Reperio 14:02Day 2 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Tarago, through to Bungendore and then on to Captains Flat. It was quite an eventful day, from finding a dog on a lonely country road, to having a brown snake slide up next to me while signing a cache, to having a police officer pull over and put his lights on for us as we were pulling road kill off the roadand of course, lots of geocaches found. A great day out full of geocaching and adventure. Gratias StrangeTrousersAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
There's not much of a story behind this find. It's Saturday afternoon on a long weekend. I did some work and chores in the morning, then set out to start on this series. All but one cache were found and in good order. By the time I turned around at CFT30 to head back home, the crimson of sunset had fallen from the clouds and landed as scarlet on the mountaintops. The temperature had dropped four degrees. Such a beautiful evening to be out for a drive. Thanks for the cache, StrangeTrousers!
Quick find on a day trip to Captains Flat. We had our caching eyes on today. TFTC.
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks StrangeTrousers (F=7986 H=142) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Catching up on some very late logs.
Day 3 of our planned assault on Canberra with the same group consisting of The Drovers, Phetlern, Micaparamedic,
Alansee GoodLook, and ourselves.
We had another busy but very enjoyable day chasing series caches and happily we found all we were looking for with no DNF's
We all had a fantastic day and would like to write more but as we have said when you do so many in such a short time it is hard to remember individual hides.
This in no means takes away from our appreciation to the CO's for all the effort, time and expense they have done to let us find so many caches.
As per the other two days we signed as "The Mob" to save room in the log books.
Many thanks /// for the hides and the fun.
We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to StrangeTrousers for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series.

The third day of caching logging as THE MOB. Once more we appreciated the CO's efforts in putting them out. The weather on all 3 days has been great for caching.
Wow - we so lucky to be able to explore so many different areas of the Aussie landscape following our passion for the geo game, particularly in the company of Alansee, Good Look, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers. (For economy of space logs of caches we found are stamped "The Mob"
Another fabulous day of fun and friendship.
Thanks StrangeTrousers for placing so many caches on the gameboard, which players enjoy finding.

Day 3 - Concentrating on trails, and a few nearby caches.
A few caches were replaced, and some logs replaced due to being wet.

Heading out to Bateman's Bay today for the penultimate leg of our roadtrip, we set off in threatening skies and a light drizzle, only to have a cracker of a caching day, managing 44 assorted finds with only a few DNFs.
We grabbed a selection of caches along Captains Flat Rd into Bungendore, basically culled out the 1.5/1.5s (and grabbed a handful of GA movables too). There were a few where parking was just that bit sketchy....
No problems, just a few drops of blood from the spikes! TFTC...

Cache 6893 on 11 Dec 2020.
Another day where I needed a few caches so headed out early with Bobl27 for another drive down the captains road! The long grass did not make these finds as much fun as they should have been, but always happy to get a find! Most caches required a bit of scratching around but got there in most cases. Caches found in accordance with the hints unless otherwise noted.
Tricky find with lots of options and spiky branches.
Thanks StrangeTrousers for the cache and the fun!

Found while collecting caches in the CFT and ALL7 series. This was a straightforward find at GZ. Thanks StrangeTrousers.
Cache was open and out of place. did our best to place it back to where thought it belonged. Tftc
Found on a huge day out with sebass14. Despite some smoke around, we took advantage of the somewhat cooler conditions. Our main goal for today was the smash out the "Lollies" series plus any other nearby ones until it was time to go home. First cache was found at about 11am and we finished the series at about 3:30pm, with lunch at Bungendore in between, so it was a very successful mission. Then went on to find some more caches before heading home - all in all, 54 caches for the day! A quick find after pulling up next to GZ - the piece of bark covering this cache looks like an outline of Australia! Read 20,000 Leagues a while back - nice reference! TNLNSL. TFTC ST!
Tftc,
Today's 98 finds will place me a little under 800 away from making 10,000 finds at 10 years of Geocaching on the 28th May 2020.
A decision was made to have a go at this and after all that has been achieved this year, there is still 5 months to get there and a few Power trails will help.
The placement of all were good when you do the caches on the side of the road in the direction you are traveling.

Early start for Wazza9 and I to cache before the heat, plenty of smoke to breath in. Found 98 today with 2 DNF's, completed some maintenance along the trails, adding additional log sheets to containers, replacing some containers for the CO. The temperature reached 46 degrees when we stopped caching and had lunch in Bungendore in the air con. bring on the . Most were quick finds, some a few meters away, stamped the log and replaced. A big thanks to the CO for placing these trails & caches.
Accompanies ALL7, great enjoyed trip to Captains Flat for a day and CFT series part run on the way..

The kiwichicks have started working on the captain's series as part of an epic cache run which saw some of us grabbing over 180 caches on a bitterly cold day.
Found as part of the Kiwichicks in an epic numbers run day. I was in the car with Nosynel and Jude E. When I signed the log it was written s Kiwichicks (Very occasionally KC if space was limited). The other group (Ethness, thedbees & Graciesgpsfun) signed the caches as KCC, Some caches along this route will have both sets in as the cars visited them at different times. However, I am only claiming the ones where I participated in the search.
TFTC, I remember reading this book as a child!

Today three of us - Infoferret, Nosynel and Jude_e, have the goal of finding 180 caches. We started at about 5.45am, finished about 8pm. Thanks for your trail. Sometimes I signed as KCC NZ and other times we signed as kiwi chicks - depended who had the pen! Thanks for the cache.
Out and about aroud Canberra caching with the KCC team. A great little trail along here with tonnes of caches and a lovely pub lunch at the end.

Thanks StrangeTrousers for placing this geocaches 7352 find for me. We six stayed in Canberra last night. Today is all about numbers. We are setting a challenge to see how many we can find on a day. We started out at 5:47am. 6am was the time we filled the car with juice. We changed the driver 3 times.
The time has finally arrived for a massive Australian road trip with The Kiwi Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Apologies for the late log. I had a trip to Canberra in the middle of winter to visit my wife who had a six week study placement there. This was my one major day of caching when I headed out to Queanbeyan and then followed the Captains Flat Trail south to follow the CFT series and other assorted caches along the way. A big day with 102 finds in total and my apologies for the generic log. The majority were found without too much trouble. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series StrangeTrousers.
we headed away for the weekend to grab some numbers, We free camped the night before At Captains flat .. In Queanbeyan to attend the Mega. So great to catching up with some many familiar faces and meet many new ones. Always taking the time to grab a cache, when the opportunity allowed it.
Out with Snap Happy, Omegaman1971, The Empire and a newbie going by the name of XC, We signed alll logs SHOEX. Today was going to be a big day, starting out at Tarago on some power trails and ending on the Captain Flat trail. We only had 1 DNF and shared many a laugh and fun, while finding a variety of hides.
Some of the parking for these was a bit tight so thankfully they were quick finds and the terrain ratings, didn't always reflect the hide.
Thanks StrangeTrousers for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

The cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing, signed the log using the initials GT/NS and replaced the container as found

After registering for the Mega we decided to do a little Captain's Flat caching, picking up from from the QBN end heading towards Hoskinstown. where we had previously cached from the Bungendore end. Nice morning with Di Morgan. Di event managed to add a little excitement slipping unceremoniously out of the passenger seat onto her bum on the road. It didn't help with Mr Snakepiter parking just off the road and stepping out into a great gutter. Need to get your laughs where you can when you cache, no harm done and Di cached on 'What a Trooper'. Great series of caches so far, all containers looked in good condition with logs dry.

3:58:00 PM. After setting up camp at the Mega yesterday today we were out for numbers. I had checked out this series before leaving home in Qld. We drove to the start to work our way back towards camp. We ended up breaking our record for finds in one day. There were 3 caches that we couldn't grab due to roadwords and having the lane closed. Finally did this trail whilst also assisting StrangeTrousers do a maintenance run before the upcoming geocaching event in Canberra. Felt a little guilty that I had not done this trail especially as ST is one of the people who I have the most of my caching adventure with. What a crap caching buddy!!! Time to put some smiley faces on that trail I have looked at on the map for way to long. It was a cool sunny day and perfect for caching. Loved the changes in the countryside as we made our way along the trail and we enjoyed a lunch break at the Collector pub before finding the last lot of caches. A little detour to visit one of the Churches - love a greave yard and time helping to replace a cache on a bridge. Took a lot of photos of the bridge and railway line nearby. Loved the surprise with the final cache. Thank you ST for all the work you did setting up this trail and especially for the little things that take time like the pictures on the covers of the notebooks. Another great caching day that left me smiling for hours.
