We found this straight away. Grabbed the trackable but no way we could get the container out. It's completely wedged in so tight it's not moving and didnt want to break the cute entrance.
On a flying visit to Wellington for Grandson's 1st birthday wandered down the hill to check on the cache. Has faded a lot and a spider had set up home there but all good. Left TB.
31 December 2017 17:07. Went to check on the cache before heading home to Christchurch...and it had gone. Not wanting to leave an eclipse mint tin in the fork of a tree headed to the $2 shops... to find them closed on New Years Eve Sunday. Hunted out what was available with the help of the now bored Elf on a shelf and came up with a new hidden haven.
I wasn't sure whether there would be a cache here in view of the previous log, but knew there would probably not be a log book.
When I got to GZ it all became clear, I found something that seemed to fit but wasn't obvious, still not sure it was the cache or the remnant of it so checking with CO as it did seem likely for an "Other" cache. Left a piece of paper with my caching ID and date as proof of visit in case I had it right. A pleasant walk up from Tawa Central on fine day, nice to explore a new area which was probably bush and/or farmland in the dim and distant past when I attended Tawa College!

Logged with permission, CO has confirmed that I found the correct item, apparently an attempt had been made to fix it but something had gone wrong.
From the description she gave me sounds like an interesting one when it's in order!
TFTC.

Looked for this on Friday, but although I found the probable GZ, there was no log at all present. I didn't have a spear with so will revisit some other time.
I didn't have my GPS with me so I had to use my dodgy phone to get to the area and rely on my geocaching sense to locate the cache. I soon spotted something suspicious and soon had the cache in my hands. Unfortunately the log was soaking and I made no attempt at signing it, but took a proof photo instead. TFTC
I've never really explored up in the hills of Tawa so this was a bit of a GPS guided tour for me. Parked by the culdesac before realizing there was a road that went right by the cache. Only a short walk it feels less suspicious approaching on foot anyway. Wasn't sure what to look for but soon spotted something which warranted closer inspection and unexpectedly found the cache there. Thanks for bringing me here.
#2296 Nice creative 'outer' with this cache. A quick find after doing a job in Tawa on a day before the real rain hit. All good at GZ and lots of space left on the log. I parked about 50m away and walked the final stretch to the cache. Thanks for the smilie

#2571. I was out in Tawa today solving some multis but ran out of luck. A muggle was sitting on the final of one of them and the WP1 of the other multi has turned to paper mache. So needed to grab a traditional to get my numbers up to four for today. So drove up here and parked nearby. The neighbour across the road was working in their garage which did make it a bit awkward for searching. But I figured by now they either knew all about the cache or I would introduce them to the topic. Anyway they ignored me so I kept looking and after searching several wrong spots I finally spied the correct place. Nicely hidden cache. Well done. The logbook was dry. Signed and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here. And yes I enjoyed the view as well.
Between birthday parties we decided to find this cache. Once we got there it was pretty obvious where it would be. Thanks for the quick break between sugar rushes for Mycro Man.
Tried for this a while ago without success. Tried about lunch time today and no-one around. had more idea of what it was before I came so easy find. TFTC
GPS put me on the wrong side of the road initially but once I sorted that out I found a nice hide - such a nice change from the routine Sistema box buried in the undergrowth! TFTC
I was a bit surprised when my Nuvi took me on a bit of an adventurous drive to get me to ground zero. I was sure that geocaching must have taken me to every part of Tawa by now but this was new ground for me. I soon found the very nicely crafted cache. TFTC.
The new cache in the area was on my sisters street...of course I had to get it...nice hide didn't notice it initially. Tftc
Very quick find as the I managed to identify the hide while walking up to GZ. No views this afternoon with the misty drizzle coming down, the trees along the sidewalk kept me reasonably dry. TFTC and the good hide.
Nice hide, and a very pleasant 'discovery' of yet another part of Tawa I had not visited before, a hidden haven for sure.

Stopped off for a look this afternoon. Found ok, took me a few attempts to access the logbook though. TFTC
Nice spot. Easy find for a night cache. Stability of cache needs some review. TFTC
Took the dog for a walk around the streets of Tawa. Fortunately there was a cache on the route. Okay so took a bit of a detour!! Cache nicely hidden but soon in hand. Thanks for the cache.
Called here this afternoon - a quick find after waiting a few minutes for the GPSr to settle down. The cache container seemed a bit unstable when I replaced it, it might be an idea if the CO made one or two adjustments so that it sits better. Signed log, TFTC
Cache # 3,024 - a very quick find of this clever cache with Astro Hunter. Well done. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found today with The Wandering Dragons. Very enjoyable. Thank you!
Cache # 576
Cache # 576
Gathered after work and with no muggles about. Took a little while to find the cache, but finally found it. TFTC !
#7459. Parked further down on Westhaven Drive for a short walk. There was a recycling collection truck parked close to GZ. Fortunately it drove off as we approached. The place was then all quiet other than the barking dog down the street. Good views across the valley – more houses kept coming up on the other side. Quick find. Nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Parked the car for a short walk with the dog along Westhaven. Fortunately found fairly quickly as I really didn’t wish to be “loitering suspiciously” for too long at this point. Nifty hide. #1005. TFTC.
Quick find at night, luckily no one seemed to be around at this time. TFTC Nicely done!
Came up to do this one today as I noticed that I hadn't found a cache on this particular day of the year. A nice hide along with good views. TFTC
A nice quick find with tmann421 and a nicely camoed container.

This is close to home (as the wood pigeon flies) so we went to have a look. MrsP found it quickly in its cunning hide. Thanks for the cache, our first for the new year.
#164. Found at 11.46pm with Jaeh68. We hoped to be first to find but Yeetrees beat us to it. So we were second (Jaeh68 - as she put her hand on it first) and third (me) to find. I'd love to know how long before us he got it. I am now officially mad.
A very clever hide. Gets a fave from me.

WOW another FTF , (23:00). Was sitting down after having dinner when I saw this cache get published, after spending the day in the Wairarapa doing some recreational fishing with Mrs Yeetrees and enjoying the day out.
Was going to leave it but as it was only less than 2 minutes down the road how could I resist getting another FTF . Decided that it was so close that I would try using my phone and see if it was a good choice or not instead of using the GPS. Driving to GZ was not an issue as the phone managed to choose the quickest route to GZ, once I near GZ I decided that I would park a bit short of GZ and walk the last few metres to GZ as it was so much easier to get to GZ by foot.
As I was getting out of the car I noticed a white rabbit bouncing around the Cul-de-sac, I initially thought that I was in Wonderland , but reality soon prevailed. I thought that I would leave the bunny to it own devices and decided to walk on to GZ.
Arriving near GZ I soon spotted something that didnt quite seem to fit, decided to check it out and was quite surprise that I was able to find the cache in the first spot that I looked, was very pleased to find another pristine logbook, sign and returned back as found, TFTC TNLNSL, Yeetrees FTF craze and Tane Ruru "The Geocaching Morepork" also decided to come for a visit.
Thanks for placing this cache here MacPacFamily, what a nice pleasant way to finish the evening on.

See Jacqib's note below - our almost-ftf Glad we found it anyway, after racing out into the darkness near midnight in response to the notification. Awesome hide. Tftc.
