, I decided to head home this way.
Perhaps a recce in daylight to even locate the parking area would've been prudent, but why make things easy?
Armed with my fabulous security & headtorches, Geopup & I set off. We found the start after I'd tripped over the black labradog several times......... Not sure how many I actually found, 3 or 4 I think. But couldn't find the next & pretty sure I was going in circles or backwards or something similar I became a bit disorientated & then my torch suddenly lost power (very disappointing but realised I hadn't recharged it since Rutherglen ) I made the decision to abhort my mission for tonight & headed out under the light of my headtorch.......... I'll def be back though. Many thanks

So this is our last night cache for Bendigo, and what better time todo it than a mild winters night. So after dinner with Ghihash we jumped in my car and headed out to tackle this one.
The start was relatively easy but at the 3rd reflector we came up with a plan for 1 of us to stay at the marked tree while the other gets to the next reflector. This worked quiet well as we did get a little side tracked a few times. A great cache and only got an unseen growl from what I hoped was a passing mob of Roos.
Lots of laughs but poor old wombat was taking a swim in his hole. Log is also wet

Heading out arfter dinner K9team and I got to the starting coordinates keen on finding another night cache. We found the first 2 reflectors fine and got stuck at the 3rd. Expanding out search I spotted one on the ground some distance away and re positioned in likely place.
Continuing on we began to realise how old this cache is. Thankful for K9teams torch we continued on. Up and over the rocky hill we almost missed the final Coordinates, seeing another reflector on the road and walked straight past. After getting stuck at a red reflector we turned back and realised our mistake.
Coordinates found we went and found the cache.
Unfortunately the log was soaked and quite a bit of water in the container but we managed to sign GH/K9
Thanks for this night time adventure!

We hadn’t planned to do this cache today, but another cache had brought us in its direction this morning on our way through to Bendigo for a caching day. We took a look at the start point for future reference.
We started a little late today and got caught out in the Kamarooka at dusk so we decided to do this night cache on our way home.
We started about 7.30pm leaving any thoughts of listening to the AFL Grand final behind us.
At the start We found a white cube fire tack on the ground reflecting towards us. We picked it up and Replaced it back: next to the others in their original location. We had a reasonable start until the 3rd or 4th when we struggled but eventually found the reflector.
This happened a few times and think a few of the fire tacks between may have disappeared.
None the less, with persistence we got there.
We did however see a possum whose two little yellow eyes were almost mistaken for a reflector. One of us stayed put while the other went to explore to ensure it was correct as it appeared much higher in the tree than usual place. It was good to see some wildlife other than the hopping variety.
We enjoyed the cache very much and are giving it a favorite point.
TFTC thanks

That was just fantastic fun from start to finish. Was restless tonight so decided to tackle this one late and finished it after midnight. Bought out a better light this time and found my way quite easily although a few times there seemed to be gaps in the trail. With a good light i was able to pick it up again although once i found myself following a house for a while! Some good twists and a great suprise too, thats an epic favorite from me.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Multis are usually not my thing, so it wasn't surprising to me to find a lot in my found database that hadn't been logged.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Noodle55 (F=308 H=1) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

It was just on dusk when we started this nightcache but the beam from our torches still were able to make out the reflectors that led our way through the bush. Unfortunately the terrain was a bit to hard going for the unfit Triton so she had to make her way back to the car. The male Triton continued the adventure eventually making his way to the final tree. Searching all over the tree for the coordinates he had trouble locating them initially but eventually found them and wondered how on earth he had missed them.
At GZ the great hide was located much easier.
Thanks Noodle55 for the fun experience through the bush tonight and for the effort put into the final. It did bring a smile to the face.

Loved this!
We’re totally in prepared, was just out driving and decided to do it. Soo took us way longer then it should have, but was sooo much fun!!
When it says dress for walking and bring a GOOD torch it means it!!

Needing some exercise with no one else around and saw this as a way to get out the house.
Trail was easy to follow and well marked. Took longer than it should have to find the hid it self.

Jac Andy Eloise and Dom. We really enjoyed this great novel cache. The wombat gave us a little scare
This is a clever and fun cache.... although not for the faint hearted
I took my 11 year old son back to this one last night. We gave him the strongest torch and put him in charge of finding our way. He thoroughly enjoyed it... although did need some gentle prodding to keep him focused on the trees.
Definitely worth it, and don’t forget your walking shoes and a torch with a strong beam.

Cache up and running again after some maintenance. All reflectors have now been checked and the trail is good to go!
No luck tonight, we explored for quite sometime, but couldn’t even find the third reflector. Lots of trees down and high shrubs making it difficult to see. We had many torches and eyes with no luck. Sad face
Wow! This is a night cache we will never forget! What an experience! We parked at the end of Meyer road and headed towards the listed co-ordinates to start the night cache. First obstacle the creek! With our 4 year old and 1 year old with us any size creek was going to be an adventure to get across. Mrs 4Moule end up worse for wear at this crossing. Maybe there was a way to get around instead of cutting across. Certainly added to the adventure. We found the first couple of reflectors before the trail went cold. We broadened our search to a 35m or so circle from the last reflector and found the trail again. Think there may be one reflector missing or very hidden from overgrowth. Continuing on the trail of reflectors were so relieved when we finally were able to see the big white reflector show up in our torch light! Found what we needed to get to the cache. Cache is still in great condition. We were very happy to sign our names to the log. Our love for night caches continues on after completing this well made one. The whole multi from start to finish was a really good adventure!
Yes definitely have your walking shoes! A fav point from us.
We were surprised to find a TB in this cache as well that wasn’t logged into it. We have taken it to move it on after sitting there for 8 months or so. Thanks for the adventure!

Went with a happy bunch of experts, heaps of fun and a great night... although do watch out for cobwebs... and if you think spiders are scary...
Still actually laughing about this one! Poor Indianagleeson, he didn't watch for wombats! !

That was awesome!
I really enjoyed this from start to finish. It kept me on my toes throughout that whole walk!
I should have paid more attention to the description, as the wombats had me jumping!

First ever Geocache and what a hoot.
Down from Canberra and heard this night cache was a must do. It rained in the afternoon but not during the walk, so the Sedgwick bush revealed a clear night and amazing scents.
After parking at the Meyer Road sign (tall wooden road signpost) half way along Cavagna Rd, it was only a short distance (and a channel jump) to the start.
Five adults in the party, and were certainly helped by strong bicycle torches. Superbly laid out, well maintained, and easy to follow.
Must be the season for large spider webs but these were (mostly) easy to spot at night and negotiate around, and added to the laughter.
The GZ was a riot when revealed. Easy walk back to the car along the road.
Great stuff Noodle55.

Found in the company of Claybol, Virbul, and Nicole_Louise and 2 x 9yo geokids. It was a nice mild night and so a perfect opportunity to attempt this cache finally as we've been talking about this for quite some time. The presence of many many spiders/webs made the going slow, as did the rough terrain. The kids did a great job, however I probably would not have brought my son had I known how rough it was going to be.
The reflectors were easy to spot and we enjoyed the few surprises along the way. Obviously a lot of time and effort has gone into creating this multi and we appreciated this. Thank you Noodle55 for the adventure! We had a good laugh at the surprise at the end

Staying in Bendigo only a short while, we had to be choosy with what caches we would tackle, and as the other locals I know had completed the other night caches we chose this one for a group assault. The weather was kind to us, but there was zero moonlight which certainly helped us spot the reflectors, but made the terrain and difficulty levels increase dramatically. Surprised to read in past logs that very young children and even more senior members completed this - some of the adults in our party found the going quite tough and we are more than fit and able-bodied. The youngest of our group were nine and in trying to calm their frazzled nerves I think we were also trying to calm ourselves. Spooky stuff! Massive spiders galore, and the very loud insect and animal sounds were a buzzing scary soundtrack to our evening. Luckily we scraped through (literally) - the bush and terrain were not kind to us - and were able to find the final reflector and nearby GZ. That was a bit of a heart-starter (or stopper, not sure haha). Log signed and returned, photos taken, and homewards we headed. We were very pleased to be able to follow the road back to the cars, and it was along this stretch that we could really appreciate the amazing light show Sedgwick had put on for us - wow we don't see even a third of these stars with the city lights of Melbourne - spectacular! Thanks for the night cache - certainly an adventure I won't forget in a hurry.
Interesting
Adventure with Kazba, Nicole_Louise, and led by commandant Claybo. Fun night with this merry gang.

Find #1219 for me. I can remember discussing with a couple of other caching friends whether or not to go for a joint FTF on this cache when it was published earlier in the year but it was retracted before we could finalize our plans and by the time it was republished circumstances made it difficult so it was put on hold. Until tonight! A nice, mild summer evening presented a great opportunity to finally revisit this cache and cross it off our bucket list - this time a group effort with virbull, kazba16, Nicole_Louise and their respective geokids.
Not sure about the best place to park, we decided to navigate to the place where Romax parked and walk from there, but in hind-sight I'm not entirely sure that was the best thing to do since we had to do quite a bit of bush-bashing just to get to the starting point and it would probably have been easier to park a little closer and simply jump over the channel.
Luckily for us all the reflectors were easy to spot so following them was fairly straightforward, but there were so many spider-webs blocking our way that it proved quite challenging to navigate our way around them and we occasionally walked into one. The terrain was also quite rough and a couple of us received a few minor cuts on our legs along the way. We had a lot of fun but I was glad I didn't have my own 2 children with me as I don't think they would have made it through to the end. My friends' kids proved a lot tougher though and did a great job following the grown-ups.
The rough terrain and spider-webs made progress slow so it seemed like ages before we reached the final large white reflector but we got there in the end and not long after found the cache and signed the log book. This cache clearly took a huge effort to set up and maintain so we really appreciated this. Thanks for tonight's little adventure Noodle55 and thanks for this cache which proved to be a lot more challenging than the other 2 Bendigo night caches.

What a cache! Had fun following the clues on this one. Went searching on a cold, wet winters night with 6 geoadults and 8 geokids ranging in age from 3-70yrs! After some initial sticky moments crossing a race.. Lost a gumboot and nearly a child or two, we trekked through the beautiful bush and found ourselves at GZ. What a screamer! Favourite point from us for sure! Thanks for a great night out.
Awesome cache! Found on a drizzly winter night with Flynn2009 plus extra family - was quite the party! Kids had a great hunt and parents struggled to keep up. There were a few squeals at GZ as the prize was revealed. Thanks for the cache and walk. A definite favourite of ours.
Found by Roma, Max & Darcy.
We set out tonight with our 8 year old grandson leading the way and aware of the seasonal obstacle just prior to the starting reflectors we parked at 36 51.168 144 19.855 and started our journey there.
We were aware there were some additional items to be seen tonight and it wasn't long before we came across the first very appropriate one for this area, as we had already seen evidence of their habitat in our torchlight as we weaved our way along!
This proved to be a very family friendly environment as we followed the trail to our final goal.
Another surprise here was enjoyed by us all, particularly our youngest team member.
Thank you Noodle55 for a very commendable first hide and for joining the relatively small group of local geocachers that have made the extra effort to establish a night cache.

{FTF}! Was hoping to see this cache published again after it was taken down briefly. Very excited to see it back online and even more to get the first to find with itsahoughthing. Great walk through the bush and loved the added scare on some of the trees on the way! Thanks for all your effort we thoroughly enjoyed the cache.
Also just to let you know, we noticed some water in the bottom of the cache container and the object inside was a little damp in a few spots.

Congratulations Noodle55 on contributing so much effort into making your first hide such an intersting and challenging experience.
We made our first attempt on this cache on the 29th of February, the day it was published, and although we were unable to find our way past reflector #4 then we did have the pleasure of meeting up with the CO at this point and were priviliged to be able to assist in making the small adjustments required to have the cache back on line.
We returned on the following night and picked up the trail again making our way successfully to GZ.
Thank you Viv and Katherine we thoroughly enjoyed our experiences here and look forward to the opportunity to search for more of your hides in the future.
Cheers,
