We knew from reading about the cache that we had to climb for it, and when we arrived, the coordinates seemed to suggest a power pylon was the object to be climbed! We then read some logs, and discovered the coordinates are inaccurate, so started looking on the other side of the road. Still unsuccessful, we found taybee's coordinates, and concentrated in that area, even climbing up the nearest tree, but we were unable to spot the cache. TFTC

#12004. As the designated monkey I get to retrieve this type of cache. After a few tricky climbs during our trip, it was good to have a pretty easy one. TFTC.

Tomorrow we are leaving Gisborne for Napier so I had prepared a list of caches I wanted to look for. We decided to do a few central city caches first, while the parking opportunities were good, then go for a walk (fortunately a shady one) before the temperature got too hot. After a coffee break and lunch, we set out to look for some more caches.
When we arrived at GZ, we wondered where the tree was. After reading past logs, we saw that the co-ords were out, so after entering taybee's co-ords, we were soon at the right "tree" (probably more a large shrub). Cache was quickly located and StreetWalker made the climb and handed the cache down to me to do the paperwork. Cool wee container, a mini ammo can. TFTC.

Decided on a bit of a road trip to Gisborne area as we are targeting higher D rated caches for one of our challenges and this area seemed to qualify. Picked up the Squirrel at 6am with a list of about 26 caches. We didn't expect to have so many DNF's and with so many caches needing repairs, hopefully the owners might do some checking and repairing. Anyway after what turned into a very long day with rain, slippery tracks and wading through nearly waist deep water we arrived safely home the next morning at 3.15am.

5pm - Co Ords wanted us on the other side of the road but soon guessed where it might be. Quick spot and guess who the monkey was. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Our target today was to find caches with difficulty ratings of 2.5 and greater. Gap spied a whole lot in the Gisborne region... Road trip. It rained on and off throughout the day, making conditions slippery underfoot and slow-going at times. Weather coupled with quite a few DNFs made this a bit of a disappointing mission. Nevertheless, we soldiered on, as we do...

The coordinates pointed to a heavily electrified fence and a drain... After considering it, we dismissed the idea of a cache being on this side of the road. A quick scan of the previous logs and we knew where this one was. It took a few minutes to find the container, then a quick assault and this one was done. TFTC.
